First, I want to apologize to anyone who was offended by how fast and noisily I might have eaten my meal. I had the salad with grilled chicken and melted cheese. It was great but maybe a little messy.

The girls behind the counter of Pickle Barrel made us the most delicious, greasy, cheesy, gooey, steaky, messy, wonderful sandwich I've had in a while. Most of all it was fun ordering and waiting for our to-go order. All that and Big Sky Huckleberry Soda. MMMMMM! Thanks ladies! We'll be back!

I'm not sure what I liked more: the sandwich or the fun of picking my own pickle from the pickle barrel. It's a tough choice. Although I am in an area where beef is king, I opted to try the chicken salad that had a touch of curry. It was delicious. And, on the advice of friends, I ordered the small. I still thank them for that recommendation. These subs are big -- a full-size is over a foot and a half long. The half size was still a lot of food and PB doesn't skimp on the ingredients. Messy eating is part of the deal when you order a sandwich from here. Besides the size, the pickle barrel is what sets this place apart from the competition. Every sub comes with a pickle and customers are allowed to choose his or her perfect pickle from the pickle barrel. This place is a winner.

Sandwiches are huge but no kids menu, ran out of pickles and ran out of soup shortly after opening. Prices for drinks are a bit steep. Not the cleanest place. Floor was littered with food and paper scraps and we walked in just as they opened for the day

Arrived in Bozeman airport and needed a bite. Found this place on Yelp with raving reviews and decided to try it. It is good! Large, sloppy, meaty, cheesy and greasy sandwiches. I had the mushroom steak and dear hubby chose the cheese steak. We loved it. I don't usually like pickles but this sandwich needed the pickle to balance and cleanse one's palette before you can continue to eat. My only complaint is that it is not good for left over. The bread became very soggy and the meat dry and tough after reheating. Get a half order and finish it. I'll have to make my husband share his as I couldn't finish a half order.

The cheese steak sandwich is to die for, but unless you are super hungry a half sandwich is more than enough. The pickle that you get has a very unique taste that I have never had before. I have had a few of their other sandwiches and they are equally as good.

I had not been to the Belgrade Location before. It has more seating (both inside and out) than the original location by MSU. They have the full PB menu here, and it appears they have added a few sandwiches since my last visit to the Bozeman location. Prices have been creeping up, but this still one of my favorite sandwich shops. Today I had a huge 1/2 "Mushroom Steak", and enjoyed it, and my complimentary pickle, quite a bit. It was a generous sandwich, if not quite as much of a meat overload as my memory recalled. The staff were friendly. The memories were excellent. .

Normally I love PB but the staff at this one was rude and got our orders all wrong. Only one was able to make a sandwich and it took them forever!!!

This post is LATE in coming but so well deserved. I no longer live in Bozeman so as you can imagine one of the things I must have when I come back is a pickle barrel. I love to customize the steak sandwich. Alas the college store failed miserably and I didn't find out till at my parents whom live in almost Manhattan. So bummed. BUT the Belgrade store totally made up for it! Another restaurant had just sent me to the hospital for anaphylaxis but I was starved so we went there. They made my sandwich away from everything, got out fresh unsullied ingredients and were so amazingly sweet. An awesome sandwich an amazing crew! Thank you soooo much

The only problem with the Pickle Barrel sandwiches: you need a FORKLIFT to take them home!!! Seriously, my fishing partner and I found this place at random on our way to fish the Beaverhead. Their Sammie's were so GIGANTIC, we couldn't believe our eyes....a half classic Ham & Swiss has at least a pound of ham alone! The bread is super fresh and we have come to conclusion that two people can easily split a HALF sandwich and both be completely satisfied. A whole sandwich would feed a family of four! I only wish they had a Pickle Barrel in Seattle.

Great sandwiches and giant portions! They have Monterey Jack cheese which I cannot find anywhere else in Belgrade or Bozeman. Limited seating but great food.

Our family favorite for a quick meal, picnics and road trips. So many great sammies, and HUGE! We all have our favorites, but I have to rotate between three or four... One of our sons loves the ham so much, he is happy eating it all by itself. Very accommodating with requests for no onions, no tomatoes, etc by the kiddos. Everyone is friendly and seems to enjoy being there, my kids want to work there when they're old enough!

Always a friendly staff willing to customize sandwiches. The Bobcat special is my favorite cold sandwich, but the cheese steak is also incredible. Plus, it helps the subs are enormous, the halves are more than enough.

HUGE sandwich. A whole sandwich is made on an actual loaf of French bread. We ordered three different sandwiches for our family of six and had way too much food. As we were on a road trip it was nice to have leftovers to take with. Unfortunately there was so much mayo they were soggy by the time we needed a snack. The Philly Cheesesteak was unusual, but good. Dragonslayer and Bobcat were both decent but nothing extra-ordinary. All in all a great value and friendly staff. We would definitely stop in again but probably try something different.

friendly helpful counter service-my hubby & I purchased the large mushroom steak & split it-we could have just gotten a half & split that-fresh & tasty-would have liked to add marinara sauce but none available that day-I would go back if in the area-only problem was the owner's 2 kids were there that day & were very loud/active banging on the bathroom door & running in & out of restaurant
