My first night in Mississippi, the boyfriend and I decided to go out for dinner and ended up at Woody's. We sat in the high-back chairs in the dining room, which are fantastic - so comfortable and so fun. I had been craving fried pickles and when I asked them if they served fried pickle chips or spears, they were kind enough to make me a special order of fried pickle spears (which I highly recommend trying). It was so sweet that they went out of their way to do that, and they were delicious. I had a pulled pork sandwich and boyfriend had the catfish po' boy. Delicious. I will absolutely go back if I ever find myself in Mississippi again (which I will, because I love that place).

I would drive from California to Mississippi for the Buffalo chicken po' boy I had here. I am not even kidding. Driving from Gulf Shores, AL to St. Louis, Mo guaranteed a meal stop somewhere. I pulled up Yelp and this was the place that had a good amount of stars. I read a review and we took the detour off the road to find it. SO worth it. I can't even. This place doesn't look like much. You might even scoff at it. Make no mistake, it is clean and professional and DELICIOUS. The food was fresh and perfect, and the service was so amazing. Our waitress was friendly, sweet, and had knowledge of the whole menu. Prices were super cheap! We even met the guy who was about to take over from his grandpa, who had just moved back from Chicago to do so. He was super nice and talked to us about the history of the place for a while. They've got a cool bar, too. And clean bathrooms! We needed to charge our phones so they took us to an executive table in the back with bloody amazing high-backed, super-comfy office chairs so that we could use the plug ins and free wifi. Oh, and throwing the peanut shells on the floor is pretty cool, too. ;) But really. The buffalo chicken po' boy. O. M. G. Heaven. Homemade pickles, garden fresh tomatoes, and the most amazing buffalo chicken I've ever had. Somehow it works with the fresh grated Parmesan, and the flavor combination was just excellent. Guy Fieri, GET HERE. DINERS, DRIVE INS, AND DIVES MATERIAL FOR REAL.

Sadly, Woody's does not open until 4;00 pm on weekdays. Woody's had 4 stars before I wrote the review, so I used that ranking. The outside location looked cool and I will return and then update my post the next time we pass through (on the weekend). Woody's is just off I-55, Exit 185, East We ended up at the oriental buffet next door (see my review for 1 Chinese Restaurant = 2 star).

Good ribs, great catfish, and the best fried okra I've had. And great hush puppies - hard and crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Our server was very friendly and attentive, but we were in early on a Monday, so the place was early empty.

Great place if you're hungry and looking for nicer pizza than fast food pizza. I went at 3:30 cause I was hungry at a random time- but we got our food quickly cause no one else was there! Nice seating areas. I would recommended the buffalo chicken pizza. The Jamaican jerk chicken pizza was ok... Not the best. Four cheese is pretty good as well! The service was quick but the server wasn't very polite nor did he look happy to be serving us. Also, our table was dirty when we sat down. But he eventually cleaned it for us.

I wish I would have enjoyed the same restaurant as the other couple reviewers...but not even close! I waited around for 30 minutes for them to open just to eat here...based on those reviews. I ordered ribs and pork combo. The entire meal was barely luke warm when I got it, which was an instant turn off. I sent it back and asked how fresh BBQ could be cold. It came back a few minutes later after a ride in the microwave. Yuck. Who wants to pay $17 for microwaved BBQ? The pork was super mushy and kind of weird tasting, and the ribs were super dry, could have been the microwave. The bottom line, the best part of the meal was the ice water. McD's is just down the street and I hear the McRib is back. It would have been better.

Where to start? Well, just go! We missed the blue plate special (11-2) and still got outta there for $20 including tip for two of us. Loaded chips- cheese, shredded BBQ pork, BBQ sauce - couldn't stop eating them. Burger & spicy fries were hot, fresh and so yummy. Their BBQ sauce is sweetish with a bit of tang, not vinegary Friendly staff, full bar plus bottled beer. Great place to watch sports. Manually type in the address or you'll end up in a residential area. Went there on Yelp recommendations. So glad we did. Wish we could go again and try other dishes, but were just passing through.

Lunch today - ribs, baked beans and coleslaw - was just outstanding! And the service from waitress Kim was also outstanding. We stopped there more or less by accident as we were driving from Natchez to Oxford, and we were delighted.

The beef brisket special was simply incredible. It was so moist and the sauce was perfect. The BBQ sandwich was really good too and was also exceptionally moist. They also have homemade chips which are thin and very crisp. They also give you whole peanuts. It's always fun to shell peanuts and then throw the shell on the floor.

We stopped here for lunch the day before we were supposed to have the best BBQ in Memphis at the Rendezvous downtown. I'm happy to say the Rendezvous is #2 compared to Winona's little Old Town Grill. The BBQ sauce was almost the same as the world famous Rendezvous and the price was less than half. We didn't know the blue plate special was so awesome at $5.50, so we ordered fried pickles and some queso dip and chips. The fried pickles were perfect. Here in Texas they spice them up too much, but here they were just right. The queso was a white cheese with some spices that kicked ass too! Our lunches showed up quickly and we were amazed! I got the pulled pork plate, and it came with black eyed peas, rice with sausage and beans, cheese sticks, and what I can only guess were white corn hushpuppies that were soooo good! To compare, my Rendezvous plate ($12.50) contained pork, a hamburger bun, and a tiny serving of coleslaw. HAH! If we want more great Memphis BBQ, now we know we can save a hundred miles just by stopping at Winona's Old Town Grill and get a sweet meal for under $20. Take that, Memphis!

Big BBq fan and a foodie. This place was amazing. It has everything you expect in the south. Was made happy after a major disappintment driving to Decateur AL for Big Bob Gibsons. (thats another story) Everything here is homeade, huge portions, amazing sauce and ice cold beer. Nice atmosphere and kid friendly. I ordered the rib/catfish plate for $13.99 with 2 sides. It was enough for 4 people. My wife got the mushrooms and onion sticks. Light and crispy. The green beans have some sort of subtle grilled flavor that could get any kid to eat their vegetables. Big homemade pies for dessert. Well worth going out of your way or stopping off at. Not sure that I will ever be in Mississippi again, but this is a must stop if you are in the area.

I stopped here on road trip from LA to memphis. Wow. The ribs were awesome. Probably the best ribs Ive ever had. The draft beer was good. Service was great. Two thumbs up!
