Knock Knock Bar

720 Highway 90
Waveland, 39576
Reviews:
Knock knock was great! Good, standard bar fare (burgers and sandwiches that come with fries) as well as an extensive selection of seafood dishes. We had burgers and fried fish. Both were piping hot and delicious. The staff and locals that frequent Knock Knock were all courteous and friendly to us out-of-towners and we struck up a few conversations about the area, and our home town of New Orleans. Most of the patrons were there for a birthday, and they even offered us some birthday cake, we gladly accepted. They have reasonably priced pool and darts. There are also murals painted all over the walls depicting mermaids, beaches, jungles, and dancing islanders. Overall, Knock Knock was charming, reasonable, friendly, and delicious. I would definitely recommend it to those looking for a bite, a beer, and some local color.

Lunch Box

Reviews:
Poboy's and daily lunch specials are what the Lunch Box is all about. It has a loyal and steady customer base a testament of quality and consistency of the offerrings. When I find a great lunch joint I like to stick with it. I have been here many times over the years and now that I am on Yelp I can spread the good news to others not familiar with this great lunch in Waveland.
The Lunchbox never disappoints! They have great food. I mean all of it is great! I usually get a roast beef po boy but their hamburgers and salads are great too! My only complaint is that they aren't open on the weekend.
TASTY is one word that comes to mind. If you want a great po boy( roast beef, hot sausage) or muffaletta this is the place!! The real deal. I'm from New Orleans so Ive eaten my fair share of good and bad sandwiches. This place is EASILY one of the best. The hot sausage reminds me of an old creole New Orleans hot sausage. The roast beef is real beef cooked down and sliced. The hamburger is damn good too. They also have daily lunch specials(meatloaf is one of the one's I usually get). Another big factor for me. CONSISTENCY. It is always the same every time I go. They are only open for lunch(10:30-2:30) and closed on sat and Sunday so if there's a con that's it.

This place has the best onion rings and fried shrimp poboys I've ever had. I don't eat meat just seafood, so I haven't been able to try a lot of their other stuff. But, the catfish is delicious as is the fried shrimp salad. Seriously this place is delicious!
This is absolutely the best "regular" breakfast in the Bay area with great service. For under $5 you get 2 eggs, meat, delicious grits, toast/biscuit & coffee! It is w/chair accessible & although it's very casual & homey, has gorgeous hand-painted murals on all the walls. My FAVORITE place for breakfast :-)
Wow! Great seafood po-boys! The overstuffed shrimp po-boy is enough for two. Onion rings are as good as they get. Breakfast here is great, too. As their slogan says... "good ole southern cooking".

I ate lunch at the West End Restaurant in Waveland, MS on 4/17/2015. It was my 1st time there. I had a cup of the crab shrimp bisque ($6.00) and a shrimp poboy ($10.00). My sweet tea was $1.75. All the food was good and Angie, my server, did a fine job. Plus, I took photos.
I was only moderately impressed with West End. We only came because of a gift card and likely will not return. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant, but the location on Hwy 90 is a far fetch from other local restaurants located over on the gulf. As such, I expect for the food to make up for the views of speeding traffic. We started with fried green tomatoes and chargrilled buffalo oysters. The tomatoes were ok, but the oysters were good and certainly the highlight of the meal. They reminded me of the BBQ oysters served at Redfish Grill in New Orleans even though they weren't nearly as good. They needed to be covered in more of the Crystal (I think...) buerre blanc sauce. For entre, we had the special plate of blackened fish and shrimp atop a creamy crawfish pasta. Luckily, my wife and I shared the dish... it was HUGE, and $28. We had lots of leftovers. The fish was ok, but the pasta needed a lot of salt. It was greatly underseasoned. BOTTOM LINE: An ok place to grab some grub in the BSL area, but certainly not the best.
We called ahead to make a reservation and they were very nice and accommodating on the phone. The service was very good and our waitress was very genuine and sweet. The food sucked. They brought out a paper bagged french loaf that was a nice touch. Down hill from there. Seared tuna special was really gross and not even close to sushi grade, it was overcooked and came with poor seaweed salad and wasabi. Pass. Veal picatta. Pass. Dry, 4 capers, serious lack of flavor. Not even warm when it came out. Does Sysco sell a veal picatta? I don't know but of they did it would probably taste like this garbage.

Fat Boyz Burgers & More

Waveland, 39576
Reviews:
Fat Boyz was certainly worth the trip. My husband got the fat boy cheese burger and it was perfectly cooked and cane with a generous portion of fries. I got a quarter of a muffalatta and fried mushrooms. My sandwich was so large I couldn't fit it. I had to keep squashing it down. Yes, they are a bit pricy. $22 for everything. But I am in no way disappointed. I would certainly go back. As a side note, this is a family run and owned place. The owners are terrific! If you are in the area check it out..
Great Burger and diverse menu. I had a chili cheese fat boy as a way to say goodbye to 2014. I made a good choice. I ordered the onion ring upgrade for $1.50 extra. These were homemade onion rings - not flash fried frozen onion rings from Sysco that you got at just about every other place. Thank you Fat Boyz for not taking a shortcut.
Best burger I have ever eaten! It is a family owned business and the food is cooked to order. Definitely worth the drive off the interstate.

Waveland Yun Long Buffet

Reviews:
I've probably eaten at over 100 buffets over the years and Yun Lon Buffet is by far the best! Their food is always fresh and tasty. The service is excellent and every time I go the owner is there making sure the customers are happy. The only problem is that I now compare every buffet I try to Yun Long and none of them quite measure up.
I rarely have anything bad to say but the food here wasn't that great and they labeled some of the options wrong. They had the crawfish labeled as shrimp and the food tasted like it was out for a while. Pick a different place if you're in the area.
This place gets a two star from me. The staff was friendly to us because they knew my father in law since he comes here often. The food itself wasn't all that great. Food could have been alot fresher since it was dinner time and getting pretty busy. Another thing i didn't like was the smoking section since we didn't smoke. It just made the place smell like nicotine which isn't very appealing.

This is the spot! Great food, good service. One of my new favorites in the area. Sure its not on the water and in some abandoned strip mall off 90, but its cranking out some tasty meals. Lunch time is usually crowded.
Love love looooove the fried shrimp stuffed potato!! Quick service. Good food. Love to eat here.
Yelpers, you let me down. I don't understand what all the 5 stars are about on this place, or hopefully, I just hit it on an off day. My husband had the shrimp stuffed potato and he said it was just OK, and I had the fried shrimp po-boy and it was mediocre at best. We were just passing through the area, and with all the great seafood we had been eating, this did not even come close to being good.

Sakura Thai

Reviews:
It's the only game in town and good but in a big city it'd just be average. Only have ever eaten here for lunch and have had a couple of different sushi and thai dishes. All were pretty good. Certainly if you're in the area and looking for something ethnic this is a great place to go.
It is a decent sushi restaurant and it's the only one in town. So it really doesn't have any competition. We ordered the crawfish roll, which was very good. The shrimp fried rice tasted burnt, very disappointing. It's a clean little restaurant and they are friendly. It's a tad pricey though.
I had an unfortunate run-in with Sushi about six months ago. Since that fateful day sushi is not something I crave, ever. Also, I do not trust fish such as salmon, tuna, whitefish etc. anytime, anywhere, anymore since it all seems to be contaminated with mercury, or mis-labeled as something it's not, or dyed pink to APPEAR fresh. (Google all of this - you'll be frightened) My boyfriend loves the stuff and constantly harasses me to go for sushi. I am a lover of thai foods who feels rather deprived of said cuisine down here in the south. So we were super excited to stumble upon this conveniently-located spot! The service was fast and friendly. The interior is very clean and pleasant and featured a fish tank with fascinating exotic fish I'd never seen before! The food was just ok. My thai basil wasn't spicy and not overly flavorful. The presentation of my bf's sushi was beautiful but it didn't knock his socks off. Spring rolls were allright. All-in-all not a bad quick stop right off the road. I'll definitely go back and give it another chance when we roll that way.

This is an A-OK Taco Bell that is always eazy. The inside dining area is always clean and the atmosphere is plesent. The menu selection is complete and the prices are just right for family eating. Kind of difficult getting in and out with it's 1 driveway but not impossible. Customer service is always quality.
