I have tried every BBQ place in Starkville more than once, and this is the only place I go back for. I've heard great things about the Little Dooey and Petty's but none of them compare. Sykes's service is so great and friendly. On two occasions, I didn't know what a menu item was exactly or what it tasted like (livers and rib tips), and both times, they gave me a sample to try. I don't usually eat livers but these were melt in your mouth and so flavorful. I crave them a lot because they are very unexpected. Usually, you'd think they'd be iron-y, but they were not. The rib tips are sizzling and juicy. A good bit of it is fat, so it keeps the rib tips moist and not dried out. I've also ordered their pulled pork and it is very good. Paired with cole slaw and white bread, you can make amazing sandwiches for days if you order a 1/2 pound or pound of it. I highly recommend giving this little trailer a try. It's building is very deceiving. It's a little red trailer right next to Classic Clippers, in between, Sonic and Petty's.
