Since opening in Starkville, Central Station has become our favorite restaurant in the Columbus-Starkville area. They have a wide menu selection, and it's not only different from the same old menu selections you see at every other restaurant, it's not trying to reach too far down your pallet with strange pairings or bizarre Chef creations. After all, does anyone really want Beet and Oyster Purée over Vanilla Bean Gelato? One of the best things about Central Station is that they have an upstairs with 2 separate large group seating areas. They do NOT look like the typical run-of-the-mill banquet areas, but are very modern, beautiful places to have Rehearsal Dinners, Reunion Dinners, Organization or Meeting Dinners or Lunches, etc. They have such an amazing Brunch Menu (the Chicken and Waffles are to die for), that 2 years ago I reserved one of the areas for my daughters Bridesmaids Brunch. Central Station allowed us to decorate with pink runners over their white table cloths, flowers arrangements, candelabras, Pink Menus that we had printed so our guests knew what we were offering them, etc. They even let us bring a 3 layer Bridesmaids Cake! The food was so delicious! Everyone loved having a choice of a Mimosa or Bloody Mary with Brunch, Central Station provided full coffee service and even cut the cake! The best part is that their prices were so reasonable!!!! They took care of everything, gave me firm prices, and there were NO surprises when I got the bill! Since that Bridesmaids Brunch, we have married 2 more daughters and a son and have used Central Station for all those occasions. They were Five Star every time!

I have always loved the Grill. Definitely a Starkville staple. During the LSU fame, my husband and I decided to go for Sunday brunch. I don't know if the hostess was overwhelmed or not but she was seating out of order and not giving bar/patio seating options to all guests. This made several people mad enough to leave. Our food was good but you could tell they were busy. I got the crab cake Benedict and my husband got the sampler breakfast. They were both good and I was full, but it was definitely a smaller amount of food. I also went to the restroom and a server came in and was texting on her phone the entire time I was in there. Note that I said that the restaurant was crowded and probably had 20 groups waiting outside for a table.

Order the hamburger!!!! Seriously delicious! Great service and atmosphere as well. (Oh and pepperjack cheese sticks or spring rolls for a starter).

Went with a big group of people and tried a little of everything. I was VERY impressed. It's a little pricey but it's good for special occasions or a night out.

Pretty much everything here is amazing. I could live on the pepper jack cheese sticks alone. I love the fettuccine Alfredo as well. My fiancé always gets the NoLa which is kind of a Cajun type pasta. It's definitely worth a visit.

Just traveling through and found this place on Yelp. It was after the noon crowd and was quiet. I had the crab cake salad and was very pleased. The remoulade sauce makes a great dressing. My wife had a club and she liked it but could not eat it all. She liked it well enough to get a go box. You could tell they had a reduced wait staff between the lunch and dinner crowd. Service was friendly but not speedy.

I can't remember what we ate from here but it was good I'm sure of that. I remember my family of 3 eating a HUGE piece of pie/cake that i believe took 3 days to make. If my recollection serves me correctly considering it was almost 3 years ago. The manager at the time was amazingly nice & was so interested in learning Mexican soups (i.e. Menudo/pozole). Starkville was a nice experience & so was this restaurant. The quotes on the wall are adorable too. *Fyi, its been 3 yrs because were from California & we were out there on business*

Two words, cheese sticks. This place is absolutely amazing. I eat here once a week with my roommates and have never had a bad time there. The steaks, the chicken, even the burgers are top notch. The menu selection is very spread out and the deserts are to die for! If anyone is looking for a nice place to go out to eat with a great atmosphere, I would highly recommend this place! 5 Stars Grill!

The Grill seems like it has just gone down hill in the last few years. It still has some staples that are great and a few new things that aren't too shabby but it's lacking the luster that previously made it one of starkvilles best!

Best cheese sticks on the planet. The snickers pie will change your life...and your waistline if you eat as much as you will want to. My fav entrée was a Bourbon Pecan Fish dish, but I am not sure they still serve it. Highly recommend this place though.

This being my first stay in Starkville, I headed to yelp for help choosing a place for dinner. We arrived at 6:30 on a Monday night. Parking was not the best but not terrible either. The ambiance is casually elegant with what I consider a good amount of lighting. The hostess promptly seated our party. Our server was friendly but a little nervous, possibly new? I ordered the filet, medium rare with loaded baked potato, along with a side Caesar salad. The salad was promptly served on a chilled plate (the way it should be). In my opinion the salad was overdressed, and could have used another crouton or two. Not a bad salad, and although overdressed, the dressing was good tasting. Maybe 3-5 minutes after clearing the salad plates, the entrees were served. The filet had nice grill markings on both sides in a x pattern. The cut was thick as a filet should be. Upon cutting into the filet I found it to be a proper medium rare, and wow...very tender. I've had many filets and this one ranks in my top 3 in the tenderness department. I did have to salt it, which means it could have used a little more seasoning. The potato was great. The presentation was impeccable. The skin was properly cooked and seasoned. The potato, full and round, cooked to perfection. A small portion of garlic bread was served on the side, which was a little hard. A nice piece of soft garlic bread would have been awesome too. I cleaned my entire plate. I would recommend a visit to anyone passing through Starkville.

I had the special, grilled amberjack with sauteed spinach and red potatoes, I also added a side of gouda cheese grits and grilled asparagus. The fish was grilled nearly perfect, spinach, red potatoes and asparagus were good as were the grits which I normally don't eat but couldn't keep my fork out of.

Staffed by attentive and quick servers, the Grill is a great dining experience. The menu is full of delicious offerings you are sure to love. Personally, the marinated flavor of their mignon skewers is not to be missed. My friends love their cheese log appetizer. Also, the Gouda Grits sides are so good it's sinful. All of this said, as nearly perfect as their menu items are, their seafood specials are culinary works-of-art. As someone who grew up near the Chesapeake Bay, good seafood is hard to find in Northern Mississippi, but the seafood specials at the Grill are too good to miss. In fact, they occasionally have a scallop special that, not to be too blasphemous, may in fact be THE REASON GOD CREATED SCALLOPS! Yet, if you just don't go for seafood, than the Grill is still the place to come for steak, chicken, appetizers, desserts and everything else!

I had lunch here on my first visit to Starkville four years ago. Their fish tacos made me a fan. Since then we've had several meals to go while working in the area. One of my go-to's is the tenderloin skewer. You can get two at lunch or for an appetizer with one side, and the dinner is four with two sides. The steak is well seasoned but not heavy or greasy. Their sides are generally all good. I recently spent a weekend in Starkville and had 3 meals out - all at the Grill. I ordered the "to go" which is nice as they bring it to the car - no getting dressed if you're in the middle of a yard project, ha. The first night I had the Pacific Rim Salmon - $18.99 - chili-honey-glazed finished with a citrus wasabi sauce. It came with almond basmati rice but I subbed in some really delicious cheese grits. It was amazing! It also came with a side salad - I opted for the wedge (which they forgot to include). This was one of the best salmon meals I've had and was very fresh with complex flavors. For lunch, I ordered crab and crawfish cakes on balsamic-dressed greens with tomato salsa and caper remoulade sauce served with garlic mashed potatoes. For $12.99 this was a big meal, in fact I couldn't finish it. The cakes were a little more breaded/fried than I like but were very good. The potatoes were excellent. For dinner - yep, back to the salmon, it was THAT good (and I made it home with the wedge salad this time). The salad is a large portion for a side salad. I ordered the same for my son to take to his all night shift in the hospital - he said it was great reheated (at 3 a.m.). They are very nice about subbing sides, so since he is a high protein/low carb eater, I ordered asparagus and mixed vegetables with his. The caesar salad he got was also large and he said it was great. So... my only complaint is the missing salad - I mentioned it to the girl who took my dinner order the second night (same one who took my order the first night) and she was totally nonplussed by the missing salad and did not even apologize. When I got to my condo, I realized the wasabi sauce was missing. I just couldn't eat it without the sauce having had it before and knowing what it added. I called and asked for it to be waiting for me - this time I got the manager. I mentioned this was the second missing item, and she quickly explained the hostess was very new/in training - and then delivered a gi-normous piece of cheesecake with caramel and pecans drizzled on top along with the wasabi sauce. Oh.My.Goodness. It was fabulous. I would not have been able to do a 5 star based on the little hostess's lack of concern and back to back omissions, but how could I complain with that tower of cheesecake looking at me? Apparently, the management is on top of things and I appreciated the gesture. Take it from me - if you are in Starkville you need to try this. The prices are so reasonable for the quality of the food. I looked at some of the most "upscale" spots and reviewed their menus, but couldn't break away from the Grill based on the variety, quality, and price. I'll be back... I posted photos of the salmon, cheesecake, and crab cakes - realize I asked for them to go so they don't have the plating I'm sure they receive if you dine in, but they still looked and tasted great.

Delicious food, pleasant atmosphere and extremely attentive staff made our first visit to Central Station Grill our best food experience in Starkville. Being from the Gulf Coast makes it difficult to impress me with crab cakes, however the Crab Cake Benedict was one of the best crab cakes I have ever eaten! The others in my party were impressed with their dishes as well. Next time we come to Starkville, this will be our first choice. If you live close, do yourself a favor and eat here - today.

We dropped in for a late lunch after moving our son into his dorm. The waitress was very friendly and offered suggestions. Apparently we were given the lunch menu as another table's waitress provided the fuller, dinner menu to her table when it was discovered the digs she suggested wasn't listed. We were not given the sane offer. My husband loved his brunch item of crab cake Benedict but was surprised to be served only one. Most places serve two. He enjoyed it but left hungry. My daughter's hamburger was cooked to perfection and served on a deliciously fresh bun. I had the club and was not disappointed. The serving size of the French fries was small but I felt that I had plenty. This restaurant is part of the Harvey's group and the similarities were noticeable. Overall, a good meal at a reasonable price. I'll probably be back!

When I travel, I always like to sample the cuisine from the local scene. This was my second choice and I'm glad I chose Central Station. I visited on a cold Monday night at around 7:30 and the place was full...a good sign. I had the Ahi Crunchy Salad ' cuz I wanted something light. The tuna was cooked to perfection and the combination of the textures and flavors of the rest of the salad was wonderful. If this was any indication, the rest of the food here will be excellent. Starkville, you have an excellent restaurant in Central Station Grill.

Saw a segment on the local news about this spot, so checked it out for lunch. Had the Steakhouse Salad - great presentation! Steak was perfectly cooked, however, it had very little flavor - need to add some seasoning or marinade. The ingredients in the salad were a perfect combo, but the salad was probably 50% of the romaine "cores" - the white center part of the romaine leaves; which I don't like. The spicy ranch dressing was awesome - great kick. I will definitely try this place again

Awesome food. Service was very friendly. Waitor made small talk & went & shared my travels with another server who came out & talked to me. Was nice to have conversation when dining alone. Came in just before night menu & were more than willing to accommodate a full dinner. Would highly recommend.

Food is hit or miss and the drinks are terrible. The nachos were really good, but the fish tacos and chicken sliders just tasted bad. Even the server agreed the well liquors were terrible. I tried two specialty drinks, and they were both just bad. Staff and management is nice, though.

Absolutely great service from the hostess to our server, Justin, and even the manager who checked up on us mid-meal. The food was delicious (even the coffee) and overall, it was the best dining experience I had in Starkville!

My family and I had called to make reservations with this restaurant. We called the reservations in on a Wednesday and made them for Saturday at one thirty. When we got to the restaurant they told us that there were no reservations under our name. They then proceeded to tell us that it would be a two hour wait. After sitting through a 2 hour graduation that is not what we were expecting to hear. It is very irritating to make reservations and the restaurant not do its job and write the name down. On the plus side we did find a restaurant called Anthony's to eat at in West Point. The food there was outstanding.

Solid food--the sandwiches are all great. Like Harvey's, and the Veranda, the tap selection is fairly limited, but "the Grill" does provide more options than the latter two restaurants. As posted by Nick D., the brunch is fantastic.

This place was awesome. My first day in Starkville and I wanted to grab some lunch while I had to wait to check into my hotel. My experience was flawless. The server I had was awesome, and she knew the menu very well. I had no idea what I wanted, and she recommended the fish tacos, and her recommendation was awesome! The fish tasted very good and fresh. I am someone who is a huge fan of fresh, and non chain restaurants, and this place was great.

One of the best restaurants in Starkville! I always take my parents here when they're in town. Delicious food (my favorite are the fish tacos) and nice atmosphere. It interior feels like a restaurant you'd find in a much bigger, nicer city than Starkville.

This is one of my favorites in Starkville if not my favorite! They have so many choices to pick from and they are all delicious! I have ordered the fish tacos, chicken sliders, chicken piccata, and chicken with garlic mashed potatoes! Awesome wine selections and desert! You have to try this place just for the mozzarella sticks! They are not your typical cheese sticks they are gourmet and golden crispy they are a must try!! If you have not eaten here, you are missing out!!!

Recently, I took a trip to the Grill in the new location in the business park called Central Station with my immediate family. We weren't really feeling anything substanial in food, and thinking of someplace to get a nice brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Sadly the Grill's website does not tell you that they serve brunch from 11am to 2pm on Sundays. However, after having a Facebook friend mention that she was going that day for brunch, we decided to give it a whirl! If you want brunch at the Grill, get there early! We showed up at 1230pm and the place was already packed with tables of 15 and 10 people in their largest seating area, and almost every table for 4 was taken. By 1pm the place had a line out the door. Why? Because the atmosphere and food is what drives both the church crowd and lazy weekenders to the Grill. With a brunch menu of 5 items (Steak & eggs, Eggs Benedict, Crab Cake Benedict, Cinnamon French Toast, and an Egg Platter) that all come served with shredded potatoes & melon fruit, it is hard not to come back each weekend. To compliment the food is $2 Mimosas & Bloody Mary's. The service left something to be desired as the staff did not ask if we've had brunch there before, nor if we have been there before as its only been open 4+ months. Nor did we get his name. He was very friendly but seemed very rushed unfortunately because of the crowd. I would have liked to try their coffee but did not know they had any until after I saw someone else being served it. The Grill gets 5 Stars for its Brunch. I've been here before for dinner three times and it gets 4 Stars for that. So overall a 4.5 Star restaurant. But in Starkville, that goes a long way towards greatness.

It's easy to see why this is a popular brunch spot -- it's a really nice place, and the service is just impeccable -- but at least on this visit, the food didn't impress me. I ordered eggs benedict, and not only was the wait long, there were several egg shell pieces in it when it arrived. When we let the waiter know, he was extremely apologetic and called the manager over, who offered to bring me out another plate for free. (And, to give credit where credit is due, the second plate really was cooked perfectly.) So -- a bit of a bad experience for my first visit, but the service was so great that I'll definitely give this another go soon.

Wonderful atmosphere! It's fantastic how far this business has grown. The food is moderately priced and genuinely tasteful and relatively unique. The berry cobbler is a must. For all of its fantastic qualities, it does support a couple of minuses. The tall booths make you feel cut off from the rest of the restaurant, but offer no actual privacy. The staff is wonderful, and the owners like to stay present. Central Station Grill is must for a Starkville visit.

This is a place where you take your picky in-laws who want something better and more local than a chain restaurant. The food is decent but unremarkable, but consistently so, and there's something to be said for that. The burgers, sandwiches, wraps, cheese sticks, and Buffalo wings are all things I'll eat without complaint, but I don't stray too far from the fundamentals.

Great food with full flavor. The menu was expertly crafted by what can only be determined to be a true foodie. The atmosphere is nice an sort of "yuppie crowd" which I am a fan of. Been here twice in a month and will come back.

Fun spot to watch a game and drink a Beer, but the food is average. The menu has limited quality choices. Good atmosphere, average food.
