Well, My daughter works for a Corporate Steak n Shake. When I go to her's in Georgia, I can get a take out for just around 6 dollars, not here, Her place is clean, not here, and no one at the register here. Honestly I'm very disappointed

Well, this place has a pretty low rating, but what do you expect? It's a fast food chain at a busy part of town and it is cheap. Sure, sometimes I come here and it takes a minute to be seated. I come here often with my kids and they seem to entertain themselves and it not a problem if they're a little noisy. And they eat free on the weekends, not really advertised, but it's true. I've never been disappointed with my food, it's good for the price. The music is good ole classics and the place has a nostalgic feel to it. They have a burger for everyone. This place is good in my book.

Took my sweetie here 2 nights ago for his first ever Steak-n-Shake experience. He had the Sriracha Burger and was a lil disappointed by the lack of "kick". I had the Philly Cheese steak Burger and was very happy. We tried the Butter Cookie Milk Shake...HEAVENLY! If you like those holiday butter cookies in the big blue can then you will enjoy this. There were chunks of them throughout the shake that had softened from soaking...OMG. SOOOOOOO...today, before leaving to go back home where there are no Steak-n-Shake around, we decided on one more Butter Cookie Shake for the road. I had a Frisco melt that had to go back..not made the way I ordered and the correction was also wrong but I ate it anyway. Sweetie ordered the Jamaican Jerk and was happy with the "kick". No shake sharing today...He ordered Very Berry Strawberry on my suggestion. He thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered another Butter Cookie Shake. Nothing like the first one. No chunks throughout, only crumbs on top. So, the reason for only 3 stars is the combination of both visits. But I will always eat at Steak-n-Shake and now so will my sweetie.

I don't have high expectations when going to a fast food place to dine in (we went for a birthday gathering), but what I experienced tonight (November 4th) was embarrassingly bad service and whoever manages this location should be ashamed of the abysmal overall experience. I didn't come here by choice but after tonight, never again under any circumstances will I come back. We waited 45 minutes for food that ended up coming out cold and flavorless and 3 of the 12 orders were completely wrong and had to be sent back. It even took 15 minutes for me to get a refill and my wife canceled her order altogether because they brought out the wrong thing and we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for terrible food. I got the cheddar burger and the cheddar had dried and congealed so much that it peeled cleanly off the cold patty and was hard. It was like a cheddar coaster. The only halfway decent thing was the fries but I would have rather gotten a medium order of fries at McDonalds over waiting 45 minutes for food that sucked overall and was not worth waiting 5 minutes for.

I've been to a few Steak & Shake's over the years but they have never been very memorable. Sadly, this one wasn't memorable either. They don't have their chicken options listed on the drive-through but you can still ask about them and get one. The girl taking my order was very friendly, which I appreciated. It took a surprising amount of time to get my food, which sucks when you're on the way to work. The fries here were pretty thin and tasteless. The sandwich was pretty good though. However, I really have no reason to come back. Liked: - #12 Chicken Sandwich Disliked: - French Fries - White Chocolate Shake

The food is ok but I've been in the drive through line for more than 30 minutes and still 3 cars away from the window. Stuck!!!!!

There was a wait as soon as we walked in the door but plenty of places to sit. You're suppose to wait to be seated here unfortunately. Finally someone came over to sit us down. She gives us menus and everything then leaves. I didn't expect her to be our waitress but then she comes back to take our drink orders and we order our food at the same time. And then nothing... We wait forever and not even drinks?? Finally another waitress comes over and says that she is actually our waitress but she was helping another larger table? Oh well she retakes our drink orders (cherry cokes) and brings them out. They barely have any cherry flavor at all but oh well at least we have something. It takes 40 minuets for our food to come out!! I have never waited that long at fast food restaurant. It finally comes out and my fries have shredded cheese instead of melted cheese sauce? Whatever it still tasted good as did the rest of the food. The restaurant really needs to get more organized if they can't handle a little bit of a crowd.

Worst service ever. We were seated & waited 30 minutes before we were even waited on. Another 30 minutes before our food arrived. Spoke with one of the managers, his response was that Saturdays can be kind of crazy. Needless to say, we will not be returning ever again.

We had a disappointing experience here. We were there for breakfast and our food took over 45 minutes to come out and then it came in waves with some waiting 10 minutes for their food after the first came. The food was mediocre. Also, orange juice and chocolate milk are not refillable and we were not told that on the front end so when the kids' drinks ran out, they had to drink water or purchase another drink. Our service (besides the food being late) was also poor and too relaxed/inattentive. I don't think we'll return. If we do, we will use the drive thru.

When you walk in the doors, look at all the grime built up on the large order-tracking monitor hanging right over the grill... Just disgusting.

Just really bad all the way around. Not good. I hate to be negative but it was just really bad.

Walked out without ordering. My annoyance started when the "host" approached me and my husband with all of the enthusiasm of a tree sloth. And it boiled over when we were seated at the tiny two-top next to the kitchen - the table that should literally be the last table used; it actually shouldn't even exist because it sucks so bad. There were several open booths lining the windows - I guess those were being reserved for the queen.

Took a long time to get food and workers were everywhere outside. You could hear the people on the intercom playing around in the back. We ordered the Birthday Cake shake and it was my first time having it. I'm not sure if It just tastes like bananas but I'm almost sure they gave us a banana creme shake with sprinkles. I thought I was going crazy but sure enough it even smelled like bananas and was such a dispointment.

I brought my boyfriend to this place for his first time. I ordered the jalapeno crunch chicken sandwich with onion rings. My boyfriend ordered a Western bacon burger with fries. I had ordered a sweet tea and my boyfriend ordered a soda. When the waitress brought the drinks, she had quickly left without saying a word before I could ask if I could have a lemon with my tea. The tea was very watery and didn't have much flavor but I figured the food would make up for that. Our food had arrived and it was very good. I just wasn't happy with the waitress we had because she didn't seem at all interested in anything I needed... I was going to ask for ranch with my onion rings but she was so quick to leave our table and not really communicate...the food was really good but because of the crappy tea and the waitress, I give this place four stars.

We came on 7/27/2014 at 11 pm. The place was half empty. We waited for a few minutes but no one seated us. There were a few workers that saw us but decided to look away. We left since no one was interested in helping us. Later I called and wanted to speak to the manger. Unfortunately they did not want to hear my complaint and decided to hang up on me. I've been here a few times and this was the first time it has happened. I'm a little sad since I feel I can not convince myself to come back again.

I live in Birmingham, AL and we don't have a Steak N Shake here, so whenever one is in the area I am visiting, I have to go. I went through the drive-thru at this one on a Saturday evening when I was visiting Southaven. I lived in Normal, IL for a while (where the restaurant originated) so I've had the best. The food here was actually quite good. I had what I always get - a chili five way, which is basically spaghetti noodles topped with chili, extra beef, cheese, onions and their special sauce on top. Surprisingly enough, I'm not very fond of most of their shakes, but the peanut butter cup shake that I had was actually very good as well. The problem was that they were SLOW. Like seriously SLOW. It took close to an hour to get through the drive-thru. The line was long, but it moved at a snail's pace. If I had access to their food any other time, I wouldn't have waited because it was seriously ridiculous. Definitely avoid the drive-thru if you can!

This is our midway stop when visiting my parents. It is perfectly position to get off the interstate and stretch your legs, not to mention get something to eat. The prices here are crazy low. I have to imagine that they either operate on sheer volume or use some sub quality meat. Either way, even if it is low quality (I don't know, don't care), I think it is great! For a fast food joint (which, honestly is a sit down place that takes a bit of time to order) the food is great. The shakes... Oh the shakes! I could get fat on Nutter Butter shakes! It is great for the kids as they get a little bit of stuff to color with and a cardboard car to put together to play with. If I lived here, I might not give it so many stars, but we are here so infrequently that it is a treat, so I don't feel bad.

My first visit to Stake and Shake and I see why they had the most cars in their lot on the restaurant row. The place was very clean, service and food were excellent. Would good back. It seemed to me to be a step above a Backyard Burger or some other places near by. I did not feel like I was in a fast food place but a restaurant.

It had been about 13 years since I had been to Stake N Shake and it was long over due. This location was better than the one I lived by in Florida. The service was great and the place was clean. I ordered the guacamole burger and it was so good!!! I topped it off with a turtle milkshake. Very good although I will admit, I should have ordered the mint chocolate chip shake. It's a personal favorite.

I seen this place plenty of times but never went to it until my now deceased grandmother was staying at the Baptist Memorial Hospital and I volunteered to stay with her as her next of kin. Anyway, when I was hungry for a sandwich and didn't feel like Mickey D's, I took a chance and went to Steak N' Shake. I didn't know what to expect, and knew even less what they had, I assumed they had steaks and well, shakes. The menu told how their burgers aren't made with the usual ground beef, but with steak. I ordered a Wisconsin Buttery combo and when I got it, I didn't expect much and took a bite. After a few bites, I notice the difference right away as the steak burger had a different taste, a clearer, cleaner taste. I took a couple fries, I noticed how thin they were. Funny, I figured Steak N' Shake would serve steak fries (thicker type of fry), Ironic to say the least but enjoyable none the less. I enjoyed the diner themed burger joint, as I finished my buttery. When I think of my Grandma, Steak N' Shake will always come to mind soon after.

Have been to several SnS's, which i've enjoyed - and was looking forward to this one while on vacation for the first time in the Memphis area. It was a disappointment to say the least. Once seated, ants were crawling across the table and on the walls, so we moved. It took 15 min to get our shakes - they were melted. Our server did take mine back and add in another scoop of ice cream, but it was not the same. It took a long time to get our food... 20-30 mins I'd say. My "melt" was cold and grease-soaked having waited for my nice, piping hot onion rings. We did not finish our meals... We figured we'd let the manager know about the experience upon checkout - no such luck. The cashier was talking to her peers as she took our bill and ran the card. She said "here you go" as she handed us the receipt and went back to her conversation. No "how were things?" or "thank you" or "come again." I called the 800 number as soon as I left, gave them ALL my info, just to receive an automated apology email. Good thing I can go to good SnS locations back home...KB
