Ah, yes. Mi Puelbo...the place to be on Tuesday nights from 6 to 8 PM. Los Cantadores, a Mariachi trio, creates quite the festive atmosphere every Tuesday evening. The food at Mi Pueblos is good, affordable, and not to mention the top shelf margaritas that are "on point". Start your meal off with Chili con Carne as your appetizer. This dip is a white queso dip with beef and pico de gallo added. If you want to taste an incredible shrimp cocktail done Mexican style, ask for the Cocktail de Camerones. They serve jumbo shrimp in a spicy cocktail sauce with avocado slices along with crackers. Outstanding! There are many entrees that are favorites of mine, but most recently I have the Yolandas. This is three chicken enchiladas along with beans and rice. Instead of the red ranchero sauce, I ask for queso sauce plus pico de gallo and cilantro. Absolutely delicious!! My brother in law always has the Carnitas (huge chunks of pork that are so tender you can cut them with a fork). I have eaten the steak fajitas before but I have found the meat to be cooked a little too well done for my taste. As far as Los Cantadores, ask them to sing "Sabor a Mi" or "Te Busco" for a romantic serenade. For something fun, ask them to sing "Piti piti pong" or "En Mis Motel". They also sing "Margaritaville" which creates a very entertaining evening. The best waiters there...ask for Rogelio, Scooby, Martin, or Golo. All the others are great, but I have found these guys to be exceptional.

The person ahead of my review must have just had a bad experience. This is the best mexican food in Desoto county. Service is great, huge beers, and great Mexican cuisine.

This place is a truly authentic restaurant. You feel the vibe as soon as you walk in the door. The wait staff is friendly here. I had the combination fajita platter, the steak and chicken was tender. The shrimp was tasty. If you get this size as for extra fajitas, you only get 3. There is more meat than fajitas. My craving for mexican food was satisfied. I will eat here again! They have several TV's to watch in each dining area.

I came here with coworkers. Apparently this place is pretty popular with people at my work. They told me it was better than the other places in the area. Well I wasn't too fond of this place (not a fan of tex mex in general) but I did like the spicy salsa. The food was just ok. Oh BTW you can request grilled chicken in your food, but if you don't you will automatically get shredded (which I personally dislike). Good: Salsa Rice Ok: Burrito Verde with grilled chicken Nah: Beans

This place is so Blah that it's blah! Girlfriend read good reviews on it and I haven't been here in a while so we went ahead and checked it out. How disappointing! I ordered the pollo fundido which I have had many times at other Mi Pueblos. It was nothing like the other restaurants and even came with a salad. Who knew Mexican restaurants served salads that are not taco salads!

Loco burrito was excellent and service was prompt and friendly. Ask for the homemade spicy salsa!

Good authentic mexican food is hard to find. So im happy to see they have an "Authentic like in Mexico" section on the menu. Service is good and speedy. Food was close to "authentic like in Mexico". Not too shabby

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
