Great food, thin fried is great, always great service!

Well this was my second visit here. Portion size of the fish leaves a lot to be desired. The server described them as 2x3 fillets. It's more like a catfish strip, not a fillet at all. I also found it to be rather bland. Unless you get french fries or a potato as a side this is more of a snack. I found myself hungry within the next hour of leaving here. I ordered a peach cobbler to go and imagine my surprise when I got home to open the box to find literally uncooked dough maybe one or two peaches. I had to microwave it for nearly 3 minutes just so it could be edible. My mother was really turned off by the tables. They were sticky which is the result of wiping them down with the same rag and no cleaner. Probably won't be back.

My BF and I stopped here on our way to ATL from Dallas, so great!! Great service, wonderful food, and very convenient. Such a great taste of classic southern seafood!

Update; I left an expensive Harley Davidson jacket there on my way to Texas from Maryland. They were kind enough to mail it to me for free. Even though I offered to send money to pay for shipping.

While driving through from Pensacola to Dallas I asked the local Harley dealer for a catfish dinner recommendation. The staff at the dealer was unanimous in their recommendation of Moss Creek fish House and they were right. The catfish was light and crispy and the homemade tarter sauce was great! We had to eat in our vehicle because we had our dogs with us and Madison, our hostess asked if she could come out to see our pups. The staff was friendly and the food was great!

Great service, my waiter Joeie was very polite and prompt to all my needs. He will be one of the main reasons I come back. The food was very good, catfish was very crisp and the shrimp was great. The overall experience was very good. Once again I cannot have too much emphasis on how great my waiter was.

If you like catfish and all the fried stuff that goes with it, this is the place. The thin cut is crispy and full of flavor. The coleslaw is creamy and sweet as the sweet potato fries that fill up your plate. Don't expect to leave hungry.

Very good catfish! Wasn't so impressed by the almost puréed coleslaw....over all very nice and friendly.....if you are trying to eat healthy or have to control your carbs this is NOT the place to go....veggie selection limited to the coleslaw and turnip greens

You're not going to lose any weight here because Long John Silver's this is not. The restaurant is a charming rustic cabin aesthetic with large to all you can eat fried catfish plates (and a few healthy options too I think, but why bother?). I ordered the regular catfish dinner, and my plate was so piled high with beautiful corn meal fried catfish and hush puppies that I swore I would not eat again in 2014. The collard greens were tasty, and the hush puppies just right. Probably not the best fried catfish I've ever had -- it was on the dry side compared to some that I've had that were more juicy -- but still quite good and an excellent deal in Jackson. My server was sweet as the tea.

The service is usually pretty great. You also get great portions for a great price. From the moment you enter, the hostess, managers, and servers great you with a smile and is warm, courteous, and friendly. I have never had a bad experience here.

The catfish here is very good. It's fried perfectly, not leaving you really greasy. They have the thin and crispy and the regular fillets. Honestly, they seemed the same to us (I got one and my husband got the other). The hush puppies were so good, crispy in the outside and moist in the inside- perfectly cooked. They don't have many side choices, which is bad if you don't like cole slaw or turnip greens. Overall though, I recommend eating here if you want good catfish.

Our son that lives in Hoover,Ala on his way to La. Said he would stop and have lunch ( we live in Madison) I suggest we have lunch at Moss Creek since he could jump back on I-20, he loved it ! Soooo when he came back from La that's where we ate lunch with him again! Good food , good service, ask them when they would open a restaurant in Madison ! The catfish was great! Crispy on the outside and still moist inside. Breading not too thick. One of the few places where I liked the hush puppies. Onion rings are ok, but I do have a bias for beer battered kind and these are not. The ratio of onion thickness to batter could be better. Not a deal breaker though Really glad I came for dinner. Good choice! Super nice people that work there, too.

I was skeptical about trying this restaurant, but decided to give it a try. I really enjoyed the food. I ordered the 4 piece fish and it was plenty of food. The fish was great and the service was too.

I had a short time for lunch and I got my food is less than 15 minutes. The waiter was nice and polite. My first time there. The food was good. The price was average. The table was a little sticky. Overall my experience was nice. I would go back when I have time to relax and don't have to rush off to work.

This food is very salty and mediocre at best. The tartar sauce tasted like onion only. I was with a group and believe we all agreed we will drive 8 miles south next time we want catfish.

Service was very fast, even with a full dining room. Thin and Crispy catfish was excellent. Served with finely chopped cole slaw (not my favorite). Will be back when in area.

Ate here for lunch and I am completely surprised of the fried catfish. It was light, fluffy, crunchy, and quite tasty. The french fries were not greasy and the cole slaw were made the right way, not too dry or too soggy. I had the small plate and the portion is still ample. I also seen some bone-in catfish and shrimp, maybe I'll try it when I go. Again try this place if you are hankering for a good tasting catfish.

The food was great, very friendly staff and good service. If you want some fish and you are near bass pro and the outlet mall definitely must try.

This place just opened about a month ago and I think they're still working out all the kinks. I came here for takeout and ordered the grilled shrimp with baked sweet potato with a side salad. It came with 10 pieces of decent sized shrimp and it was cooked fairly well with a nice seasoning. The baked sweet potato was a little under cooked for my liking. Their biggest mistake was not giving me any plastic utensils! It was very annoying, especially for someone who doesn't live in the area. Luckily the hotel I was staying at had some available.

Should be zero stars.......... Their proud, thin, crispy, fillets were either or not fresh or frozen. They weren't even mediocre. They were awful. A friend ordered a Salisbury Steak and it was a complete joke. There's no doubt in my mind everything on her plate came from either a box or can. What I experienced doesn't qualify as bar food. Very poor excuse of a fish house IMO!

I had the fried catfish and it was very good. As soon as I saw the waitress pass with some onion rings I wish I had ordered them as well, they look amazing, next time. Staff was friendly, food was good and reasonably priced.

Run.... Stay away! This place adds to the so lame... The bar is so slow brings a whole new meaning to I'll be right with you 15 minutes later! The bar tender is a little of 16 years old and dosent have a clue on being a bar tender! Stay away!

Blackened catfish was delicious. Came with shrimp and some delicious sauce on top. Hush pups are a little cold. But everything was tasty and Sara was very charming and friendly and provided great service.

We tried Moss Creek in route to St Louis. It was are only non chain option. We loved it. When you go, order the thin sliced catfish! And make sure to eat the coleslaw. Great service. Fabulous food! We would definitely return, as well as a give it a recommendation.

You should make it a point to stop and have lunch or dinner here! The thin and crispy catfish was awesome. Their fries were not soggy and their gumbo was great.

I love this place ! 4 different choices of catfish, thin an krispy fillet , regular fried fillet , whole fried , or blackened grilled. The coleslaw is very finely cut and made fresh , love the hush puppies and French fries . Also have sweet potato fries . Home made pecan cobbler with ice cream ! Great sweet tea . Excellent service , several TVs to view the game . Large room to host parties . I can't think of a negative thing to say. They have a lunch special for 7.99 which includes your beverage .

Moss Creek Fish House was across the street from our hotel so we walked over. It was a simple dining room with very friendly staff. Our server greeted us promptly and answered our menu-related questions as well as making suggestions. The gumbo was very tasty with a slight touch of heat. My fried shrimp was fresh and slightly breaded. We chose the sweet potato fries which were delicious. We saw many patrons enjoying the fried catfish making me want to come back for my own plateful. Delicious food, friendly employees, and reasonable prices! Who could ask for more?

The thin crispy catfish is great, but lacks the usual southern seasoning. I ordered my food to go because this place is always packed. The staff is very polite and courteous.

They have thin fried catfish. It costs a bit extra, but again, they have thin fried catfish. I don't think I have to say any more. :)

Really tasty. My husband got take out. We split a large thin crispy catfish dinner and large gumbo. The gumbo had plenty of shrimp, sausage, and chicken. The fish was light and crispy. Loved the hush puppies.

Went for lunch. Food was good enough but price was to high. $8 for a small catfish platter (4 pieces of fish each about 3" x 1", about the size of 3 quarters), with fries, hushpuppies, and coleslaw) is not bad, but it costs another $2 for a drink. $10 for a "small lunch" is just to much.

Good food. Catfish light and not fishy. Hush puppies very good meal worth the money

First trip we had here, the burger was not seasoned at all, fries were cold, fish was Luke warm, coleslaw was hideous, and our server was a magician in the fact that she had disappearing mastered. Asked for a manager, never seen them. I emailed Matt, the owner who was very nice and helpful. He offered a meal comp. So with that I decided to give them another shot. This time to go. I ordered the leather chicken apparently, it was unedible, I paid $1.50 more for a salad instead of the coleslaw and it was under water in the container. My "meal comp" ended up costing me $10.90! Asked for tarter sauce got ranch dressing instead! And once again French fries had been chilled obviously! The cashier decided to have a conversation with the manager in front of me about me! I wanted to slap sense in her but I know that I'm In Pearl, so I elected to let it go! Never will be back!!! I recommend that you stay 100 feet away from this building! Food is awful and so is the service!
