Skip all the chain places on the interstate and drive 3 minutes to Harvest Grill. We had a family dinner and we're not disappointed. Prices are reasonable, $20ish plus for entrees, unique selection of appetizers. Chef had a special complementary root vegetable/chili oil spread for our meal. Draft beer would be nice but decent selection of regional beers along with wine and spirits. Only advice is if you use GPS when it says you have arrived look to your right. It is across the street so indexing us wrong.

I've been here once for dinner and once for lunch, and I was much more impressed with the dinner. At dinner I had the sesame tuna, which was just about perfect. Not over cooked or over seasoned. I also enjoyed the dipping sauce they brought out with the bread before the meal. For dessert we ordered s'mores, which were cute with the little steno flame and hand made marshmallows, but didn't taste very good. The service was good and the atmosphere was a little bland but nice, with views of downtown. When I had lunch there several months earlier I was very unimpressed. I ordered a salad specifically because it had avocado in it, which I was craving, and was delivered a big plate of salad greens with maybe a teaspoon of small-diced avocado. The portions of everything else in the salad, besides the greens, were also very small. Like, unbelievably small -- I'm not exaggerating about the teaspoon of avocado. The service was also incredibly slow and not very accommodating that day. The disappointing lunch took place right after the place opened and the yummy dinner was months later, so maybe they just had some kinks to work out. My star rating is based on the second visit.

My husband and I have eaten here at least 4x to give this new restaurant a chance to get better! Unfortunately, every time we went for dinner we always found something wrong over the entire evening. The whole meal was not always bad, sometimes it was the service, then the appetizer or the dessert was not right, or that we could not use our Platinum Amex card (2x) because the merchant machine was not working? And our meals averages over $100 each time!! So what's the problem?? We have met the chef one time and informed our waiter our concerns but it will be a very, very long time before we ever step foot at this restaurant again! To us, Meridian has only 2 good restaurants (Rustler & Weidimens) that are usually consistent with their menus/service, so we were hoping that the Harvest Grill would be a nice addition. I guess we will continue to go to Jackson to enjoy a variety of nice restaurants ......

No place like this around! Hands down the best. if you're looking for a nice dinner with good food. I have been here on numerous occasions for dinner and it has never failed to meet my expectations. The Yellowfin Tuna is my absolute favorite dish. That sesame encrusted tuna steak is cooked to perfection. The tastes of the accompanying ginger soy sauce just makes my mouth water! Also, don't dare leave the restaurant without having the Creole Bread Pudding. I have had various selections from the menu and the food is delicious. For where it is located, it is certainly eclectic in tastes. The service has varied but that was once out the many times I've been since December. All this goes without saying that H, the General Manager, is seriously exceptional!

Stopped for lunch on our way to NoLA. A couple of miles off I20 exit 153 and worth the stop. Had the BLAT and Reuben with Potato Salad and Parm truffle fries. All were good!

Food is pretty darn good, menu is fairly eclectic for this town. Service is variable. Beer selection is ok, but no draft. The biggest complaint is like most restaurants, service is highly variable. You can be one of four tables at lunch and still wait 35 minutes to have orders taken. I do not come for lunch as the two times I have tried, kept me over one hour before the food got to the table. Can not do this on typical lunch break. Dinner is similar. Again, food is pretty darn good, just can't be in a rush to get it.

I'll start by summarizing what is going to be a long review: LONG wait (50 minutes), high prices, mediocre food. Avoid the fish tacos! I was so excited when I saw the announcements about Harvest Grill opening in Meridian. I pulled up the menus online, hoping to find something wonderful there that we can't normally find in Meridian. We love to eat. We love good food. And we avoid chain restaurants. So this new place that claimed "inventive menu" was good news. On Facebook they had over 20 glowing reviews and only 1 less than great, so we made reservations. The restaurant is nicely decorated. I like the art on the wall. Our waiter (wish I could remember his name) was professional. He kept our glasses full and was polite and accommodating. A waitress/hostess was unbelievably rude. It was about 50 minutes between the time we were seated and when we got our food. A 50 minute wait for food in a downtown area that is going to rely heavily on lunchtime business is outrageous. We did have a group of 13 but there weren't that many other diners. My only guess is that they just aren't up to speed yet because they are new but if we had been eating lunch and needing to get back to work, we would have needed our food to go and would have still probably been late. After I wait 50 minutes for food, I expect it to be GREAT! But it wasn't. Out of my group of 13 eating everything from burgers to salads to sandwiches to fish tacos, one said their dish was really good. Nine said, "It was ok." When I asked those 9 if they would eat there again they immediately without hesitation said NO. (Too expensive plus horrible wait for "ok" food." The other three said the food was awful. I happened to be one of the ones with awful food. My son and I both ordered fish tacos. We LOVE fish tacos. We were so excited that there is a place in Meridian serving fish tacos (other than Buffalo Wildwings). The fish tacos are made from..... cobia? Not a fish I am familiar with. But this place is run by a chef trained in classical French cooking and experienced in multicultural cuisines. So he knows how to select a good fish, right? What we learned is that cobia isn't anything like the fish used in normal fish tacos. We expected mild, white, flaky fish. Instead, this was little cubes of grilled firm fish. The little cubes remind me of an old fashioned church lady ham casserole. I would have been ok with that except it tasted awful. It was the strongest fishiest taste I have ever tasted. I was told by a fisherman that the only reason cobia would have had that strong fish taste is if it wasn't fresh. I'm not sure what the problem was but it was bad. The order of fish tacos is 3 tacos but there was just a spoonful of filling in each taco. Basically the filling was enough for one, maybe one and a half, decent tacos. (See photo) There was barely a sprinkle of slaw on it. Come on, cabbage is CHEAP. The chipotle aoili was really great. If only it had been on a taco with a tastier fish and more slaw. Also on the plate was a pile of lettuce, 2 tomato slices, and some onions. We couldn't figure out if we were supposed to cut up the tomatoes ourselves and put them on the taco or what? It looked like it was the "fixings" for a hamburger, not a high price skimpy taco. Dessert: We love dessert. We ordered a bread pudding and Stuffed Haitian French Toast to share between 4 of us. The bread pudding was.... ok. I've had better. As a matter of fact, I had better and cheaper the next day at Weidmann's down the street. The Haitian French Toast was pretty good, but pretty much anything is pretty good with Nutella. One of our diners described it as "over the top". And nobody ate more than a couple bites of it. And what exactly is Haitian about it? I wouldn't make a special trip there for either dessert. So, in summary..... this is the first fish taco I have ever met that I didn't like. I didn't finish the order, and that is the first time I have ever not finished a fish taco. I stopped and got altoids a few hours later because the taste of that fish didn't go away for many hours. YUCK. And a 50 minute wait! If you are going to charge "fancy" restaurant prices, you'd better step up and make the food better. I really don't think I'll ever go back there again unless a bunch of people I know and trust tell me that they have eaten there and the food has improved.

Delicious lunch! We ordered the rocket salad with ahi tuna, it was delicious and impressive. The artichoke/chicken flatbread pizza was delicious and hot. We got a side of the jalapeño Mac and Cheese and ate every bite. For dessert we tried the sorbet plate. 4 little scoops of watermelon, raspberry, banana and my favorite blackberry sorbet. I won't forget this little gem of a place. Check in here and you will be totally happy. Thanks Harvest Grill, hats off to you. P.s nice wait staff, no disappointments at all.

Went here or lunch a while back. The prices were reasonable and the service was great. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. There wasn't much of a crowd during the lunch hours. The BLATS was delicious, and this is coming from someone who is not crazy about avacados. My dad enjoyed a burger and my mom tried the fish tacos and loved them, and she has never wanted to try fish tacos until we came here. I will warn that if you don't like spicy food much this might not be the best place. A lot of their stuff has spicy seasonings in them, but all in all, it is all good place to go out to eat if you want to go downtown.

I recently traveled to Meridian, MS for business, and on the first day, the company I was meeting with had lunch brought in from Harvest Grill. When I first saw the menu to make my selections, I knew I was in for a treat. Not just sandwiches and typical lunch fare, I had to decide between the dozens of hot and cold gourmet sandwiches, the fish tacos, and even quinoa cups. I finally settled on the Harvest Veggie on marbled rye and the homemade waffle chips. Oh my goodness, what a treat. Freshly grilled veggies, soft but pleasantly firm marbled rye, and delicious basil and balsamic... really one of the best veggie sandwiches I've ever had. And then the homemade waffle chips... I scarfed those down before I even finished the sandwich. For take-out, it was nicely presented and still warm. Next time I'm in Meridian, I look forward to eating in the actual restaurant.

I was really excited for this restaurant to open, at first. But, it honestly seems like all of the menu here has one ingredient too many that absolutely ruins the dish, and their only "local" touch to the food seems to be the addition of either tomatoes, mayonnaise/aioli, or both, to pretty much everything. Avoid, dinner especially. If you do find yourself here, stick to the burger. And for Pete's sake, stop slathering mayonnaise on everything.
