My husband and I go to this restaurant as a date night ritual. The large specialty rolls do not disappoint. They have such a nice, warm vibe with pretty cool tunes, not the average oriental kind. One of my favorite things they do is give you a nice warm hand towel to wash up that smells heavenly!

This place was awesome by far the best sushi place we have gone to in this area... they have much more traditional sushi then any place we have been to so far they don't put a ton of sauce all over everything and the wish was really fresh and cut correctly... I loved everything we had, I tried their Wasabi white tuna it was really good and interesting looking the presentation wa outstanding our sever was a sweet young girl... we mostly ordered their sushi the sweet shrimp was great and the uni was amazing and fresh..loved this place

We eat here at least once a week and always have a great experience! Our favorite appetizers are the Golden Oysters & the Tuna Sunset and our favorite rolls are the Pink Lady, Phoenix Tail & Angel. Loads to choose from...extensive menu!

Haven't had a bad roll yet, third time going while TDY. The rolls are massive and they taste great! Wish I had one of these to go to back in Ft Walton! Really nice staff as well!

I do not know why this place is not rated 5 star! I always get the rainbow roll with boiled shrimp instead of crab meat cause I'm allergic to most artificial seafood and they NEVER disappoint. Best sushi on the coast hands down...They also have a huge variety of sauces. Yummy in my tummy

Mango tuna and spicy tuna rolls were great. The lunch specials were pretty reasonably priced, but service was meh and the ambiance was pretty good. I'd return here to try it again and to try a few more rolls.

Phoenix rolls or Bomb Bombs are my favorite when @ Samurai. Typically I'll come to this location during lunch for their Lunch Bento Box which is more than enough food for the price. Also offers a military discount.

I was knocked-out; Totally blown away. Warm wet hand towels. Expansive menu, reasonable prices, well-portioned. Our server, Whitley, was amazing! We were a party of six, yet every single item, from water with and without lemon, sweet and unsweetened teas with and without lemon, as well as, every appetizer and entree was served to person that ordered it! Absolute perfection in every way! Easily worth a two-hour drive!

Surprisingly good sushi. The restaurant is HUGE and so is the menu. The staff is friendly and the sushi bar is just as big as their hearts.....aaaawwww, shucks. But all kidding aside, this seasoned sushi fan is appreciative of the the fact that the wait-staff will go out of their way for you to come back! Love it!

Wonderful. I came here for a quick bit and I really like their set-up. Can't complain, everything here was well made and delicious! Thanks Samurai!

This place was fantastic! Although they're pretty expensive, I'm looking forward to coming back! Excellent sized rolls, unique options, and great service!

The sushi is amazing, but the price can be a little on the high side. Always good service and clean bathrooms. We enjoy eating here on a regular basis.

Not a very happy experience at Samurai. The waitress Kim o9n 7/23/15 at 5:42:46 PM was not happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. We had never been to Samurai before and the menu was not self explanatory. The food we did order tasted good but I have had better. The quantity of food for the price is a little steep. We will be seeking better service and better prices for our money somewhere else when ever we decide to eat Japanese Cuisine again. I believe that 5 coconut shrimp for 9.95 is way too much, along with the over priced food we ordered was The soft Shell Crab app. two very small soft shell crabs for 8.95 then we ordered the land and sea combo it was 17.90, and the land teriyaki dinner it was 16.95. like I said the food tasted good but the portions was so small. I also got 1 samurai roll and it was 10.95. Just way to expensive if you ask me. Then when it was time to leave the waitress acted like we were scum because we handed her cash and asked for the change back because my husband had already had her tip in his other hand. Well, after acting in the manner as she did to my husband, I told him to hold back 10 dollars from her tip. We only gave her 10, dollars for a tip. I don't care either. She better be glad we gave her that much. I just believe that this place although very nice in atmosphere is asking way to much for their food and as for their servers... I won't be back again there that is for sure, all thanks to a snotty Japanese woman treating us as if we were the scum of the earth.

I had the sashimi salad and the Gulfport roll. They were awesome. Service was outstanding. What a great place and it was in a strip mall.

Hawaiian roll. Coconut shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, mango slices, and pineapple cream sauce on top. one of the BEST sushi rolls I've ever had.

This is a great restaurant, during my last project, I was able to make this my place to go when I was in town for business. The sushi is very tasty, they offer also Asian cuisine, yet me being a sushi lover, narrows this matter. For what I got to love this restaurant is their variety of sauces. You get a plate of about 6 different sauces, from hot and spicy to mild, yet all of them do complement the sushi they offer. This place is good for lunch and dinner alike. If I ever get to stay in town, my project concluded, I'll go back to it. You get a great value for the money you spend, that's for sure.

One of the best sushi places along the MS coast. It is a bit expensive for dinner so deduction of 1 star. The quality is really good! I did not find their rice to be "uncooked" or "mushy" from other reviews. They give you fairly large rolls. UPDATE*** Tried again for take-out, the quality still remains high. The biggest complaint was Sonni's poor customer service when he was at the bar. Zero manners and eye contact!

I would give this place 0 stars if I could! I took my kids (9 and 14 mths) to eat there tonight. First of all, you cannot get fried rice as a side unless you order a certain meal. You pay over $11 for fried rice (it's either white rice or chicken rice). My son had the kids steak and the baby and I had chicken with fried rice. My food took FOREVER to get to the table...my son was finished for 15 minutes before mine arrived. I took one bite of the rice and it was nasty! My 14 mth old spit it out as well. I also took one bite of the chicken and I was done. Even the yum yum sauce was nasty. I told the waitress how bad my food was and she saw I only ate one bite, yet the RUDE manager had to come talk to me!! I could see someone eating half their plate and saying they didn't like it, but I took one bite! She was hateful to me and tried to tell me no one has ever said that before. Umm...hello! Read your reviews! She also had a few eye rolls and lip smacks for me! According to one waitress, this is how she treats any customer who complains! It's a good thing I didn't eat more because my 9 year old is sick as a dog throwing up among other things. Had I seen the B the restaurant is given and that they handle food without gloves after it is prepared, we would have walked out. Stay away from this place!!

Great sushi joint! Must try the BBQ Squid and Shumai as appetizers. For your entree, try the bomb bomb roll, spicy scallop roll, and the crunchy roll. If you're in the mood for soup try the Nabi Yaki Udon. My husband and I eat here all the time and have enjoyed it every time!

Best sushi in the area. Great environment. If you like coconut shrimp, I recommend the Hawaiian role!

I do not even eat sushi. I met my wife at the D'Iberville location for lunch one day, and had a really good experience. Although I still do not eat sushi, they have plenty for me, my favorite is the beef teriyaki. And my wife love the crunchy roll and the soft shell roll. The atmosphere is quiet (until we bring our 3 kids)... The service is good and the prices aren't too bad. Overall this is great place for the whole family or a nice dinner.

I went there for lunch today with a party of 5. All of us got sushi rolls and one sashimi bento box. The rolls were better than most sushi places I've visited, but for the price I was impressed. Between the five of us, we had 8 rolls and the bento box and the bill was less than $60. We really enjoyed the food, and the different dipping sauces they brought to the table. Not sure what they all were, but there was spicy mayo and almost like a sriracha sauce. The ambiance was great too. Place was very well decorated and we'll maintained. The wait staff was were quick and prompt with everything we ordered.

Prices were fair and the sushi was better than I expected. I plan on eating here again and would recommend it to friends.

This place is better than the Samurai in Gulfport hands down. The restaurant is decorated better, the service, staff, and food all 100% better than Gulfport, so if you were deciding on which one to go to, and whats the difference, don't think, just come here. With that being said, I was born and raised in Japan, so when I come to restaurants such as these, I expect good American influenced Japanese-esque food. This restaurant did not disappoint. My husband and his brother typically order the tempura chicken and I ordered the vegetable tempura. The sauce they give is more of a teriyaki sauce which was too overpowering for me. Their rolls are always a decent size but their fish is not fresh like i'd like it to be. It does leave a slight fishy after taste which is odd. For the price, The portions are southern sized (pretty big) and I'm always left feeling very full. While this place isn't my first choice for food or dinner, it is a good restaurant to get that asian food fix! Plus you can't beat that its near target!

Horrible experience!! A woman found hair in her soup, got terribly sick and no one from the restaurant even went to the restroom to check on her. When I got to the restroom the lady was visibly ill and bent over the toilet on the floor. And I passed 2 employees to get the the restroom to check on the lady, simply because I hear her from my table..ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM!! I asked our server what happened and they blamed the hair in her soup on the lady and the funniest thing of all was..they boxed her food up for her while she was in the restroom!!! The server even stated that the lady got louder when I went in to check on her but she wasn't even aware that I was in the restroom because her head was in the toilet!! Now for the food.. The chicken looked like fish, the shrimp was bland and the sushi was room temperature. No need to ever visit this place again...

Definitely one of my favorite sushi places on the Coast! I love the Hawaiian roll, it brings me back here. Food is definitely good but there are some issues with service, or at least during our last visit. We arrived during lunch time and were seated. We waited for almost 15 minutes and still no one approached our table. After seeing tables that were seated after us being served, we got up and walked out. I spoke with the hostess and told her why we were leaving but she didn't seem overly concerned. As much as I do enjoy their sushi, service is very important to me especially at their prices. They are not one of the cheaper sushi restaurants in town, the service must also go along with those higher prices. We will have to give it some time to see if we give them one more shot with a return trip

We sat at our table for 15 minutes waiting for a server. Another table sat down 10 minutes after us and had a waiter walk right past us to take their order. We left. It's a shame because we were ready to spend money.

Love this place! I used to come here years ago and while the decor has changed somewhat, it's still a beautiful restaurant-a few of the people with me made comments on the pretty decor- and the food is still amazing. I brought my family here for lunch last week. We were a group of 8 which seemed to be a surprise for the host and waitress but we got a table pretty quickly and the service was very fast. We got a few apps (shumai, edamame and calamari) and all were prepared perfectly and well portioned. Since most of my family is scared of sushi, we had a pretty diverse selection of food from tempura, teriyaki, sushi, and fried rice. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals; I particularly enjoyed the spicy scallop. The entree portions were large and everything tasted fresh. My embarrassing family members (many of whom were trying to learn how to use chopsticks to eat FRIED RICE) had a lot of questions for the waitress who was visibly trying to stay patient. She was a bit snippy but the other waiters around were much friendlier so I won't hold it against the place. Overall, you have to give this place a try!

I had enjoyed going here as I like Japanese Food and Sushi. However, I was particularly fond of they tempura chicken here and the amount of food for the price but I had what seemed to be a bad batch of chicken. I might give them another try but every time I see the restaurant now, I immediately remember the chicken and pass them over for something else. I will eventually give them another try and update this review.

Went back for the second time today and it was a repeat of my first visit. The service was not good- no drink refills, mumbling disinterested waiter and the rolls that I ordered ( tuna) did not taste particularly fresh....bad after taste. It's reasonably priced- but if you leave 2/3 of the roll on the table because of taste...then what good is price?

My husband and I have been in Biloxi for two months for his military training and we've been living in a hotel. Therefore, we've had a lot of chances to eat out. We've eaten here three times already and we plan on coming at least one more time before we leave. I'm not a fan of raw fish but Samurai has a great variety of cooked items along with its raw choices. You must try the Hawaiian Roll. It is one of the best things I've ever tasted in my life. The crispy coconut shrimp and cream cheese go so well together, and who doesn't love fresh mango and avocado on top? Some other favorites are the Rock n'Roll and the Shrimp Avocado. My Husband loves the Tuna Mango roll, too but that one is raw, so I haven't tried it. There's so much variety in their menu items and the prices really are great. There are some rolls that are less than 6 bucks, but some more fancy rolls can be from 13 to 15 bucks. We ordered too much our first visit, but I didn't mind because I got to have left overs the next day. The atmosphere is great and so is the service. Every time we've come we haven't had to wait that long and everything comes out looking beautiful. They take real pride in their product and that goes a long way with me. Bottom line... eat here.

Well we decided to eat here when everywhere else had at least a 45 minute to an hour wait, and it was probably one of the worst mistakes we had made. First off we sat and waited for our server to make an appearance, so then our hostess took the initiative and had to take our drink and food orders(best part of night). Then 20 mins or so passed after the 20-30mins waiting for our server and drinks etc. So after a hour had passed we finally got our appetizers..... and then about 15 minutes later we got our main dish(wasn't bad timing on that) come to realize they didn't put in our friends food order all together.... another 15 mins for fried rice which takes just a few minutes and one of the three rolls..... by this time we were so fed up with the waiter barely making an appearance, not being attentive, not even apologise until the very end when we told him we didn't want the last 2 rolls anyway and we wanted the check. He then proceeded to try to bring them anyway, and charge us for them! We then immediately told him to take them away before he could set them down and that we wanted the check with those rolls off. I really hate to be the person who doesn't tip a server but I didn't because he didn't deserve it we gave it to the host because she was the best part of our night, keeping our drinks filled!

This samurai and the one in Gulfport are like night and day. Server was great! Sushi was delicious! Atmosphere was wonderful! Needless to say I will ONLY go here from now on. Gulfport needs to get it together

Nice interior. Staff seems cool and classy. Food was pretty good. Had the typical salad and miso soup. The Bento Box with chicken Katsu was good.

It had the feel of an expensive restaurant, but the prices weren't that bad. I don't like sushi, so I ordered the Fish Tempura. The presentation of the food was great and the fish and sides were very tasty. I plan to go here again in the future!

I would rate this place higher if I had a chance to eat here. They close at 1030pm and they do not advertise a last call for seating. Well anyhoo I go in at 1010 and was turned away and I told them they weren't even closed yet. So had to take my business elsewhere. I'll possibly rate it higher if I get a chance to actually dine in.

From the moment I walked in with my girlfriend I was greeted by a not so friendly hostess, she told us there was a 20 min wait (due to it being Friday night at 7:30) which was fine, i glanced over at the sushi bar and saw 2 available seats. I then asked her if it was okay if we sat at the sushi bar, she instantly told us that there no more room at sushi bar and that we'd have to wait. After about 10 mins we were sat down and immediately brought warm towels to clean our hands with, after looking through their extensive menu, we both decided to order several pieces of sushi Nigiri (yellow tail, white tuna and sweet shrimp to be precise) as well as the Di'berville roll. When we were brought our food I was marveled at the size of cuts of fish, they were larger than normal which was pleasing to see. After taking my first bite, I couldn't help but notice the amount of rice that was paired with fish, thinking this was maybe a mistake, I continued to eat my fish. As I showed my girlfriend she also agrees there was far too much rice, so I began taking about 3/4 of it off and just eating the fish. The rice was also disgusting, it wasn't fresh, it was completely dry and lacked any sort of stickiness whatsoever (I believe they didn't use the traditional sticky rice vinegar) as I moved onto my yellow tail, I couldn't help but notice the chef didn't or forgot to cut the skin off the fish. I've eaten sushi all over the nation and this was the first time a sushi chef neglected to cut off the tough, shiny fish skin. After being completely disgusted, we ordered a spicy tuna roll and a spicy scallop hand roll. The spicy tuna roll had a TON of dry old rice and barely any fish, the only pleasant thing I are was the spicy scallop hand roll. I would not recommend coming here if you like sushi. I won't be returning.

This is the Best Sushi on the coast. Love the Naruto Roll!! So good and comes with it's own sauce which makes it even better. We've always sat in the bar area, the bar-tender is awesome! Makes great drinks. The bar area has three large flat screen TVs which are great if your a sports fan. Go to Samurai, you won't be disappointed.
