There aren't a lot of (good) mexican options here on the coast. For the price and the quality of the food, El Bosque is about as good as it gets. I ordered the Bosque Burrito and man was it good! Very large and filling. And the food came out incredibly fast! (Almost scarily so, haha.) This isn't top tier- mexican cuisine, but for what it is meant to be and compared to relative options, it certainly warrants the high score. There were a few odd things in regards to upcharges...for example, to have my burrito come out grilled is $1.00 upcharge? This doesn't cost them anything extra or require a change in quality of ingredients, so I found this puzzling. Also, to swap your steak/chicken for ground beef is also a $1.00 charge, which makes no sense given that is a downgrade in meet quality. But really, these up charges are a moot point given that even WITH the upcharge the meals are still cheaper or right on par with other locations nearby. This place is VERY affordable! And probably my favorite part was the horchata. I have horchata everywhere I go and have acquired quite the palette and I will tell you that this was one of the best glasses of horchata I have ever had. Might not mean anything to most, but I wanted to through it out there! Good food, good price, the only thing that could be improved is the quality of service, but since it wasn't BAD service I feel no need to dock the score. Enjoy!

Average food, not the best service. And the portions are small for as much as charge. The deluxe / super burrito was what I'd expect for a normal burrito, but without the toppings and sides. Oh, and indoor smoking allowed. Which makes it bad for kids and anyone with a nose.

The food is good the drinks are good but it is too dang loud. I liked the food every time I have been but I can not stand the loud people and the loud rude people that allow their kids to run, scream and cry in the restaurant. I would love to find a place that was kid free (Less than 10) or even a section that is kid free. I sit in the smoking sections to try to limit the children running and screaming but seem this place allows smoking all around. Since the noise level is so bad I have had to limit my visits. The wait staff is nice and efficient and the food is good. Not great but hey it is good. They have generous portions.

Pretty darn good. The place was packed for lunch & still got our food really quick. Which leads me to believe that a lot of the food is pre made. Still though for the price & great drink specials all day not bad. They also have a salsa bar which isn't bad. I think it had 8 different kinds. The highlight of my meal believe it or not was the refried beans. Dinner is apparently much better than lunch so I will have to give this place another shot.

Still a fan - it's pretty much our "go-to" "Mexican" place on the coast. No, it's not absolutely traditional _Mexican_, but it is pretty darned good "Tex-Mex"/"Gringo Mexican" and especially for the coast area. In fact, I'm bumping it to 5 stars -- mostly because of the location on the MS coast -- it is about as good as it gets around the coast (there are a couple of others that are as good, but not many). For example, the Chile Rellenos here are Poblanos stuffed with cheese and deep-fried - pretty standard for the US if not absolutely traditional, but most places on the coast serve stuffed bell peppers with "nacho cheese" poured over it (and some of them are pretty good, but it's not _chile rellenos_). They also make a coctel de camerones (Mexican shrimp cocktail) that ranks as good as anything at similar restaurants anywhere in the US (and really, at many Mexican places, too). I've never understood, with our shrimp here, why all "Mexican" places on the coast don't do so, but maybe most locals don't like it as we do. And they also have a "salsa bar" with some more traditional-ish salsas and condiments on it. Bottom line, IMO, if you don't at least try this place, you are missing out on "Mexican" on the coast.

This placed is too hyped, it was less than ok. Although I didn't care for it, my husband enjoyed it.

The food was pretty good. I recommend the Sauteed chicken chimichanga...unfortunately, they allow smoking in their restaurant, which made the entire ordeal impossible to enjoy.

I tried this for lunch yesterday and as far as authenticity goes the food is o.k. The tomatoes in the salsa taste like its out of a can (As it does at all the mexican restaurants on the Coast), but at least they didn't pour cheese sauce all over everything. The staff is friendly and will remember your face and their is plenty of room and parking. The prices are moderate and the servings tend to run on the heavy size. They offer two for one margaritas daily and live music on Saturdays!

I love this place. They have the most amazing queso dip I have ever tried. The people are very friendly, and the setting is a bit chilly, but that applies to almost all places for me. They are a bit disorganized when it comes to pricing though, just remember to take a good look at your check!

Service was ok, margs 1.50 on Monday's and Thursdays. I had chile relleno and a chicken taco. The food was good but not great. My meal was cheap but a lot of the items on the menu will set you back $10 plus. I recommend this place for sharing an appetizer (queso, everyone says its excellent) with the 1.50 margs on the select days. The staff was friendly and the waitress could have been a little more attentive but she was alright.

This was my first time at El Bosque at their new location on Central Ave. in D'Iberville. This location has been newly re-modeled and is more spacious than the last location. Our server was very fast bringing chips and salsa and taking drink orders immediately. The chips were fresh but the salsa could have used a little more pica de gallo and the drinks came in huge mugs. I settled on the beef and bean burrito and chicken quesadilla and my partner opted for the steak fajitas. My burrito was stuffed with an ample portion of beef and the quesadilla had fresh cheese and chicken. My partners steak was basically skirt steak which was good but coulda used a little seasoning. What I really love at El Bosque was the lunch prices which were very reasonable and more than both of us could finish for around 20 dollars. Definitely a hit if your in the neighborhood and seeking fresh food at reasonable prices.

Best Mexican food I've had so far in biloxi. I'm not a big fan of Mexican food in general though so its not like I go looking for it often but the prices are cheap portions are large and you get free salsa and queso with your chips as well as a free serve it urself station with other great dips. Food isn't anything spectacular but it is pretty darn good!!

Fajitas are always good but the real winner is the Bosque burrito. Huge portion of over stuffed burrito with chicken beef beans and rice. Topped with lots of cheese and chili sauce.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
