I'd seen several Dickey's locations around town and thought that it was an over-hyped chain. However, when I stopped in for dinner I was very surprised and pleased! You order at the counter and they cut and plate your order in front of you (if you can see over the 5 foot counter). The prices are extremely affordable, and you get free ice cream soft serve! I tried their 2 meat plate which comes with two sides and a roll: pulled pork, polish sausage, green beans, and baked beans. The pulled pork was tender and moist, the polish sausage was flavorful and moist as well, the green beans were fantastic, and the baked beans were sweet and heavenly. The shear amount of food options they have make it hard to choose, but with how good everything was the first time, it shouldn't take long to visit enough to try everything.

Sunday arrival and it's busy. Can I say it one more time? Sunday arrival and it's BUSY. The wait line is long and tables are dancing. Guess this is definitely the place to come for a family Sunday lunch. It's 1245pm. Or it could be a Sunday special happening at the counter. Don't know cause I'm not there yet but can see it from a distance. . Okay my favorite is always ribs. Love both their regular and spicy bbq sauce. Each time I have had the ribs I must admit they were on the fatty side. More fat than meat. But that's what gives the flavor, however I would enjoy more meat and tone down the fat a bit. As for sides I only like the Potato casserole, Waffle fries or Caesar salad. Everything else was a little off my charts and either too sweet or too oily or not enough flavor. I will get this to go cause there are no tables and it's raining outside. Going for the 1 meat plate. I love BBq so I will be back.

I know......I know it's a chain restaurant but on my first visit it was damn good. When I first got to the counter I told the attendant that it was my first visit and he recommended the Monday special of the day which was the pulled pork sandwich with two sides and a drink for $8.99. I got the "home style" beans and loaded potato casserole with extra cheese and chives as sides. The drink was a plastic souvenir 20 something ounce drink, they serve pelletized ice! Once I made it to the condiment area, there was a choice of self serve warmed bbq sauces in sweet, spicy, and plain flavors. I customized mine and mixed the sweet and spicy sauces together, they also had white onion and dill picked available. The meal was good with very little fat on the pulled pork. The bbq sauce was a little watery but had a good flavor. I would rank it in the top 4 places of bbq joints I have eaten at. And I love bbq, so this joint ranked pretty high. When I was done I ordered 48oz of baked beans and 48oz of potato salad for a Christmas party we will be attending later on today. They also offer family sized plates, full catering, and online orders which you can pickup at your convenience. Oops I forgot they also serve free soft serve ice cream in a sugar cone. Judging by the 3 year old that sat on the next table over..... it tasted good. Angie and Ashley both Yelp Elites said it was good and legit.... I concur with them. I'll be back!

I had the pork sandwich with okra and salad. If I'm in the area next time I'll try the ribs. The best part about eating here this location has a self serve ice cream dispenser! Ice cream after barbecue yummy!!!

Really good food. I had a sandwich with sausage and pulled pork. Pretty bland without the sauce but the sauce makes it. Pretty expensive unless you get the special.

Came here on a recommendation from a co-worker. Had the smokehouse salad with the brisket. Man it was good! It's a simple salad with brisket, but it really is great. The one thing I'd suggest is to be a little more generous with the brisket. Also had a great experience with the staff, from the young guy that took my order, the lady that made my salad was nice and so was the lady that rang me up! I also had a quick chat with Chase (seems like he's the manager) as he came around to see if all was ok...nice fella as well. I'll definitely visit again:-)

This is the best Dickey's Barbeque Pit. The meat is true barbeque and tastes smoky even without barbeque sauce. I like all three of the sauces; sweet, original or spicy. I've been here multiple times. Other Dickey's restaurants should take note, because this one is the best.

I came here for the first time for lunch today. I didn't dislike it, but neither did I find it amazing. To me it was just your basic BBQ joint - nothing special and nowhere near the best on the coast (that's crazy talk...go somewhere local). The price was decent for the 2 meat plate I got ($11 plus a drink price) and I did get a good bit of food. I got brisket and pulled pork. I found both to be overly salty, but the brisket was perfectly cooked and crispy so it was the highlight of the meal. My Mac and cheese was bland (wish I'd grabbed the S&P shakers) but the beans were nice - not your typical mushy baked beans but rather firm BBQ flavored beans. The roll was to small though it tasted good. I'd rather have a couple pieces of white bread, personally. I got the sweet BBQ sauce (I am from the south) and was disappointed. It was more tangy than sweet, and bit more than necessary. But I will say the sweet tea was really good, so there's that. If you're in the promenade, hungry, and want BBQ go for it. If not, don't go out of your way for it. There are much better places in Gulfport or Ocean Springs/Vancleave.

Been here several times in the last couple months. Service is mediocre, often the employees behind the counter are more interested in talking to each other than actually interacting with customers. The smoked meat is decent, although I don't particularly care for their sauces. I enjoy a vinegar based barbeque sauce much more than this overly - sweet sauce. Even the "hot" sauce us far too sweet in my opinion. The fried okra is decent, but the potato salad is terrible. I am admittedly VERY picky about potato salad, but I really thought this mayonnaise-y potato salad that is LOADED with dill was a travesty.

I like their BBQ but I have had better. The price is a little high for what you get. The cheddar jalapeno sausage is good. This is a chain so the taste is pretty uniform from place to place. I have noticed they tend to be located in strip malls lately in small spaces. This one is larger than the one in Flowood MS but smaller than the building in Hattiesburg.

Alright, my first visit on opening day was just ok. I figured I'd give them another shot, and wow! Way better tasting food, way friendlier service, just all around fantastic! I will definitely come back to enjoy some of the greatest BBQ in southern MS

I went here last night with my family. The service is awesome! The owner greeted us at the door, checked on us at the table, and thanked us for coming SEVERAL times. The food was also great. We had pulled pork sandwiches, brisket, and ribs. Usually in BBQ joints the meat is great and the sides suck. Not the case here! The meat was so tender it literally falls apart when you pick it up. I had baked beans and coleslaw which were also tasty. I love the variety of sauces. They even offered non BBQ kid meal options which is a problem I face often with my picker eater child. Will most definitely return again!!

Been here twice and am I'm so happy to have a good BBQ place close to the house! So many ways to get your Q fix. Whether its a plate on a roll or by the pound you will get your fix. So far I've only had the pulled pork and brisket so I'll update once I've had my fill of those. The pulled pork is fantastic. So succulent and tasty. The brisket (which you should always get chopped) was also top notch. They had a choice of three different BBQ sauces you can have sweet, normal, or spicy. Normal vas nice but I'm a spicy freak so thats where my money goes. Sides are what you expect at a BBQ place. Both the baked and jalapeño beans are an A but I give low marks to their potato salad. It was just not anything to write home about. The baked potato casserole was good. Wait staff is friendly and prompt to help you out. Manager or somebody usually walks around asking how things are which is always a plus. Only gripe i have is this place gets crazy busy at lunch. Will definitely add it to the lunch time rotation!

Okay...this is reviewing my first ever visit, so bare with me. We rolled in at peak lunch time. The wait wasn't too long, and you can look over everyone while they eat (it's fun to be creepy, right?) or you can try to see the menu to figure out what the hell you want to stuff your face with. The smell is GREAT when you walk in! A two meat combo will set you back 11 bucks, which aint bad. I went with pulled pork and brisket. My sides were the bbq beans and potato salad. My lady got the sandwhich with two meats on it (forgot the name)..pulled pork and sausage, beans and the baked potato salad. You also get a little roll, but whoever served it pushed their finger in mine, so it had a dimple. Kinda lame but whatever. Also, it was loud enough that we couldn't hear the dude taking our order very well, so we had to repeat it 2-3 times. We grabbed a seat and dug in. I like how there are three different sauces to choose from, and you can get as much as you want.I like a lot of sauce, so don't judge me if you see me doing shots of it. NOM NOM NOM. I had the OG sauce. It was good...if you don't know where to start, try that. The meats were good...not too greasy. My potato salad was just OK but the beans were great! Between them and the OG sauce, I was sweating a little. But then again, Im a fatass so I sweat just thinking about walking to the car. Anyways, I tried some of my lady's sandwich and it was pretty darn good too. The hoagie roll it came on was tasty. The baked pot salad was OK, but kinda needed salt, IMO. Also, free ice cream is a nice touch! All in all, we will be back. With THE SHED's food declining rapidly in quality, and that dumb show they tried to pull off, we will be coming here more and more!

Yummmmmm! Fresh food at a fair price. I got the 3 meat plate so I could try a variety and the pulled pork is by far the best I've had. They also have the best side dish variety Ive seen.

The wait here is ridiculous, it pre-cooked BBQ and all y'all have to do it serve it. I seriously had to wait 30 mins to finally order. The problem is the guy that cuts the meats are soooo slow, my grandmother can do a faster job. Get it together please ! Overall the food is decent, the turkey and sides were good. But just don't get the bone dry brisket or ribs. Well I can expect too much from an franchised restaurant.
