Best steak in the state of Mississippi! Come here often and like the atmosphere almost as much as the steaks!

Steak was good but the service was less than mediocre. I don't expect doting from a waitress, but a smile and a welcoming attitude should be mandatory in this price range. Texas Toast was only cooked on 1 side, and partially burnt anyway. Couldn't read the bill as it was printed up on a lil calculator that was out of ink. At least the steak and the big baked potatoes were good. I realize these are small complaints but at this price range it should be a dinner of good food AND good service. We discussed it after our dinner and next time we will just pay a lil more and go to Ruth Chris steakhouse or Folks Folly.

As good a restaurant-cooked steak you'll get anywhere. Ask for the 32 oz. bone-in ribeye. It's off the menu. Good service. Casual dining.

Anyone who has listened to an Ole Miss sports broadcast has obviously heard of the famous Como Steak House. After hearing about it for years, some friends asked us to join them on the venture southward with them. The 4 of use were together, & we met 2 others who had already arrived, thank goodness, as the line was almost out the door. The other 2 had evidently arrived 45 minutes earlier, so guess what, they escorted all 6 to our table immediately much to the dismay of everyone we passed. I love the atmosphere, multi-layered, upstairs, this room, that room, basement where we sat. I love the open pits cooking the steaks and the overall atmosphere. I wish their website had there normal menu available, and, not just the oyster bar menu available, why is that I wonder? So, we ordered, no apps as the steaks are huge. I ordered the large bone in ribeye, my wife the large filet, others, large porterhouse to share, chicken, etc. Salads arrived promptly and were good. So, let's get to the main course, the steaks. I have to say, my oversize ribeye was just so-so. I expected more flavor out of it. I was slightly disappointed in it overall. I tasted my wife's filet and it was much better than my ribeye. As I was exploring the fire pit area, I noticed a chef seasoning the heck out of steak, and putting what looked like garlic butter on it. Yum. Perhaps my steak was cooked on the other grill? For the overall steak experience - Flavor, price, tenderness, I have to say the ribeye at Side Porch in Bartlett is better. That being said, I do look forward to coming back & getting the filet next time. If you like Como S.H., try Crawdad's in Merigold MS, similar atmosphere, excellent steaks.

Bottom line. This is an old fashioned No-frills Steakhouse. They serve a salad & a bake potato as a side. Nothing Else. The Main Attraction IS the Steak. Honestly why else would you go to a steakhouse. Wife took me here for my birthday. Building is on main street in a 19th century building. Evidently there can be quite a wait on weekends so its recommended you visit the Oyster Bar upstairs. The first thing that struck me was the pictures of various breeds of cattle framed up around the restaurant. It let me know this establishment took there beef seriously and the menu didn't disappoint with over 12 or so cut of steak to choose from. The second thing that struck me was the wood & charcoal grill situated dead center in the restaurant. It this age of Outback Steakhouses & seared steaks when's the last time you had a good ol charcoal cooked steak. I ordered the t-bone, my wife the rib eye. Both were cooked perfectly & the favor was amazing. All & all we had a great experience here, the only reason I'm not awarding 5 stars is that the service was a bit touch & go. Also our bill was totaled up on an adding machine rather than on a one that would allow us to see our purchased items (invest in an aloha system owners!)

Best steak for miles around. Just melts in your mouth. Waitress worked her tail off. Great job!

I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of the hostess, she must be family. Bad impression. As for the food, steak is cooked just right each time, really nice cuts of meat, loaded baked potato is fabulous, salad ok last one I had was floating in water which was gross, but most of the time below average, but edible. Very casual. Hard to get in on weekends unless your early. Watch out for hostess she rides a broom.

Their steaks are awesome and very reasonably priced. The meat quality is very high standard. You get a salad and potato as well as a piece of Texas toast which makes for a great meal. The fried pickles are awesome as well as all their desserts. We drive almost an hour here from Memphis about once or twice a month!

I got the filet mignon and it was the best steak I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly and was very tender. It came with a salad and a baked potato. I got the homemade blue cheese dressing which was delicious and the loaded baked potato was one of the best potatoes I've ever tried (probably due to the butter). If you are in the Memphis area this steak house is 100% worth the drive! Will definitely be returning!

My review is of the oyster bar upstairs. I have eaten downstairs at the steakhouse and didn't care for it, but never ventured upstairs. Last night we did and I wish I hadn't waited so long! What a great experience. We sat outside to begin with on the balcony and enjoyed half a dozen raw oysters. The view is great and the oysters were extremely clean. The wind picked up quite a bit so we moved into the bar for dinner. I had the boiled shrimp with corn and potato's and it was AMAZING! The flavor of the shrimp cooked with the potatoes and corn....gosh it was so good. The ambiance was quaint and cozy and the prices were great! We are definitely going back sometime soon!

I have heard plenty of compliments about Como Steakhouse after spending 3 years in Oxford, MS for law school and visiting my brother while he was also in law school. I had not, however, had the opportunity to visit until last night. It lived up to its reputation as a solid, small town steakhouse. It's simplicity allows it to flexibly function as the perfect setting for a beer and steak with friends or a romantic dinner date. The ambience is comfortable and casual, and complimented by the historic building, old photos, etc. The Stoli martinis at $7 a pop are just as solid and no frills as the restaurant. It was exactly what I was looking for on a hot Mississippi night. I split a 20 ounce ribeye prepared medium-rare with a lady friend. Each entree comes with a side salad and a loaded potato. The bleu cheese dressing was chunky and wonderful. The salad, while simple and small, was fresh. The potato was excellent; stuffed with sour cream, cheese, bacon bits and served wrapped in aluminum foil. The steak was well-marbled and plenty for 2 people. I'm known for having a huge appetite and even I had trouble finishing the meal, and couldn't consider dessert. The service was a bit slow, but in the staff's defense, it was past 9 p.m. and they were plenty friendly. My only regret is not trying the oyster bar upstairs.

Huge steaks of supreme freshness, flavor, and quality. Their steaks are probably THE best in the greater Memphis/North MS area. The only reason they don't get a 5 is because of the no-frills ambience.

Just waited 10 minutes and couldn't even get the hostess to acknowledge we were there. Not the first time either. Always feel like they don't think they need my business. It's a shame too. Could be a nice place to go.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I was at the bar upstairs relaxing with a drink and talking with two attractive woman, then some dick head showed up who knew them. He started talking crap me like he was something special. He didn't like people from the north and since I'm from Iowa he used that against me. IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE OWNERS SON!! HA! He was nothing but a total A Hole acting tough because his daddy owns the place. He had my friends who had nothing to do with it kicked out while they were eating downstairs. He then tried to act tough and act like his friends were holding him back from beating me up. This is all happening while I am just leaning on the bar standing my ground. The skinny D bag had no clue he was messing with a Army Ranger and would have been eradicated! The kid was anything but smart or educated and I'm pretty sure he was just showing off to compensate for his small dick. THE LOCALS sitting at the bar informed me that the owners son does this kind of thing on a regular basis with out of town people. SPEND your $$ at Chilis and not at this steak house in the middle of a crap hole town!

Get there early on an empty stomach. Better than any steak (a thick ribeye) I have ever had anywhere in Memphis or the Midsouth. Period.

We really enjoy our trips to Como steakhouse. It's not too far a drive from Memphis and we make a night out of it. The night starts at the oyster bar upstairs for drinks and appetizers, (oysters, cheese plates) then go downstairs for some great ribeyes (try Pittsburgh style. The steak is flanked by fat and charred on the outside and left rare to medium rare) and huge baked potatoes, then we go sit on the back patio at the bar a few doors down. The place can get very busy on the weekends but it's not a problem for us as we just go upstairs. This little excursion from the city makes a great night but make sure you have a designated driver!

They have some amazing steaks and baked potatoes. The ribeye is by far the best thing they have there along with the sauasge cheese plate. Chris and I are hooked on this place; I took him there back in the summer and now we go about once a month. The oyster bar on the second floor is a great place to hang out while waiting on a table. If you are going Thur-Sun make a reservation!! This place gets packed on the weekends!

I'm just not impressed with this place at all. I've been several times, and my experience has been about the same each time. The steaks are usually a little over-cooked or under-cooked, but still pretty good. The total turn off for me is the lackluster sides. You get a baked potato, and you can even order it loaded, but it will have fake bacon bits. You also get a salad, and it's very plain with mediocre dressing. That's it. No other choices for sides. All of this can be yours for about the same price as a good steak with a good selection of sides from a quality steakhouse. I don't hate this place, and will go if I'm eating with friends that want to go there. I just really prefer a better meal for my money.

This is the place to come if you are in need of the most delicious and enormous steak!!! They have this huge grill in the back that you can observe while the meat is cooking and I want to say they will let you cook your own if you want... but that I'm not 100% on. My theory is... who would do that when someone will cook for you??? This was my second visit and I have still yet to find a reason that I don't just love this place. Granted, from Memphis, it is a small road trip but how better to spend a Saturday than driving through the beautiful countryside!! I have gotten the Fillet on both visits, loaded potato and salad. It's always way more than a girl could eat!! They even have a couple of very nice Merlot s. Even more info... The little Main Street was totally popping on the weekend!! There was a band a couple doors down that sounded pretty good!! Maybe next time for me but I think Como might just be a great little weekend getaway.

I have moved away from Mississippi, but every time I am home I beg for a trip to Como Steakhouse. I've been more times than I will admit and it is WONDERFUL every time - top notch! I actually would love a steak from Como Steakhouse right now, so if someone could ship that on over, I'd appreciate it. The atmosphere is what you expect at a steakhouse, dark and smokey. The prices are also what you would expect. I get the sausage and cheese appetizer plate every time and then a bacon wrapped filet with a baked potato and everything is so good! I love the seasoning they use on the steaks! I recommend it to anyone who loves a good steak!

Como Steak House has great southern atmosphere. The steaks and desserts are exceptional. The restaurant gets crowded on the weekends so come early. There is an oyster bar upstairs that has pretty good drinks and appetizers. I highly recommend the Como Steak House and I plan on eating there next time I am near Como, MS.
