Drive thru review. The drive thru waitress was very nice. And even through the drive thru that southern hospitality showed. I order 3 whole wings which came with biscuit with no bag. But who cares those wings were fresh, warm and ready to eat.

This was my first ever experience with a Sonic, and subsequently, with a Sonic burger. I also really enjoyed ordering from our cars with 25 of my friends- we probably got all the soda-mixology combinations down. Fun and olde timey.

Delicious neighborhood spot serving Italian and seafood. We came here on a recommendation from the Cat Head, and it did not disappoint. The onion rings were incredible and as other reviewers noted, crispy and perfectly fried but somehow not greasy. Unfortunately, they were out of chicken livers, but the veal spaghetti was a yummy alternative. Fantastic red sauce on the spaghetti -- meaty but not too chunky. The spaghetti itself was fine but I prefer my noodles al dente so it wasn't my favorite. The service was fantastic and friendly. Wonderful spot to kick off an evening of blues! Beware: CASH ONLY.
The gold standard in non- greasy fried food this side of the Mississippi. We were so impressed with the quality of the fried food at Ramon's. The onion rings are to die for, as well as many other choices. We had an awesome experience from the excellent food to the excellent service, and great price for the value. As visitors, this will be our most memorable meal over several days in Clarksdale.
Great food especially the grilled catfish.

Shack Up Inn

001 Commissary Cir

Reviews:
Let me preface this by saying that I believe our experience was an isolated indecent. We booked our weekend 3 weeks in advance. Staying in January, you have to expect the whole town to be very slow with not much going on. That was what we were hoping for...A nice quite weekend where reading and hanging out on the porch consumed most of our time. When we got there Friday night, everything seemed to be great. The shack we stayed in was exactly like other posters described. Small, but comfortable. You can tell the detail within the shack included quite a bit thought, and was not just thrown in there to take up space. We had a nice evening that night and we were looking forward to sleeping in, as we both work very hard during the weekdays. Saturday morning was where our nice vacation ended. We woke up at 7AM to a 10 man crew building another shack 20ft away from ours. When I say building another shack....I mean just that, constructing another shack, literally, right next to ours. Hammering and sawing, with construction workers yelling and cursing. I was furious. We had to wait until the front desk was open....8AM....to express our frustration with the situation. Barry, the co-owner was very nice about the problem, and offered many apologies, as well as a reduced rate for our stay. The construction was not going to be halted. He also said that the construction would not stop and that we should expect it to start the same time Sunday morning. There was no staying, as the noise was so loud it was unbearable. We tried to give it a shot, but there was no way we could stand it. I told Barry that anything short of a full refund was absolutely unacceptable. As we were not informed of this when we booked, nor when we checked in the night before. Also, we traveled to stay here, we incurred travel costs. He conceded and offered the full refund. (he really had no choice, it was that bad). When i walked into the lobby to provide my credit card for the refund, the experience turned sour once again. The "big boned" blonde woman that was behind the counter was obviously angry that we decided to leave. She took my card and didn't say a word. Very rude about the whole process, almost like i was taking food off of her table. Never once offered an apology, never once asked us to come back on a better weekend. Almost like it was our fault the 10 man crew was out there building another shack. Barry was awesome about trying to resolve the problem, but this woman just ruined his efforts by acting like a 5yr old child. It is unfortunate it ended that way. Would i suggest that people stay here? Yes, but i would ask questions before you book, as they are growing and there is a lot of activity around the property that can and will ruin your experience if you go the wrong weekend. If you see big boned Betty (i don't really know her name, but this seems appropriate). Tell her that her attitude counteracts the efforts of the rest of the staff.
This place is perfect. It's a unique experience, it's laid back but the staff is totally on the ball. You couldn't ask for a better Mississippi Delta experience. They have a great beer selection and the meals we had at the restaurant were very good as well. Ask ahead if they will have a full menu or just the bar menu - full menu is better.
This place is very awesome yet hard to describe. All of the rooms for rent are "shacks" but have all the amenities that are needed. There's running water, TV, a refrigerator, Wi-Fi, a shower and a bed and/or couch, depending on the size of the shack you get. I went in a group of about 13 people and we rented multiple shacks. The décor of all the shacks are old school, reminiscent of the olden days. I'm afraid words won't do it justice. Just know this, if you're looking for a rustic, out of the way vacation or stay, this is the place to be. There's a general store to buy knickknacks and doodads and there's a bar with a music hall where they serve food during meal times, alcohol (especially at night) and live music. Just understand this is not a Ritz or a Holiday Inn. That is not the feel this place was going for and they nailed it on the head. I definitely recommend this place.

This was a very nice and quaint spot. I had the chicken casserole and it was definitely something like you would get in your mom's kitchen. There were A LOT of us there for a work event and they handled it pretty well service wise. Some people did have to wait a while but it really was a lot of us there. The desserts were really good as well.
Tasty southern home cooked food! Great service, good menu options. If you don't try a piece of their pie you have missed out for sure!
There's not many places that I eat exclusively in in any given town but the Dutch oven is one of those places I have to go by every time I'm in clarksdale. I try to plan work in clarksdale on Tuesday and Friday to get the poppy seed chicken but all their plate lunches are great.

Lots and lots of choices for the buffet. They even have frog legs. Very good selection of food and will fill you up. Just bring a healthy appetite. The restaurant wasn't too busy after 630pm and the staff was very attentive to refilling our drinks and removing our dirty plates in between our visits to the buffet line.
Worth a visit of you are craving Mongolian bbque and Chinese buffet in Clarksdale. I liked the hibachi, got shrimp and chicken with lots of hot pepper flakes.

Good food. I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich. The sauce was a little vinegary for my taste as was the coleslaw, but that is just how they do it and my husband who loves it that way devoured his. We bought a bottle of their BBQ sauce because of the way my husband liked it. I will say the food was not drowned in the sauce and you could actually taste the pork.
Does it get any better?! I don't think so.... very down home, very friendly and very very good. We ate here last Saturday afternoon on our way thru MS on our blues tour. I know my "city" friends were a little freaked out when I layed down the "no chains" rule for this trip. However, after a stop here....they were thanking me. For me..BBQ pork plate. Outstanding. The vinegar slaw was perfect and for some reason, the bread never tasted so good.
Yes they serve on styrofoam plates. Yeah, sometimes the floor may be a little sticky. Don't worry about it. Eat at Abe's. My dad went there as a kid. All the relatives who're still in MS swear by it. Must try: BBQ Pork Sandwiches, Cole Slaw, HotTamales (pronounced as one word) Excellent sauce. Vinegar-based coleslaw is savory & delicious. Very reasonable prices -- a BBQ sandwich will set you back less than $4. The "Big Abe" (BBQ sandwich with extra layer of meat and a middle bun, like a Big Mac) is less than $6. And for those who don't normally eat pork, I recommend: BBQ Pork Sandwich. Hey, when in Clarksdale...

Ground Zero Blues Club

252 Delta Ave
Clarksdale, 38614
Reviews:
True Blues fans know you have to travel to to "Crossroads" at least once to get the sense of what the blues are all about. When in Clarksdale MS, Ground Zero is a must. As so many "Juke Joints" have fallen to the wayside GS has given new life to what was the Blues experience. Great Blues entertainers, good food ,cold beer. During the festivals " Juke Joint and Sunflower" this is fun spot to see top blues acts and blues legends. Located a stones throw from the Delta Blues Museum stop in for lunch and stay for evening show.
I think we have a new family! It seems that way....the staff at GZBC practically adopted us. It broke my heart to have to leave and get on down the road, however we find solace in the fact that we now know where to go for our next weekend getaway. We had one of the most wonderful experiences there. Pulled pork Sammich, fried green tomatoes and a local IPA that HOPPED MY SOCKS off! I could go into ALL the intricacies of this place and tell you about the writing on the wall, the family atmosphere, the upstairs, and every detail we experienced, but you still wouldn't understand.....if you even remotely like the blues (or history of ANY kind for that matter) you need to do yourself a favor and make the trip. I promise, you will NOT be disappointed!
We went to Ground Zero while visiting some friends who in a nearby (for MS) town. It was a great meal in an authentic-feeling place. I think it's a must to get the whole experience of visiting the Delta. Very cool.

Ordered the chicken fajitas plate. Service was very fast and food was tasty. For the price, the food quantity and quality was very good. The servers were very attentive in keeping all water cups full and salsa/chips topped off. Of the restaurants visited this trip, they earned my highest rating.
Delicious, delicious. Fantastic service from some fantastic people. What a great Clarksdale staple!
Enjoyed 3 great meals while my church group was in Clarksdale this week. The staff was incredibly eager to accommodate our large group and we were super pleased with the food. With an average of 75-80 people in our group we can really change a restaurant's evening and these folks didn't miss a beat. I have never seen a harder working bunch of people and the food was always good. Not a lot of options in this small and rather depressed community but this was a great one for us!!

The Rust at The Shack Up Inn was incredibly accommodating! Live music, great food, and lots of fun! What a neat venue with impeccable service.
The catfish tacos,black-eye pea Hummus andGrilled Peaches and local ice cream were all very good. The outside looks like it's from the Little Abner movie with Stubbie Kay! And we still want to back to look around
Laura went far above and beyond to take care of our group. She ensured we had delicious food, accommodated our crazy requests and was always a joy to work with. Rust helped make our trip to Clarksdale a huge success.
