Healthy Meal suggestions for Cracker Barrel

One of the few places open later in Batesville on an Ole Miss game day. Eight of us stopped in following a game for some dinner and similar to a previous diner's experience, we too were searching for the Candid Cameras! To accommodate us, the hostess put two tables together. Apparently, these two tables belonged to separate wait staff in separate stations, as four of us were handled by one waiter while the other four were taken care of by another similarly inept "Rising Star". From the beginning, we should have known we were in trouble by the warm lemonade and lack of attentiveness. Request for ice and additional drinks took an inordinate amount of time. We were sure there was no way that either wait person was going to get the orders correct. Too bad Vegas wasn't taking odds on that. When the waiter put down our bill before we were even served food, I informed my wife that her desire to save room for dessert was obviously not going to be an option. As to delivering the invoice prior to any food being served, the waiter said he didn't want to forget! Everyone's entire dinner showed up in segments with one person being served another's side orders and several sides missing. One person in our group received his food after everyone else was finished eating. While the experience was dreadful, it did give us plenty to chuckle about. Did I mention that the place was so cold, you could've hung meat in there. A place I would normally have no reservations of going to just became a spot for future apprehension.

I love Cracker Barrel, and I hate that we don't have Cracker Barrel in California. We stopped at this Batesville, MS location while driving from Chicago to New Orleans. There wasn't much else around. This location didn't let us down. Everything was tasty and unhealthy, as it should be. That's why we love Cracker Barrel.

Food was not warm, bacon was under cooked or burnt. Wife had a muffin which was cold and after warmed would not melt the stonecold butter that was served. My glass of water was good.

Even though I generally really like Cracker Barrel, I have to say that this location has been disappointing. It is the closest location to me so I do end up going there from time to time. The cracker barrels that I am used to bring buscuits with jelly and apple butter to your table right after your drinks, this one does not bring any until after they bring your meal and you have to ask for the jelly and apple butter or they will not bring it. Forget about getting extras on those. The service is very mediocre at best. The food is ok, nothing special. I do not know if its the location or if times have changed, but the food does not taste as good as it has in the past. This is kind of disappointing as I had always loved Cracker Barrel.

Terrible service. Waitress needs to find another job, this is not for her. Cashier should have said something after I wrote a big fat 0 in the tip block on my CC reciept. I also wrote " Bad service" on reciept and still no comment. Poor management here. Take your business somewhere else.

I can't really comment on the food, as I've been sitting here for 20 minutes without so much as a "Hello". I love Cracker Barrel, but this is nuts. Servers keep walking by and avoiding eye contact. Have I died? Has my soul wandered into a Cracker Barrel?

Visited around 9:15PM and they close at 10. We walked up to the hostess table where we stood for a few moments before someone came up. We were seated. The menus were a disaster. They handed us the wrong menu and then forgot to hand is a breakfast menu. Wait time would have been reasonable had there been other people there, but we were the only ones. Also, wanted to order a side of biscuits and gravy and was told I couldn't do that because I was ordering a BLT. Whatever. The waitress said because she was nice she would let me. It wasn't bad, wasn't good either.

Our family generally likes a Cracker Barrel, and we were on a road trip and wanted to grab something familiar and dove-in. I'd nominate this location as the worst Cracker Barrel experience. It took three attempts to get our orders correct. Not that we were asking for anything to be cooked special, just getting the items straight was a chore. A brief conversation ensued with the manager who let us know we were wrong (about the size of sweet potatoes of all things). We finally made it to desert, where I ordered 3 yogurt parfaits with 4 spoons (two of us four were sharing). The order came out with 4 parfaits and no spoons. I went to the kitchen to get our own spoons and never mentioned them not getting the number of parfaits right. By this point, we were looking for the candid camera. :-) Never again.

I ate here twice, it was so good. Got the pancakes both times. Excellent. Crispy on the edges and comes with your own little bottle of pre-warmed syrup. Good stuff. They will bring extra syrup also if you ask for it.

Great food, atmosphere and a fantastic sweet waitress who made our visit great during our visit from Illinois on march 9th. She even took a picture with my friend and my nephew

I am reviewing Cracker Barrel's Batesville store because it was the first one that I ever went to and I went quite a few times while visiting my grandparents. I love Cracker Barrel. Unfortunately, there are none in California so whenever I travel anywhere that has one, I insist on going. I have introduced friends to Cracker Barrel in Arizona, Texas, and Tennessee. Some of them still comment that whenever they see one, they think of me. I always order the same thing. I order sweet tea and a veggie plate with carrots, mashed potatoes, and two orders of friend okra. It is a good thing that there are no Cracker Barrels where I live. My heart would have stopped years ago. I have never had bad service at a Cracker Barrel. I think they give potential employees a personality test and only hire those who score "super duper sweet". That or they have just had too much exposure to all the sugar that goes into the ice tea and food.

First time at a Cracker Barrel. It was supercute, friendly service, despite a jerk in our party (whom the waitress handled quite well). The coffee and tea were oddly disgusting, like they were mixed with dish water. Guess they use instant. The best I can say for the food is that it was what I ordered ie) the eggs were eggs, grits grits, catfish catfish, and so on. Nothing special or noteworthy. Not much flavor. Slow service, despite the fact that the dining room was 1/5 full.
