GREAT GREAT GREAT... Great food Great location Great service I met two others for a networking brunch and the service was perfect. I enjoyed my oatmeal and fresh squeezed orange juice. One of my brunch buddies was thrilled with the crabcake egg benedict. While I dont recall what the other individual ordered, he was no less pleased! Our coffee and water remained full and our server was discreetly attentive as we discussed business. Excellent place for healthier brunch options.

The food was good. The service was just okay. I wonder why the hostess questioned my table needs? Customer: "Hi, I need a table for 4 and another table for 2." Hostess: "Uhhh, You just want a table for 6?" Customer: "No actually, I'd like a table for 4, and then a table for 2. There will be 4 teens at one table and then another table for just 2 of us." Hostess: (completely dumbfounded look, says nothing, and walks to two tables right next to each other) After that it seemed like doing it this way was so foreign and strange to them that it affected the rest of the meal. Lackluster service, and kind of unresponsive. The good thing was, the food was tasty!

Awful, bland, same ol' same ol' that you find at any First Watch in the city. Difference is this one is in an area of town that serves actual good food. And they also are demanding an iconic music venue close because there's *gasp* alcohol served there. Even though they've had a spotless record for a decade. Hey bland chain First Watch: You're in Westport!!! We like booze here!! Hell, we were BUILT on booze. If you don't like it, why are you here? I can't imagine anyone in the Midtown area dining on such beige fare, given all of the amazing options nearby, but I hope no one does anymore after recordBar moves.

Service is super fast & friendly. Hash is delicious & filling. Pancakes are huge! Hubs ordered The Trifecta which came with only two slices of bacon. A side of bacon however came with four pieces. Go figure. However for a breakfast place the coffee is just, "Meh."

The food is fresh and the menu has a good variety of choices. The service is consistently fast and polite. This is my go-to place for comfort food for breakfast or lunch.

First Watch in Westport is a really good place for breakfast. Today the wife and I stopped in after an early morning doctor's appointment. Their menu has many healthy choices which I appreciated. I had the vegged-out omelette which was made with egg whites, loaded veggies and pepper jack cheese. The wife had one chocolate chip pancake with a side of bacon. Pancakes are huge at First Watch so go easy.

Everything you try, even a simple English muffin is going to be perfect. Every breakfast item you could want is on the menu and it's all made amazingly well. The fresh first watch coffee is the added bonus to a perfect breakfast.

I think this place is suitable for anyone and everyone. It isn't going to blow you away with some of the creativity you will find with some of the more "urban, hipster/trendy" type restaurants within Westport but it's good food. They have a wide variety of food and all the food was satisfying. I've eaten here twice and I would come again. I think it is well worth the price and the wait wasn't very long.

People who work there are nice and service is really good. The majority of their food is good too with the exception of anything with broccoli. I had tried this one omelet twice that had broccoli and both times the broccoli was really bad. It was wayyyyy over cooked to the point it was difficult to chew and tasted like maybe it was marinated in something (?) I don't know. Either way I sent it back, which is something I NEVER do.

Came here Sunday morning before the rush showed up. Super friendly service. The omelette was fantastic and the waffle delicious. If my options are here or IHOP on 39th, I'm coming here every time!

@First_Watch Never Again! We normally go to the First Watch in Fairway, so thinking that all locations held a high standard of service and food, we stopped here on Black Friday morning. It was fairly busy but our waitress decided her time was best spent c

Good joint. Had some quality flapjacks. I was a little weirded out that the entire restaurant wore Royals jerseys. I think it was a coordinated move. However, the service was great and the food was quality.

Love this place.!! Food is never a disappointment, Servers are always friendly, & the service is always prompt. It also is clean & has a nice warm quite feel for early weekend breakfast. Prices are well within reason & the portions are just about right.. The only draw-back would be no Patio. It would bee nice to enjoy a spring or fall weekend morning on! But other than that...No complaints with what they offer!!

Perfect Brunch in Westport! I've heard legends of their service and awe inspiring pancakes and they did not disappoint! We had no wait time to sit, the server was out immediately. I had pancakes in mind but was not in the mood for the typical IHOP sugar rush and instant diabetes that would inevitably ensue but First watch had great options like Whole Wheat, Cinnabon, and Bacon and Cheddar. Of course I immediately stopped looking after I saw Bacon and Cheddar and HAD to try it! The food was superbly cooked. The eggs were perfectly over easy: whites cooked thoroughly and yolks runny (you would be astonished how many people can't do this!) the sausage tasted premium and flavorful and the pancake was savory and delightful. Overall the cost for two to have a filling brunch was under $20 and definitely left satisfied. Will be back for a hangover meal at some point.

Not bad, but I think I ordered the wrong plate. I got the Chikkichanga after letting the description woo me. The description for the sauce should have been better so I would have avoided this dish. It was a orange creamy tomato looking sauce that really didn't blend well with the rest of the burrito. I say burrito because I'm pretty sure this wasn't fried like a chimichanga is supposed to. Everything inside the tortilla was good...especially the green chillies. The home fries were pretty good, and so was the fruit but I wish the portion was bigger. I'd suggest one of the ommelettes instead... they looked really good.

I had the best breakfast this morning! Trish and I decided to eat a little of her hangover off so we headed to First Watch since it's so close to my casa. They had a light menu that had some fantastic selections on it for once. Sometimes the 'light' menu tends to suck when you actually look closely at it. I'd rather eat 600 calories of awesome omegas and healthy fats than 600 calories of carbs that will burn off as quick as they plastered themselves on my rear end. Since I'm a bit more health conscious lately and the current lover of the loss of 10 pounds I went with the slightly Paleo friendly Avocado toast with 2 'basted' eggs and a side of bacon...because duh I have a bacon tattoo and I love bacon!!! The basted eggs are basically healthy fried eggs that are covered at the end to finish them off with a tad bit of steam facial. They were lightly dusted with a bit of cilantro which I appreciate as a native Southwesty. The avocado on top of the whole grain toast was amazing!!!! It was basically the creamiest dreamiest guacamole sans the finely diced jalapeño I would've added for flair, mixed with a few squeezes of beautifully bright lemon juice and a sprinkle of sea salt for good ol' sailors luck...remember the red sky warning? I give a big fat A++++++ for this dish First Watch, bravo, take a bow!!!!

Great food. Good service. The atmosphere is lacking but the menu choices are great. Love the healthy options.

The waitresses are not friendly. I'm a vegetarian and it really bothers me when I go to a breakfast place and they tell me that they can't make the gravy without meat. I got the impression that all of their food is pre-made because other than the gravy, they also said that they couldn't make the potatoes without onions. I ordered their harvest hash, which basically consisted of mealy potatoes, sour unmelted cheese, two room temperature eggs and toast. Cold toast. Sorely disappointed.

Delicious healthy food reasonably priced. The menu was diverse in selection but consistent in quality. Service was fast and personable. I got a kale salad with basted eggs and a glass of day glow juice. It was so refreshing to have a brunch that didn't break the bank and left the body feeling great!

Since my last review, I've had a couple of issues with this place. The first was when I ordered the eggs benedict with ham. What would you expect it to be? Well, what I got was eggs on top of an English muffin and cold deli ham. It was so disgusting, I couldn't eat it. Cold deli ham? For eggs benedict? At least they were apologetic, offered something else (I declined), and didn't charge me for something that ruined my appetite for the day. The second was after I started the Paleo diet. Wanting to skip the carbs, I ordered three scrambled eggs and a side of ham. The eggs cost $4.77. The side of ham, $3.29. So the same price as most of their omelets, without the sides. Not a good value for what I got. It's still an ok breakfast joint, but order carefully based on what I've told you.

I am 100% in love with First Watch!! The Yelp App lead me to this incredible brunch spot and I've thoroughly enjoyed every meal I've had there. The first time I visited First Watch, I was dining solo. They told me I could skip the 30 minute wait if I agreed to dine at the Community Table. Why of course! I sat at a large table of about 8 random people and we all made slightly awkward small talk while enjoying our omelets. Strangely enough, it was a delightful time. Service has always been top-notch and extremely friendly. Food is always beyond delicious and the coffee is strong and your cup never goes empty. I have absolutely no complaints about First Watch and now I'm really craving a pancake.

Every restaurant in every location is different. I recently visited the Kansas City location in Westport. I was satisfied but not wowed. Ive been to other location of this chain and loved it.

I love finding breakfast places when I'm traveling and I heard First Watch is one of the best. I got the works - biscuits and gravy, ham slice, pancake, eggs, hashbrowns. My friend got a turkey wrap. All and all it was a good breakfast. The place was also bright and cheery. I'd go here again!

It was ok. I don't think that it was my cup of tea. I think Denny's would have been just as good for us (if not better). The place was kinda cramped and we had a big party. The service was not the best, but as good as can be expected i guess. I had the Beefeater sandwich. It was ok pretty standard and it came with a salad that I didn't ask for with dressing that was not of my own choosing... I don't see another First Watch in my future unless I get a wild hair and decide to try that couscous dish that they serve.

Fairly cheap, moderately fast service, exceptional food. When I go I usually get the granola pancakes - best pancakes I've ever had.

I have been a first watch regular for three years now. The coffee is the best in town. The service is extremely personal (especially Amy)! The menu offers standard but delicious breakfast items, nothing too fancy and overwhelming like a lot of other places around KC. It's a great place to come enjoy a traditional breakfast or lunch. There are a lot of healthy options as well.

I was truly unimpressed with first watch. I ordered an omelette with Italian sausage an house roasted mushrooms (I thought it odd that they made this distinction; had they been sending them out to be roasted before?) and couldn't taste the sausage. I could see it so I know it was there. The whole thing was just very bland and meh. For what I paid I expected better.

A nice place to grab Sunday breakfast. I have lived in the area for several years but today was the first time I made it in here and I'd be happy to come back again. There was a slight wait to get seated (about 15 minute) but I was expecting that so it wasn't a big deal. There was even fresh coffee with cream and sugar available while we waited! I had an avocado omelette with potatoes and an English muffin...very tasty! There are a few other items I'd like to try in the next few visits. The service was friendly and attentive as well, so all in all I was quite satisfied with the place. Why only 4 stars then? Although I usually rate places primarily on food, service, and price, I find the decor and ambiance to be pretty sterile. However, if subsequent visits are stellar then perhaps I'd be willing to forgive that small detail and up my review :)

First Watch is always consistent, and I appreciate that so much. Portions are generous, coffee a plentiful, and prices are good. They do bacon perfectly. Not too soggy, but not super crispy. Only complaint today was the butternut squash quinoa bowl: great idea, but the squash needs to be bigger and there needs to be more of it. The squash HAS to be the star of the dish. It wasn't. Just be careful of Sunday mornings. The line is super long after church gets out.

We came to First watch after walking to a couple other places and not seeing a lot of variety on the menu. This place is located in a small strip mall reminiscent of the south (where everything was in a strip mall) and had a pretty wild west sort of exterior feel. Upon entering we were greeted by about 25 other folks who had arrived before us. It took about 20 minutes to get seated, but on the plus side, they had free coffee while we waited and a bunch of newspapers for reading - extra star for this! The type of place we were looking for was a more local sort of spot and what we ended up with was a Perkins that had a little more pizzaz - fewer geriatrics and more young groups, but Perkins-esk none-the less. A step up from Ihop and a step down from a place with more local flavor. Once seated we were greeted by our server who was very friendly and who made some good recommendations for breakfast. The coffee was decent and the orange juice good. I had the chickichanga - A delightful breakfast burrito with a salsa-creamy sauce on top along with fruit (4 pieces) and some potatoes that were quite good. The wifey had the bacodo omelette (bacon/cheese/avocado) and while it was okay, it's wasn't anything to write home about. Positives were service and chickichanga, the negatives were the overall quality of the food and the lack of character of the establishment overall. A good place to go with a group of people for sure, but when looking for somthing a little out of the ordinary, you can find other spots close by.

This was my first time ever to have a carrot cake pancake, and it was absolutely delicious! The pancake was very large, so one cake with a side of meat and eggs is more than enough for a good breakfast. The wait staffers at First Watch were incredibly attentive, and they kept our coffee and water cups full the whole meal. I would highly recommend First Watch for breakfast!

Had to be at an appointment this morning near Westport and Hubby suggested we stop for a late breakfast at First Watch. We occasionally get out to another First Watch location in Independence but haven't been to this one on Westport Road for years. Glad we made the time. I really like the cozy feel of this place. It almost has a Country Inn-like atmosphere with the creamy pale yellow painted walls, wooden beams on the ceiling and the series of contemporary style paintings of food and flowers on the walls. The sun streaming through every window was making everything cheerful and our server was friendly and efficient. I ordered Eggs Benedict Florentine which is two poached eggs on a sliced whole English muffin with sliced tomato, fresh spinach and a very credible hollandaise. It is served with their good diced fried potatoes and a small custard cup of fresh fruit. There was avocado listed as an ingredient on the menu but sadly mine did not contain any avocado. It was still a very good Benedict even without it. Hubby ordered a Sonora Fritatta with the house potatoes. It made a very pretty plate and looked yummy. He did grumble that his apparently didn't come with the fruit and I felt bad for him but I didn't share my fruit which was really tasty -- especially the single chunk of fresh pineapple. I'm happy that we have rediscovered this place and will try to go back soon.

I stopped here to waste sometime before a meeting. I was expecting a long wait as I have grown accustomed to at many First Watch locations but to my surprise there was no wait at all. Everyone was so nice and my food literally came out in less than five minutes. My waitress was one of the best I've ever had. She even brought me more yogurt for my granola - no other First Watch location I have been to has done this. I was very pleased with my visit and will return to this location. Although, entering and exiting the parking lot can be difficult at times the friendly faces and fast service at this First Watch are well worth it.

Pleasantly surprised. Upon entrance, based on the environment and decor, I figured it was gonna be a standard ma-pa greasy diner menu...however they had excellent healthy choices of grub. I had the "Tri-athlete" omelet and I also had the butternut squash soup, which was divine!

The pumpkin pancake was superb! The Greek Fetish omelette with egg whites is delicious. Service was a little less attentive than usual, but it was a busy Sunday. Overall, good choice.

I do not usually enjoy chain restaurants, but it is hard to find breakfast places that are not. The decor is bright and inviting, the tables are spaced well and the service is always friendly. The food tastes good and fresh, unlike some other breakfast chains which taste like frozen microwave meals. This is my second favorite breakfast restaurant in the area. I have had the reuben sandwich once for lunch and it was tasty also. I enjoy how they give you a pitcher of water and a coffee pot for the table.

Great breakfast spot with several locations all over the city. Coffee is always great with a bowl of different creamers on the table, great add. Turkey Dill is my favorite. Every time, I try order something different and always end up ordering the same thing. Service is always great.

Had a good experience here this morning. A bit of a wait (20 minutes) but the Kansas City Marathon or whatever was finishing up, so a lot of the parties were coming from that. My party (me, mom, brother) were sat in a cozy booth in the back, which we appreciated. I think the hostess was very perceptive and put us there purposefully - we were visibly uncomfortable with the crowds and rowdy children, so I was appreciative that she bypassed a couple tables out in the middle of the bustle and put us away from crowds and noise. Our server was excellent - bubbly and friendly, attentive but not overly aggressive. A 16-top was sat right after us that she also waited on, but did not make us feel like we were any less important. In fact, she came over and said, "I'd suggest you put your order in now before they do, so your food will come out quickly!" which I also appreciated. Food came right out. Got the fresh fruit crepe (as did my mom - same thing we always get) and it was perfect and delicious. Brother got burrito vera cruz and actually seemed a little less than impressed - not sure why though, I'll have to ask and then I can update. Only gripe was that the coffee was kind of sour tasting. My mom complained, and our server was very sweet about it, and brewed us a fresh pot, saying if we still didn't like it she'd take it off the bill. Luckily the fresh pot was better (but their blend, generally, isn't the best, but that's not her fault). Overall a good experience at First Watch. When I'm back in town craving breakfast, I would come back here. If you want a great server, request Suzzy. =]

My father once told me that ordering pizza and mowing a lawn was my suburban entitlement. If he's correct, then First Watch would be the breakfast cog of that Rube Goldberg machine. First Watch's food is always fresh (most orders include a cup of ripe fruit) and non-greasy (think the Westport antithesis of Mama's). They serve both breakfast and lunch. I've never been impressed with their lunch menu, but luckily the breakfast menu is served until their mid-afternoon close. I will usually order the very-clean-tasting vegetarian Sensational Skillet (fresh diced vegetables, scrambled eggs, and lightly fried potatoes) or Florentine Eggs Benedict (poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, spinach, avocado, tomato, and English muffin). The coffee is bland, so if your looking for an excellent breakfast with a really good cup of coffee, I would suggest The Classic Cup Cafe on the Plaza (a more pricey option). Or save your caffeine-consumption for the Filling Station Coffee (it's a small structure located in the same parking lot as First Watch). Be forewarned, the Westport location usually has a 15-45 minute seating wait on weekends, especially on Mother's Day and the even harder to determine UMKC/Rockhurst graduation/family events.
