Imo’s Pizza

55 The Plz

Reviews:
Imo's, as most people in St. Louis know, is a chain the originated in St. Louis and it serves St. Louis-style pizza. St. Louis-style pizza, as most people in St. Louis know, is about the thickness of a cracker and has some really buck-wild cheese they slap on top of it. St. Louis pizza, as most people in St. Louis DON'T know, serve a really funky pizza. Boy, I make that sound good, don't I? First thing's first, St. Louis pizza is good. Good. Done. Glad you're convinced. Second, Imo's, in my opinion, makes some of the best St. Louis pizza I've ever had. The sauce was crazy good and the cheese has a very distinct taste that you can only find in the St. Louis area - but, as a warning, it's somewhat of an acquired taste (it's called "provel" - provolone, swiss, and white cheddar). I got my third of the large pizza, which seems to be enough to feed about 3 adults, with pineapple and I think that really kicked it up a notch. I don't think St. Louis pizza is for everyone, but if you want a good exemplar, check out Imo's.

Krumbly Burgers

70 Front St
Troy, 63379
Reviews:
I didn't eat a meal here b/c I don't eat hamburgers (what they're obviously known for) and they had ice cream, so I had to make the obvious choice and go for ice cream for lunch! I got the strawberry cheesecake in a cup (surprise surprise strawberry cheesecake AGAIN). It was pretty good. The guy serving it was SUPER friendly and the ice cream was decent. It took me a long time to eat the small (this rarely happens) b/c it's a heavier ice cream.
Krumbly Burgers has a wide variety of food. If you're thinking mexican, burgers, ice cream, whatever - they can help you with that. Their employees are generally quite friendly and the atmosphere is bright and cheerful. If you order a Krumbly Burger, make sure to get a spoon as some of the meat on your burger is going to be on your plate before you're done. The trick is to use condiments to hold together the loose meat on your bun, so load your burger up with ketchup or mustard. Stop in or drive through - it's a great place for families too!
Our first visit and it is definitely a go. I had cheese, pickle, lettuce, onion and tomato( I do not like condiments). The cheese helped to hold the crumbly meat on my sandwich. It was good, fries were good. Most fast food fries borderline tasting like cardboard, their's taste like actual potatoes, good potatoes. Self serve soda was right amount of carbonation to syrup ratio, calibrated correctly. Good selection on the menu, Mexican, catfish, salad, nachos. Tex mex not true mex but looks good, will try next time. Had fried mushrooms this time and they were good, breading delicious, and fresh. Staff is nice and very friendly. Mom had the fried dessert pictured on wall, I had cuivre river turtle. Excellent value for price. Clean, plenty of seating, convenient drive thru. Buns were fresh too. Definitely will be going back, food made fresh to order. YUM!!!

Chihuahua’s Mexican Restaurant and Cantina

Went with my elderly mother and we liked it. We both had the carne asada soft tacos and they were good. It promised onions and it had them which I liked plus lots of cilantro. I think they should have given more tomato with it. There were some roasted green onions as a garnish and those tasted great with the meal. We arrived early and it quickly started getting busy and the evening wait staff had not arrived. Our waitress was very very busy. We needed more napkins. Had to wait for the check and had to ask for it. Smelled like cigarettes but we quickly adapted. Looks like everybody likes the margaritas, we had soda, mom secretly wanted to drink, and the drinks did look really good. We will go back and try the fish tacos, but will arrive earlier. The fried ice cream was not warm and was not truly fried. Still good, slightly stale corn flakes. Will try the banana chimichanga next time too. They do need to scrub the floors and paint the walls, maybe update the joint a little but just a good floor cleaning and new paint might do the trick.
Are you kidding me? Mexican food? No way.... more like hamburger with ketchup... The best Mexican food I've had since I got here from San Jose, CA. is Taco Bell! If I want Mexican food I make it myself! Tried 3 restaurants so far and nothing close...
Normally good food with decent service. We did not have this experience tonight. Upon entering we showed the wait staff our coupon, she quickly explained it was not as it read. We gladly accepted this offer that gave us less than the coupon stated. Bugs in our ice, refusal to refill water, and threw away our leftovers we had requested to take home. Final straw was after eating waitress AND manager tell us we can't use the coupons at all, that we had discussed since our arrival. Awful experience and will not return! Another strike for restaurants in Troy.

McDonald’s

199 Highway 47 E

Reviews:
So, this is not the type of restaurant I would normally review, but I found it to be an exceptional dining experience (for Troy--remember, dining out is relative!) and therefore worth the write up. Every once in a while work brings me to Troy for at least part of the day. It's one of those situations where I don't have access to a kitchen or a fridge, so I'm essentially forced to eat out. There are a lot of places to eat on Highway 47 (i.e the main drag in town), but they're all fast food. Where can a girl get a halfway decent non-artery clogging lunch in this town? Enter this McDonald's. It's the cleanest, friendliest, most efficient McDonald's I've ever visited. Instead of the the usual surly teenagers behind the counter, the employees here are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean and modern looking. I always order the same thing--a grilled chicken Caesar salad. The grilled chicken breast is always hot and juicy, fresh off the grill. The salad itself is fresh and not just iceberg, but lots of darker greens like romaine and spinach. Unlike some other fast food salads, the salad at this location is not wet, old or slimy. There's also really fresh carrots and tomatoes, too. All things considered, this is as good a salad as you would get in a nicer sit down restaurant. And at about $5, this is the probably the tastiest, cheapest, healthiest lunch you're going to get in Troy.
S-L-O-W That pretty much sums up my experience. All I ordered was an Egg McMuffin - did they need to wait for a chicken to lay then dang egg to make my sandwich? Mediocre would work well also but that's a lot of dashes to type.

Usually the best prices in town and where I buy gas 95% of the time in Troy. 89 Octane is $.03-$.04 cheaper than 87 octane. This is due to the 10% ethanol in the fuel. Only 4 pumps and can be tough to get and out of especially when there are price changes in town.
