1,000+ stars!!! I had been wanting to try this place for sometime and finally made an unplanned stop a few weeks ago. Not being much of a BBQ person myself, I planned to order Turkey and enjoy the sides. As soon as I walked in the gentlemen behind the food line pulled out some fresh brisket. He immediately offered me a taste test and I was sold. He also offered me a sample of the turkey and made some suggestions for sides. The whole assembly line was friendly and fast. While enjoying our meal two employees walked over to check on our enjoyment and if we needed anything. Right before we were ready to leave the manager walked over and asked about our experience and food. He made great conversation and made sure to invite us to come back. If the food hadn't been good, the experience in general would have made up for it. Luckily, the food was just as satisfying. Everyone genuinely seemed to love their job and have an extreme interest in customer service and experience. I would absolutely suggest stopping in and checking this place out!

Absolutely, positively cannot understand the hype. Grossly overpriced, bland dishes that are nothing more than odd ingredients put together. Weird brands of sodas to drink. This place is trying so hard to be hip and trendy. I guess they forgot they actually have to have a good product and value too. UPDATE: After my initial review, the owner of this place starting leaving comments on my review calling me a fake reviewer and accusing me of being paid to write reviews. The comments were very rude. Because I wasn't drinking the Sugarfire "koolaid", my reviews aren't valid? Jeeze.

As a pit master BBQ'r myself, I don't usually eat at BBQ places. This BBQ joint is hands down the best BBQ pit in STL. -Every cut of meat offered, is done right. -All the sides are heavenly. Some rival the meat! -Their creativity and variety of sauces are 2nd to none. -Atmosphere is great! Seat yourself and let the fun begin.

It's weird that I'm just now making my way to Sugarfire for a couple of reasons. For one, it's like a 3 minute drive from my parent's house, and secondly, my parents... who NEVER try anything new have been here multiple times before me. So anyways, they're the ones who brought me. Sugarfire was pretty good. I really liked my brisket sandwich. It was super tender, juicy, and flavorful. I didn't even use any sauce with it. Just savored the brisket for all it's glorious taste. I had the loaded potato salad. It was alright. I just love the sides at other bbq places more, so it makes it hard to make it my number 1 bbq spot. I will for sure be back though, I want to try the pulled pork and more sides. And those pies look amazing!

This was my first time trying burnt ends, and I wasn't disappointed. We enjoyed sampling each of the different BBQ sauces. Everything was delicious, though the portions are fairly small for the price. Edit: Thank you to Matt for responding to my review and teaching me more about burnt ends! I suppose I should have clarified better -- the portion of burnt ends I had was just right and I was excited just to see them on the menu! My husband had the two meat combo with brisket and pulled pork and he, on the other hand, could have gone for a bit larger portions. Thank you again, and please keep those coffee bbq and Don Juan sauces around!

In O'Fallon for work and passed this place on the way to my hotel, and by the name I thought surely this was a decadent dessert shop chocked full of yummy baked treats that I can't eat (no dairy). When I checked into my hotel I immediately started researching dinner options on Yelp and boy was I wrong about SugarFire. Decadent is definitely a word I would use to describe the food options at SugarFire, but it's not a bakery, it's a full blown BBQ enthusiast's dream. I convinced my team that SugarFire should be our destination for our first night's dinner and they obliged after I read the Yelp reviews outloud. We all decided to order the "Meat Daddy" which is an almost all meat inclusive platter that comes with your choice of two sides. The brisket, ribs, smoked turkey and sausage which are part of the combination were all delicious and over the top tender and juicy. I sadly could not eat the sausage (it had cheddar cheese in it) but my coworkers gobbled it up and noted that the jalapeno made it spicy, but 100% delicious. I particulary loved the brisket and smoked turkey, both super tender and with a great smoky flavor. Since I am a sucker for pickles and heat, I loved the complimentary pickles and pickled jalapenos in jars that sit next to the plethora of BBQ sauces offered (White BBQ, SF 47 (house), Sweet, Hot Texas and Coffee). SugarFire is necessary stop if you're in the area, and if you live nearby, please find a way to ship to PA (jk)!!!

If you have a strong taste for BBQ this is the place to go. However, a lot of other people feel the same way. If you don't mind the crowds and the noise this is the place to go. They also have beer!!!!!! I would have given it all stars except I am not the type of person who likes large crowds and lots of noise so it has one start taking off of that review because of this.

If it is not Bogarts...it has to be Sugarfire. Sugarfire is different, and different is good. If it was not for current calorie restrictions I would have a photos of even more amazing sides offered on my trip. Last night the side of the day was Mac and Rack- Mac and Cheese with Rib Meat!!! Hello world! The burger special (Waino Burger) was a burger topped with pulled pork, bacon, cheese, and sauces...total awesomeness. However- trying to be somewhat healthy...I stuck to fruit and veggies for my sides. They were great, full of flavor, and filling. I adore fresh green beans. The pulled pork is second in the entire STL area. I enjoyed the hot sauce and coffee based sauce. This location has indoor seating for about 40, and outdoor seating for 20-30. All of the indoor tables are high boys. Looks like the big push is for carry out. Read the menu before you go...once you spot the man slicing the meat your head may begin to spin! The brisket looked so good I was getting woozy. Check Facebook and Twitter for daily additions to the menu.

Delicious BBQ! The menu has just a few meats but both we tried - brisket and pulled pork were excellent. If you are having trouble deciding they might give you a sample! They have the standard sides all the time plus daily special sides like bacon cheddar tots and kale Caesar. They have many bbq sauce varieties too! There is ample seating - some shared tables with stools and a screened in warm in the winter patio with tables. There is a high hair for kids. Service was very friendly and food is served as you order. I am only in St. Louis for the weekend but may eat there tomorrow too - it was that good!

Great BBQ, the sides are not great - you can tell they are prepared in bulk and just sort of bland. The service is the worst!!! I think their management is so incredibly rude to the customers. I watched the manager act hateful to several customers. I won't go back, which is a shame - they should have more respect for their customers.

Had no clue that there was a location out in O'fallon near my job. Sooo, happy there is. Make no mistake, this will be a regular rotation for lunch. I enjoyed the Turkey w/mixed veggies and fries. That turkey is so juicy. Loved it. Let me also say, this was the first time I tried their White BBQ Sauce, OH MY!! It's good on the meat and the fries. I had to go ahead and take a couple of sauce cups of that home for later. Thanks!!

My favorite local BBQ!!! My favorite side has to be the Mac & Rack with a little BBQ sauce mixed in!! Nothing beats Mac and cheese with rib meat mixed in. All of the BBQ meats are delicious, you can't go wrong there. I love the creativity of their signature dishes and sides that change daily, check their Facebook page to see what they have that day. The baked beans are always a good choice for a side. I love how they have a mixture of beans in the baked beans!

Very disappointing experience. Decided to try the Godfather special and it tasted like a dirty sock. The panzenella salad had no flavor.

Had high expectations.. And damn they delivered. I've heard nothing but good things and am glad my buddy brought me by for lunch after work today. Brandon was really cool, offered up a delicious special, clearly is enjoying himself and cares.. White BBQ sauce with the real horseradish.. Carolina mustard.. Sides galore. Clean.. Awesome. saw me drooling over the brisket he was slicing up and let me try a slice while i waited on my special. The little things.

Love this place they have great food and great service! The place is alil small so come early for a seat or grab it to go. The brisket is by far the best thing on the menu! They always have some kind of specials most of them are always good, but you can't beat a classic like the big muddy. It's a monster of a sandwich with sausage and brisket lettuce pickle toasted buns and with white BBQ sauce this is the best sauce they have! And if you have any room for dessert they have a pie called Crack pie and it's awesome highly recommend it. This place is by far my new favorite restaurant! They have also teamed up with the imos next door with a BBQ pizza which are also amazing! You have so many choices to pick from they'll be something you'll like here and you won't go away hungry.

I was showing property in St Charles and we needed place to grab a quick bite and write up the offer on my laptop . I looked places up on Yelp and this had so many great reviews we could not resist and I'm so glad we stopped in here. Each of us ordered something different and my beerskit was fabulous. Its brisket with beer cheese on sourdough. They have unique fountain sodas with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. The manager and the rest of the staff were very friendly and it's a comfortable place to enjoy your meal. Indoor and outdoor dining. Prices were very reasonable for what you get and I would go back in a heartbeat.

5 Stars!!! just what this place gets from me! The food was fantastic! Pulled pork fries and potato salad for my son and ribs and bake bean for me completed out meals for the nite. The meat was moist and the sides were the common items available...however they had several extra sides on what looks like a constantly changing list called "Siderday" my guess it's named that due to it being Saturday...duh. Anyway the extra sue items were taste as well. I know this because I ask other customers and the items they were eating. The seating in called "community", large tables only in dinning room so you may sit with as many as 8 strangers - which is great if you wanna check out other menu items- well not to taste but who knows the people might offer you a taste!! LOL! I look forward to visiting the place again soon! Hurray for my home town for a new place to dine!! Go check it out for yourself!

Don't get me wrong, everything smells and tastes delicious here. However, the violent 4 hours of vomiting I had from eating here about a month ago still leaves me queasy at the smell of bbq now days. I won't be back after that. Additionally, they're overpriced here IMHO. Go downtown to Pappy's for better service and quality food. UPDATE - After dealing with an over-confrontational manager/ owner, and on a public forum, I can assure you I will never be back. My husband is is agreement, and I can assure you, I will be notifying everyone I come in contact with.

A barbecue atmosphere with stained glass flames adds to the decor of the one room restaurant, along with steer horns and meats galore! Very delicious and very tender brisket was a treat! The ribs were meaty and tasty with a broad array of sauces from hot, sweet, mustard, coffee, white bbq and more! Very tasty and clean with a big patio

Pretty good BBQ for being in STL but definitely way over priced. The brisket san for 6 oz is $9 and 8 oz is $11. The plates run around 15-18 bucks which is way overpriced especially for not being the best in the STL. Anyways it's busy and line was out the door. I tried some fried artichokes for appetizer and I've never had those; they were really good. For my meal I got a beef brisket sandwich and coleslaw. Brisket was tender and juicy. The coleslaw was ok but no major complaints. I really enjoyed the spicy Texas BBQ sauce, that was my favorite. They have a variety of sauces they offer and they have a white BBQ sauce which taste like the blooming onion sauce at Outback Steakhouse lol but it's still really good. I would be a regular at this place but my diet is mostly vegetarian and on my cheat days but with my appetite it would get pretty expensive going here.

The meats here are outstanding. If you want real smoked brisket, you'd be hard pressed to find a better establishment in St. Louis. I've been several times and have sampled nearly everything. I keep coming back to their brisket though as it's the only place I've found in STL that can stand up to Texas style brisket. Tender, fatty, smoky - meat butter. Very happy they have opened a location in O'Fallon.

  • Eddie P.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff that definitely lets everyone know you've ordered their famous "Big Muddy" Sammich. Grab lots of napkins. I like their brisket, not too smoky, a little fatty, & tender; just how I like it. Their pulled pork is equally as good; not to smoky with a great taste and moist. Their potato salad and fries are good too. I ordered their key lime pie and it's not your typical recipe, a little too Limey/tart for my liking but decent. I recommend going and eating there instead of take out, much better fresh. Be sure to try all their home made sauces. GO!

Without a doubt the BBQ is good, it's just not "blow your socks off" great. Very hectic atmosphere, not the place for a quiet dinner. Employees are nice and there is a good selection. Try the smoked turkey, it one of the best things on the menu.

My wife and I came here on Saturday for the first time. We both had the pulled pork platter which comes with two sides. She had the baked beans and string beans, I had the baked beans and coleslaw. Normally I would say that a good meal at Bandana's is fine by me but the meat here was nothing like you'll ever see at Bandana's ( and yes, I've been to Pappy's. When it's good as it gets, it's as good as it gets ). Moist in the middle with some burnt outside. The sides are very good and for my appetite ( I'm 185 lbs ) too large. I got hooked on the white sauce that my wife picked up. Basically, a creamy, smokey horseradish sauce. I know that it's sacrilege to smother your meat in sauce but I couldn't stop. There was a moderate line that moved fast. I was able to pick up a can of Bud while we waited to get through. The kitchen is open and you can see the guys cutting the meat and serving the sides right in front of you. The prices I found to be very fair.

  • Joey M.

I'm pretty sure they put crack in the meat. Yes, that is how good the flavor is and makes you want to keep on eating it even after your're about to vomit from eating so darn much. I've had the brisket and the pulled pork...both phenomenal. Also try the cornbread and the sides. Potato salad is great, dirty rice was amazing, mac n cheese is great, cornbread changes...this week it seems to be cornbread with Siracha and cilantro flavored...it was excellent with a kick! The guys behind the counter cutting the meat are no frills, no bs, get your stuff and move it along, but the ladies at the register are super sweet and dare I say....very attractive. Well most are. :) They do not have the normal drinks though as far as Coke or Pepsi products. They use their own, which I kind of like!

  • John D.

Can't. Go. Wrong. Super interesting and entertaining specials, great regular fair (The Big Muddy!), and a nice selection of interesting shakes and other drinks (alcoholic and non). Crowds are frequent, but their cafeteria-style serving line moves VERY quick, so don't be discouraged if the line is out the door. IT's worth the wait.

So good! We ordered a turkey for our Thanksgiving dinner for our family. I don't think we'll ever cook our own turkey again! In fact, we had a contest. My wife brined her turkey, and her sister picked up the SugarFire turkey. I won't tell my wife, but it looks like she lost. I'm looking forward to our next visit to SugarFire!

Best BBQ in the Lou. After living in CA for a few years, and never getting any Barbecue worth having, this place was a god send. Perfect smoke saturation and delicious, but not overpowering, sauces. The meat and smoke are the kings here. Had a short chat with Rob about our visit which was nice. It's great when businesses show they care about their customers. I would recommend this place any day and WILL be eating here again!

  • Marie K.

The brisket is my favorite and I like that they take requests for lean cuts when ordering. The bbq is out of this world, but the side dishes are lacking. Stay away from the fries, definitely not worth the wait. Jalapeño beans are nice, so are a few of the salads, just wish flavors were more consistent. If going for dessert...the sugar pie (gooey cake) is the go to here. I prefer take out, because nothing goes with bbq like an iced glass of Coke. Kudos for going local on their beverages though!

    (4)
  • J K.

Stay away from the cheesesteak. It is nothing like a philly. Very very little meat in my case (less than 1 strip of brisket overall). It reminds me of eating cheese whiz straight up as a kid but with a very very acidic taste (so not very balanced). I like sugar fire....but at the time of this meal, I also had their ribs, which are awesome!! But the cheesesteak brought my whole culinary experience to new low. I will not be getting the cheesesteak ever again. The recipe needs to be definitely overhauled before I try this again.

I love Sugarfire but this is not the best location. This was my first carry out order at any of the locations. First minor issue was after we placed our order, they called back immediately and asked for the entire order again. Ok, we all remembered it so no big deal. Everything was prepared when we got there and payment was smooth and friendly. Four of us ordered meat combos with sides. Unfortunately my order was incorrect, they sent potato salad instead of the pasta salad I ordered. I could have forgiven them if the potato salad wasn't so bland. It literally tasted like plain potatoes. But still, the brisket and ribs were great and the sweet potato hash side that I ordered was really good. My husband got ribs and brisket as well but when I saw his ribs I actually laughed out loud. They were 4 ribs from one of the ends of a rack and they were the tiniest things I had ever seen. This was the disadvantage of not being at the restaurant. Had they tried to serve that in person, I would have asked for another piece. Especially when the person next to you is getting much more for their money. We'll definitely end up at Sugarfire Winghaven again but hopefully in person so we can correct some of the issues from this visit.

This place is all the hype PLUS more. It's unique it's got great food and super friendly atmosphere. Do not be fooled....just because they don't have plates does not mean they can't serve outrageously good food. It's a bit above average on price, but for the amount you get and mouth watering taste it has I'm surprised they don't charge more. If you like meat you will fall in love with this place. My daughter won't touch half the meat I make unless they are chicken nuggets and every Saturday she begs me to take her to the "meat place" so it's a hit for kids and adults alike!

  • Sean L.

No matter how many times I go, I always find something new! It could be the daily specials change all the time, and the arrangement of sides are spectacular to say the least, or the crack pie must indeed be filled with crack or some equally addictive substance. Great good, great atmosphere, and great employees!

  • Beverly C.

The ribs were meaty, but had NO flavor and were cold. No way were they smoked in a smoker. The website was broken, so indicated an incorrect price. $22 for a rack of flavorless ribs, very overcooked and limp fries and potato salad is high. Also, their soda selections frankly suck. The root beer is disgusting, and there are no name brands of soda. They clearly make their money on selling beer. The price for a slice of pie is insanely high.. No higher end restaurant is that proud of their desserts! .The cups for the sauces are very small and the bar to fill them is messy, crowded and inefficiently organized. I've been here a few times and always gotten the pulled pork sandwich, which was very good, lean and substantial, but today's visit has me thinking I might never go back. When I placed my online order, I was called and told the website was incorrect, that the $18 didn't include sides. There was no offer of a free soda, or a side, or to honor the website's price, which they acknowledged did say the $18 included two sides and a soda. Poor customer service, imho. The staff is friendly, but not enough to make up for a totally flavorless meal at a much too high a price.

Stopped in based on a recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately, I was not "wowed" like everyone else seems to be. I found the BBQ to be good, maybe a little better than the chain BBQ places. On a positive note, the have an awesome selection of in-house made sauces. As other reviewers mentioned, very little seating at this location especially when the outside patio is closed. If you have small children, expect to get your food to-go, as there aren't any high chairs or booster seats (at least not when we visited).

If you love BBQ, you are in for an amazing surprise. This place is on the same par as Bogarts and Pappy's and if you are from St. Louis you know what I am talking about. Everything I have tried here so far has been absolutely amazing. If you are a Rib craver order the entire rack. For $24 dollars you will get enough to feed a family of 4 and a taste you will not forget. You will be liking your fingers for hours.

Best BBQ around. Portion sizes are so generous i usually enjoy a dinner with awesome leftovers for lunch the next day. I've never had a bad selection of food from the Winghaven location. My favorite has to be the turkey and the baked beans are deliciously different. Only downfall is they can sell out and lines can be long but it's still the best BBQ around,

So I've been here about two dozen times now. Convenient and fast and all the food is excellent. The staff is very friendly and has found a nice balance of being helpful and attentive without over doing it as they did in the past. Burgers BBQ Sides deserts are all great

Absolutely amazing ribs! Try them with all the sauces, one is better than the next. And the potato salad is just perfect. Plus these are the friendliest guys I have ever met and just a fun bunch. Just try to get there in time because once they're out, they're out. I'm just sad we don't have one like these in San Francisco.

When my wife, who for all practical purposes is a vegetarian, tells me she wants to go to Sugarfire, you know it's good. The meat is spectacular (especially the brisket), but the sides are awesome. Get the Mac n Rack.

I'm torn on how to review. On the one hand, I love that St. Charles County got its 3rd location of a great local BBQ place. On the other hand, the actual BBQ isn't quite what I'd hoped for. The meat was nicely smoked but the flavor really came from the sauces here. The prices were higher than I could really justify for small cuts of meat and sides that really reminded me in every bite that they were served cafeteria style. It drives me crazy that I had to wait in line for something that just didn't live up to expectations. Other people rave so I think it's just a matter of different styles of smoked foods/BBQ preferences.

2nd only to Pappy's. However, they have the best sandwich I have ever had in my life. It is called the Big Mudder. It is stacked with meat, sausage and pickles. The pickles may not sound right, but they make it amazing. All the sides I have tried have been great. They also have 'adult shakes' with alcohol in them. I had the chocolate peanut butter. It was good, but too rich. Almost hard to drink. Come early, sometimes they have quite a long line. Although it moves pretty fast.

Service was speedy and pleasant. I didn't know what to order so the helpful staff suggested the brisket sandwich; wish it had been something a little more memorable. I know these guys can do better. I just want something that wows me. Any suggestions welcome.

This place was very good. My wife and I went here with a couple of friends last Friday. I'll give a general breakdown below. What we ordered - I wanted to try a little of everything, so I ordered a pulled pork plate and a brisket plate, and for sides I chose french fries, potato salad, gumbo, and jumbalaya. Please don't think I'm a big fatty; this was split with my wife. The best parts - Honestly I almost think the sides were the best part about our meal. The jumbalaya was spicy and the gumbo had very good flavor. The fries were kind of soggy but tasted good and weren't too salty. I have a hard time rating potato salad because I don't generally like potato salad (though I did try it), but my wife said it was good. The other great part about the meal was the soda. I appreciate the fact that their fountain drinks are completely unexpected. There is no coke or pepsi to be found here. They have brands I've never even heard of, and they are very good! Their sauce selection was good; they have about half a dozen different sauces for your food, so if you don't like one just try the others. I tried them all. My favorite was the spicy barbecue, which was more tangy than spicy but it went well with the food. The coffee barbecue sauce sounds nasty but was actually very good with the fries. The sweet barbecue was about what you'd expect from sweet barbecue. They have a mustard-based sauce that I tried even though I don't really care for mustard but I give it a thumbs-up as well. They also have a white sauce that was probably mayo-based that I didn't care for. Lastly they had a sort of chunky sauce that was named after a number that I cannot recall. It was kind of ketchup-y and I didn't care for it. The ok parts - The meat was good and the portion sizes were not overmuch. There isn't much more to say about that. The worst parts - I had actually intended to get the salmon instead of the brisket but when it was my turn in line the guy cutting the meat went back and pulled a fresh brisket right out of the smoker. I could not help myself. I had to get the brisket. And yet somehow it was cold. So was the pork and all of the sides except for the gumbo. I do not know why all of the food was cold. Eating outside in the wind certainly contributes to food not being hot, but cold? I don't know. That was pretty much my chief and only complaint. The service - This place is a cafeteria-style restaurant so I was not expecting to be talking about service, but I do need to point out that there was someone going around the tables taking trays and offering drink refills. The girl that came to our table was courteous and visited exactly as often as she should have to refill our drinks and take trash as though this place were a real sit-down restaurant. I felt obliged to tip her. She did a good job.

After eating here a second time, the food is so good, so I have to add a star. I'm still not crazy about the layout, but, wow. Try the Carolina mustard on pulled pork - it's terrific.

I go to this place frequently because it is so close to my home. I would agree with most customers that the brisket is to die for. It's always easier to mess up beef compared to pork, but they really know what they are doing. It's not cheap, but it's worth it and I have been getting my fix here several times per month. On May 28th, 2015 my total was so high I told the girl at the cash register it could not be right. With some effort on my part, I was able to get the charges corrected. The owner contacted me and assured me that he would review the situation and provide additional training to the cashier involved. I have been a steady customer since this place opened, and I am not going to let this one experience keep me from enjoying this incredible barbecue. The Big Muddy is an awesome sandwich by the way....

I would come back. In enjoyed the atmosphere, the freshness and having the food served directly on the tray. I ordered the brisket and smoked turkey combo plate but did not notice I had pulled pork until I sat down. To say the least, it was delicious regardless of what it was. The portion sizes were pretty good as well. Additionally I had the baked beans, cheesy potatoes, and pecan pie. The beans were ok at best, not impressed. The potatoes were awesome, and the pecan pie was good enough for my lady to give a head nod. She's not really even a pie person. It would not make my list of top BBQ, but it would definitely get some plays on the radio if it were a song.

I tried the Meat Daddy, it's a generous sized "sampler" platter enough to feed two or three, 4 ribs, pulled pork, brisket, smoked turkey, and a sausage link, everything was wonderful! If they have Mack N Rack while you are there... GET IT!! YUM!

Decent BBQ, but not as amazing as the flock of people going to this trendy place are making it out to be. We have been to both the St. Charles and to the Winghaven location. Winghaven has slow wait time on food and doesn't have high chairs. What kind of BBQ place doesn't have high chairs???? Nothing screams "family meal" like BBQ.

BBQ is great. The best feature of the dining room is, There are no highchairs. Wife and I had the Brisket. It's has to be the best we ever had. Tender and flavorful. Only complaint would be the sides of potato salad has no flavor, need to fix or remove from the menu. Beans were good. But the brisket made up for the potato salad.

Best BBQ around this area period!! 2nd trip here and fantastic turkey.. also had the grits (daily special) and wasn't too bad. The place was packed at lunch but they moved everyone thru the line pretty quick. This is my favorite BBQ place in the St Louis area and strongly recommend it if you love Texas BBQ like I do..

The brisket was very moist and tender and there are a plethora of sides to choose from. One of the best barbecue places I have eaten at.

I love the meat here, it's top of the line especially if you get there at lunch. We always order the Meat Daddy and split it. We have two very young children so dining in is rarely an option, so we often call our order in. The food is delicious. UPDATE: I previously posted some minor service complaints but the owner contacted me personally to provide feedback, it sounds like they are working on it.

Here's the thing. The meat is good. Very good. I have never had a bad meal here. That being said, a lot of people will make this place out to be mystical. It is not. I smoke meat at home all of the time. Ribs, butts, turkey breasts, briskets, etc., and I would put any of my smoked meats up against Sugarfire's and feel confident that mine would measure up. BUT, if you don't smoke your own meat, it does not get any better than this, and what you can not duplicate at home are the sides, which are all over the top. Bottom line it that if you don't want to spend a day (or more) smoking your own meat or simply do not have the time, this place is great. If you want sides to go with your main course that you will not be able to make at home, Sugarfire is the place for you.

Out of ribs and brisket no fried okra! Very sad! So I had my first $9.00 cheeseburger very lame! Overpriced food!

I love eating here. It's delicious and I always love getting the daily special. The brisket is amazing. The sauces are fun too.

Got the brisket sandwich with a side which was almost $10 I asked for pickles and onions and they said that was my side so I couldn't get the side of potato salad. I think pickles and onions should be free.I just think that's a rip off but the brisket was good. It was the manager with the black that would not let me have a side. Update: Sugarfire contacted me immediately so I am upping their score. Pleased with the response which clearly proves they care about their customers. Won't deter me from returning in the future!

Haven't had BBQ this good since I lived in Texas. Great Brisket and Turkey and the sides were excellent. Try the Mac and Cheese and the Potatoe Salad! Needs a little more inside seating but I get it, the outdoor area makes up for it.

Great food great atmosphere. The silverware had a dirty spoon but nothing terrible. I will be going back soon

Best BBQ I have ever had. I have been lucky to eat BBQ across the country and Sugar fire is the best Brisket and Ribs I have ever had. There are a few other very good BBQ places in STL but Sugarfire is my go to. The seating inside is a pain if you have a kid under 4 because all the chairs are bar height. The outside seating that has been closed in should solve that unless it is very cold out. They do a good job with take out as well. My wife loves the salmon. Keep up the great work and creativity.

There is no wrong choice here! The brisket is no doubt amazing, the Meat Daddy and the Big Muddy will knock you out! There is no comparing their side options. And I have had burgers from all over but I cannot resist their double burger with bacon and cheese. It is, simply said, the best burger I have ever had! In addition to the incredible food, you have their outstanding staff! Hard-working, friendly and over-the-top service keeps Sugarfire at Winghaven a top choice every time!

Super yummy. First of all, the smell of MEAT, delicious meat, hits you the minute you walk in. Heavenly. 2ndly, the decor is fun! From the bottlecaps on the counters to the license plates on the walls, just fun. I also loved the old school soda pop flavors, nice touch...even though it was kind of like a game figuring out what was close to the familiar! C, and most important, the food. It was good. I had the brisket plate...comes with a pop and two sides. I got coleslaw and some sort of broccoli salad thingy (official name)...I also got a big chocolate cookie. Let me start with the brisket. It was super tender and tasty. I would order it again and again - the Carolina BBQ sauce was my favorite out of all the sauces but they definitely had something for everyone (including a coffee flavor!). The broccoli salad thingy was really, really good - so good, that I barely ate the coleslaw, it was just too good for me to waste time on a mere coleslaw...however, I did taste it and it was ok. Being from North Carolina, I prefer a vinegar based slaw, but I think thats a matter of taste. Now that cookie! It was labeled as a smoky chocolate cookie...all I know is that it was a little salty...and I LOVED it! Definitely a good meal. Its so good, I forgot to take a picture and I always take pictures!

EXTREMELY expensive for takeout. 2 pounds and a quart of potato salad was $36!! I could have much more food elsewhere for way less money.

I was really excited about this place and have been there several times but have been underwhelmed every time. Maybe I am expecting too much or that just don't like bbq to be so sweet. The food is not bad at all, it just doesn't match the hype. The service is top notch and it's local so I will continue to support it as should those in the neighborhood.

Great BBQ but small place. Meat was very tender and sauces were outstanding. Fried artichoke hearts and fries are good as well. Prices are a little high for the shakes and pies, but overall a great place.

Sugarfire on Olive was wonderful. Visited the Winghaven location for a pick up order today and they sent me away with the wrong order. I returned on my own dime (gas, time, etc) and no concession was offered other than replacing the meal. Which, btw, was a pork belly trio that was cold and not appetizing in the slightest. Nor were the cheesy potatoes appetizing. NOT recommending this location to anyone. The whole process was a hassle from placing the order to picking it up. #bland #cold #badcustomerservice #overrated

I'll preface -- we had the smoked turkey for thanksgiving. It was great -- probably the best thanksgiving turkey I've ever had. Ive also had take out. The take out was fantastic as well -- the brisket was super and the ribs were pretty close to being out of this world. This time, the food was great as well -- brisket was tender and flavorful, and the ribs were juicy and fall-off the bone. The brick and mortar location, though, is terrible in all respects. The layout is horrendous. Pretty much everything about my experience was stressful in there. From the guy cutting the meat being obnoxious to the overly loud music and awful acoustics, the combination was almost nauseating until I got my food. Not to mention that there were like 5-6 employees who were just milling about behind the cash register and seemed completely mentally vacant when I was trying to pay for my meal. What confuses things even further is they didn't have a ticketing system. They ask me what I got, which when you're trying to eyeball between 4, 6 and 8 ounces of meat, is fairly inaccurate. The sauces are spread amongst all of the tables, so I ended up having three of the same sauce on my table, while the ones I wanted were everywhere else. Finally, the menu layout is terrible. I didn't find half of the sides until I sat down and had a couple moments away from the impatient meat guy to actually interpret the menu. I'll keep ordering carryout, but the experience inside is terrible, unfortunately.

The food was good, like how they served it! I wish the place had lower tables to make it more friendly to bring in babies in carseats. Also when waiting to order, it's a little difficult to see the menu. You have to be at the counter to place your order, in order to sse the menu. I almost was skipped over to order because I had to stand back to see the menu at the order counter. So, my only issues with the place are design flaws. Otherwise food and service was good and would go back. Just have to grab a hand menu or look online before I go to make ordering easier.

Sugarfire in Winghaven is probably the best restaurant in Winghaven. It's become a regular quick dinner option (minus the line), it's seriously right down the street from me. The pulled pork does not disappoint, and they always have new BBQ sauces (hello, blueberry BBQ sauce). Also, they have a mac and cheese that is out of this world. Every time I get the fries they're cold, so I don't recommend those. Otherwise a really great BBQ spot!

Delicious BBQ and sides. Several interesting sides, not just the standard fries and coleslaw (those are available, too). A little awkward if you don't know the menu, so if it's your first trip, look it up ahead of time - the line moves pretty quickly. We had brisket, ribs, potato salad, cornbread casserole, and Mac-n-rack. All delicious. No sauce needed , but there are so many, you just have to try a couple. Maybe a little pricey, but considering the portions, and we had leftovers, eh- not bad. And everything's fresh, so well worth it. We'll be back :-)

Oh my gosh!!! Sugarfire has only been open for six days and I've already had it three times. I cannot seem to get it off my mind. The brisket is great. The turkey is full of flavor. My husband has had two different specials (the Wacha Wacha and a turkey sandwich with bacon that I can't remember the name of). All the sides have been tasty and the key lime pie was delicious (and not green). Even my super picky five year old has eaten his entire meal and asked for more. I am not sure if it's a good or bad thing that we live less than a mile away. I'm sure that Sugarfire will continue to impress me. Check it out!!

I ordered food for take out tonight because I have been dying to try the place but it is not very ideal for kids. There is very little seating inside, and no high chairs (i have a toddler) I got the double burger with pimento cheese and bacon, which was so delicious. I ordered fries but they were cold so I probably wont get them again....my total for the burger and fries was $13 which seemed a little high for the portion sizes. I will go back for sure, it was one of the best burgers I have had in a long time!!

Just ate here on opening day...can you say wow! I got the Smoked Portobello Sandwich. It was to die for. The pulled pork and fries were great too. I can see why they've won awards for both. Definitely some love put into that meat! We will back again and can't wait to work our way through the menu. Get in my belly!

First time at Sugarfire last Saturday. The line was crazy but I could understand why after we got our food. I ordered the King wanting to sample everything. Brisket and pulled pork are good but the smoked turkey, ribs, and sausage are our out of this world. Sauce selection was amazing, I haven't found a favorite yet but my wife loved the mustard based one. The loaded potato salad was also amazing a must try in our opinion. Dinning in is a little challenging die to the crowd and small accommodations. If you are a BBQ fan this is one to try!

Love this restaurant! The food is wonderful. I like that the menu has unique sides not just the traditional bbq sides. Staff is super friendly. I have eaten there 2 times and each time was fab! Try the brisket. :)

Very very good BBQ. They are so busy they had a hard time keeping up with clearing/cleaning tables which is really the only negative. Would be very nice if the menu was easy to read while you are standing in their long lines to order. Long lines are always a good sign in a BBQ restaurant. Pulled pork was amazing. The brisket cheesesteak sandwich sounds so good. Next time I will try. I thought their mac and cheese was below average but I understand that is a personal preference. I would for sure go again.

I was torn on this review so I've sat on my thoughts for several days and come to the conclusion that overall the food is good to very good; but it's probably not the "end all be all" that some are making it out to be. We've visited twice, once on a Saturday right at open (I believe we were third in line) and once on a Sunday towards the end of lunch and this review is an amalgamation of both visits. In both cases I had the same thing - a double burger with ONLY bleu cheese with fries as the side. As far as the burger, there is a bit of a wait on that - at least that was the case both days we were there. Perhaps if it would have been a day where a burger was their "special" that might not have been the case, but I'm fine with waiting a bit for fresh food. In the case of the first visit, the burger was one of, if not the best, burger I've ever eaten and my companion agreed with me when she tried a bit of it. The second visit, it was good, but not great - perhaps the 10 minute drive home caused that, perhaps something else, but it was definitely a step down. The fries, well I personally do not care for them despite what the readers of the Riverfront Times apparently do. The only difference between the two visits were that they weren't as warm on the carryout visit which is to be expected because of the drive, but I didn't like them fresh at the dine in visit. I also did not care for their drink choices as they did not have Coke or Pepsi on fountain, but rather "Ski". I opted for lemonade the first visit (no drink the second time) and it frankly tasted like a weak version of Wyler's to me and I didn't care for it. Now I see people raving about the Ski soda, so perhaps I missed out, but I'm set in my ways and would have preferred Coke or even Pepsi. My companions differed each trip, but they both got brisket with two sides and both were happy with it, although I don't think either of them were huge fans of the fries, the other sides they did get (beans in one case, and slaw in the other) they did both like. If either of them were doing the review they might well go 5 stars and truthfully I was tempted to because the burger was so very good the day we ate there. However, a couple of things brought me down to the four stars I've given. The first being the lack of space, now per their Facebook page they are expanding (at least I thought that's what I saw) and that can only help as it's cramped in there as busy as they are; and I'm not a fan of eating outside with the flies. The second is the pricing. I'm not necessarily saying their pricing is necessarily out of line, I just thought it was a bit higher than perhaps it could be. My burger and fries was I believe $9, their brisket plates were around $13 or so. Although I found those a bargain in relation to the pie $5/$28 for a slice/whole pie... Yes you get what you pay for, and no this is not McDonald's McRibs, so the pricing is a minor complaint, but enough for me to help justify four stars in lieu of five.

This place is overrated! The food was just ok. If they get regular plates I might return someday! It's not cool to eat off the same tray.....I'm glad I was there with my wife.

OMG .... Just had the full rack and sides it was the BEST. Had the beans and coleslaw. Looking forward to trying their burgers and sandwiches next time! We were at the door at 11am when they opened and there was already a line to get in, however they put out the order fast. Great service guys! This is in O'Fallon

I went here the other night on recommendation of a friend and they must have eaten something different than I did. First off I had to wait 25 minutes to place my order. This type of wait would not bother me for good food. I got some of brisket, smoked turkey, and an order of sweet potato hash. I was really disappointed in the brisket it was really greasy and tasted and looked more like pulled roast beef from the crock pot. The sweet potato hash was absolutely terrible. It had no flavor whatsoever and was more potato than sweet potato. I could not eat it and literally threw the whole container away. The one item that was actually good was the smoked turkey. It was juicy and very flavorful (my daughter loved it!). The BBQ sauces were ok but I only got to try a few because they were out of most of them. I hope that my experience was unusual because the place came highly recommend. I really wanted it to be good because good places for take out are hard to find. I will try again and hope that they just had an off night when I was there.
