Have eaten here twice, first when it opened, ordered roast beef sandwiches to go on the way to a game. The sandwiches come smothered in gravy, sounded good, but the bread was so chewy and tough, it was impossible to eat without silverware. Just tried giving it another chance. Had the linguine with garlic butter and mushrooms. Must have forgotten the garlic. My son had the fettuccine. The Alfredo sauce tasted like white gravy. The food was not bad, but was not anything special, almost bland.

Picked up 2 orders of delicious spaghetti & meatballs, above average italian bread, a below average chicken noodle soup, exellent tiramisu and fudge brownie....good, value-oriented italian dinner...large pasta portions...will return

I've been a big fan of Amighetti's Special for years. In my opinion, it's about as good as a sandwich can get. I was delighted to see that a new location near my home was open so my wife and I dropped in to give it a try. The food certainly didn't disappoint! The only negative was they somehow misplaced my order, which they rectified immediately without delay. I'll be back!! Probably lunch again today! Also, don't overlook the other menu items. I've never had anything from Amighettis' that wasn't excellent.

Totally was bummed when I drove up there for lunch today and saw another restaurant has already taken their spot.

I certainly don't mean to disagree with the other posters here, but perhaps I just had a bad experience. We went here on a weekday night, and only one other couple were in the dining room. It took several minutes for someone to walk up to the register to help us. Once we ordered, we were informed that they were out of bread. Apparently, their supply had either not come in, or had been exhausted before the next shipment. We ordered two sandwiches and a salad. The salad was average, one of our sandwiches wasn't very good at all. The other (I believe it was a house-special) sandwich tasted great and made up for a bit of the other disappointment. I'm rating this a 3 because I think this was just a fluke. I'm not sure I'll be back, but I guess I'd be willing to give it another shot!

This is a place that we frequent often. This place is clean number 1, and I love that. I am always greeted with a smile and our food comes out prompt and hot. My daughter gets the spaghetti and meatballs every time. The meatballs are large and the plate is plentiful. I am a sad and cookie person. Odd...I know. But I have to have a choc chip cookie per each visit. Never a disappointment.

At least the bread was good. How would you rate them if they got everything we ordered wrong. Even though they apologized and wanted to make it right, they proceeded to mess up the corrected order! How does that happen? There are better places to get a sandwich.

Great food. Friendly staff. Quick service. Good size portions. Not to big, not to small. Definitely recommend. Won't break the bank either.

Not much selection and the Tomato Mozzarella sub was all tomatoes and a tiny bit of mozzarella. Not tasty at all. French bread pizza had cheese that was not fully melted.

I've been a big Amighetti's fan since I moved here eight years ago - first in Hazelwood (since it was near my work) and now in O'Fallon (since it's near my home). I eat there at least once a week, and I can't remember ever being disappointed by either the food or the service. Best dinner, in my opinion, has to be the lasagna with garlic bread. I'm told that the lasagna is made fresh in-house. It's not available every day - only from time-to-time as a special - but worth calling to see when they have it, and planning your trip accordingly. For lunch, you can't beat their "Amighetti's Special" sandwich and a bowl of soup. Potato - bacon is the best, but all of their homemade soups are great.

From The Hill? I would not associate my brand name with "From The Hill" for this establishment!. Wife & I had the beef ravioli. Very bland. Served so cold it could not have been prepared from scratch on site! Took 2 reheats to get it to serving temperature! Equal to the grocery store chef in a can . The place with a tomato mascot is probably cheaper with more flavor! Cold french bread for Italian? How about toasted garlic bread instead? I guess is it might be pretty difficult to screw up a salad! It was the only decent item! Put a trash can by the exit door, not the patio door, if you expect me dispose of my trash! Definite thumbs down!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
