The Bar B Q Joint

Great joint for barbecue! Their meat is so tender, and flavorful. As soon as I pulled up the smell of smoked meat fills the air. This place lacks a lot of seating so take out is your best bet. And getting here early is a must. The pulled pork, and brisket is by far my favorite, it just melts in your mouth. It is served with bbq sauce but you won't need it. The beans and slaw are a great combo for sides. And the slaw is fresh, and doesn't look all wilted and old like at some places, it could probably be a little more creamy for my taste. The menu is nice and simple. Meat, a choice of 3 sides, and drinks. And the service is fast and friendly.

Good food... Unassuming little place but definitely worth the stop. Spring rolls were awesome as a starter and there was a lot of good variety in the menu.
I agree with another reviewer - do NOT judge a book by its cover! This little building is a wonderland of Thai cuisine on the inside. I have truly LOVED everything I've tried here. Friendly service and quite clean and comfortable if not the classiest looking place in the world. I'll take delicious, well prepared food over atmosphere any day.
One of the best places to eat in Neosho. Consistently good. Love the Pad Thai, Spring Rolls, and Spicy Fried Rice. I prefer to come for lunch because their specials are great and very affordable (include a spring roll which is a must have). Great place for lunch or a lunch meeting but the atmosphere is a little lacking, so not a place I would consider for a date spot.

Eight fried eggs, four sausage patties and a coffee. How much? $13. This is diner food at its best: simple, quick, tasty, no-frills. The coffee is decent. Not burnt or too bitter. I miss the bar that used to run down the middle of this place, but change must come. As far as I know, this place has operated continuously for more than 35 years, probably far longer.

The pizza is the best I've had in a long time. It sure beats the chain pizza out there.

El Charro

Reviews:
I've been to this location before. However, this evening my companion and I went after the "Taste of Home Cooking School" at the CIvic Center. The show let after a little after 9, so my companion and I rushed to El Charro to see when they closed--at 10pm. My companion ordered the lava cake (it was dry and no lava) and I ordered a beer and the #10 (enchilada, chili rellano, rice, and beans). My rice and beans were not warm as they were the first and only things I tried. I told my waiter and he took my plate and minutes later returned with my plate (the exact same plate as I had marked the enchilada and that was completely fine with me), but this time with more beans and rice, but again the rice and beans were not warm they were at best lukewarm. Finally, I told the waiter that we'd pay for the beer and the cake, but I'm not paying for the meal and I showed him I could put my fingers in the rice and beans to prove how cold it was and even told him to do so. I've been to this location numerous times and never had this type of food. So I go to the cashier and I tell him what happened, and the waiter comes over speaking in Spanish. The cashier man gets an attitude (this in front of one of the female servers that has waited on me numerous times before) and even mentioned to her, "You know me, I've been here a million times and I've never had a problem." The cashier man was so angry that I think she was afraid to say anything. The cashier was more interested if my enchilada and relleno were hot, and I said, they were but I wouldn't eat them since the rest of the meal wasn't even warm. He basically called me a liar and said that the waiter and told him that he'd warmed up the plate twice. That wasn't true as he only took my plate once before and it was no warmer than the time before it just had more rice and beans. I will NEVER go to this El Charro again. If I were the manager I would instantly fire the cashier. If the cashier happens to be the manager/owner, I think he needs to know that he lost a big customer in myself, my companion, and I'm sure numerous members of my family and friends! DISGUSTING food and even worse service! Oh and the chips with the salsa at the start of the meal were cold and greasy, but I didn't say anything as I was hungry and looking forward to my order! NEVER AGAIN will I go to this place!
First red flag was no soap in bathroom. Food and service bad. Decor horrible felt dirty.
I'm a fan of El Charro in general around this area, but this is the best individual restaurant, in my opinion. In terms of service, cooking, presentation, and the bar area, it just seems better managed than the ones in Joplin or Carthage (or Lamar but who goes there?). The salsa is great and so is about every menu item I've ever had. Good deals on beer and margaritas, too! Neosho really lacks for restaurants where one can eat a good meal AND have a few drinks. I'm glad El Charro is in town. ***EDIT*** So El Charro ruined everything good I said above. They TOOK OUT the bar and replaced it with like three tables. Last time I went in, I ordered the chile colorado, and it was just a plate of the fajita beef in an entirely too salty chile sauce. Have a drink before, and go to El Pueblito!

Ordered the fried chicken. Came out with No breading, just fried skin. Talked to the manager and she insisted it was fine and refused to take anything off our check. My girlfriend ordered the pork tenderloin and she was brought out a fried pork shape like you used to get in elementary school. Again, totally unacceptable. The manager refused to take anything off the bill for that either. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!
Great breakfast choice! Recommend the omlettes or breakfast skillets. Lunch/dinner food is usually ok to good but not great. Overall, good family restaurant for Neosho.
Green Forest is a very odd blend of American diner and Mexican restaurant.but the food is pretty decent, and the portions are big. I like that it's home-owned instead of a big chain, too. The prices are good for the amount of food you get, and even though they are known mostly for breakfast, their lunch and dinner foods are good, too.
