1st visit to this place. I had Chile relleno and a off menu special order White cheese and onion enchilada. The food was good. I think the pablano pepper was not roasted long enough, and / or wasn't peeled. It was a little tougher than I'm used to eating. Server was friendly but a little slow to visit the table. I would eat again but will ask about how they roast the peppers next time.

I will never go back. We waited 15 minutes and in that time not one person talked to us so we left. Definitely go across the street to Happy House. They have a reasonably price all you can eat buffet. The service there is great. As for the service at Acambaro IT WAS HORRID!! I also have heard bad things about using credit cards here

The food was good. The music was so loud i had to yell to visit. The cashiers were busy, distracted, and strutting their stuff. Waitress was delightful!

Every time we visit our family, they always want to take us here. We have probably been here about 3-4 times. This was by far one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had in a long time (and we eat out all the time). We waited for chips and salsa, we had cold food, and we had no silverware or napkins for more than one hour after our arrival. We had to ask for things constantly. We had to wait a long time for the food to come. Even then, some of our party didn't get theirs at the same time- as much as 15 min. after everybody else's! As if this wasn't enough, they didn't even have rice!! They didn't apologize, nor did they offer a substitute or a refund for that portion, or even a smile. They just served us cold beans! There were 21 of us in our group; all are from the area but 2 of us. Nobody was being rude or belligerent. We just received horrible food and service for no reason. Let me add one more thing here. One star is too high of a rating.

Not bad. A good stop in town. Fresh food and clean so far as I could tell. Also reasonably priced. When in town I will come back.

This awesome AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant is the ONLY thing I am going to miss about living in Monett! The chips & salsa here are the best I've ever had! (Excluding when i'm actually IN Mexico...) menu has great variety, & the food is reasonably priced and the wait staff is very accomodating! Great margaritas, too!

We have lived in the area for almost 10 years and have eaten here on numerous occasions. Their food is great, the restaurant is clean, the wait staff is kind and courteous and the restaurant is clean. The prices are wonderful,. It is a great place to go for a meal with friends or family. It also has a full bar.

This the only decent place to eat in town! It's actually good Mexican and believe me, there is nowhere else to eat!! Aside from the pathetic choices in Monett, this is a stand out anywhere.

As frequent visitors to Monett, the dearth of decent restaurants here is glaringly apparent. As a town of nearly 9,000 you'd think it could support a few respectable establishments... but it doesn't. Acambaro is the one exception and Monett's shining star. I can't pronounce its name but we've eaten there half a dozen times and they always come through. Our group of four dined at Acambaro last night and had a great experience. We were seated promptly and had chips and salsa on the table within minutes. Our server suggested a pitcher of margaritas--a free nacho appetizer came with it--a no-brainer. Food was all good and our server checked on us regularly. Our bill came to just over 50 bucks including drinks and before tip--very reasonable. Acambaro had a pretty good crowd on a Wednesday night so they don't seem to be struggling like some of the others in Monett. Keep it up!

Most Mexican places around S.W. Missouri don't really cater to Americans, but Acambaro seems to be the exception. The staff is mostly friendly. I love the enchiladas--they all are good--chicken, cheese or spinach. The only thing I've had there I didn't like was the chile rellenos--to my taste the chiles were bitter.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
