It's difficult to believe that the negative reviews I read on other sites relate to this restaurant. My 89-year-old mother and I had a lovely meal here yesterday, arriving around 6:15 p.m. The host seated us in a "warm" area (no cold air blowing on the table), showed us the menu before we were seated (mentioning a couple of entrees that were not available), and was very knowledgeable about ingredients. Our server was prompt, friendly, not too "clinging". She had several tables to handle, but juggled everything in a nice manner and checked on us three times before we completed our meals. We stuck with the fish entrees on this, our first visit. My mom had the talapia, which came nicely grilled. I had the breaded catfish, just about the best I've ever had, and that includes Porky's and The Junction. We both had the nicely prepared coleslaw and steamed veggies as sides, but there is a nice selection of sides yet to try. The vegetables were not overcooked. Servings were generous all around. No dessert for us, but they looked good. (As did the huge platters of onion rings ordered by our neighboring tables.) Prices: Around $7.99 for our entrees, a bargain when considering the size of the fish fillets and of the sides. Dinner for two: $17.00 + tip. I can see that maybe this building was a Mexican restaurant at one time, is that right? Also, the bar was beginning to fill up when we left at 7:45; there seems to be a nice wine and drinks selection. Over the past few years, we've had some trouble with the food at the nearby Golden Corral (even though other Golden Corrals, such as the ones in Hannibal and Columbia, are usually fine), so it's nice to discover Americana Grill as a go-to when passing through Moberly. Why not 5 stars? Noisy, unbridled children at a nearby table, vacant-looking atmosphere, deferred maintenance on door paint, lobby areas. Also, Rick's might think of a larger Internet presence, as today I could not find a menu online; the mentions seem to be on google and city search sites.

We thought it was a good moderately priced steak dinner. The salad was very basic but the steak and baked potato were very tasty. The service was very good. I would come back...

I have been to Rick's twice. The first time I went I ordered the chicken alfredo which came with Texas toast. We had fried mushrooms for an appetizer and they were really good. When my food came, oh my goodness it was fantastic! I actually ate the entire plate, which is rare because I usually prefer eating smaller portions. My rating is three stars because I realized that the quality of the food is unpredictable because you never know who is cooking day-to-day. The food was so horrible, I could hardly touch it. I ate as much as I could handle because someone else paid for my meal, but it was really hard to stomach. I tried to be polite and took home the rest, but I never finished it. The next day I felt a little sick and I think it may have been the food I ate here. The atmosphere here is okay. It's a little dusty, but it didn't bother me. I liked the skylight when you first walk in. The staff was nice both times I have went. They have peanuts you can snack on while you wait for food and the menu has a lot of choices. They have booth, table, and bar seating. If you sit in the bar you can watch sports on the TV. I would have given this place four stars if I didn't have a really bad experience the last time I went. Honestly, it was so horrible I probably won't eat here again.

Ok place. Not the greatest service but the food has always been wonderful. I have gotten the wrong steak and eaten it because it was so good.

Tonight's first (and last) visit to Rick's Steakhouse and Grill (formerly Rick's Americana Grill) during our visit to Moberly was in celebration of Mother's Day and my wife's major milestone birthday. My wife and I agreed afterward that dinner at Rick's was one of the (three?) most memorable of our nearly four decades together. My wife and I both had the seven pepper skillet with chicken. The peppers, onion and some unidentifiable vegetables (tomato?) were cooked to near death. The chicken - mostly big chunks - was dry as a bone ... tasted like leftover chicken that had been microwaved and then thrown into the pan in the last minute. The whole concoction was dry - I was hungry and that nearby bottle of Ketchup looked awfully tempting. The side of steamed brocolli was like mush. Our waitress was obviously a trainee with another employee hovering behind her as she spoke with us. I didn't mind asking for a refill of my empty water glass but it would have been nice to be offered a refill. We had barely started eating when we were asked if we were ready for our check. It's Saturday night and the lobby near our table was filled with people waiting for a table including some small children. Our waitress must have assumed that I would prick a finger and sign my credit card receipt with my blood - no writing instrument was provided If you ever think about dining in Moberly, remember that Columbia, Missouri has far more and better choices and is just 30 minutes away.
