Plowboys BBQ

This is a great place! If you like smoke on your bbq this is the place for you. Everything is fresh and homemade. The staff were so friendly and the food was great. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich and macaroni and cheese and by boyfriend got the smoked burger and baked beans. We also has a homemade lemonade, which was excellent. It is mildly sweet and lemony, just the way I like it. I have to say the Mac and cheese was a close first to my favorite! Plow boys is more for take out orders or drive thru, but we came on a Cool day and sat ate one of two picnic benches. It is a definite go to if you are coming through marshall!
Best BBQ nachos ever and the tenderloin is very good. Everyone is very friendly, will def be going back

I have eaten here four times since I moved to Marshall 20 days ago. The food is simply delicious! I have high standards for my Mexican food and the Picosita Grill does everything well. Flor's papusas are the best I have ever had! I highly recommend the Papusa Revueltas, but every type I have tried has been amazing. Nothing is every frozen and you can taste the freshness in the food. The pizza dough is made each morning, salsa blended each day (once we were the first party there for dinner time and it was still frothy from the blender!), and nothing but amazing flavors. Simply stated, everything is good here. I'll have to watch my waistline since I live only three blocks away, but my tastebuds will be happy!
I have family members that I've been visiting in Marshall for a couple of decades. This is... BY FAR... The best, freshest, tastefully prepared food in town. El Salvadorian food with a few American dishes, and New York style pizza. There is something for everyone. Top recommendations: pupusas (specifically the pork and the pork and bean are amazing), and their sweet corn tamale served with creme fresh. They also have some great tasting traditional El Salvadorian fruit beverages. Try the horchata or the marañon!
Great simple dishes. I had the chipotle burrito with pork . They also sell salsa to go. I will be back next time I pass

I have to say I wasn't expecting much when I drove by. I am new to the town and wanted to grab a beer and a bite so I stopped at Buds. It is a bar first and then it has a lovely bartender/chef who makes a killer burger and tots. I know it's only a burger and tots but everything was cooked perfectly! Hot and fresh, and cooked to order. It is a locals place with a lot of character
Bud's is the last bar in the downtown area. It has been there forever. Or at least longer than I can remember, and I'm 65. I've been there twice I guess, once in about 1968 and again in 2006. I promise to get there at least once more before I die. Anyway, the place hasn't changed one iota (excepting the paint, see below), as far as I can see, so I am perfectly comfortable in providing a review. True to the genre, there are no taps and almost no selection of beers. Bud longnecks, mostly. There is a very limited menu of foods that can be popped in the microwave. Smoking is encouraged. I see cars parked outside at 9 AM, and have always wondered if they serve Bud for breakfast, but have never been tempted to investigate. Bud tastes the same everywhere; I like the place because it is the only thing in my life that hasn't morphed into something else. (They did paint the facade a weird brown this year, the only change I can discern. Needs to go back to white, like right now.)

The food is great! There is a wide variety of meats and sides. The people who own the place are great and accommodating for their customers. I would definitely recommend this bbq to anyone traveling through or local.
This place had a line to the door so what I'm about to write must mean....1. I'm a BBQ snob 2. It was a bad day, or 3. This is the best they have to offer in Marshall. I had the ribs, brisket, baked beans, and mac -n- cheese. First thought it smelled really good as I was driving home, and I hoped it was as good as it smells. This is where is goes down hill. The ribs were very dry, and some bites were even tough. Seems like they had been setting way too long or over cooked. The flavor was good, but ribs shouldn't be dry or even crunchy. The brisket was much of the same. It was very dry, and although tender, didn't have much taste. It also seemed as if it had been sitting too long. The sauce was not special at all, and was supposed to be spicy. It wasn't. It was good enough to smear on the ribs, and brisket to give it taste. The baked bean and mac-n-cheese were better the average that was probably the highlight. The service and restaurant was very nice and friendly. I hope it was just a bad batch, and I will go back and try it again just too see. But was not impressed by this visit.
I love going to the brick and getting their ribs. Very good. The folks that own the place are nice and come out to say hi to all the customers. Best bbq around. The only problem is their burnt ends are so good they sell out a lot.

Best crab ragoon anywhere! Huge and sweet, and delicious.
This is the worst . The good reviews must be fake. The fried rice wasn't fried at all, my son ordered shrimp fried rice and it was yellow and it seemed that they just thru in a few shrimp to the rice and sent it out... He couldn't eat it. I sent my egg foo young back because I think it was a pre made patty and tasted terrible. Never going back!!!
I love their lunch special! I get sesame chichen or beef w/ broc. and it's really good. Love their egg rolls and chicken fried rice!

The food is really good and there are A LOT of options. Great for large parties. The prices are also very reasonable.
I travel to Marshall for work on a semi-regular basis. As such I like to find the local places and that is all there is here other than a Pizza Hut and an Appleby's (I won't eat at Appleby's even if it is free). I have eaten here at Bloomfield's several times for breakfast and it is very reliable. Service is good and they cook good breakfast foods. I have had eggs several ways, omelets, steak and eggs, etc. Hash browns are good. Coffee is hot and good. I ate here the other night for dinner and it wasn't so good. I got the rib-eye and it was cooked as I ordered it which was a plus. However, it was a not too good piece of meat. Lots of fat and gristle. Hadn't been seasoned too well. Just a very weak piece of meat - I wasn't expecting Ruth's Chris or anything I knew where I was. My fellow diner from Texas got the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and gravy. As soon as it came out with a dark brown gravy he knew he had ordered the wrong thing. It didn't taste bad but chicken fried steak comes with white cream gravy! Not brown beef gravy. I will go back but will most likely stick to breakfast and burgers. From another review on here I will probably take a chance on the fried chicken.
We visited this restaurant for the first time on Friday, May 23rd. We had dinner and my husband and I were completely satisfied with the meal for a restaurant in a small town. He had sirloin with shrimp and I had the prime rib. My prime rib had more fat than expected but the flavor was wonderful. They served the best horseradish sauce I have had except for my own. The prices were very reasonable. The bonus was the price of their cocktails. As for the smoke, none was detected. Appears they have improved on the complaint expressed in 2012. We went back the next morning for breakfast. Again, no complaints. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Before you shy away, remember you are in a small town. Would we go back? Most certainly! If you are in Marshall, give this restaurant a visit. See you there!

Seems really old and it's very dirty. The workers are very nice and friendly, but the overall business is nasty. Although the building is trashed, the food isn't half bad. I would only come here for the food. Nothing more nothing less.

It's about 10:30 and I grab a late breakfast. The food was fine, but the place is dirty. There are two people working and despite the dirty bathrooms, crumbs all over the floor ( along with other trash ) the main concern of the staff seems to be the events of last night. Although I was trying to focus on catching up on a few emails You couldn't help but overhear about the run in with the cops and how much fun they had. There is a reason I seldom come to this location as this is not the first time I've been here with it dirty and less the impressive service and atmosphere.
