This place is incredible! Aside from the fact that I love bakeries to begin with because my grandparents run one and I get all kinds of nostalgic when I smell break baking... if you put all of that aside, you would still love GH because of the delicious baked goods and the top notch customer service! My husband and I only intended to stop by La Cosecha for some coffee, but since they share a space with GH, we wandered over to check out what they had. There's a great variety of bread and the things we tasted were great! We had a breakfast bread thing (I don't really remember what it was actually called) with potatoes at the bottom and kind of like scrambled eggs on top. We also tried the beer bread, which had melted cheese on top and tasted so good we bought a loaf! The other awesome thing besides the bread, which seemed to be of very high quality, was the owner. He was so friendly and he answered all of our questions happily. You could tell he loved his business and loved working with people. He even cut us slices to sample from a loaf of bread that wasn't on the sample table, just because we wondered what it tasted like. Two thumbs up for exceptional customer service!

The Great Harvest Bread Company shares it's space with La Cosecha Coffee Roasters. These two companies compliment each other perfectly. Fresh, delicious baked goods with great coffee, perfect for any day. The guy behind the counter, which I'm assuming was the owner, was very friendly and offered us samples of the pumpkin bread and the cinnamon roll. I tried the pumpkin bread, and it was very moist and packed with pumpkin flavor. My wife and I ended up getting some sort of savory bread item with egg and bacon on top. It was pretty good, probably would try something else next time though. After finishing this bread item, we took a look around at the various goods the bakery had to offer. One of the employees saw me peeking as they were making their loaves. She invited my wife and I back for a closer look. The employees were very friendly and really seemed to enjoy what they were doing, even though they had be at work at 4 or 5 in the morning. There were tons of delicious smells back there, and we saw some cinnamon rolls bigger than our heads! The owner talked to us a little bit about the company and mentioned how Schlafly had allowed them to use their pale ale to make some of their bread. The owner asked if I wanted to have some, and I looked at my wife because I thought he was asking me to buy the whole loaf and I didn't know if she was okay with that. But he said he was just planning to open a loaf up just for us to try and also allow others to try. I was definitely down for that. He cut us a slice, and... wow... just wow, that bread was delicious! He said they didn't use any water when making it, just beer, that's my kind of bread! I instantly said we would take a loaf. It was a little more than I was used to paying for bread, $8, but well worth it. (We finished the loaf in two days =X) After that, we looked around a little more. I heard the owner talking to another customer, and it was just so cool how passionate he was about baking bread. He was describing different breads, their different flavors, and the different ways you could use them. Passionate, caring employees and great products, that's why I'm giving this place five stars.

You walk in the door and you can smell the coffee and the bread. I was offered samples and tried a banana / strawberry bread that was TO DIE FOR!! I really wanted a sandwich.. and thought I'd find something but right when I was getting a bit bummed out.. out of the oven come these sandwich rolls. I ordered the Ham and Swiss.. it was awesome. Maybe I didn't look well enough, but there were no iced coffee drinks.. soda and water are also available. I bought bread to take home, can't wait to try that!

Dang I love this place. Their bread and baked goods are delicious and fresh!! The first thing that happened when I walked up was that I was offered a sample of their products, from bread to muffins or cinnamon rolls. It was warm and delicious! I was here to buy some rolls for a dinner, and so I did and they were raved over. I love the honey wheat bread. They have speciality breads on different days. It's a higher end product (aka pricey) but worth it! I love that they share space with La Cosecha - great coffee. I'll be back for sure!

Bread is so delicious!! They sample a variety of breads and the sample size is crazy big. Every bread that I have taken home has been great! I stop in and grab something every time I am in the area!

Oh my goodness. Their baked goods are spot on! I love that they make all their treats with hearty whole grains. It makes me feel a little bit healthier when I enjoy their products. I finally made it into their shop after stopping by their table at the WashU farmers market frequently. Just like the staff that brings their products to the farmer's market, the staff in the shop was friendly and helpful. I got a wonderful biscotti, and a great and generous sample of pumpkin bread. I think I may be on carb overload, but I'm also quite happy right now. The only down side is that their bread is a bit pricey, so I have to make it a special treat, but it is always worth it.

This place is amazing! Best bread, best muffins, best snack food, best everything really. My favorites are the honey whole wheat bread, the missouri mud bars, and the cinnamon rolls. I love the staff as well. One of my favorite places to visit.

So good! The breads are super and if you aren't sure, the staff is more than willing to give samples for you to try. A must is their asiago pesto bread. I took it to work one day and people asked where it came from! I love the staff! They are so helpful and friendly!

My visit to Great Harvest could not have been better. We were greeted warmly and offered samples. The employees could not have been more helpful or more knowledgable. The samples spoke for themselves. A purchase was mandatory. I purchased a egg and spinach muffin, cinnamon roll, and strawberry banana muffin. The loaves of bread looked amazing. A whole loaf and a lunch muffin are on my wish list for my next trip to Great Harvest. What a great local bakery.

This place has some of the best bread products in town. I normally try and avoid bread and all the carbs involved but I enjoyed a few samples during the Yelp Christmas coffee hosted at LA Cosecha coffee. The staff is friendly and generous with their samples. I really like the cinnamon bread sample I tried. This is a great place to pick up a loaf of bread for a dinner party. There are a couple tables available for sitting and enjoying the bread inside.

Love this place! Prices are very good and the food is delicious. The only thing that I dislike is when they heat up my food in the microwave. Seems odd to me for some reason. But other than that they are super friendly and always give out samples before you place your order.
