Monsoon Vietnamese Bistro

Fantastic service paired with wonderful food. I will continue to come back for the pho and cant wait to try others on the menu.
A decent place that doesn't seem to get much action. Food is good, if not a little pricey. Service can be good or just ok. Their pho is a little thin on the broth but tasty though I do wish that they provided better cuts of meat. Overall a good place, but just not much to pull me back in for a third time.
It's MONSOON SEASON!! I got the chance to check out this restaurant with a couple of friends a few weeks ago. Now, I'm not sure how big the Vietnamese population is in St. Louis, but it has some great venues for Vietnamese cuisine, and I was interested to see where Monsoon would fall compared with the Mai Lee's and the Pho Grand's of the Lou'. The atmosphere was nice, and I could tell they had done some remodeling. However, it might have affected the prices because Monsoon Bistro's menu items were a bit more expensive than I had expected. Now, onto the important stuff: the food! My friends and I started off with the fried kalimari, which was delish. After that, I whittled my choices down to their Pho or Pad Thai. I decided to go with the Pad Thai because I've been looking for a place in St. Louis that make it well, and boy am I glad I did! Aside from the price, I very much enjoyed my meal. It had just the right amount of peanut-y taste that I look for in the sauce. The only strange thing was that rather than use Pad Thai noodles, they used a thinner almost angel-hair type noodle, but it didn't really affect the taste much as It was a great meal overall! Would I go to Monsoon bistro again? There's no doubt! I want to go back and try their Pho Thai, which I'll be sure to do and update you guys with!

HoneyBaked Ham

10841 Manchester Rd

Reviews:
Last year I got overwhelmed trying to brine and cook my own ham as well as smoke a turkey... all while preparing a bevy of sides. This year for my early Thanksgiving meal with family I decided to pick up a ham from HoneyBaked. It comes refrigerated, pre sliced and ready for serving. The ham was good. They said to take it out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving so it gets to room temperature. I prefer the ham much warmer than that. I'd suggest bringing it to room temperature and then popping it in the oven prior to serving. They had a coupon online. The prices in the store were cheaper than what online quoted.
They have hambones! And, a fantastic split pea mix. My kids beg me to make split pea soup, and I always did after a holiday ham had been thoroughly ravaged. So, it was a once in awhile thing. When I found out that I could just get the hambone for about 9 bucks, the soup made the winter meal rotation more frequently. Which is great---little effort is required and the soup lasts for a few meals. And everyone is fat and happy :)
I work right next to Honey Baked Ham and am amazed I haven't been going there sooner for lunch. I ordered the Tavern club and got the Broccoli bacon blitz as my side. My sandwich? Perfection. Thick cut ham, turkey, bacon, cheddar, and all the trimmings on this incredibly soft and tasty honey wheat bread. I dream of making deli sandwiches this well rounded. My side, the broccoli bacon blitz, sadly did not have the bacon flavor I was hoping for. It had a very sweet taste (almost like a broccoli salad). I still enjoyed it, but didn't notice much bacon flavor at all. If you're looking for a lunch alternative to, say, St. Louis Bread Co, give Honey Baked Ham a try. For about the same price or less you get a full sandwich rather than a half, and they have a wider variety of side options.

I might have gone in expectations that were too high based on a friend's recommendations and all of the great reviews, but I wasn't blown away. In fact, I was disappointed all around. So many of the reviews here said they had tons of sides that you could choose from instead of getting rice & beans with your chosen entree. Apparently they have changed the menu. While they do have sides and sharables that you can order separately, every item had standard sides included. That's not a problem, just not what I was expecting. I was less than impressed with my food. I ordered chicken & steak fajitas, and the meat was tough and lacked seasoning. The stead was actually overly well done. If the meats weren't mixed in with the toppings in a fajita to help disguise that they were blah, I would have been even less happy with my meal. They only brought 3 tortiallas (I asked for more). There was no way that you could eat all of your meat in just those 3 little tortillas unless you skipped all of the goodies that come with it. I also tasted the Queso Fundido dip which reminded me of a bland velveeta texture dip...and I love cheese so it's hard to disappoint me with it. But this one did. The guacamole had too much pepper in it for me...I don't like spicy at all so while this will be a hit with heat lovers, it wasn't with me. The chips were good and it was nice to get a Dos XX beer on tap. We were seated by the bar which was fine, but the place definitely has a chain restaurant feel to it. My 2 friends got the enchilada plates and they seemed happy enough but I realize now that I didn't actually ask them what they thought of the food. The service was also pretty odd. Our assigned waitress seemed to have a little trouble with English, surprising in St. Louis in a non-family run Mexican restaurant. She just wasn't on her game at all. Rarely stopped back by. One woman ordered a cocktail and the bartender delivered 2 of them...he said she told him we wanted 2. The water wasn't served until she finally delivered the drinks...long after the chips and hot salsa were on the table. We did have 2 other people that seemed to be checking on us too, so many they were aware that this server wasn't doing so well or she was new. While I would go back if a friend asked to go there, I wouldn't be all that excited and would avoid everything I ate on this visit. Given that Ballwin is just as much a trek for me as heading to the city, I would probably try to talk my friends into Rosalita's downtown instead. Now THAT was amazing Mexican food.
Saturday 10/1/11 was my first time here. Yes, I looked at the Yelp reviews first before walking in. We were greeted promptly and seated in the bar. Our waitress Danielle was very polite and was able to give recommendations and provide a wonderful lunch experience. We wanted to try both the guacamole and queso cheese so they gave us a 1/2 order of each. They totally deserve "Cool Points" for that! We ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. WOW! The Chicken was amazing! I have been to a lot of Mexican restaurant establishments in my life but Senor Pique was such a wonderful experience. The food was full of flavor and the chips and salsa was very fresh. I had the opportunity to meet the owner of the restaurant and he was so delighted for our patronage to his restaurant. It was so nice to dine at a place that was so friendly and that had such wonderful tasting food. I asked for some hot sauce also and got some Habanero salsa that I used with my Fajitas that provided a nice additional "heat" experience to my food. Make sure you look at the 2008 Chef award for resident "Mom" and Chef (Maria E. Gutierrez-Molina) My Bottom Line: Go and enjoy a wonderful Mexican food experience!
I had passed by Senor Pique multiple times and never really thought about stopping by based on their sign. The name Senor Pique is really small, and all you can really see from Manchester or even in the same parking lot is Mexican Restaurant and Margarita Bar. I wasn't really motivated to stop by a place that I didn't think had a real name, but finally decided to give it a try only to discover the true name was Senor Pique and not a generic name like Mexican Restaurant and Margarita Bar. Anyways I ordered the Quesdilla Gringos with steak, and was extremely surprised. The steak was tender and amazingly delicious. Portion sized were very generous, I plan on returning to try more of the menu.

Great, cheap food for a taco fix! I appreciate the friendly, speedy food (you pick it up at the window), and cute atmosphere. Lots of choices for everyone and excellent salsa. Seriously, the salsa is worth the trip. I could make a meal out of their seasoned chips and salsa! You can make it a meal with some decent sides, like black beans or cilantro rice. All in all, not a typical Mexican place - not super authentic - but tasty and decently priced.
One of my favorite places. The ease and speed of the ordering process and service is what I like. The breakfast burrito with chorizo is good. The chicken nachos are awesome with plenty of chicken and warm gooey cheese drizzled on top. I prefer the Habanero sauce over the butt burnin sauce for the heat. My friend always gets the tacos. They are crispy and look good. We always get the queso too, it is very good.
Fuzzy's you are growing on me. It's just that THIS LOCATION is so tiny...and so different from Webster... Chips and Queso is the winner here. Stir in the Fuzzy's Butt Burning Hot Sauce on the table and it makes the Queso worthy or return visits. I LOVE the seasoning on the chips. Fast casual pace of Fuzzy's makes it good for families. Easy to just come as you are. I will be back for more of that Queso. One of these days I will try that margarita with the split of champagne!!!

Halal Pizza in West County St Louis that is on point with freshness ,tasty and plain goodness. The chicken biryani is very good and chicken tandoori is some of the best I have tasted MashaAllah Service: Well I have called in my pizza orders a couple times and my orders were not even started when I got there like 30 mins later. However it has been a yr or two since I have been so maybe they have gotten better in this area
Meh is about right and two stars is a tad generous. Our experience wasn't all the way to eek but it was also far from a-ok. My dish (chicken kebab) was relatively tasty even if it wasn't what I ordered. I'm not sure why they couldn't produce a beef kebab but I suppose that is neither here nor there. It came with a thin green sauce that was very flavorful and a naan that was clearly not made on-site. It was described as coming wiht a salad as well but that amounted to a healthy pinch of plain lettuce that occupied one of the two smaller food compartments in the Chinet plate my $10 meal was served upon. We also ordered a couple of samosas as appetizers but they showed up between the arrival of the wife's entree and the arrival of my entree. I cut into one and it was cold inside. Those went back but it showed me they were clearly just frying up frozen products. The wife's gyros was severely lacking and I could tell by looking at it that I wouldn't like it. The meat clearly came into the store pre-sliced and was warmed on-site. I tried a piece of the pita and it was alright but nothing special. It had a little bit of sauce on it such that I could dell they add dill - not sure why that is a STL thing but it doesn't really match well with gyro meat in my opinion. Her sandwich also included lettuce and tomato - another STL thing, I suppose. I found the fact that the older gentleman who worked there started to wipe the table with a dishcloth after clearing our assorted paper plates to be quite disconcerting. We asked him to wait a second so we could get out of the booth before the table crumbs landed in our laps. I'm not sure that much of the food they offer is actually prepared on-site. Thanks but no thanks - there are far better places in the area offering the same dishes. I can reheat stuff at home.
Pizzas are great! But the burgers can be better. I would prefer pizza. The best thing about cafe lazeez is that it is halal! :)
