We found Daybreak Donuts and Diner this weekend when driving through Clarksville and Louisiana and noticed that quite a few businesses have closed or have moved. The wooden "Open" sign outside was calling for our patronage. We complied. It's very much the small town place. We opted for donuts rather than a late breakfast. My glazed donut was just as sugary but bigger and tastier than a Krispy Kreme. The donuts were half price AND there were two boxes of assorted "orphan" donuts for sale for $4/each. How many in the box? 14! Excellent deal. A friendly employee offered me a water when I wanted nothing to drink. I'll be back.
I just love local places like Daybreak. My wife and I were driving through Louisiana and decided to stop after reading reviews on Yelp (my wife was driving - I was looking up places to eat in the area on my phone). We went in and were greeted by a very nice lady, sorry I do not remember her name, she was the owner or the manager. Everyone was friendly and the food was great. I had 2 pancakes, which were super huge and delicious and my wife had an omelette which looked fantastic. We also got donuts to go and, since it was towards the end of the morning, the owner/manager threw in a couple of more donuts at no charge! That's why I love places like Daybreak!
Exactly what you expect from a small time diner. The people that work there are super sweet and fairly friendly. My husband and I were not the locals, but were with his uncle who frequents the place enough to know the staff. I really enjoyed the fried cinnamon bun. Basically those store bought honeybuns thrown on a griddle cooking station. So evil, but super delish. The donuts weren't too bad either. Great deal for the donuts that we ordered for the road. The regular blazed was a little dense, but the other ones were pretty good.

For a very small town like this there food is what I'd expect. I gave it a rating compared to other small towns, if I didn't this place would be 2 star. I had a buffet. The buffet was small. You get a salad bar and a few meat dishes. It's nice to have this place as an alternative of fast food. If your not in a hurry, and I stress that, go to the Eagles Nest restaurant in this town there food is better.
