    A quaint little place in the Boonies. I tried this by myself last weekend and will return with my family and friends. I had a pulled pork sandwich, salad bar and a $2.50 specialty beer and the entire tab was less than $9 not including tip. Coming in from the north, you need to get off 63 to the parallel street that runs through town that goes toward Montauk. Several miles out the turn to Montauk is marked. Go straight here and continue a quarter mile or so and Olig's is on the left. The place isn't very big but it is well kept up and inviting. The downstairs seating was full so I took a seat upstairs--almost like an attic. The stairs are a little steep and tight and the place is nothing fancy but it works great by me. The waitresses were very attentive and pleasant. I initially ordered water with my meal and was impressed that it was a big 32 ounce tumbler which suits this thirsty old boy just fine. The beer I had later was a Black Walnut beer from the Piney microbrew by Houston Missouri just to the south. They also had Blue Moon and Bud Light and maybe 3 others. The sandwich was a medium size on Texas Toast and the pork was very good. The Mr. Brown was smoky and not too chewy and was a pretty reddish brown. I didn't sneak a look at their pit but I'll be back for that and to try their brisket. They had two choices for sauces, Sweet and Hot. The waitress warned that the hot was really hot and she wasn't kidding--seemed to be black pepper. I liked the flavors but these are sweet and syrupy and a little dab will do ya. The salad bar is on the main floor in an old metal-wheeled farm wagon. Salads looked home-made and I found the potato salad impressive. A sweet and sour recipe with good balance. Slaw was oil/sugar/vinegar which is what I like with BBQ. The Barbecue is authentic, no liquid smoke or crockpot cookery here. It does take some effort to find the place. They had a big crowd of families late on Saturday so it is a popular place.

    We ate at 4 BBQ restaurants, from Licking, MO to Hogden, OK, over the course of 9 days. Of the four, this one is the third best. We ate there two nights, once inside and once on their porch. The staff was friendly and helpful. The BBQ was good, but nothing that made me say wow (have been eating/sampling BBQ while living in and traveling through the South since 1991). The alcoholic selection was better than most places on our trip. The highlights for me were the potato salad and cucumber salad from the salad bar. The cucumber salad was a nice, light compliment to the BBQ. The potato salad had pickle in it, if I recall correctly, which was a nice twist. Fill up on the salad bar when you go. You are only allowed one trip.

    Great home style BBQ with large portions. You won't go hungry here. Medium to high price-wise but well worth it.

    While in licking was looking for a place to eat there is not a lot of selection but found this great little bar-b-q restaurant. Definitely some where I would eat again. We had a party of 13 and the service was great and everyone thought the good was great

    Great family service! I had the chicken wings with the Hot (not very hot ) spice and they were perfect! The salad bar was freshly home made. The local Piney River brown ale on tap was great and only $2.50!! Highly recommend this place!
