I tried a cold-pressed juice and the oatmeal cookie protein shake. Both were freshly made right when I ordered and she even offered to bottle up my juice in case I wanted to drink it later. Overall, both were tasty and just what I was looking for! I'll definitely be back the next time I am in DTLS!

Sabor Latino Meals

607 NE Woods Chapel Rd

Reviews:
This is authentic Latin American food. Everything is fresh and not microwaved. It is a must go to in Eastern Jackson County!
When it comes to authentic Latin American food, this is as good as it gets! Not a Mexican Restaurant, but the classic favorites from several different Latin American countries. For example their Honduran Tamale is superb. The Pupusas from El Salvador are spectacular. Plus great selections from just about every other country in Central and South America. Yeah, their location isn't out on a hot spot corner, but they are well worth the visit. And you simply won't find friendlier service. They truly are grateful for your business. And nope, I'm not at all associated with them. I'm just happy to have found them in my neighborhood.
if this is the same place that was on 40 hwy, it is amazing. Very friendly and warm people who run/own it. So glad it's now closer, more conveinent on my way home from work.

Unk’s Burgers

240 NW Oldham Pkwy

Reviews:
The service and food here was outstanding. I enjoyed being able to draw on the paper on the tables. The burgers were very tasty, and the available topping made it even better. The beans here are really great too.
Outstanding. They replaced the signage recently in their shopping center, so it's a lot easier to spot Unk's. Next to Bike Stop in Lee's Summit, by the DMV office. Prior to the past week or two, it was hard to find this place despite being in a relatively high traffic area. Great burger. Have been meaning to try this place for a while. The server was very friendly, albeit maybe a touch overwhelmed by herself. The baked beans are great. Get them on the side. The burger meat was more tasty than average. If you're a first timer, ask for a sample, they'll let you try them first. I really only have one knock on this place, hence my deduction of one star. They won't give you complimentary water. You have to buy a bottled water. This strikes me as petty and cheap. I hate to deduct a star for it, but honestly, it's poor service, and they should rethink this policy. It's just plain customary to provide a glass of water at American restaurants. I know you want me to buy a drink, since the profit margin is high...but FORCING me to comes off as abrasive. Several of our party were going to buy drinks anyway, but it just annoyed the others that they had to buy a bottled water. It wasn't about the money, it's the principle of it. A restaurant should make people feel like a guest, not a paycheck. Relatively minor issue. The food was very good, and we'd go back. It would be a five star if not for this petty issue. Our daughter enjoyed being able to draw on the paper on the table.
I've been heading back more frequently since they have introduced a $7.99 combination deal. It includes a burger, side and drink. The burger is a bit smaller than their other ones (4 oz vs. 5 1/2, I think) but it's certainly big enough. For sides, I've tried the fried pickles (they didn't do it for me although I usually like fried pickles) french fries and sweet potato tots. The tots are BOSS! Still same great family operating this place, and you'll have a hard time finding a better tasting burger. Seriously.

Thai Spice

Reviews:
We are fans and regulars! I love the sesame chicken and the Lee's Summit Rolls. They have great Thai Ice tea and coffee. The staff is very nice and it is very prompt. Although, I do agree with a previous post about the atmosphere...extremely quiet. I almost felt I couldn't talk at all because everyone in the whole place was listening...turn up some music please :O)
The food here is excellent. I suggest that you order your meal to be a bit less spicy than you think you would like and then ask for the condiment tray so you can add heat to the level you desire. Be sure to try a soup. My mother does not like spicy food and yet, whenever she visits, this is the place she wants to go to eat. I suspect that this is because the owner always makes a fuss over her.
The service is outstanding, the food even better. Try the Lee's Summit spring rolls or the Thai spice noodles with shrimp and you'll see why this place is a five!

Culver’s

1701 NE Douglas St
Lee's Summit, 64086
Reviews:
Culver's is somewhere between fast food and a sit down restaurant. They aren't bad, but they aren't amazing. You can get a burger or tenderloin sandwich or chicken strips. Nothing flashy, but always the same quality. They kind of have everything you might be looking for in quick Midwestern eats. You won't be blown away, but you won't be disappointed either.
I like the burgers, but seriously ... I go here for the Turtle Sundae. The frozen custard is sooooo much better than any ice cream, even Baskin Robbins.
My oldest son had been trying to get me to go to a Culver's for a year or so after it first opened. I said "A Butter Burger just doesn't sound appealing to me but thanks." Then one day my youngest two (I have 4 kids) and I were looking for somewhere to eat and we stopped at Culver's. When we left I said "okay here's the thing. If your brother asks it was..JUST...OKAY..got it?" We figure he's right a lot so there's no need letting him know it. I've had single and double ButterBurgers but more often than not I get the Wisconsin Swiss Melt Value Basket. Not enough places make patty melts anymore and this is a really good one so it satisfies the urge. They serve crinkle cut fries which a re a must for a good patty melt, in this case Wisconsin Swiss Melt. I top off my meals with a Fresh Frozen Custard Chocolate Malt. My daughter usually gets a Double ButterBurger with Cheese Value basket (burger fries and drink) I have asked her more than once why get a ButterBurger with Cheese and not a Cheddar ButterBurger. Sounds like the same thing to me but they ARE different menu items. She (& the counter person) explained Butterburger with Cheese gets American Cheese where obviously the Cheddar ButterBurger gets cheddar. Can you tell I don't eat a lot of Cheeseburgers? (unless they are patty melts) The real stand out thing for Culver's is similar to all my experiences with the local Chick-fil-a, the place is always clean and the kids that work there are so nice and helpful. Everyone is super friendly. Most of my local fast food experience has been mediocre at best so coming into Culver's or Chick-fil-a make me feel like I've entered a parallel dimension where people are nice and kind. Culver's tends to get a lot of after 'youth event' crowds so it can get busy and a little loud but then it's that kind of a place so who cares right? By the way I finally did break down and tell my oldest that he was right and Culver's is great.
