This restaurant has been around for so long. The only reason I've ever eaten here is due to convenience because it's located inside Northpark mall. Prices are reasonable and it's easy to get a table. The food is decent, not much to rave about. It's just your typical American food joint.

Our server was great! I had the southern fried chicken salad with dressing in the side with avocado. Although I got guacamole and bit avocado everything was excellent.

I was there today, it was not busy. Maybe 3 or 4 other tables. When they sat us, our booth had grease all on the seat and our silverware napkins were filthy with stains. When I finally flagged someone down they wiped it off and got us a new set of silverware. We waited 10 minutes for water, and while we were waiting someone else came by and said they'd be right with us. I guess they have zero communication there. When we did get waters, I had to ask to order an app, simple chips and salsa. The server ignored me. So we waited another 5-10 mins for him to come back. I ordered the 2 for 20, which includes an app (chips and salsa is on it) so I just ordered our meals, he asked what I wanted for the app. Umm, so I repeated myself and he didn't act like he registered I had ever asked for it. Whatever. We kept needing our waters refilled and some random lady (not our server) finally filled them. The food was sub-par and the wait staff was idiotic. When we would talk to our server he wouldn't respond, very awkward. Especially at the end when he handed us the incorrect ticket to pay and we had to wait another 10 mins for him to come back for us to tell him. He grabbed it, looked at it and didn't say a word, nothing like "I'll be right back, or just a minute." Super strange. We put our card in the holder and waited another 5-10 mins until we all coughed up cash so we could get the hell out of there. The server had the nerve to bring us a 5$ coupon for our next visit when he finally brought the correct ticket, needless to say we will not be back and the coupon stayed on the table.

What a mistake it was to ever eat at Garfield's. Its in a mall for christ sakes I should have known better. I ate here once in the late nineties and remembered it being good. The thing I forgot about that trip was that I was fall down drunk that night. Eating here again in June, I realized that there is absolutely no reason to ever walk in here again. Its like an applebees only worse (didn't think that was possible considering applebees is pretty much the worst place ever!). If you're a hillbilly that's never traveled outside of a 100 mile radius of SW MO then this place might seem alright, but people who've been to decent restaurants know this place sucks. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Fun atmosphere where you can draw on the tables. An american spin on a variety of international dishes. I've never been disappointed with a meal but can't recall ever having my socks knocked off either. Kids eat free Sunday lunch, which is nice!

Service was VERY slow. Claudia was our server. She was friendly but extremely slow & there were only 4 others in our area. Good was pretty good but it took over an hour for chicken strips & Mac-n-cheese.

This is not by any means a bad place to eat. It's comfortable and casual, and fun for adults or kids to draw on the butcher paper tablecloths that differentiate Garfields from similar restaurants. It definitely has that collegiate, sports bar vibe. A lot of young families eat there, probably due to the mall location. So if you're expecting a quiet romantic dinner, this isn't the place to go. They have decent American food but nothing out of the ordinary. Garfields' wait staff leaves a lot to be desired, however. You will get snippity remarks if you special order anything and it's clear they're expecting lush tips from anyone who gets a cocktail and treat non-drinkers like piranha.

Garfield's is an excellent place to sit and eat. The food is great (it is Applebee-esque). The service is good and they have multiple TVs around the restaurant which helps with the wait for the main course. And it's in the mall which is convenient.
