    I would give 0 stars if it would let me. I ordered the "pepper crusted steak and grains" as the photo in the menu made it look appealing. The food was presented in front of me quicker than a Hyundai can hit 0-60 and the presentation made it look like it was just rolled out of a bag, the kitchen didn't even attempt to spread it around the plate. The plate was hotter than the surface of the Sun, leading me to the conclusion that the entire dish was just simply microwaved. Trust me, you're better off buying a TV dinner from your local grocery store. :(

    Yeah hell hole. Food was absolutely terrible. The mushroom dish we got hardly had mushrooms and looked like someone's leftovers. We'll go to 4th meal over this if we get that desperate.

    We have ate here many times over the years and it was always a good meal. The past 2 times were horrible. We were here Saturday and I hate being negative about things but this was the worst. Our waitress paid more attention to the young single guys behind us and didn't give us any service. The food was so bad I got a doggie bag to bring home a $45 meal to feed my dog. We will never return again. Very very bad

    30 minutes to get chips which were greasy and cold. Dried food chunks on silverware. 2nd order of chips were better. Ribs were good. Overall experience not so good.

    here is my problem with this establishment. the smoking area fills the entire center of the restaurant and the non-smoking areas are very affected by this. i sat in the "non-smoking" section and right next to my table in the "smoking" section were two ladies and a baby and they smoked before, during and after the meal. This affected the taste and smell long after i left. The food and service were good, but until they make this a non-smoking restaurant i will not be dining in again.

    Bad food and even worse service. I am not sure if I had lunch here on a bad day, but it took over an hour for us to get our order. Salad and soup doesn't seem so complicated right? I guess not. After 45 minutes we were about to walk out and the manager told us that the cheek was on him and that if we stayed a few more minutes he'd bring us our food. We waited 10 more minutes and our salads and cold soups arrived. The chinese salad was terrible and the french onion tasted so salty and artificial. I am only giving this Applebee's 2 stars because I actually did like the cold tomato soup. The manager took off our appetizer but made us pay for our meals. So we ended up wasting 1.5 hours and spending ~$20 (for 2 people) for a crappy lunch. I don't plan on coming back.

    It's Applebee's. They have a range of moderately priced over salted food just like every Applebee's in America. The servers are pretty good though, if you are into sports they have a wide range of tv's and speakers at the tables in the bar section so you can pick which one you want to listen to. The only reason I occasionally come here is that they and their kitchen is open until midnight so if you or a friend work late and want food that isn't served in a bag this is really the only option in Joplin.

    For a chain sports bar, this isn't too bad, and I definitely prefer it over Buffalo Wild Wings. There are a lot of side options and I like that many entrees come in half size or lunch size. The thing that I dislike about this Applebees is the service. We invariably get a fake-bubbly server who looks all of 12 and acts very condescending to our party of late 20- and 30-somethings. That doesn't fly well with me at all.

    Good food, great service, large portions. Mom's friend wanted to eat here, so we had dinner here one night. It was very busy, and, unlike California, smoking is still allowed in restaurants here, so it was a 'different" experience for me. I need to find a local Applebees.

    Ate here the other night and wasn't totally impressed, infact I have seen better. If anyone who knows the sports bar, Sportsman Park in Joplin will realize that Applebee's is a scaled down version. Never realized that Applebee's is a sports bar. Not really into Sports bars so I wasn't too impressed with the atmosphere and the cramp space. It has a very small area of room. Also what did not impress me was the price...which was pretty expensive. Not recommended for a college student budget. However the food is pretty delicious. Costs always outways the taste in my opinion.

    The food here is always good and there is usually a steady flow of people. However, you have to walk through the smoking section to get to where you want to go. Definitely a turn-off for me but we ask for a booth in the back and can't smell anything.
