Fantastic barbecue, particularly the burnt ends. I've eaten at quite a few bbq joints in Kansas City and the surrounding area, and this is my favorite. Great pies too!

WOW, what a comfortable place to enjoy a Saturday lunch with the family ! The porkchop sammie was perfect. My daughter loved the chicken tenders. The fresh homemade desserts were fabulous. It was well worth the trip down from the Big City. I just wish someone hadn't ate all the pumpkin Crisp last Sunday at the game. I was really hoping for some more !! See you soon.

Best BBQ. Best prices. Clean, historic atmosphere. Family friendly. Secret-to-the-natives kind of place! Perfect place to bring visitors to impress! Your mother-in-law will love the decor and your father-in-law will rave about the smoked meats for years to come. Great place for a mid week date as it is quiet and the lighting is nice. Try the two meat plate, with choices like burnt ends, half chicken, beef brisket with two sides ( make sure you make one or both of these smoked beans!) you won't believe how good this is and only 20 minutes from Warrensburg.

Great little place. I have never been in here and gotten poor service from the staff and the food is good as well. Most recently when I was here I had the Burnt Ends dinner. The meat was cooked well, however I am accustomed to my burnt ends being chopped much smaller than these were. They serve the ends (and all other dinners)with your choice of two sides, but I typically opt to replace my sides with a dinner salad. This is not to say their other sides are bad, their French fries are very crisp and delicious, but their ranch dressing is just that good. Actually, after my first trip here the ranch and the polite service is what has kept me coming back. They sell their dressings by the pint and trust me you will want to take home this rich, creamy concoction. The space is kind of small and creates an odd echo making it sound a little loud, but overall it is beautifully decorated and comfortable enough to bring your family yet with an almost private seating feel (I think this is due to the lighting, overall the place is fairly dark but each table has a lamp). If you're passing through Holden and you need a meal this is definitely a good spot.
