What can I say? This place was amazing!!! Christine has every detail worked out so that guests will have a wonderful, relaxing and unique visit. The cottage is just straight out of Little House on the Prairie. I couldn't stop walking around admiring all the beautiful little accents around the room. She left us chocolate peanut butter cheesecake in our refrigerator and made us a breakfast in the morning that was out of this world! Definitely ask her recommendations of what to do in Hermann because we enjoyed everything she said to do (notably- eating at The Cottage and all the cats at Adam Puchta Winery). The cottage is on a picturesque little alley and the town itself is cute and walkable. Even my boyfriend enjoyed lounging in the cozy leather chairs in the cottage to read and relax while I was out antiquing. Perfect weekend get away. We will be back to this place!
Quaint Luxury! Outstanding accommodations and dining, as every detail of your stay is thoughtfully prepared. Ms. Christine will absolutely spoil you! What a wonderful retreat which offers you the chance to reconnect with your loved one. We can't wait to come back!
I hate giving away this gem because I want it to be available whenever I want to get away. BUT, I want Chris, the owner to know how much we loved her and this perfect home away from home. My husband and I just got back yesterday for a 5 year anniversary weekend away. I can't say enough wonderful things about the cottage. From the moment you walk up the whimsical brick path to meet your long lost friend Chris to moment she unlocks your door to your cozy, perfect, romantic cottage. Everything is perfect. Chris has thought of EVERYTHING. Even things that you didn't even realize you wanted. You will be spoiled and never want to leave. One night isn't enough for this B&B. You will want to stay at least 2 nights (or a week). Chris gives just the right amount of attention to you that you feel special and not forgotten but also gives you your space for that much needed time alone. Breakfast is unreal. The place settings alone were enough to impress but then she brings out such decadent, beautiful dishes that are to dye for. BREAKFAST. WAS. DELICIOUS. The farm fresh eggs from her chickens made it all just that much better. After breakfast Chris gives you your dessert for that evening to keep in your fridge. This was perfect after a long day of winery trips and dinner. To snuggle up and enjoy your wonderful dessert was just blissful. Chris also gave us wonderful recommendations on local restaurants and wineries, so don't forget to ask her. I don't think our trip would have been as good as it was if it had not been for her great advice. The cottage is set on a tiny little road that feels like something out of a storybook. It is also in the heart of historic downtown so if the weather is nice you can walk anywhere. Not only will we back again and again but we made a new lifelong friend in Chris. We adore her and her special time and place she gives to people. This place is so very special as is Chris. We love you!!!! Missy and Toby

Will I go back? Absolutely!. This is an old farmhouse just north of the Missouri River. The setting is quiet, relaxing, and beautiful. It is minutes from the wineries, restaurants, and other attractions of Hermann. Eldon and Maggie are courteous, friendly, welcoming hosts. Their only concern is that you enjoy your stay. It's as if we were staying with relatives or old friends from the moment we walked in the door. The breakfast is amazing. The morning we were there we had the berry breakfast that had stuffed french toast with fresh strawberries, an egg souffle, and a blueberry pie made that morning from berries picked from their own berry patch. My wife and I enjoyed sitting on the porch, reading our books, and watching the swarms of humming birds fluttering around. The room we stayed in was spacious and decorated with books and a sitting area to just relax. If you are staying near Hermann you have to stay here.

This is a real gem of a place. The staff is super friendly and service is fast. The food is fresh and seasonal. Most recently I enjoyed the shrimp and grits. I subbed my salad for the roasted veggies which are WAY more fun than a salad any day. Topped it all off with a generous slice of coconut cream pie (that was filled to bursting with coconut, I might add). This is comfort food at it's best. Do keep in mind that reservations, while not required, are a good idea. Also, they will run out of things towards the end of the evening, sometimes it happens right at your own table! It happened to me when one of my 7 dining companions ordered the last of the turnip gratin right out from under me. It all worked out because she shared. It's a good thing too or I might be typing this from a Gasconade County jail cell. ;)
Great little place just outside of Hermann, MO! Everything is cooked fresh, and the menu changes based on the in-season produce. We had the creamed cauliflower and red pepper soup, Mimis chicken salad, pan fried chicken with real mashed potatoes, and orange cheesecake and triple brownie ala mode. We liked the Cottage better than the Vintage restaurant at Stone Hill.
I'm surprised no one has posted a review yet. Then, maybe I shouldn't because the secret would be out about this little hidden gem. Every time I go, I fall in love with the ambience. It's in an old cottage house, on a hill (no brainer for Hermann) and nestled in a woodsy area. Inside, the decor is a cottagey white-washed palette (clean and crisp) accented by juicy rainbow colors. Each table has a different overlay atop the white tablecloth (orange, green, aqua, yellow, etc.). And the walls are decorated with colorful, original artwork. Their is an artist studio next door. Outdoor seating available. But you can't eat ambience as the saying goes. Not to fear, because the food is fantastic. Never had a bad meal there. Last dinner I had featured the rib eye with the garlic-cheese mashed potatoes and green beans with carmelized onions. The steak was so juicy and seasoned perfectly. Large size as well. Served with fluffy biscuits. And, they offer raspberry ice tea. It seemed like it took the server forever to tell us all the dessert options. So many yummy choices! I passed because I was so full but my friends say the caramel cake is to die for. The restaurant at the Stone Hill winery is also wonderful. But don't limit yourself when you visit Hermann. Give this fabulous place a try, too!

As far as atmosphere goes, you won't find it here. The decor is very bland and boring, although some feeble attempts were made to make it look "Mexicanish or whatever". But just go here and try the food. Particularly the Mexican chicken soup. It's served with a buncha avocado, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, sour cream, lime and cilantro. It is a LAKE of soup. Seriously, it's huge and pretty pretty cheap too. It has flavor shooting out its eyeballs (which it doesn't actually have because it's just soup...gross). I didn't even order it, but my brother & his girlfriend did because they were in the know on how amazing it is. I ordered chilaquiles which were also fantastic! Nothing wrong with corn tortilla chips, shredded chicken, spicy red sauce and a ton of melty cheese. Their margaritas are really good, but not the best I've had. But definitely worth it to check this place out.
New server was atrocious! Large group say next to us, ordered after we did and got their food first. LOUD! ANNOYING! Never going there again!
This place looks like a dump. However their food is excellent. If the restaurant looked nicer, i'd give it 5 stars. I always get their super fajita quesadilla. It's delicious!

I had some reservations about coming here this past weekend given some of the beers I tried last time I was here. Luckily, I had a little liquid courage in me this past weekend and decided to give them a second chance. I'm SO glad I did! So much better than last time! Similar to the first time I came, I decided to get the beer sampler. The sampler is $8 and comes with six 2 oz samples. They select 4 beers and then you get to choose 2 from a list of about 10-15 beers. I believe it comes with Red Caboose, Skyscraper, either Barrel Aged Stout or Midnight Whistle (I can't remember), and a fourth beer (again, can't remember). I thought the beers they selected were pretty good (but nothing out of the ordinary). With that said, I really enjoyed the two beers that I chose, which were the Pumpkin Lager and a berry beer (which I think is infused with wine). I LOVED the berry beer. I thought it was super refreshing and delicious. I also really enjoyed the Pumpkin Lager. The only two things that would move this place from 4 to 5 stars would be to let you select all 6 beers. I'm guessing they don't do this because it is always so busy. The second would be to lower the price. Other than that, i really enjoyed this place. In addition to beer, they have root beer and some OK/pretty good food to choose from, such as pizza, sandwiches, and pretzels. I had pretzels with cheese, which were pretty good (but nothing amazing). They also have two big seating areas. They have an outdoor beer garden and then a great hall downstairs. I think you can also grab a game to play while you're here. In sum, much, MUCH better than last time....and definitely get the berry beer!
I'm from KC and we have quite a few up and coming breweries here. Having said that, Tin Mill is stellar. We went for a drink before dinner on a Saturday night and came back the next morning for another round! The first time, we each had the sample and each sample was better than the last. My boyfriend and I just looked at each other in astonishment as we tried down the line. Having said all that, I will say that we did not eat here. Atmostphere wise, they are lacking slightly. Both times we were in, we were one of two couples. The music is 80s rock (think Styx and Boston) and there are board games in the corner for amusement. Strangely, the environment seemed somewhat sterile. There wasn't a ton of personality. You can tell their focus is on making stellar beer-- not on the decor. However, their beer is stellar to say the least. That alone makes this place a solid 5 star place as far as I'm concerned.
I myself am not a fan of the Brewery. But do like the restaurant across the road. Love the old fashion look. Very friendly staff greeted with a smile. Food was very good and not a long wait. Thank you. Enjoyed it
