High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. Well today was different! I went to Applebees today because they were having a special free food sampling you get to try 2 free samples and you could taste up to 3 other samples at $3 apiece. Okay that's great everything went fine until I ordered the nachos. The waiteress brought the nachoes and some were burnt not all of them but quite a few were burnt on the edges. I said to the waitress some of these nachos are burnt, she replied, 'oh those are just the chips, its ok." Well sorta like barbecue I thought to myself well if its a little char on BBQ it may give it flavor. I bit into the nachos that was burnt and it tasted horrible, it left a very nasty taste in my mouth. The waitress said I could bring you some more and I thought no I'm good, why would you bring these in the first place. I just wanted to make the manager who was on duty between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. on July 21st 2015 aware! I just wanted to let him know that if you guys are doing a promotion like this to impress new customers and you presenting new customers with burnt nachos this was not a good idea. Well while we were talking about the nachoes the restaurant manager replied oh that's just the chips. Again I thought presentation of food is important to me! He went on to say they come out like that when we put them under the broiler to melt the cheese. I said that's understandable But shouldn't she have taking off the burnt ones first before giving them to me or before bringing my plate? The manage answeres no! I said well have you tasted burnt nachoes they are horrible? he say yes, I find them delicious! I thought to myself what a bunch of nincompoops, these people working here that's why this restaurant gets bad reviews. They think it's ok to present food to someone burnt. Instead of taking the time to take the bad pieces out and replace them with good pieces which will make more business sense. This manager, he blew it. He had an opportunity to WOW me with the WOW factor and missed it. He could have simply said she should have brought them without the burnt pieces and I apologize, would you like some more! He missed the whole point and got defensive about the service.

I've been going to Applebee's forever! Finally, time to write a review. Several items on the menu that I consider my faves: chicken quesadillas, mini burgers, chicken fajita roll-up, but this visit is all about the Fiesta Lime Chicken. First time having it, won't be the last. I was concerned that the lime juice would throw off the taste, but surprisingly enough, it was the right about of "twang" that the dish needed. Will have it again!

The manager just looks like he's an asshole. Employees cannot work well when he is around, and as a customer, I can tell. And this isn't a good thing. I feel bad for the workers.

Horrible service. Did car side to go, waited in the car for 30 min, finally went in my order wasn't ready. My fries were cold and soggy. They didn't pack my soda that I paid for. WILL NEVER BE BACK.

Ugh...I've said this many times before but this time I mean it. I'm DONE with Applebee's. I can't remember ever having a good experience at any location I've been to. This Florissant location was my most recent. We ordered the pretzel and beer cheese appetizer which was ok. Then I ordered the rib basket with fries and slaw and my daughter ordered the chicken strips, like she does at every other restaurant we visit on this planet. My ribs....we all bone. There was literally no meat on them at all. Maybe a couple pinches of meat on each bone, and I'm not exaggerating this time. I didn't even bother complaining to the manager because the last time I did that (in St Charles) the manager had the nerve to tell me "well I beg to differ, I think our food is pretty good myself", when I complained about my terrible meal. And I'm very cool tempered and was not ignorant at all when making my complaint. The meatless ribs though, were the last straw. Never going back.

I have to give this Applebee's 2 1/2 stars for this outing. It certainly could have been worse but if definitely could have been much better. We waited 30 minutes for a table and it appeared there were only 2 members of the serving staff. The waitress who served us said several times there was only one cook. UGH! We were a party of 7 so on the larger side and so I guess that's why our food was brought to the table in shifts. First out came 2 of our 3 appetizers which were served lukewarm. After they were nearly finished our waitress stopped by to say that the spinach artichoke dip was coming out. "I promise." When it arrived it was obvious that the lovely new serving dishes were a way to hide the fact that the dip was now much smaller than it had been in the past. Our entrees too were served staggered. First my steak, then my sister's chicken fingers. One member of our party had ordered the baby back ribs with no sauce they came with sauce and so were sent back. The next grouping of food brought the Fiesta Lime Chicken, a new order of babyback ribs sans sauce and a riblets basket. Short wait for the next riblets basket and finally after a decent amount of time past the kids chicken grillers. I think we'd have been less disappointed if any of the food had made it to the table piping hot but that was not the case. Our server was very nice but was all over the restaurant. The babyback ribs were small and boney and could hardly be called a half rack, the broccoli as always came unwashed, not trimmed and without seasoning. I really want all the businesses in my community to succeed so please, Applebee's, get it together!

Tony , Decided to try Appleby again after some poor meals. We we're in mood for fried shrimp so all 3 of us ordered the crunchy shrimp .apparently they get the crunchy by over cooking shrimp so its pretty crappy. Not sure I will ever go back.

This Applebee's has to be the best one in North County. Service is always slow in Bridgeton and recently had an AWFUL experience at the one on New Halls Ferry. My co-workers, and my mom are digging the 2 fo $20 and the recently added bottomless soup and salad. I highly recommend the Tomato Basil Soup, one of my favorite tomato soups ever!

This is a good place for dinner or lunch the food is consistently good and the wait staff is usually friendly. If you looking for a good Applebee's experience in North County, then this is the place to go. But, be warned, this place is popular and during peek dinner times, there may be a wait to be seated. It might be better to go a little early or a little late to avoid waiting. They have happy hour 7 days a week from 3pm - 6pm, 9pm - close. During this time appetizers are half off, and they have drink specials. I went there last night around 9pm, and it was packed, but we got seated right away. They used to only serve the happy hour specials in the bar area, but now they offer the specials to the entire restaurant. You get half off apps if you order a drink, and soda counts, so if you order a cola (or beer) your wings will be half off. I sometimes go there and get two apps and a beer, it's a really good deal.

About Applebee's

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain.
