This place is awesome. I hate to say it, but I just might like this more than Ted Drewes. This is an ice cream (ok, frozen yogurt) place that has about a dozen soft serve flavors to choose from. You get your own bowl and can put any flavor or combination of flavors into it. Then, you move to the toppings. They have maybe 20-25 dry toppings like M&Ms, gummi bears, chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc. After that, you get the wet toppings. I'd guess they have like 15 of those. These include cut up pieces of fresh fruit and bobas. After that, they have like 6 different sauces (like fudge, peanut butter, caramel, etc) you can put over everything. After that, they charge you based on weight. The more you get, the more you pay. Their ice cream (froYo) is so good! My favorite is the honeydew melon flavored froYo. I like to put one flavor on one side of my bowl and another flavor on the other side, with toppings appropriate to each. It's so good! I can't say enough good things about this place. Only thing is, watch out how much you get. It can add up quick, especially if you get lots of ice cream (froYo). Great place for a snack in Fenton!

I have 13 check-ins at Menchie's, and that total includes only the number of visits I've made since joining Yelp in April 2014! I obviously like this place, so I'd say it's about time for me to leave them a glowing review. -Background- Menchie's is a chain with locations in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan. If you have Netflix and have any interest in watching Undercover Boss, Menchie's was featured in Episode 5 of Season 5. Menchie's offers yogurt [nonfat, low-fat, tart, no-sugar-added (NSA), low-carb, NSA/low-carb] and sorbet. The Gravois Bluffs location has seven yogurt machines. Each machine contains two flavors as well as an option to swirl those two flavors together. In my experience, most flavors are nonfat or low-fat yogurt. On any given day, I'd say they might offer a total of five flavors that fall into the other categories. That's just an estimate. :) -How It Works- 1. Grab a cup 2. Fill it with the flavors of your choice 3. Add your favorite toppings 4. Pay by the weight of your dessert (currently $0.48 per ounce) This location has its on Facebook page. (Search for Menchie's Gravois Bluffs.) They occasionally post specials on their page, and they frequently post their current flavors. However, if you have your heart set on a certain flavor, I'd recommend calling before you go. I've visited as soon as one day after they posted their flavors and have found the selection to be slightly different. It's no biggie, but I wanted to point it out in case that is an issue for you. -How It Tastes- I go for the sweeter flavors (i.e., NOT tart), and I consequently find myself eating the nonfat and low-fat yogurts. I typically go for a peanut butter flavor if it is available, but I've been pleased with most of the flavors I've tried. They've been creamy, and the flavors have been spot-on. Takes the Cake Batter, Fresh Shredded Coconut, Ice Cream Sandwich, Honey Graham Crumble, and Crisp Irish Mint are some examples of flavors you might see during a visit. I've never tried a tart flavor or a sorbet, but I've sampled a few of the NSA, low-carb, and NSA/low-carb flavors. Those flavors aren't for me, especially those that are both NSA AND low-carb. They taste really off to me. I feel like I'm already being a little healthier by eating yogurt rather than a concrete, so I'll be sticking with the nonfat and low-fat flavors. However, if you have dietary concerns, NSA and/or low-carb yogurt might be of interest to you. (If it's available.) -The Topping Bar- Do you know how I just talked about "being a little healthier by eating yogurt rather than a concrete"? Yeah, that pretty much gets ruined when I visit the topping bar. The topping bar offers what you would expect at a yogurt shop. I think I say that about every yogurt shop I review, but all of them tend to have similar things (e.g., candy, cookies, brownie pieces, cookie dough, cheesecake bits, and fruit.) Menchie's has a nice selection of sauces that include huge pump-style containers of Reese's peanut butter sauce, Hershey's shell, Hershey's chocolate syrup, Hershey's classic caramel, and Hershey's milk chocolate fudge. Every now and then, the topping selection changes a bit. One of their current offerings is mini Nutter Butter cookies. My goodness, how I love those. My favorite mix might just be peanut butter yogurt, mini Nutter Butter cookies, and Hershey's shell. -Service- It's a self-service place, so if you have a problem with the service, you'll have to take that up with yourself. :D Seriously, the employees here are great. They keep the place clean, and they're always there if you need assistance. I don't like to take pictures with people in the background, and it was very difficult for me to get a picture of the store as a whole. I managed to snap a quick "store overview" picture when the guy on duty happened to duck down for a second. -Reward Program- If you like Menchie's, consider joining the "My Smileage" program. You get 1 point (called a "smile") for every dollar you spend, and when you reach 50 smiles, you earn $5 toward yogurt. Based on past purchases, I do not believe they round. For example, if you spend $4.75, I think you get 4 smiles rather than 5. But hey, I'll take it. I even received 25 smiles just for joining! -Summary- This is a great place for a healthy(ish) dessert. For me, however, it ends up being an overindulgent dessert after I've added toppings. You see, I like a little yogurt with my candy. ;) Out of nowhere, I suddenly have a craving for Menchie's. I might have to make my 14th check-in this week!

Summer is around the corner and Menchie's Frozen Yogurt just opened up! How perfectly convenient is that?? What I happen to like about this place is the bright open interior and seating. I also love the fact that it's located on the Bluffs, which I commonly go to, and apparently it's an up and coming big thing for the youngsters on a Friday night. Who knew? They also have great toppings - some of the most I've seen (refer to pictures) and the fruit is always fresh. If you come in and notice that the coconut shavings are gone, it was probably me :) They also offer waffle bowls which smell delicious. Some of the cons: limited parking within the immediate area, but spots seem to open pretty fast. Also it's $0.44/oz which is a little on the high side, but I guess I can't complain due to the convenience. Another suggestion I would have is to have an available self-serve water pitcher since sweets can be overpowering at times. If you frequent this place, make sure you sign up for their card so you can accumulate points.

With all your FroYo choices out there, Menchie's is a must. Maybe I have a bias because this is so stinkin' close to my house, but I also fancy myself somewhat of a FroYo connoisseur and this is the best. Many rotating choices and every topping offering that you've ever seen at a FroYo place. I also really enjoy their fruit sorbet options for those of us with lighter taste. Decor is cute, cups are cute, even the spoons are cute with their little cow faces! Overall, no bad experiences yet and this was our summer hot spot. Side note- the Menchie's "smileage" loyalty program is amazing. I've gotten many free cups this way. Sign up!

This is my favorite FroYo place by far. Very clean and it's so nice and light in there. Awesome selection of course. I don't like that you can't get a glass of water without buying a bottle, but not enough to take away a star.

BEST froyo out there. Lots of flavor selection. Customer service is amazing. Happy, fun environment. Franchise company was on Undercover Boss and has a great culture! Local franchise owners were great also!

Always enjoyed their sugar free flavored but now they don't have any. Very disappointing.
