This is a good ride-to eat breakfast location on a week-day. The food was great, prices are good, and staff is friendly. It is a nice little cafe on an out of the way place. Worth the stop when you are out ad about on the bike
They are now in Smithville mo. Food is not too bad. Some things I would change are as follows ; if you have a daily special be ready to serve it fast. A chicken salad sandwich should not take over 45 minutes to be served. There were tiny bones in my salad. Use better bread than plain white bread or at least provide some choices. When there is a line out the door offer to seat customers, and not say seat yourselves...that policy may work for an open air cafe..I hope the owners will consider these improvements.
Cooks Corner Cafe is a small town, clean and friendly place to eat. We ordered the fried chicken which tasted super fresh, not like it had been basking in salt prior to cooking. Your meal comes with 3 sides and all were tasty (standard sides) especially the gravy, and rolls. The service was a tad slow, but the place was packed, little did I know there was a second huge seating area on the other side of the wall. We took a piece of chocolate peanut butter pie with us for later. It looks delicious. If you likes antiques, they have quite a few antique stores in this little town. It is clear this is THE place to eat for the locals which is a very good sign.
