Great food! Like the others said it's an old Sonic and fairly small but it was pouring rain and probably the only place in town we could have eaten without getting drenched from the car to the table. Young waitresses were all very friendly, cheerful and provided great service. Cinnamon roll was delicious and so was the plate of beef BBQ, sweet brown beans, slaw and yummy fries. Very, very good. We were the youngsters in the after-church crowd with the exception of a few the grandchildren (and we're pushing on 60).

We were in the area and felt like BBQ so gave this place a try. It's located in an old sonic. The servers were incredibly friendly. Everyone gets a free cinnamon roll to start (kind of a strange start for lunch having something that was more of a dessert). The cinnamon roll was a little dry as well. I got the Southern Style sandwich which was pretty much a sloppy Joe but had three meats ground up in it. The sandwich was pretty tasty but nothing earth shattering. The potato chips with it were all small pieces and a little stale. The pickles on the side were standard dill slices but half of mine were all brown. The meal was about $8 with a tea. It was good BBQ, a solid three stars. Service was 4 stars so this place gets 3 1/2

Love Brown's. Always good. It is in an old sonic so the inside is very small. Not somewhere to go if you want to have a serious conversation as everyone can hear everything. My favorite is to just get meat to go. It is always perfect and usually feeds us five times out of a pound of meat. The best part of eating there is they bring you a yeast cinnamon roll while your food is cooking. So delicious! Overall a great place to have in town!

Yummy pulled pork and cole slaw. The baked beans were ok, tasted like Van Camps that had been "doctored" up like my mom used to do. The French fries weren't edible totally undercooked. My husband liked the cinnamon rolls. Overall good food but don't go for the restaurant decor.

The we had the rib special. Meat was cold and ribs were fatty and tough. The sauce on the ribs tasted like cheap ketchup. The food was all piled in one bucket like pig slop. I would have rather eaten a McRib out of a dumpster! Service is friendly and nice but if your hungry this is NOT the place.

Solid BBQ if you are coming through Clinton. Toasted Carolina pulled pork sandwich buns, cole slaw on top--and fantastic hand cut French fries. Little old lady owner is at the stove serving up loaded $6.99 plates, and the local staff is friendly.

Serious BBQ joint. Food was amazing, service was impeccable and price was most agreeable! Would go back here in a heartbeat. One to remember...

Passing through with a group of 12. We sat outside - they wouldn't have been able to fit us inside. The food was great and friendly service.

I LOVE good BBQ. Riding my motorcycle by here and stopped in for lunch. I dont mind dive restaurants, but the food better be good. I was highly disapointed. I ordered Burnt Ends and my wife pulled pork. Both tasted like they were smoked last week, sat in the fridge, and were warmed up prior to serving. This took us by surprise as we were sure their smoker was going. Never again will I waste my $ or time here. Sorry folks, this one is bad.

I can describe this place with one word: YUM! Disguised in an old Sonic Drive In, this place is a wonderful little gem. The smell of hickory greets you as you head towards the door. Once inside you're welcomed by friendly, helpful staff. The ribs are great. They were served dry (which is the way I like them). They had a wonderful flavor and were very meaty. I've also had the fried chicken (the special on Wednesday and Sunday). It's actually pan-fried which you do not much of any more. Of course, I would be remiss if I failed to mention the homemade cinnamon rolls, the homemade rolls, and real mashed potatoes. I've heard Thursday is hot beef night. Hmmm...I wonder if they would be willing to open a second place in Kansas City?

I went right after it opened and I personally didn't care for this place. When we walked in we had to wait forever for a waitress. It was so small (used to be an old sonic) you could barely move. There were maybe 5 people in the whole place and still with two people sitting at a table the chairs were so close you couldn't move your arms and we are both really small people. I can't imagine what it would be like if the place were full. The prices were high I thought for the amount of food. I got a small half sandwich and drink and spent $8. There was so much fat on the sandwich it was inedible. The only thing I could eat was the bun. I told the waitress that as she gave us the check and took our plates and she could see that there was none gone and she said "ya that happens sometimes". That's it. She didn't offer to fix the problem or anything. So I doubt that I will be returning anytime soon.

Having lived in the Clinton area for three years, and having eaten at least once at most of Clinton's restaurants, I declared Brown's Barbeque as the best all-around restaurant in town. How do you spell h-o-m-e-m-a-d-e? Everything they serve is exactly that. All the meats - ribs, pork, brisket, ham and chicken - are smoked on site daily. I usually opt for the pork, but the brisket is just as good, if you prefer beef. The fries are the big hand-cut style with skins left on. The coleslaw is a coarse chop with a perfect amount of dressing. The baked beans are just sweet enough and not overcooked or over-spiced like in a lot of BBQs. But the "cherry on the sundae" has to be the homemade cinnamon roll that comes with every meal. It's brought to the table before the meal, and it's oh-so hard to save it for dessert. Don't let the drab recycled drive-in facade fool you. Good food and friendly service awaits inside. Brown's Barbeque is the "real deal" for great food at a great price.
