I've never had a bad experience at Arby's even during a rush. Though I normally go thru drive-thru the food has always been fresh hot and fast. I'd rather wait a few extra minutes for those super hot fries then be out of there in a second. Oh wait...I did have tea that wasn't the freshest one time, I told them and they fixed it. Most fast food places you have to check your order or get home to find that you are missing half your order but that hasn't happened to me here. I've also never had any rude service which is so hard to find nowadays. So yes I'd recommend our hometown Arby's.

Standing in line and waiting for 20 minutes to get a single, lonely sandwich gave me time to reflect; On the meaning of life, the direction our Great Nation is headed, and especially..... What's up with Arby's? Several things occurred to me. First, judging by the amount of lunch traffic, (including me) Arby's has something people really want. The varieties of food and ways you can get it have expanded from the usual plain roast beef to include a myriad of turkey, smoked brisket, salads and wraps, as well as an almost overwhelming array of deep fried sides. So that explains the lunch crowd, but more importantly, I realized as I stood watching the crowd of anxious faces turn from anticipation to bewilderment, that this is a "one at a time" operation; no "hot n ready", no half-finished sandwiches waiting to be assembled and bagged, not even a pile of pre-sliced meat. It's Subway without the logical line and glass counters, staffed by a group of limited-range tortoises. This may make sense if you line up the customers outside the door and call them in one at a time, but in the middle of "lunch crunch" you need to have some kind of system to get the masses served and out of the way in about 7 minutes. A sophisticated electronic ordering system does you absolutely no good without a means of filling the orders, and judging by the mayhem behind the counter, there was not a multitasker to be found. The second revelation I had while I watched nothing happen for 20 minutes is that the "dine in" client is at a severe disadvantage. The effort, emphasis, and attention goes to the faceless "drive-thru" customer, who from my observation, was the top priority and received service in half the time. Why? Because the guy behind the wheel doesn't pay until he gets his food, and can choose to bolt the line at any time before. As opposed to me, the guy standing right in front of you and wondering where the heck his food is. I watched several others in the room as they contemplated asking for a refund, since their lunch hour was about up anyway. No one did; likely because the refund process would certainly have added yet another 20 minutes to the ordeal. Cut your losses and hold out for Brisket and Gouda....eventually. So where does this leave us? I wasn't able to solve any of the world's problems during my tenure at Arby's, but I did come to the conclusion that if I ever walk in and see 3 people in line and 3 people waiting for food that the restaurant is already at maximum capacity and minimum efficiency, so I should find another place to buy food. And I will keep all of my comments and suggestions about making it more efficient to myself, since this is apparently the way the owners choose to run (or not) their business. Oh-and I suppose I should comment on the sandwich, which was supposed to be a hot sandwich; OK, I can compromise, maybe warm? But it was cold, and old and dried, not "freshly prepared" as the wait would have suggested. But that was probably my fault, because if I had ordered fries the hot grease in the bag might have heated the sandwich.
