Uncle Bill’s Pancake & Dinner House Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Late night breakfast diner? Fresh to order made food, known for their pancakes and fried chicken. On paper that sounds great, unfortunately this is my 3rd time here and it has yet to impress. Pretty much a standard breakfast diner, nice and cozy with a good amount of seating. Mediocre pricing so pretty much just an average place to me. I've had their 4 D, waffle, pancake, and fried chicken here, and skillet. Nothing stands out, blows your mind awesome, but nothing is bad either. Good soft pancakes, waffle, etc. Load it up with butter maple syrup and its good. Fried chicken was made fresh to order; however, very bland without any special seasoning / taste. Not oily, but at the same time, not that crispy. I'll be here late at night when looking for some breakfast but that's about it for me.

Okay, so I know I put this in my one and done list, but I was forced to come here after some late night hockey and beer. This is probably the beer talking, but ho lee schitt, it was good that night. I got the country fried steak, hash browns and pancakes. It was amazing. Why only 3 stars? Because I'm sure if I went back sober it would be as good as my last visit of 2 stars. So I give it a 4 star drunk and 2 star sober review. Let's just average it for Yelp's sake at 3 right now.

Good food and service. You won't leave hungry because the portions are good sized. It's nice that they are open 24/7 and the full menu is served all day. So no matter what you're hungry for, you can get it anytime of the day. I highly recommend the fried chicken.

Not my typical pancake spot but this particular night Uncle Bill's was a winner for the late-night, date-night crave. Meridan was our server (the only server) and did an awesome job of handling orders, cashing customers out, brewing coffee, retrieving food from the kitchen to serve, tending to each table with TLC. I was impressed. The pancakes were fluffy and soft and hot and simply delicious. Uncle Bill's is an old St. Louis restaurant so no; the decor doesn't scream CB2 but the restaurant was clean and tidy. It was not cigarette smoke infested like the S. Kingshighway location either.

As much as UB's and I have maintained a good relationship through the years, from high school; coming up with hardly the money to cover the cost of my coffee, to my own time spent working there, to bringing friends here after I finish closing up the bar/restaurant where I work, now they have an overnight waitress who ruins my visits. Visits, meaning this is not the first time. The first time, her arguing about how she doubted that her mother ever worked here with me, I wrote it off and assumed she just was an overprotective daughter. Tonight she was snappy, rude and neglected ours and the one other table besides the middle of the night workman team who she was busy flirting and giggling with. The other table finally got to tell her after they had finished eating that half their food arrived lukewarm or cold. She was too busy chatting with these guys the entire time they were eating. Ever heard of a 2-minute check after delivery of food? Right now, I'm listening to her describe, across the dining room, fighting and getting drunk enough to be slurring. We finally got her name as we left. Meridian.

Solid place for breakfast. My go to meal is the spinach and cheese omelette with a side of pancakes. That's pretty much all I order here, besides coffee, which is good, but not great. The place is packed on weekend mornings, but the the line moves fairly quickly. Late at night you can usually breeze right in. The service tends to be all business, which is fine by me. Keep the drinks filled and the food served hot and I'm content.

Really enjoyed my breakfast here. Husband and I took Teen 1 here for a big breakfast. She had eggs, bacon, hash browns, and chocolate chip pancakes. Our waitress let me order from the geezer menu since I was not starving and most of their meals would feed a lumberjack. I had B & G with hash browns and one scrambled egg. I asked for the hash browns extra crispy. I ate the egg first, which was a rookie mistake because it was by far the worst thing on the plate and took up some valuable hash brown room in my stomach. Not inherently bad, but I like a hard scramble and it was still a little too wet for my taste. The hash browns came out exactly like i like them, and the B&G was delicious as well. Fluffy biscuits with a sausagy ( I know its not a word, but work with me here) gravy that was delicious. Its also important to note that Teen does not like powdered sugar and they dusted her pancakes in it. What this means is that Husband and I got to eat the top one. I took a bite just as a curiosity because I was already full...OMG!!! Those pancakes were SO delicious we were on that thing like piranhas on a cow until there was nothing left on the plate. And that was after they sat for awhile, because they were the last thing she got around to eating. Everything here was good, but if you like pancakes they are a must-try! No complaints about waiting or service that I saw in some of the other reviews. Our waitress was a pro!

Typical greasy spoon breakfast restaurant. Not gross, but not great. Staff looks like they've had some hard times in life including use with methamphetamines. Whoa! I think the only thing fresh in my omelet was the spinach as the mushrooms were def from a can. I feel this place isn't fancy or good enough to up charge every thing on the menu. What restaurant charges extra for hash browns with an omelet? I understand stand the "Ruth Chris" style of restaurants for breakfast as their clientele could afford, but not the Podunk style of this place with the melting pot of patrons I saw here. I'll pass on this one next time.

When Breakfast for Dinner beckons Uncle Bills makes the cut. Locally owned and operated. Family members usually handle the seating and checking out process. Expect Diner like wit and attitude from the staff. Open 24 Hours. This is a great late night dive. The crowd at night is amusing and makes for some good people watching. This greasy spoon has many memories for locals. The pancakes are big, eggs fluffy, and sausage better than most. I do not like their bacon- very thick. They are not the most accurate on special requests. The staff decorates the inside for Holiday's. Plenty of parking. Free Wi-Fi.

Despite the greasy feel of this place, they really do offer quite good comfort food. I've gotten pancakes, egg sandwiches, and chicken fingers, and they were all yummy in that perfect fattening way. Diner food has never been my favorite but whenever I'm in the mood for something heavy and comforting, I'll come here. Keep in mind this is a hot spot for drunks after 2 a.m. on weekends. The service here is also very good, and I'm impressed by their patience with some of the goofier, post 2 a.m. patrons.

Uncle Bill's....ahhh yes. Sean H. and I had some of our first dates here. How romantic, hahahaha. But seriously, we come here every now and then to uh enjoy some cheap-ish breakfast food and relive moments from the past. And to get full to the point of being sick. Hah. Epic bonus points for being across the road from Randall's Wines and Spirits. I wonder if that was secretly planned or something. Go to Randall's and get your booze and follow it up with pancakes...or vice-versa. O_o; I order the pecan pancakes and ask for buckwheat flour....the buckwheat cakes are a Pennsylvania down-home type of meal. Ahh yes. LET ME SHOW YOU THE FOOD OF MY PEOPLE. *ahem* SO fucking filling too, ugh. They brought me four pancakes! 4!! I was about ready to explode. Their hashbrowns are addictive. We had a hilarious waitress. She was nice though. But silly. She freaked out when she brought us the wrong peoples' food. I was like "it's OK! it's really OK!" But she kept freaking out. Someone hit the nail on the head with the geriatrics comment. I also love how they have their wi-fi password posted on damn near every wall and it's a string of really random numbers. I guess wi-fi leeching is an issue for them, or was in the past. Man. It's hard for me to not love this place for the memories and, uh, "ambiance" if you wanna call it that. Haha.

Really good bacon. Lady that greeted us was rude. Server wasn't friendly and messed up my order. I get that it's an older diner but it's dirty. Nothing special at all.

We have been here a few times before and it's always mediocre. However, after today we will most likely not be going back. We visited around 11:30am. The waitress just pointed us to a table and then followed it with, 'we're slow and I'm just trying to get tables.' Then we hardly had two minutes to look at the menu before she came back wanting to take our order. She did this three more times at least which was very annoying. We ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage; pancakes with side of bacon; and cheese sticks. The biscuits tasted as if they had been reheated in the microwave. The pancakes were of a rubber consistency. We had to ask twice for the syrup. The marinara sauce served with the cheese sticks was cold. The cheese sticks were frozen. After our food was brought to us we never saw our waitress again except for when she brought the check. Side notes about the cleanliness of the restaurant itself: the bathroom is old and dated. It was also filthy. Toilet paper all over the floor and there was a hair ball on the counter of the sink. The bus people don't seem to care that they spill drinks/ food everywhere.

I must have forgotten Uncle Bills (Kingshighway) is really at its best after 2am when anything could happen. The food is even better at that time. When I visited again recently I got to experience their food during the daylight and completely sober. What I found was OK food at OK prices with OK service. The place feels as dirty as the previously mentioned location and the apathy of the workers is consistent as well. If you want to be underwhelmed but full, go here. :-)

If I could give this place 1 star I would. I can't even review the food because we never got any. We went here one night, there were 4 of us, and a baby. And I was pregnant. (okay, never keep a pregnant woman waiting for her food) The "manager" i assume, seated us, and there was one waitress. It wasn't that busy. About 10 minutes later the manager finally came over to us and asked if we wanted drinks. So finally we got some drinks. The stupid waitress NEVER even ONCE looked at us. It's almost as if she pretended that we weren't there! No one helped us, we were being completely ignored, so we walked out without paying for drinks. I've NEVER EVER done that, or experienced something like that. And based on other reviews here, "owner" (if you're reading) you may want to ditch the old witch who rings people out and seats them. Your business does not have a good reputation.

Great food all day, but unfortunately the service varies from shift to shift. Mornings have the best wait staff while downtimes have faster service but of a lower quality. Absolutely love the country fried steak, pancakes, and corned beef hash.

This is my favorite place to have breakfast period. The food is great and filling and prices are definitely reasonable. Our family has a tradition to go there on Christmas Day before going home to open gifts. The staff is kind and helpful. Upon reading some of the people who have commented, you can't please everyone and people aren't perfect. That said, I have had some bad waits, I just make sure when I go BACK, I suggest not having that same person. Again, let me emphasize the filling aspect. I am 6-1 and 290 and when I leave from getting an "Eggs And..." I am good for a long while! About the decor issue. How many times have you went to a reeeeeeally nice place and had average or bad food/service? As long as it is clean and comfortable, I'm good. I don't need captivating interior design. Lastly, on the weekends, sometimes the lines are long but you aren't in line for that long of a time and if you have older folks with you, they have a long, cushy place for them to take a load off of their feet. Before you know it, you are seated, a water and paper menu is in front of you and after that, time to eat!

Food was only so so, I was hoping for better, the mashed potatoes tasted instant, cod was chewy, vegetables were bland

what happened to uncle bills? i have lots of memories from both locations. excellent breakfast food and pretty good everything else. went on a Thurs night and had the most disappointing meal i can remember. Chicken fried chicken steak that was dry and probably frozen, Girlfriend had the chicken fried steak, same thing. the gravy was watery and tasteless except for the overdoing of pepper, I guess to try to hide how runny and bland it was. must have come from a jar and microwaved. had zero refills on my coffee and water. fries were good. should have ordered a plate of fries and ask for a water pitcher. Thursday night, place was empty. no excuse, first time i ever lowered a tip. i fell in love with my girl here, really bummed out. what happened? The only reason i didn't give it one star is I'm hoping this was a fluke.

24 hours a day the geriatric waitresses quickly satisfy the hungers of all kinds of clientele. I've been caught here early on a Sunday morning after a night of many libations. The mix of late night party-goers and early morning church-goers is somewhat humorous. Uncle bills does breakfast a little better than the fast food joints... but not much. It's still greasy, low-quality stuff. For me it's perfect after a night of car bombs and kamikazies, but my parents like to go here for lunch... sober... and sometimes drag me with them... and the food doesn't taste nearly as good. Service is rigid, yet prompt. The place is huge. Even when there is a line out the door, you'll be seated in less than 10 minutes. They probably have over 50 tables in the place.

  • Robert M.

I thought the service was great, and the food was great too. The hashbrowns are the best I've had anywhere. You must try. I noticed the hostesses were very diligent trying to help return to its owner a found item. Classy! The only thing that I'm marking down for is the toilets. They were overflowing because they looked to me like they were basic residential, low-flow toilets. A place that large serving that much heavy food needs a heavy-duty toilet.

I could sit here and wax poetic about Uncle Bill's. It is one of our fabulous dive-diners in town, and I haven't really ever had a bad night there (yes, I account this to good friends as much as to the restaurant). Food: Above average for diner food, but it is really just your staple "eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, etc." They have tons of variety. Their fried chicken is excellent and made from scratch. Their pancakes rock my face and when I tell them "BRING ME CRISPY HASHBROWNS," they actually bring me crispy hashbrowns. And they don't screw up the coffee between the pot and the table. Service: Excellent. The staff is friendly (granted, I'm a regular), and they get you what you need. The coffee is always fresh and if something is screwed up, they don't mind redoing it. Ambiance: It feels like something out of 1960. Like my grandmother's tea room, I suppose. Old carpet, but clean and calm. The price is really reasonable for the food you get (I'm not sure I've ever ordered something over $10. In fact, I'm not sure you CAN order something over $10.) It is a place that you can sit and read and be left alone, talk to the staff, hang out with friends, or play cards (their are even card games that are a regular deal there, if you're so inclined to knock elbows with the older folks). In response to Jill - You are aware you are supposed to pay your tab at the counter, right? *hugs* for my favorite diner in town.

Ok, would this review be totally irrelevant due to the fact that I'm not much of a pancake eater? So, yes, I didn't order pancakes BUT I DID order some other breakfast must haves. Poached eggs, turkey sausage, cup of fruit. Yeah, you're right... this review is useless, but not totally! If it helps, I came on a Sunday (I'm one of THOSE post church breakfast eaters) and stood in a line that went out the door. There I thought to myself, damn this place must be freaking awesome. And I got seated within 15 minutes? Even better! Staff is nice despite how crazy busy it was. Looking for healthy alternatives? Good luck. Second time I came, I was invited for lunch here (but I'm guessing it must have been for my entertaining company) and I ate like a bird. So this place isn't quite for me, but it might be for you?

Of all times to go to UB's I went on Christmas. Yes I am somewhat embarrassed by this sin of sins. When I went there I ordered the 2x2x2x2. 2 pieces of bacon, 2 sausages, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast or pancakes and the ever present side of hash browns. Egg, sausage, bacon, toast all cooked to perfection. In fact the bacon they serve is some of the best I have ever had and that my friends goes back 60 years. Service was fast coffee stayed full and water was always topped off. I think the bill for 4 people was pretty cheap. I do know I left a huge tip because of the Christmas guilt thing. Since I have mentioned this on another review I usually go to a different place for Sunday breakfast after mass thing, So I have been here over the years maybe 3 to 4 times. Been good every time

Who doesn't like breakfast for dinner? A nice stack of pancakes with butter and syrup. Is there anything more nutritious? They still have a smoking section. Make sure you're not sitting in the back unless you want to smell the smoke from the non-separated smoking section.

Pros: Excellent Breakfast Cons: Outdated Time of Meal: Weekday around 8am. Staff: Friendly and prompt. We never had to ask for anything. Everything was delivered timely and all of the right questions were asked. Food Quality: Exceptional. The bacon is very thick and cooked just perfectly. Not many breakfast establishments can boast this. The pancakes had a taste of butter like your grandma would have if she made them for you. Hashbrowns and sausage links were the worst part of it. They were average. Decor: Awful. If you are thinking that this is a nostalgic diner, you are wrong. The place is just plain out of date. That wouldn't be so bad except it just gives you a feeling of dirtiness.

I have eaten hear many times. I can't say that I have ever eaten lunch or dinner here, just breakfast. I've had several breakfast meetings and the food is always consistant. The wait staff is always consistant and the place always looks like it was built way before I was born. It is in desperate need of updating, but it's uncle bills, so it is what it is. I always tend to order the waffles or the corn beef hash. (I don't think I have ever ordered hash anywhere else, just here) I am a pancake fan, but there is something about their pancakes that doesn't hit my taste buds the same, which is why I end up with the waffles. Regardless if you are going in the morning, or still buzzed from the late night, it's a consistant breakfast that hits the spot.

I love having breakfast at Uncle Bill's! I've never had anything but breakfast food, so I can't comment on the rest of the menu. I always get something with pancakes because their pancakes are delicious. They practically melt in your mouth! The bacon is a thick-cut style and not undercooked, which is great because flimsy, undercooked bacon is a pet peeve of mine. The hot chocolate is good, too, and they top it with homemade whipped cream! The servers are always friendly and attentive. The decor isn't the best, but I'm not there to eat pretty. I just want some good food at a reasonable price, and this place fits the bill.

Uncle Bill's is an a diner institution. On both of my visits I ordered the same thing: Belgium waffle with fried chicken. It takes 25 minutes because the chicken is freshly fried, but it is worth the wait, if you ask me. The portions are large (I eat half for breakfast and half for lunch), they are generous with the coffee, and the service is friendly and attentive. When we have visited, we went with our grandfather-in-law and the staff was well versed in dealing with a walker and getting us a table that works well for us. Uncle Bill's has become a go-to place for breakfast in Saint Louis.

I honestly will not eat here again. I have been 3 times. The first experience was ok, second was terrible and I gave it a third try thinking maybe I just caught them on a bad day. The server Lee is very rude and the service is slow. I generally tip 20 - 30 %, rarely do I ever not tip. I got better treatment from the bus staff then the server. I will not be back again. I rate this as terrible based on the service quality.

I really want to like this diner, but I wasn't all that impressed with the food at Uncle Bill's. I also thought the place was a little grimy, even for a divey place. The service was great though--very helpful and friendly.

Used to be you couldn't go wrong here. My how times have changed. There are basically 2 faces to this place now. When it's really busy (Mother's day, Sunday church crowd, etc.) it's still pretty good but you're going to wait a while to be seated. When it's not, well, let's just say it's a far different experience and not in a good way. I don't know if it's who they staff in the kitchen and on the floor during slower hours now, but in both areas my experience has simply been one of extreme disappointment. After 3 attempts of offering them redemption I've given up. I miss my old Uncle Bill's terribly.

Here is how it has gone the last three times we have eaten here: 1. get seated 2. wait 3. wait 4. order 5. wait 6. wait 7. wait 8. wait 9 take a nap 10. wait 11. take in jeans from weight lost since walking through door 12. wait 13. wait 14. eat 15. receive check 16. wait 17. wait 18. pay bill 19. stumble out the door (due to atrophied muscles and eyes unused to bright sunlight) unsure what the date is What gives? I mean it has been ridiculous. It *seems* like there is an appropriate amount of staff. But the wait is crazy. Each of the last three times we have gone we have heard the tables around us complaining too. I think this last time WAS the last time. It just isn't getting better. Shame, too, since the banana pancakes were so darned good.

Iconic restaurant. I have been eating at Uncle Bill's for over 30 years. Consistent quality food and good service. The decor is dated, but for me that is part of the charm. I have only ever eaten breakfast here so I cannot speak to lunch or dinner. I have always left sated and happy.

  • Jacqui C.

My guy was craving "breakfast for dinner" and some how, we ended up here. Since I wasn't craving breakfast for dinner, I got the grilled chicken salad with the honey mustard dressing. The good news is that they served the dressing on the side, so not too much or too little. My guy got the steak and eggs and also pancakes. He said the steak was not very good (yes, I realize we were at Uncle Bill's and this review is for UB standards, not Tony's). The hashbrowns that came with the steak and eggs were way undercooked. The pancakes were decent, but it is really hard to mess up pancakes, don't ya think? They are served with whipped butter and actually smelled so good that I had to try 'em. Not bad, at all! This place really needs a facelift on the inside and out, but then again maybe the original decor from the 1960's is part of the charm and makes Uncle Bill's the memorable experience that it is today. On the way out, I noticed they had a couple magazines, so I picked up a Ladue News (did not expect to find this here) and also Feast. I had never read Feast before and now have a few new places to try. So the trip to Uncle Bill's will lead to more Yelping :)

First time there is was so busy that our waitress couldn't keep up. We had to ask her several times for our drinks and food then again for our tickets. Our food looked like it had been sitting for a while when it arrived. Overall, the food was good but the service was horrible. I probably wouldn't go back unless it wasn't busy. I did like how you just waited in line for them to seat you. The wait seemed to go by fast.

Ahh Uncle Bills, my favorite dive diner. If you've never been think of it like a mid 80's truck stop diner. Kinda has that dirty out of date feel to it. Never fear, it's only mildly dirty. Open 24 hrs a day, can't beat that. Great place to come after the bar or in my case after a late shift at work. Breakfast is the staple here, don't stray from it. Biscuits and gravy are somehow always killer. Omelets are packed full of cheese and goodness. Skillets are always great. But where the goodness lays is in the Supreme 2x2x2x2. Eggs, Hash browns, Sausage, Bacon, and pancakes. Hello arteries, yeah I'm clogging you now. Bacon is always thick cut and cooked to bacon goodness. Pancakes are light and fluffy. There are downfalls here though. Staffing especially mid day on the weekends is real bad. In fact I've gotten free food cause of it. Nothing screams fun like waiting around for 20 mins to get an order in. Typically if you go after the bar on the weekend you will wait around a bit. Plus side, great for people watching. It's like dinner and a show. Bottom line, why go to Denny's or Ihop when ya have Uncle Bills.

As greasy-spoons go, it's greasy. Not too greasy, but greasy. Service is nice, food is adequate, particularly for breakfast. Don't try and order an egg white omelet. Egg Beaters is the only low cholesterol option.

everything is good. steak fried, pork chops, pot roast, home fries(hope they'd add sauteed onions with home fries) eggs, chicken omlette etc etc everything is good. aweosme amount of food for low price. usually bring leftovers ... exclusively every weekend I'm there. good home cooking that's all it matters

every once in awhile, i want some fried eggs.... uncle bill's is a stl tradition ... it's not a 5-star restaurant.... just comfort food of a certain kind... ...eggs are a bit greasy. big, thick slices of smoky bacon. decaf. oj. it comes with hash browns. i only eat the crispy parts. you can get biscuits, or pancakes with that. $10.64 with tax. they also have good fried chicken. it takes a bit longer, because they cook it when it's ordered. nicely seasoned. not too greasy. .... and pies - if you're a pie lover. this place is usually very busy at meal times. ask for one of Galina's tables - she'll take great care of you. she has a wonderful russian accent. prices vary - in general they're very reasonable. there's also an uncle bill's at 3427 S. Kingshighway. the original one.

We stopped by here just after midnight and the place was not busy. The first thing that the rude ugly woman said who seated us with an attitude was "What do you want!" The food was not that great, ordinary and forgettable. Our waitress just about average. After eating I went back to the same rude woman to pay our bill. She said "You wanna write your tip? $4 is 20%". After the rudeness, food quality and service you would impose 20%!!! Never again would come back to this s@¡hole!

It's not the best food but its so fun to go with a group of friend and chow down. It is extremely inexpensive and nice after a long night out. The service is just ok but it's such a relaxing atmosphere it doesn't bother me too much. Most of the time my bill is under $10 and I'm full so I'm happy.

I just love breakfast, and I know that Uncle Bill's is a St. Louis classic, but I'm just not sold on it. The decor is really tired and the food is ok, but nothing special. I joined some friends for breakfast on Monday at Uncle Bills. I ordered a Pecan Belgium Waffle and it was ok, but if I'm going to go to a place like this, I think IHop is a lot better. One thing that bugged me was that the waffles came with 1 slice of bacon and 1 sausage link. Or you could get 2 slices of bacon for an additional 79 cents. But a full order of sausage a la carte was only 20 cents cheaper than a full order of bacon ($2.79 vs $2.59). And when I dropped the meat entirely, they took off $1.00. If my extra slice of bacon is worth 79 cents MORE than the sausage link that was included, then how come a full order is only 20 cents diff. Something just doesn't add up here. I don't mind paying fair prices, but this really bugged me.

If you're looking for a family-friendly and affordable breakfast spot, this is a nice option. Sometimes there appears to be a long wait, they move it pretty quickly. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the food is good as well. While I haven't tried their non-breakfast options, I've heard they are decent.

The food is good. Greasy breakfast food at it's finest, and the pancakes are the best. Had a bad experience with service. Couldn't find our server or get anyone's attention to refill our coffee. Our server finally surfaces with our food and when I asked for a refill on coffee she rudely said she would get to it after. She never checked back on us and we had to flag down the bus boy because we were missing part of our order. He went and got her, she went in the kitchen and grabbed our missing item, brought it out and said "I was waiting on gravy." No apology, but plenty of attitude. We were already half way done eating at that point, I just can't imagine gravy taking that long ever. And if it was true, she could have told us when she brought the rest of the food that it would be a few more minutes on the rest, but she didn't. Never saw her again until she dropped our checks and walked away. I wanted to have another cup of coffee and a sip of water but I didn't want to have to flag someone else down to ask for a refill and burden them any further.

Good local place which is a decent alternative to OHOP (not IHOP - those places are just slightly upgraded Denny's) and open 24-hours a day. I'm pretty sure that my late-night drunken breakfast days are behind me but this place would be a pretty good option if one of those happens along again. It was lunch time when we arrived and I was no longer in the mood for breakfast so I went after a BLT & fries. It was good but nothing special. I had some serious food envy working when the couple at the table next to us received their food. The woman's fried chicken looked like exactly what I should have ordered. Oh well. Kid 1 ordered some mega combo that included one of everything...which she couldn't finish. I had already abandoned my fries in hopes of getting one of the three chocolate chip pancakes (they were a substitution item) she had in front of her. She hates powdered sugar so i was offered the one on top. It had been on the table for about 15-20 minutes at that point but it was still very good. My suspicion is that it was flat-out amazing when originally served. Even cold and neglected, it was still the best thing I ate there. Next time around, I'm either ordering breakfast or fried chicken. Maybe even chicken & waffles if it is on their menu.

The fried chicken was exceptional...worth the wait. Not too greasy, not over-battered, crispy, seasoned well, and juicy. It really was nice! For sides, I had the mashed potatoes with white gravy (not exciting...gravy really basic, our of a mix, bland) and coleslaw (way too much salad dressing!) The fries looked like a better choice. I wish I had had room for dessert. The pies looked good...and there were several sugar-free choices among them.

My family and I have been coming here for over 20 years. Their food is excellent diner food, if you are expecting anything else then you will likely be disappointed. The service can be a tad slow at peak hours but is usually well worth the wait.

I had some time before work and was hungry so I decided to give Uncle Bills a try. I was immediately seated by a very friendly waitresses. My drink was brought immediately and I placed my order for the Breaded Center Cut Pork Chops with 2 scrambled eggs, hash browns, and 3 pancakes. That was all a single meal. The food was cooked and brought quickly and I was in for the treat of what was honestly the best pork chops I have had in a long time. The bread ding was perfect, the meat was tender and moist, everything was amazing. All in all I was very impressed and I will be going back soon.

The bacon and pancakes were outstanding. My wife said the chicken was her favorite. The sausage was a little dry and the service was pretty average but I'm sure I'm going to go back when I am in the neighborhood.

Been sitting here for a half hour, no one has even asked if we wanted something besides water. Horrible service.

Great breakfasts. The fruit cup is the best anywhere; it's not full of melon like most places. Fresh grapefruit, oranges, pineapple and grapes. Love the pancakes and nice thick cut bacon. The waitresses are hit or miss but overall very good.

I had some time to kill in west county waiting for an appointment so I stopped in for some breakfast. Once I was seated I sat looking at five dirty tables for about 10 minutes before I asked if anyone was taking care of the room I was in. At this point the server loudly exclaimed that she asked not to be seated again. I grabbed my stuff and left. If this is how important I am as a guest I'll take my money elsewhere.

Best way to sum it up, over priced dive. Stopped for Sunday dinner, they were not busy and the floor was filthy. Sunday fried chicken special (only a $1 off regular price) was horrible, over cooked and chewy. If it was chicken, it was a small one. Ice tea was nasty tasting. Too many good places to eat in this area to waste your money at this dump.

Great Chicken Fries Chicken this morning. Breakfast with the family for Father's Day. This is the only Bill's & we like it very much.

Hit or miss, depending on your server. Food is okay, some things are shortcutted (biscuits, for example, came straight from a microwave), and service can be slow and inattentive.

Horrible service...the waitress didnt wanna remove our dirty dishes or refil our drinks because she was too busy flirting with guys that were here working on the floor. She even refused to take our money from us...she was a lazy jerk...dont have Meridian as a waitress...unless you want horrible service.

This place is basically a nicer version of Perkins, which is basically a better version of Denny's. The customer service was exceptional. Everyone was friendly and inviting. Service was speedy and efficient. Prices were reasonable and portion sizes were HUGE. I ordered the pecan pancakes and loved them. Fairly light and fluffy and soaked up the syrup just the way I like. My bf ordered the omelette. It was massive! The omelette alone could feed two grown men. It also came with hash browns and a stack of pancakes. Wowsa! He enjoyed it, but needless to say a lot was left on the plate. He just couldn't eat it all. This place is really solid especially if you are in the area and looking for an inexpensive yet filling meal. It's also cool that it is open 24 hrs.

prices are awesome, especially for a 24-hour privately owned diner. I grew up coming here regularly, and while I do miss some older items the menu is still pretty comprehensive. the omelets are NOT very good (never were), but otherwise all of the other menu items are great quality/quantity for the price. and you know there's tons of character when reviews are mostly 1's and 5's :) always recommended.

(3/6/15) Currently sitting here with a group of 4 at uncle bills and its been 40 minutes for my waitress to take my order...got here at 9:30pm and its 10:10pm. They are seriously understaffed but the busboy has been helpful in the meantime. The waitress has apologized for the wait....

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. The servers are always nice the food is always fresh and the price is great. If you never done uncle bills you need to do it.

Most of the time I come here no matter what time I get breakfast. Cornbeef hash is my go to with hash brown scrabble eggs and pancakes. Cover it with ketchup and where set expected for the pancakes that would be gross.

Good old fashioned breakfast food. This style of restaurants is one of my favorites to find, but I wasn't really impressed by this place. My standard is the Original Pancake House (high standard, I know), but this place didn't come close. Pancakes were ok. Coffee was ok. Nothing was bad though, just nothing great.

One of my go to breakfast places. It is walking distance from where I live and has really good comfort food. Can't go wrong with the 4-D, biscuits & gravy, French toast, or chicken & waffles.

If you are looking to stuff your face with some good old country style breakfast, than this is the place for you! Their pancakes are absolutely amazing. I'm pretty sure this is because they make them with more butter than should be allowed, but it sure is tasty if you let yourself forget about calories. I also like the feel of this place. It's very old fashioned diner type where the waitresses are running around like crazy, and the coffee is extra black. Be prepared to wait if you get there after 9:00 on the weekend though. I've also heard the other location is better.

West Co's 24/7 breakfast/drunk @3am place. The only reason I go here is because it's 30 sec from my ex-bf's place. This is always where we go the "morning after". Some FWB couples smoke a cig, we get pancakes. It's legit. I do like the atmosphere. It's clean. It's a "down home cookin'" looking sort of place. It kind of looks like some of the places you'd find out in Colorado. Lodge looking, ya know? I like it. The waitresses are pretty meh. Hit or miss. There's one waitress I ADORE who has to be like, 70, and she dyes her hair blond and wears big obnoxious pink bows but she is sweet as cherry pie and incredibly quick and efficient. And actually seems to care about her customers. A couple others aren't bad. The rest couldn't give two craps about you. They have attitude. Look tired and can't be arsed to be there. Ex-bf explained it best: "I think the waitresses here are in a prison work program." Yeah...looking around I could totally see some of these chicks having spent time in the slammer, and this is their first job since entering the halfway house. You really have to be there to know what I'm talking about. You'd be able to pick them out. But who knows. All I know is that service is typically slow and apathetic for us. Eh. Food is pretty good, but I've only really ever gotten pancakes, and my biggest gripe is that they only have maple syrup. So if you get the strawberry pancakes, there is some strawberry glaze on it, so that's okay. But my apple pancakes this morning were full of apple chunks but not enough glaze, and I wasn't about to taint them with the wrong flavored syrup, so they were kinda dry. Hate to say it, Uncle Bills, but take a hint from IHOP. If you're gonna have multiple flavored pancakes, follow through with the syrup. Jus' sayin'. If you're out in West Co and craving breakfast food at an odd hour and don't want to go somewhere commercial, go here (There is also one 2 minutes from me, but I've only been there once. The Kingshighway one actually doesn't seem to have as much on its menu. But it's fine. Gets the job done. Maybe I have to start hosting the booty calls at my place so I can have an excuse to go to the KH one and write a review =])

I am not sure why I love this place so much. Maybe because everything is cooked in butter and I really like butter. The place is old, so are the people who work there ( I think our waitress was pushing 70) the service is pretty good. But I love the food!! Veggie omelet, extra crispy hash browns and pancakes ( with extra butter ) Also they are open 24 hours so you can have breakfast at any hour of the day.

The food is always good. Service is always top notch. Try the Uncle Bill's Skillet for a belly busting meal. Everything comes with pancakes and they are the best!!!!

It really sucks that so many Yelpers have had such horrible experience with the staff and hit or miss with the food. Me and the peeps thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast...maybe I just caught them on a good day lol We had this sweet old woman as our waitress and she was very polite and accomodating...maybe a little too much. She asked if we needed refills every single time she passed the table which is a lot when she was the only waitress in that entire section! But we chalked it up to her being a tad bit forgetful and choosing to be safer then sorry. The coffee was disgusting and the grapefruit juice tasted as if it was made with grapefruit that was past it's prime. The tea was pretty decent though and you can't go bad with water and lemon lol All of us ordered the 2x2x2x2 which is, you guessed it, 2 of everything. I had a double order of bacon, grits, scrambled eggs and buttermilk pancakes; all were on point except for the grits. I had to add salt and pepper to them and in my humble opinion, good grits needs nothing added. The setting is a little dated but I'm not one to nit pick about such things when my stomach is growling...as long as it's clean and neat, I'm good. There is of course some room for improvement but given the opportunity, I'd definitely make my way back!

I am glad I tired Uncle Bill's but I will not be going back anytime soon. Why is this place packed????? The line goes out the door and Its ridiculously busy. I can see the people who grew up coming here and bringing family and keeping a tradition so forth....BUT for people like me who have never been, that's a different story. We stopped here for breakfast at around 10a.m. Service was quick and easy. The coffee was good. The pancakes were delicious and fluffy and huge. Nice size for a complete meal but they were a side order so you should definitely come hungry here. My omelet was disappointing. It was a nice size omelet don't get me wrong but it lacked in flavor and it was over cooked. Omelets and eggs in general with the exception of fried eggs, should not be browned. Maybe this is just how they make there omelets, who knows. I was not a fan either way. They also used american krafts single cheese which is just......who uses kraft cheese to cook?????????? The decor was dated but that probably keeps things nostalgic here. If my business was booming I would not bother with the decor either. This pancake house was just okay. My pancakes were good but my actual meal lacked in flavor and preparation. At least i can say I tried this place now.

Since returning to Uncle Bill's a few more times things have only been getting better, with great staff and the food staying as tasty as ever. Plus, my complaints about service sometimes being slow no longer apply thanks to speedy customer care, therefore Uncle Bill's is a now a 5 out of 5 stars place for me!
