After reading the Yelp reviews, we decided this was the place to go. When we arrived, the seating was a bit slow. Once seated we decided that we must have been given the bad waiter. We waited for service, gave a drink order and then waited more. We rarely saw our waiter throughout the meal. On the up-side, the food was very good. Ample chip supply and a bowl of salsa as opposed to the small cup at most places. I would definitely go here again, but would hope for another waiter.

I've eaten Mexican/Hispanic food all over and this is the best I have ever eaten! Driving across the country with my wife this was a much needed oasis. Service leaves a little to be desired, but the food absolutely makes up the difference! A must try

The food was cold. 10.00 dollars down the drain. Do not waste your money here!!! If I could ? give 0 stars I would .

Wow. I had the fajita brava. My mind is blown. I used to be ok with 'Mexican' food. But this is the truth. Food is spectacular. Service is great. The restaurant is nice and welcoming.

My boyfriend and I both have backgrounds in journalism, and while we were both still working in the trenches of newspapers, the boyfriend ended up living in Worthington for a year, working for the local daily. We were three hours apart, but the best thing about my all-too-infrequent visits to Worthington was La Azteca. I seriously still fantasize about the thick, savory, perfect cheesy dipping sauce (that also comes drizzled over the delectable Fajita Nachos) and the margaritas the size of your head. Think slow-cooked pulled pork and herb-roasted chicken. Amazing. I love Azteca. Now that we both live in St. Paul, the boyfriend and I frequently ponder whether it's worth the three-hour drive to Worthington just to visit Azteca. We've decided it is. We're planning a trip back soon. If you're ever in the area, don't miss this incredible food. The service leaves something to be desired, but the food more than makes up for any deficiency in attentiveness.

I finally found a good place to eat in Worthington! The service was friendly, and this was some of the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. I travel here for work often and will be back to this place next time I'm in town.

Delicious! Fast service. All four of us really liked it. Rolled chicken quesadillas thumbs up. Chicken quesadilla fajita great. Seafood enchilada super . We will stop here on our way to other places in Minnesota again.

Very nice restaurant, very good food, very good service. We had the Mexican Burrito and the Grande Burrito. Margaritas were okay, but nothing special. We will be back for more!l

Stopped here while driving through Minnesota. Didn't appear to be much in Worthington, but this place is worth it. Authentic, extensive menu, very friendly and great service. We went on a Saturday and the restaurant was nearly full but our server was attentive and very friendly.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
