I don't normally write reviews online but this restaurant really deserves it. What a great place!!! You can feel it just by walking in the door that there was a lot of love put in to this space, the decor is beautiful and it has lots of character. The service was fantastic and the food was so delicious, I had the steak tartar and my husband had the burger, only in NY I had such a great dish! The owner is very friendly and is always present making sure everything is going well. I have been in the business I know how hard it takes to run a restaurant, but they are doing so great to be open only a month!!! Great job McCormick's, we can't wait to be back!

The EXCELLENT "chef" prepared food was a wonderfully pleasant surprise in this lively Irish pub atmosphere. A tiny jewel in Wayzata. It was a little loud for us, but the food more than compensated. Friendly waitstaff. For sure, we'll be back.

It seems like the latest food trend around Minneapolis is the Irish pub. Used to be the only place to experience pub food was to head downtown to the longtime stalwart, Brits Pub (still iconic-in fact I was just there for lunch a few days ago). Now pubs are popping up all over the area like dandelions in the spring. I find this odd as most of these pubs are striving to be as authentic as possible and England is NOT known for its great food! Like all the others, McCormick's menu features all the tradition English pub food including fish & chips and shepherds pie along with an assortment of burgers, chops and appetizers. I dined here on a midweek evening with a pal. Clearly they were benefiting from the location in affluent Wayzata and the limited dining options nearby as the place was packed with families, couples and business people. It felt a bit hectic the night we dined and the very small and close tables reinforce the intimacy of the place. While the food was good, my meal was not memorable.

Service is 4 stars- very attentive and well intentioned. Menu-4 stars, varied and wide enough to be very interesting and something for everyone..although there was no walleye on the menu!! which is a local staple. Atmosphere-4 stars since they remodeled and expanded, the new dining area is a huge improvement from before. SOLID PLACE

4 star service & food & ambiance - dined in pub area so be prepared for conversational noise. Asked for wine samples & loved the Chardonnay. Hard to decide what to order! Quaint place - will visit again.

The restaurant has expanded with more seating now. Dinners can get busy. They take reservations. Food is consistently very good.

Stopped by for a light dinner. Ordered the caprisi salad, and beef sliders. The salad came with bagged lettuce, and 2 small cherry tomatoes cut in half and the motsarella. This is the prime of tomato season, and they put 2 store bought cherry tomatoes on a $14 salad. We asked for more tomato, and 1/3 of an unripe tomato was thrown on top. We then noticed the salad had no olive oil, so we had to ask for that. The sliders were nothing special, but at least we did not have to ask to have them fixed. Left feeling like I would not want to go back anytime soon. Very poor value for the money spent.

I would say it's a high-end Irish restaurant/pub. We had late lunch / early dinner. Bacon burger for me with a delicious sauce. Grilled chicken w/garlic aioli and French onion soup for my wife. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and service excellent. We are outside on a dog friendly sidewalk area. The location's also terrific a block from the lake.

I've stopped my McCormick's a few times now and every time we leave excited to return. fish and chips and a cold drink with a lake view is hard to beat.

My cousin and I ate at McCormick's and we both had a great experience! First off, our waitress was awesome. She was super friendly and very attentive. We started off with a $30 bottle of champagne, which our waitress was great at coming around topping off our flutes to ensure that we were never wanting for more. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. It's cozy and inviting, but you can also tell the bar area can be a fun spot if you're looking to have some fun. We didn't order any appetizers, but I had the lobster roll as my main course. It was delicious! The bread was toasted to perfection (you can still tell that it was Texas Toast and not fresh bread though), but the lobster was definitely fresh. The thing that I loved most about it was that there was barely any mayo or sauce. The lobster was definitely the star of the dish which is why it was so great. My cousin had some sort of turkey sandwich (forgot what it was called) and she loved it. It was huge though so she couldn't finish it all. To top off the night, our waitress stopped by around 11PM to inform us that it was happy hour (yay! as we'd already finished our bottle of champagne) so we ordered a couple glasses of wine and just talked and laughed. Everything about this place from our experience was great. The food, the service, and the ambiance make this restaurant a must if you're in the area.

I enjoy this Irish pub and it's usually a busy spot in downtown Wayzata. They serve a proper pint (which goes with out saying for an Irish pub!) I like that the restaurant is bright and cheery. They expanded the size of the restaurant which made a huge difference. It's pretty loud tho... The food is good and as other yelpers mentioned it's not a large menu. Honestly, I usually pop in for a drink.

Excellent burgers and the Reuben was fantastic! I've been there a couple of times and the service was great too

Have gone 3 x for breakfast and service was great and Bloody Mary's were right on. Yesterday was a different story so it rates the two stars. Went late in the day for lunch and the Bloody Mary was blah and watered down and I wish I would of sent it back. Ordered the special on the happy hour menu - burger. It was gross and tasted like cheap hamburger meat. They also piled on greasy scraping from the grill - it was so unappealing and gross. I split that with my husband who ordered the veggie portabella sandwich. The portabella mushroom was cold and slimy and no flavor - just like the entire sandwich. No flavor in the tomato or the avocado and then served on a ciabatta bread. Both sandwiches were piled too high and a MESS to eat. My joy for this restaurant went to the back burner for sure. May return for breakfast but never again for anything else. I think they clearly order their produce from an industrial supplier - local and sustainable would be a great improvement. There clearly is NO flavor in industrial supplied produce. I was going to contact them before placing a review but there is NO email address on their site.

Pretty disappointed with the food. Had lunch with colleagues at this cosy joint. Good comfy decor. The roasted pepper soup was way too thick and pretty bland. I had the lobster roll which was decent without being remarkable in any way. A colleague had the Cod entree, which was soggy and tasted like cardboard. Even the desserts were just ok. Sorry, not recommended.

Limited menu, but everything is tasty. The Guinness /bass Black and Tan beer, cannot be beat. Nice breakfast menu too. The new addition was tastefully done and very cosy. Great addition to Wayzata scene.

At the grand re-opening & it was worth the wait. Same great service, same great pub atmosphere and now they have a restaurant section. Can't wait to try out the menu! Am sure it will measure up!

Must be tough to find good and decent service staff in Wayzata...hostess wasn't what we call "customer centric" at all, and the waitress was just plain dry and incompetent. The best part? Another waiter who came and took pictures for us! I don't think we'd come back there...the food was good though, I must give them that.

This is my second time here. First time had the burger. One of the best I have ever had. This time I had a corned beef sandwich and wild rice soup. They make their own corned beef. It was fantastic with ever bite. The wild rice soup was a broth base with a great smokey flavor. My girlfriend had the lobster roll. We had a great table right next to the fireplace. The prices were reasonable too.

My lady and I came here with 2 other couples for a Friday night dinner. Had heard good things about the burger so was excited to try it. First off, parking in DT Wayzata on a Friday night SUCKS. But I live in South Mpls so I am used to it, and not knocking the restaurant in any way. To start, the place is TINY. And it was jam-packed. Luckily we got a table kind of out of the way but they have a long drink table right in the middle of the bar that gets crowded and makes manuvering in the restaurant a chore. Our server was very personable, but a bit slow. I think the bar was slammed. We started with wings and brussel sprouts. Both were very tasty. I have really started to like brussel sprouts and here the mix them with blu cheese. Yummy in my tummy. The burger (with bun, no lo-carbing that night) was very good. Cooked to order, perfect Mid-rare. Ladies got small orders of pasta, which for the price did seem a little skimpy. Fries were good too. So why only 3 stars? This place is an IRISH pub. I think they try too hard to fancy-up the place because of where it is. $22 for a Shepards Pie? I think that is crazy. It also almost felt the service was trying to be too high-brow. There is no shame in being a comfortable, come-as-you-are Pub, this place has potential to be that (it is really pub-like on the inside) and I hope to see if they can be!

  • Leah H.

Very slow service. Food was decent. Front door was propped open causing it to get very hot and humid and also let the flys in. I won't be back.

Exactly what we wanted. Nice patio, good beer selection, solid apps (tenderloin sliders, flatbread). We'll come back.

    (5)
  • Katie H.

Excellent food and atmosphere. The bar side is very quaint and cute and the new addition is for a nicer night out. The truffle fries are delicious and their sliders are very good. Their Moscow mule is delicious and its served in the iconic copper mugs. A great place year round.

  • Coley M.

They get five cuz it was crappy weather and the patio was not open, but when we got there the sun came out. We asked to be outside and the wiped off tables and served us out there! It was great we drank got food, it sprinkled the kept checking if we wanted to come in but let us stay out. It started to down poor and the wind blew, so the umbrella wasn't so helpful, moved in and had a spot at the bar quickly! Will go again they treated us wonderfully!

Great local restaurant with incredible food. The burger is amazing and the corn beef is to die for. This is my wife and I Goto place.

From outside, one of those typical classy place in the neighborhood. What is very very nice is that it reminds me of 6pm in London. They have the same bar stand. Burger is also very juicy meat and comes with crispy homemade fries. I will want to try many others in menu with variety of nice beers (I love strong tasty tap beers). Will come back more often with colleagues for HH and lunch. Also for watch soccer games ! oh.. last but not least, each time I ended up chatting with nice people.

Great food and less hassle than the places down the street where everyone is trying to be a somebody....

  • David S.

Burgers and oysters were delicious. But bartender was snippy and rude. After we received the wrong drink, not only did she not apologize, but also she actually argued with us about it. How about offering to provide us with the right drink? Guess it didn't occur to her. After we were seated for dinner, and in middle of appetizers, same bartender delivered our bar tab to the table and requested payment. How about transferring the tab over to wait staff? Turns out that's really easy to do. Especially when burgers and a few beers leads to a $80 tab. Happy to find another venue in which to spend that.

Great spot to enjoy a few beers after work. Local ownership who genuinely cares. My favorite is the flatbread pizza and the burger.

I always try the fish and chips and this time I was blown away. The best fish and chips I've ever had. Fresh, never frozen cod and amazing fries. Our server was amazing too!!

So wonderfully good. We didn't know the restaurant, took a chance with a family of 6, and each had a great meal. Would definitely come back. Good service too. (We sat outside on a pleasant evening but checked out the inside which was beautiful.

My fiancé and I tried McCormick's for the first time tonight, and we will definitely be going back. The service was exceptional. Scott, our waiter, was fantastic. We started with the wings, which were uniquely seasoned and the meat fell right off the bone. I'll be ordering those on my next visit. For dinner we both had the Fish and Chips, which was a beer battered cod with fries. Being from Wisconsin I can say that I've had many fish fries, so my expectations were reasonable. While I'm not much of a cod fan, it was very fresh and about as good as it gets. The fries were perfect. We also had a really nice chocolate cake with cherries, which I didn't eat much of (had Guinness to drink) but enjoyed.

Went here this weekend during my training in Minnetonka. We had a group of about 14 and they graciously accommodated us on a short notice. It was a good choice since we were an eclectic bunch--some under 21, some vegetarian, lots of meat eaters, guys/gals, etc...we all found something that we liked. I was a piglet and devoured the burger and fries. And a Bell's beer. It was tasty! My dining neighbor had the beet/goat cheese flatbread and said it was the bomb. Looked pretty awesome. I really thought it was great that they provided two servers at our table. Service was swift and attentive. The location of the restaurant provided instant entertainment afterwards being right on Lake Minnetonka. Befriend the locals and you too can hang out on a boat while drinking chardonnay. True story.

I've eaten at McCormick's many times. The food and atmosphere are awesome - just like an authentic Irish pub. Tim and Patty are the warmest owners/hosts. The make the experience wonderful.

Tim & Paty run a really nice little establishment in Wayzata. While I was first introduced to this place as the go-to after work business networking spot in Wayzata, I always really only paid attention to the drinks and appetizers. About two months ago I sat down for dinner and couldn't believe how artful and delicious the food was. Over the next couple months I have tried several entrees on the menu and believe that this place should be known for its great food as much as it's fun social environment. By far my favorite is the Tenderloin and eggs breakfast that they serve during Saturday and Sunday brunch. It's sad that there's not more space as seating is very limited, but I've never had to wait when I've gone there, so it's not too bad. The staff is friendly and always welcoming.

  • Zach P.

My fiancé and I had pretty close to a perfect meal here. The owner was standing by the door welcoming people, and we got seated right away. I had the smoked brisket sandwich and she had the lobster roll. Both were fantastic. But the fries, oh the fries. For such a simple thing, few restaurants get them right. Mccormicks nails 'em though. They. Are. Perfect. The "midday menu" was small, but well planned. It had unique offerings for all kinds of tastes. And I suspect that everything on it was close to perfection. Coming across little places like this is what makes eating out one of our favorite pastimes.

I fell in love with McCormick's from the moment I walked in the door. An Irish pub that does the Irish proud and blends tradition with contemporary twists. Went for breakfast earlier today. Hours later I'm still savoring the roasted tomato, gruyere and spinach omelet and perfect hash browns. Can't wait to try the dinner menu!

Three of us had dinner there last evening. Thoroughly enjoyable! Server Tracy was great and the expanded menu gave us lots of choices . Lamb shank was delicious . Atmosphere outstanding. All this and yet very affordable.

  • Jane B.

Went for lunch today. Ordered the soup which actually sounded a little odd but was absolutely delicious . It was squash and curry and a little peanut with great spices and maybe roasted turkey. The best part was the flavor. Also ordered the blackened grouper sandwich. I ordered the aioli on the side but probably shouldn't have. It was excellent. Went there yesterday too (should tell you something). The Asian chicken salad was generous, delicious and I finished every bite. Light but filling. I highly recommend this restaurant. The owners are ever-present and passionate about wanting everyone's experience to be superb. Introduce yourself when you go in. I guarantee the next time they will know your name and welcome you with great appreciation. A very rare, personal dining experience. It's much more than food!

Food is great, but wow- want to know how to design crappy indoor acoustics? Check out McCormick's! Only about 20 tables and the place was louder than a tractor pull. It was so loud that our six year old daughter was very disturbed by it. Try to get a table outside if the weather is cooperating. Aside from the noise, the place is pretty good. We started with some oysters and the meat and cheese plate. All of it was great. I had the fish and chips for dinner, which was also very good. The price was reasonable for Wayzata, which is to say it's a bit expensive. Go 15 minutes west to McGarry's in Maple Plain and the food is every bit as good, though quite a bit cheaper. (McGarry's does not have the presentation, view or atmosphere of McCormick's though). My whole family was generally pleased with our experience, though next time we will leave the kids at home and bring some ear plugs (or drink enough that we forget to use our inside voices).

I was first introduced to this charming Irish pub by some locals. It's a smaller space but has a cozy atmosphere and is the perfect meeting place to get together with some friends over a cocktail or dinner. The menu's smaller but the food overall is good. The apple buttermilk salad (with chicken) was one of the best I've had. My husband had the fish and chips which was just "alright". They offer daily specials and a Sunday Signature burger deal that's too good to pass up (their signature burger, fries and a bottle of Bud for $10). Tables can fill up quickly so if you're coming here with any size of a group make a reservation ahead of time if you can. Because it's a smaller place my one complaint here is the noise level when it's crowed. .

  • Bill D.

We stopped in for a drink before going to the over priced steak house in downtown Wayzata. McCormick's was very busy. The food looked great and someone in our party ordered a lemon drop martini. She proclaimed it the best she has ever had. We went back on Sunday to try a bloody mary and it was about the worst. The bar doesn't stock pepper vodka and the mix was a tomato sludge. However, service was great and food again looked very good.

My wife and I brought a friend here from out of town on a Friday night for dinner without reservations. We had to wait a little while, which was expected, but we were able to get a round of drinks before being seated. This dining room is small with the bar in the middle near the door without much room to navigate. Makes it tricky to get around during the cooler months with bulky winter wear. They seem to be chasing the olde-timey Irish pub ambiance. They are doing it right! Our server was fantastic! When I inquired about the freshness of a couple beers they had on tap she informed me that yes, the Two Hearted was tapped just this morning. Score! Our food was plated very well and we were never rushed nor wondering where our order was. Food was very tasty. Plates were on the larger size but everything kept well enough for left overs. I'd love to stop in during the summer to enjoy the proximity to the lake. Shouldn't be too hard to find an excuse!

  • Pamela M.

I've been to Wayzata many times and I can't believe I have never been here! The space is small and the seating is limited, but I'm in love with the cozy Irish pub ambiance! Stop by for a drink or two and if the side tables are taken, be prepared to share a high top with others and strike up a friendly conversation over a pint! Sláinte!

I like this place...a lot, even if I've only been here for lunch. The vibe and layout is awesome It's a small, intimate place that is perfect for any kind of get together that's warm and inviting. I'm digging it. I had the brisket sandwich at lunch...and it was great. Perfect portions, with pickled jalapeños on the side that were the right amount of bite. The brisket was tender and delicious, the sauce was perfectly paired and the right amount. I had the side salad with it and the house dressing was good, I forget the name of it. It's a decent size salad too. 5-stars and I'll be back frequently. I wouldn't come here with a group of more than 4 given the small size. You might be waiting a bit. Parking can be tough, I'd opt for the garage behind it and hoof it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE their Veggie Sandwich!!!! Every time I go there, I get the same thing!!

  • Mark W.

Nice little place. The staff is pleasant and attentive. I have been there several times and have always had the same entree, the Signature Burger. It is a thing of beauty! I had it the first time I went and have refused to try anything else since. I have also split a salad that had apples and avocado that was very nice. It was fresh and cool without being heavy and laden with dressing. However, the best part about McCormick's food is the oysters. If you like good oysters, they usually have a selection of east and west coast oysters to sample from. (I was there for lunch last Saturday and they hadn't yet received their oysters for the day. But, they came in while I was eating and they got some ready for me for after my meal.) They also have live Irish folk music most Saturday afternoons.

Hands down one of the best restaurants not just in the western suburbs but in all of the twin cities. We've had nearly everything on the menu and everything is fantastic. Just like many of the other reviews mention - the burger is as good as it gets. The scallop sliders, salmon, fish and chips, salads, soups, etc. etc. I really can't name one thing we've had that we didn't love. I'm extremely picky when it comes to restaurants and people who know me call me a "foodie" since I try lots of restaurants and have pretty high standards. This place meets them and does not disappoint. If this place was in Minneapolis, it would be considered one of the best places in the cities no question.

Came here for breakfast. The steak and egg reviews were really impressive. Did not have the same experience. Little to no steak and very over well done when we requested medium rare. The waitress was great and made it right. The omelette was good and the toast was amazing. The pictures didn't match what was served.

Great Irish style bar. Seats about 50 people, and regardless of business, always feels full. I didn't eat dinner here but would highly recommend the Guiness.

After dinner at another Wayzata establishment, we wandered over to the newly-opened McCormick's Pub & Restaurant. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple drinks and watched some Twins baseball. The bar was hopping and the tables, both inside and out, were full. Our bartenders were friendly and quick with service. Having been in both of the previous restaurants to occupy the space, I have to say that I like what McCormick's did in terms of the interior renovation. It's cozy and casual, and fills a void in the Wayzata eating/drinking scene - Finally a pub! The seating is nice with quite a few tables outside and nice seating inside as well as at the bar. My husband appreciated that they have a solid selection of beers on tap. I appreciate that they serve prosecco by the glass and care enough to make sure that it is cold and not flat. I haven't tried the food yet, but the burgers that were going by looked darn tasty.

My family and I walked down to McCormicks last night, in theory just for a drink...and then we saw the menu. We ended up staying for dinner and it. was. fabulous. We started with the summer flat bread, with asparagus, arugula, parm and heaven on it. It was amazing. Then we had salads - my dad had the beet salad, which he loved. And I had the special salad, which was heirloom tomatoes, roasted corn, queso fresco and spinach pesto. It was literally the best - and most Minnesotan - salad I've ever had. I could have eaten a bucket of it. We wrapped up with the burger (wonderful) and the beef tenderloin (out of this world - the potatoes were creamy and heavenly. I honestly scraped the plate clean.) The service was fantastic (the chef even came out to say hello - so nice of him) and the prices weren't too bad (particularly for Wayzata). We sat outside on the patio with our puppy, whom they gave a bowl of water and were happy to have hang out. Five stars all the way - this place is a GREAT addition to Wayzata!

Probably one of my favorite restaurants Tim and Patty do such a great job at making you feel welcome! MAKE RESERVATIONS they are typically busy every Friday and Saturday night. The burger is to die for and good selection of Irish beers (you will not find a Bud or Coors Lt here). Try the Cheesecake it is AMAZING! Love the staff, Love the decor very good location. I hate trying to find places to park but the ramp is right next to place so no stress trying to find parking. HIGHLY recommend!

Great atmosphere. Sat outside with 4 of us. We each ordered a different entree. Food tasted good, but was way over overpriced for the amount of food you received. Great place to go to be seen, not a great place for a solid dinner. We all walked away hungry. I could do same thing with scallops at home. Dont spend anymore than the burger.

How oft we've said, 'We wish we had a place like this in Wayzata'... well, now we have in McCormick's Pub and restaurant. Cozy bar and handsome interior, complemented by a highly enthusiastic staff , good food and reasonable prices. Last evening on busy Boxing Day (Dec 26th) the place was jumping yet service from Anna was attentive and owner, Mr. McCormick sporting a crisp white kitchen apron was working the floor to expedite the food service and attend to special requests. It is the involvement of the owner that makes a place like McCormick tick, we'll be back.

I've been here with my husband at least thirty+ times since they opened and have never had a bad experience. Tim and his staff make you feel welcome and it's a cozy spot to relax and enjoy a beverage or a meal. The food is phenomenal and the chef's passion for ingredients and high quality dishes, simple or complex, always hits it out of the park. Tim truly cares about his beer selection, so keep an eye on the revolving taps and take advantage. If it seems busy, don't worry, a spot always opens up at the bar with a little patience. We love this place!

We had never been to McCormick's but decided to try it because it is dog friendly. The burger was AMAZING!!! The Farmhouse flatbread was FANTASTIC!!! The service could be considered slow, so if you are in a rush it might not be the place for you. It was perfect for us, since we were looking for a relaxing day outside with our dogs. They are extremely dog friendly, the dogs were never out of water. This will become a staple for us when looking for a great burger and a place to hang out with the dogs.

SOLID PLACE

The EXCELLENT "chef" prepared food was a wonderfully pleasant surprise in this lively Irish pub atmosphere. A tiny jewel in Wayzata. It was a little loud for us, but the food more than compensated. Friendly waitstaff. For sure, we'll be back.

Excellent food and atmosphere. The bar side is very quaint and cute and the new addition is for a nicer night out. The truffle fries are delicious and their sliders are very good. Their Moscow mule is delicious and its served in the iconic copper mugs. A great place year round.

Because it's a smaller place my one complaint here is the noise level when it's crowed. .

True story.

Excellent food and atmosphere. The bar side is very quaint and cute and the new addition is for a nicer night out. The truffle fries are delicious and their sliders are very good. Their Moscow mule is delicious and its served in the iconic copper mugs. A great place year round.

Because it's a smaller place my one complaint here is the noise level when it's crowed. .

True story.

I've been to Wayzata many times and I can't believe I have never been here! The space is small and the seating is limited, but I'm in love with the cozy Irish pub ambiance!

The EXCELLENT "chef" prepared food was a wonderfully pleasant surprise in this lively Irish pub atmosphere. A tiny jewel in Wayzata. It was a little loud for us, but the food more than compensated. Friendly waitstaff. For sure, we'll be back.
