We really love to write good reviews and honestly, prefer not to write negative ones at all. We simply don't return to that restaurant. We used to love this place when it first opened and probably ate there twice a month. It's near our home, clean and comfortable. Typically, we order a tandoori meal plus some sort of curry and share. But, the last two times we ate here, we are positive the tandoori chicken came straight from leftovers from the luncheon buffet. There was nothing to indicate that it was fresh out of the tandoor - not even a "sizzle" on the serving platter. I'm only writing this because we miss going there, and truth be told, do not want to embarrass the waitstaff telling them of our dilemma. HELP!

We showed up for their lunch buffet following all the good, and it turns out well earned, reviews on Yelp. They had a nice selection of both vegetarian and meat entrees. I stuck with the veggies. I thought the samosas were better than average especially with their green cilantro chutney. I had a nice plate of dal, potatoes with eggplant, chick peas, veg biryani, naan and finished off with some really good mango pudding. This was a really solid Indian meal.

Very good Indian lunch buffet, with a nice range of choices and fresh, tasty food. I especially enjoyed the veggie biryani, dal and chick peas today. Service is super friendly and efficient, and the surroundings are comfortable and welcoming.

I stopped in here for an early lunch last week. The place was nicely decorated. There was only one server that day, and he was walking/ running around manning all the tables (about 6-7 tables including me). I ordered mango lassi. It was quite good not too sweet. Then I ordered shrimp tandoori for my meal. It took quite a while for the food to come out, but it came out sizzling hot. The shrimps were huge. However, i dont think the dish was very flavorful. They also have lunch buffet, and other tables opted for that. I will give their lunch buffet a try.

Liked the food. It was very flavorful. Ambience was not great but that's typical of many Indian restaurants. Service was good too. I would recommend this for a quick stop. Nothing special about the menu or food. Standard Indian menu but the chicken tikka kebab was very unique and tender . Good find in the area.

Had the lamb curry, chicken briyani and naan. By far the best naan I've had in the Twin Cities. Curry and briyani were also delicious. Located in an older strip mall. Ambience is not the greatest, but I'd definitely go again.

Bukhara Indian Bistro catereed delicious samosa's with mint and curry sauces for our ClearCause Foundation 'Around the World Safely' inaugural event. Fabulous reviews. Professional and elegantly displayed. Our guests loved them so much we are showcasing Bukhara Indian Bistro at our 2013 Around the World Safely event at Woodhill Winery June 30.

****This review is from my trip in May '15. I sincerely hope things have changed now.**** Food: vegetarian is avg Service: ok Food delivery: quick Don't ever try to be there after 9PM. They are in a mighty hurry and rush you to: 1) order quickly (which is understandable) and 2) eat quickly and leave (which is not OK). Vegetarian Biryani was below average. I have eaten better Biryani in other places. Paneer Tikka Masala was good. Food came in no time which is the saving grace. One of the waiters (Bangladeshi dude) needs people skills. Or maybe he doesn't care abt pleasing Desis. Many restaurants aim to please only non-Desis and I wonder if these guys belong to the same category. I am not going back!

Was CRAVING a chicken tiki masala... omg... im kicking myself that this is less than 5 blocks from me and I haven't had it in years. I will be ordering weekly now! Food was amazing. Will order it spicier next time. I was a little chicken. My fault!! Sorry no pics! Ate it in bed while working on my son's senior scrapbook. Next time

What a nice meal we had here, I had the Palak Paneer and my sister had the Chicken curry. Wonderful service great food and reasonable prices. And it was a cute little place. Love it and thanks

This happen a couple of months ago. The worst service ever! I was told to hurry up and eat fast because it was 9:30 pm and it was almost time to close. The couple in front of us ask for dessert and were told this was not an American restaurant . When I complained to the manager that the waiters were being rude, they all laugh about it. Okay food nothing amazing about this place.

Best Indian food in the area! I spent time in northern and southern India and this authentic Indian food is definitely on par. Affordable & delicious. If I have a craving for Indian food this is my go-to restaurant. Had great service on each visit, even after 9 p.m. as it neared closing.

been here once with my family for a birthday celebration. i wasn't a fan of the food too much but my wife enjoyed it very much. we came on a saturday during their lunch buffet. my wife has been wanting to come back since. maybe one day i'll order off the menu instead of the lunch buffet.

Nice ambiance with beautiful Tiffany-style ceiling lamps. Varied menu with generous vegetarian options. Not a good place for kiddos, as they have no child-friendly menu. My suggestion to Bukhara: stash some Mac & Cheese in the kitchen for a backup plan.

Not the fresh, flavorful Indian food I have come to adore in the past 10-12 years. I made a meal out of naan because nothing else was visually appealing or tasty. However, the server could not have been kinder when I was attempting to wipe up the mess left by my shorties. He encouraged me to leave it as is & the staff would take care of it. Free buffet for small children (under 5) is unheard of & greatly appreciated.

Thanks to a Voice deal coupon I finally got my heiney in here. The samosas seemed a bit more "safe" than the ones from Curry N'Noodles in Hopkins, until the mint chutney was added to the top of them. That chutney really sold me on the samosas. The onion pakora were good, but I would have liked more onion flavor in them. We also got mushroom masala and lamb rogan josh, both ordered medium. Both could have stood to have more spice in them, I would have considered both of them to be very mild, but with good flavor. The rogan josh was much more creamy that any other place that I have had it. The mushroom dish would not have been harmed if the spice and flavor level had been higher. Next time I will let them know that I like the spice and to raise the bar. Bukhara will definitely be my fall back Indian place, if CNN doesn't work out for some reason.

A group of my co workers met here for dinner. It was in an interesting location and didn't look appealing from the outside. However it was unique on the inside. Old Indian restaurant decor. Interesting, but don't expect a new fancy interior. We were very pleased with the food. The vegetable samosas were the best I've had. And the Palak Paneer was creamy and flavorful. I had the Chicken Masala , which didn't have the same quality as the rest of the food. My co worker tried the Tandoori Lamb. From the look on my his face, he was very pleased.

There are many Indian restaurant options in the Twin Cities but Bukhara Indian Bistro is one of the great ones. My wife and I have had many of the curries and love the flavor and spice levels. The service has also been great every time. The naans aren't my favorite, though I've struggled to find great ones anywhere in the Twin Cities.

We've eaten here a few times. Generally, the food is delicious and service is prompt. Our favorite dishes here are the vegetable curry and shrimp kashmiri. The mango lassis are really good and so are the samosas.

Food is sweet and not enough spices in it. Chicken is not cooked well enough and not well seasoned. Been there for lunch buffet and not at all a good experience. But place is big, nice and clean. But not returning back any time soon.

Came here on a Friday afternoon for the lunch buffet. The service was fantastic, everyone was very helpful, quick to refill waters and take plates. It came out to be a little over $11 for the lunch, plus tip. Plenty of space in the dining area, so they can accommodate groups and kids. I thought the food was okay - they do have a lot of vegetarian options, which sets it apart from other Indian restaurants. The vegetarian options were also pretty tasty, including their saag paneer and this tofu tomato dish. They had about 5-8 vegetarian dishes available, not including the desserts and salads. For meats, they had chicken makhani, beef curry, tandoori chicken, and a couple other chicken dishes. These dishes were less impressive - the chicken makhani and beef curry were both good, but the rest were pretty dry and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. For dessert, they had rice pudding, mango pudding with cocktail fruit mixed in, and the minced carrot dessert, all of which tasted pretty standard. I would say this food was good but it wasn't as authentic or as spicy as I was expecting. They don't rush you at all though so it's a great place to catch up with friends and it doesn't seem to get super busy.

We came on a Saturday around noon. This place got great reviews through the IHG Dining Club so I had my hopes up pretty high. We were disappointed. Not only was most of the food crusty on top from sitting there, cold in the steam tables, but the flavor just wasn't there. This bland affront to Indian cuisine was hardly palatable. Frozen naan, halua that was 99% mushed carrot string... just not that good. Steer clear, I've had much better even in the Twin Cities.

Excellent service, food and ambiance. It is a go for Indian food unpretentious, and oh so good. Noticed the other reviews also commented on the decor. It is very pleasant. Service is over the top great. Example we kind of muttered we needed more ice and there it was a very large glass of ice with a long handled spoon. The wine is very good house red is exceptional, and the pour is very generous. Naan is great, where ever they get it is terrific. (Scallion Naan is over the top)

Their food is really really good and spicy means spicy. The location is in a small strip mall off highway 12. Its not going to wow you from the outside. The inside is nice though. Not very busy but it was a Monday night. Thats surprising given how good the food was. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and I would definitely get it again. I asked for it spicy and it was actually spicy unlike a lot of places in MN. I like it hot and it was definitely that and I loved it. Great curry flavor too. The garlic naan and house sauces were great additions. The chicken tandoori came out on a sizzling platter and was also really good. Ill be back very soon.

Be aware that weekday lunch is buffet only, not full menu. That didn't bother me as I intended to try the buffet anyway. The buffet selection was excellent and included beef curry, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, matar paneer, chana masala, chicken vindaloo, mango pudding, and pistachio rice pudding. There were many other vegetable dishes, salad, and of course a few types of rice, but I stuck to the proteins mainly. All tasted fresh and was well flavored. The server also brings naan bread to your table. All of this for $9.50! A great value given the food quality and selection. I intend to return again for lunch, and perhaps for dinner to try out some of the lamb dishes. Overall, an experience with nothing to complain about.

So after the disaster last night at Paradise Biryani Pointe, my husband bought this groupon deal (pay $15 and get $30 worth) and we went for lunch today and boy was I happy to have lunch here.. I was contemplating between a 3 or 4 star and settled with 3. For the price paid its good food, good quality. Lunch buffet is 10.99 per head and there were quite a few items - in veg there was a Paneer pakoda (bland, not good), mushroom spinach (was mild but flavourful), paneer curry (decent), dal (very mild but good), Sweet Potato curry (was good, right spices used), lady finger curry (the best of all, perfectly made), veg biryani(quite good) and Aloo tikki and Chole chat (potato chick pea - was pleasantly surprised to find this and it was perfectly made, was exactly how it is made in north India, chat made my day). Coming to Desserts (mostly disappointing) there was carrot halwa (bland), ras malai (below average), rice pudding (average), fruit custard ( was better than the rest). I ordered Naan on the side and it was perfect, the way it should be, my craving for good Naan and curry was finally satisfied, I really enjoyed my meal!!! I have taken two stars off because of desserts and my husband who is a non-vegetarian didn't like the non-vegetarian food, there was tandoori chicken (too dry), lamb curry( not tasty), some fish dish (bland), chick. Biryani (dry), chicken vindaloo (avg). It was disappointing for him, however he got himself another serving of chat and a beer and was happy with it. I ordered a mango lassi (was good) on the side. The final bill came to $32.24 before using the coupon which was awesome. The price and the food is quite satisfactory, no wow factor, but a good decent meal.

Very good food. We had the app sampler, which was deep-fried deliciousness. I had the chicken masala, which was good. My husband has the lamb rogan josh and it was amazing. The naan was also excellent. We had a groupon, so it was a very good value, but overall prices seem reasonable for the serving sizes. The location is great for us, but I was surprised at how empty it was for a Friday night.

The reviews of this place surprised me with the experience there. We were a group of 5 and were suggested to take carry out and declined to be served stating its close to closure time. We were there at 0915 pm and they are supposed to be open till 1000 pm. The only reason I even waited for a carry out was due to a coupon I got on restaurant.com and we all starving. They had 5 staff members staring at one other and wondering what to do with a new guest coming in. As I type I am trying to keep my tone as mumble as possible and not to swear. Coming to the food part, we ordered all the 3 Biryani's and surprisingly the Chicken and Lamb biryani had Green Peas in them, made me shoot myself eating biryani with peas and especially when am hungry. Coming to the entree part, we had a panner curry and it was the worst packing to start with, it was wrapped in a stupid aluminum foil case and spoiled the trunk of my car, I assume I saved myself from eating some horrible experiment there. Overall, its the first and last time I will be going there, and for the price charged its not even worth half way, as a top off its located in an isolated place next to a freeway and loud.

Absolutely fantastic. Delicious flavor, and when you request dishes to be spicy they actually make them spicy!! My husband and I had felt underwhelmed by Indian restaurant choices in the Plymouth/St Louis Park/Eden Prairie areas. This is the Indian restaurant we had been searching for! We have tried the Palak Paneer, Lamb Korma, Chicken Makhani and Chicken Vindaloo and highly recommend them all as the holy grail of their respective dishes. We have had nothing but good service here too.

I haven't been to the lunch buffet yet but I tried out dinner takeout. I'm not too familiar with Indian food but I love branching out and trying new things. Generally things were okay. The shrimp masala and kheer were major highlights! The naan, daal, and lamb kabobs were just okay. The beef samosa was a bit disappointing and bland. I would go back just for the kheer and to try the lunch buffet.

  • Lily W.

My husband and I come here at least once a week - love their lunch buffet! The kids love the naan of course. We almost always have to order the paneer pakora and chicken pakora. I'm fairly certain the chicken makhani is near identical to butter chicken at other Indian restaurants. Think I'll go there tonight.

I have visited Bukhara with colleagues and family more than 10 times now. Our group usually has about 15 people. The hosts accommodated all of us together for the lunch buffet. The food was really good, we had no trouble with the staff or service. The restaurant was clean and well maintained and the servers were happy to accommodate any request not on the buffet menu as well.

Wow! This is the best Indian food restaurant in the western burbs. I've been to two others that were really, really good. This place blows them away! We had a bit of a lot: pakoras, samosas, paneer, chicken tikka masala, shrimp tikka masala, dal, naan and basmati. Everything was delicious! On top of that the servers were attentive (but not annoyingly so), friendly and fast! 1000% recommend!

Stopped here on a lark, because fellow Yelpers said it was the spot. Boy, were they right! This is my new favorite indian buffet in the west metro!! Very attentive service. Very clean and nicely decorated place. I saw they had speakers all over, but no music was playing. Not sure why, but they should add that. The buffet was had very good variety, a good mix between hot and spicy as well as tame dished, and a good choice between vegetarian and chicken dishes. Quite a nice spread. The garlic naan was also very good and flavorful. The only thing missing were samosas. One of my favorites but it wasn't part of today's buffet. Overall though, I was very pleased with the food, the service, and the price. I will definitely be a repeat customer, and can't wait to bring friends here!

Wife loves the garlic naan. Chicken Marsala is great. Most things I try are great. We have came here plenty of times, my wife and I, and enjoy it every time.

  • Omnivore E.

Pretty good. I wish everything was spicier. I don't mean heat level, I mean seasoning with spices like cumin and such. Their paneer has an amazing texture and I believe it is housemade. Also recommend the samosas and onion pakoras. Their fried foods are well made and not greasy. Service was great as well. Yes, you might wait a few minutes for a table, but in a city where halfway decent ethnic food is hard to find, it's worth it. Just do everyone else a favor and not complain passive aggressively while you wait. You are only ruining the experience for others.

  • Sandra H.

The Rogan Josh is excellent. I love lamb and very few restaurants have it on the menu. The server asked how spicy I wanted it, and my meal was ordered mild, which was perfect for me. The meal had great flavor, without being spicy hot. The atmosphere at Bukhara is nice, and parking is very convenient. You will notice that many of the diners are of Indian descent, which to me indicates authenticity. During lunch they offer a buffet, so you can try a variety of dishes. I will definitely go back. The cuisine is Northern India.

I was renewing my driver's license, and was suddenly struck by a mad feenin' for Indian food. Trusty Yelp sent me to Bukhara, and wow, what a find! On the outside, it looks like another boring strip mall restaurant. On the inside, it looks pretty nice. I can't speak to service, as I only got carry out, but the decor was really nice, and there appeared to be plenty of staff to take care of the patrons that I could see. I ordered the Chicken Shahi Korma, which was a creamy dish with paneer (Indian cheese), chicken, raisins and cashews. At around $12 for carryout at lunchtime during the week, I did find it slightly pricey, but I'm not going to knock a star off for that because the food was just wonderful. It was SO good. Portion size was a little small, too, but again, the flavor made up for it. It only took approximately 10 minutes for my food to be ready once I had ordered, so that's a big plus, too. I plan to come back and actually eat in the dining room, so I'll provide a more comprehensive review at some point, but for a first visit, 5 well-earned stars. Delicious food!

Two words: Lunch Buffet. I can't say I've had a regular meal here, but I'm consistently impressed with the buffet. Usually a good variety of tasty items, it doesn't ever get dried and nasty like buffet food tends to, it includes very good naan, and the service is great. A solid option for Indian food in the western burbs.

  • Lynn B.

This is by far the best indian buffet in the twin cities metro. Huge selection and such good service. I think they don't get as much business as they deserve because it is in a strip of businesses along the freeway on a frontage road. So good I wish it were closer to minneapolis so I could eat there every week. The pakora curry is craveable. Three thumbs up.

  • Kip V.

We've been to many Indian restaurants; this is one of our absolute top favorites and we've enjoyed dinner there many times and have always been extremely pleased. We're vegetarian so I usually get the palak paneer. Vegetable pakoras (sp?) are delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing and quiet. The servers are friendly and polite. Prices are very reasonable considering the top notch quality and flavors. If you dine there once, you'll be back.

We had a LivingSocial coupon to Bukhara and decided to use it on a Saturday night (1/28/2012). It's located in a strip mall right off of 394 heading into Wayzata. I never would've thought to stop at this strip mall to eat at a restaurant, let alone an Indian place. We walked in and the decor was typical of what you'd find in any Indian restaurant, including light Indian music in the background. I did find it funny that there clearly was a Chinese printed calendar by the front register; at an Indian restaurant! We were promptly seated; business was light for a Saturday night and the place had dim light. We ordered naan and I got Assam Indian Chai (Super Good!) to start with. I'm guessing the naan was cooked in the traditional way, because it was amazing! We tried to order another batch, but our server must have misunderstood me and brought me another chai tea. We ordered Lamb Curry and Chicken Mahkani. The curry was excellent! Had a hint of heat and great flavors from the chunks of lamb; cooked with onions, tomato's and other spices. The Mahkani had a wonderful tomato flavor; it was almost like adding chicken to creamy tomato soup, but only better. Super creamy, with a rich tomato flavor, combined with rice and it was an amazing dish. We finished everything off with Gulab Jamun, deep fried milk balls in sweet syrup. I've had this at a few other places and this one was very similar to all the others. Overall, great place for Indian food on the west side of the Metro. I gave 3 stars because of service. The food is good, but the service could have definitely been better.

  • Hale L.

We had to go here twice because we couldn't believe how good the food was the first time around. The second time, the service was not stellar due to the obvious fact that they were short staffed. I overlooked that minor inconvenience because my chicken biryani put in me in a food coma. My wife loved the panak paneer: fresh spinach with chunks of homemade cheese. If you like garlic, order the garlic naan. Wifey loves the alu naan, salted potatoes stuffed in a naan (flatbread). We normally order twice what we need so we can take it home. For about 10-12 bucks, you can have a meal, be satiated and have enough for leftovers. Let me tell ya, Indian food tastes better the next day! I hear that this place has a wonderful lunch buffet. Perhaps I will partake during one of my weekly days off.

We were here for dinner. The food was good. It could have been spicier. In fact if you order it spicy it still isn't very spicy (at least it wasn't for us). The decor (once you get inside the strip mall location) is better than expected for being a strip mall restaurant. They have some very nice wooden dividers and the booths were comfortable. It is not the best Indian restaurant in the twin cities, but certainly above average. I would give it 3.5 stars if I was able to.

My wife and I had a Living Social coupon for $30 at Bukhara, which is located in an unassuming strip mall near Ridgedale Mall. We entered the low lit bistro and asked if the voucher was good for the buffet. Success, yes! So we had $10 left to spend on a Diet Coke for the beautiful wife and 2 Kingfisher beers for me. Plus 1 on the score! I can't remember the last time I have had a Kingfisher, it is a light lager, but a nice sweet taste. I also noticed it was made in Bangalore, India. Bangalore is the hometown of a lot of my Target India friends. Bangalore is like the Silicon Valley of India, so i was surprised they brew beer there, but the climate is temperate there, so it kind of makes sense. Cool. I have to ask them if they have toured the plant. Very refreshing beer, crisp and light. I got up and got my first plate, some chickpea stew deal, some chicken marsala, some chicken schwarma dish that they called "Kabob" I added some dahl and a tofu dish. They also had goat on the bone, Score! The chickpea stew was pretty good, pretty mild, but yummy. The dahl was a light dish, but again, mild to the palette. The chicken marsala was also tasty, lots of wonderful spices hit the olfactory senses with each bite. My wife looked at me goofy as I attacked the goat, I realized I looked like a neanderthal attacking the goat like a rabid dog. The look on her face was like "I actually hold this guy's hand?!" I noticed it and decided to be more demure in my eating of the grass chewer. My second dish went well with the 2nd Kingfisher. I got more Billy, some more chicken marsala, some more of the wonderful, WONDERFUL, chicken kabob dish. It was like a crispy leather, but in a good way, but tender and had a gyro flavor underneath. Sooooooo good! I got a hit of raita for my wife who had an order from the kitchen, she wanted me to get a little to spread on her naan. At Indian buffets, she usually orders off the menu and she got 2 orders of naan, her favorite. Kind of like a pita that has been grilled to perfection. The buffet naan is usually plain flavor, but she always orders a garlic flavored one and an onion flavored one. I always say, "Go for it" because that usually means I can get 2 beers instead of one with the coupon. "Umm..I mean, whatever she wants makes me happy." I tried the garlic and the onion naan, they melted in your mouth like butter, even though they had none on them. The garlic was just enough to say hello. The onion was a little subdued, but I added some of the more creamy than usual raita to it, and it was like an explosion of love in my mouth. I was stuffed after two trips to the plentiful buffet of spices and meat. My wife was satiated with the naan, for a pretty much vegetarian she was more than happy. Now, my only complaint, our waiter. He took our drink order fine, but he really looked like he didn't want to be there. "Dude, it isn't my fault you work here, if you don't like it, do something else." I treat my job like a privilege, I am here to serve you, completely different fields, but if I didn't want to be here, it isn't your fault, so I won't take it out on you. I would have given it a 4, but the service, which wasn't bad, it just wasn't even one step over good. I still gave him a pretty good tip, but it left a bad taste in my mouth, even though the curry flavor lasted for the next 6 hours in my mouth. Good food overall though.

4 of us had dinner last night. Service was excellent, the food was delicious and authentic.and the prices were very reasonable. We liked the appetizer sampler platter, the chicken bahkani, and the homemade pita-like garlic bread. A nice selection of cocktails, wine, and beer was served. It looks like a non-descript strip mall from the outside but inside the decor is very nice. Indian sitar music was playing. The atmosphere was quiet.. A good place for a conversation. We had a reservation but didnt need it as it was not crowded at all.

I have a bit of a drive to get here, but it's not nearly as far as India! This food is AMAZING! and the friendliest servers I have ever experienced in any Indian restaurant in Minnesota. I have truly struggled to find good Indian food, but the quality, variety, presentation and my favorite, flavor and aroma of the food is worth the drive from any part of the state. We delved into chicken biryani, the palak paneer or spinach curry with homemade cheese, Chicken Korma and both garlic and plain naan. I would recommend any of these, or I would just close my eyes and point. I'm sure whatever you land on will be fabulous!

Had a Restaurant.com coupon to use, so when our group was seated, I showed it to our waiter who's response was, "We don't do that any more." I protested, saying I had just purchased it in December. In the meantime, a friend asked him to clarify the difference between two dishes and he told her to "read the menu." When asked if there were any specials, his reply was "Everything is special." Then, he told us that the coupon was good. His attitude definitely impacted my experience at this restaurant. The food arrived. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, however, my husband ended up with a seriously upset stomach last night and I'm wondering how the rest of our friends fared... I'll take Ghandi Mahal over this place ANY DAY!

We found this much better than taste of India. We had dinner of garlic naan, onion naan, chix palak, tandoori chix and veg biryani. All excellent and fresh. Only foods that were not excellent was daal {bland} and mango ice cream {gritty} . Edward was excellent server.

Lamb in the Rogan Josh is very tender and delicious. Raita is thick and creamy. All of our food was very flavorful and delicious. A couple of minor complaints: The menu says that dal is served with every entree, but then the waiter told us that there's "only 1 per table," which was a little strange. We got a couple cups of chai, and no one ever came to refill them until we were finished with our meal...which was sad, because it was really good.

Bukhara is not only delicious, but is is consistently delicious! This is my favorite Indian restaurant in the United States-- best Indian I've had outside of London. There are tons of vegetarians options and vegan options too. Tofu masala tastes like cheese and cream, but it's vegan. Vegetable Koorma, and onion Pakora are some other favorites. The lunch buffet is also fantastic! They offer some items not on the regular menu. The service is also consistently good. Totally FIVE stars! My husband eats meat and he finds lots of great food too. Also, Bukhara is clean, not fancy, but clean, and always good.

Ordered take-away. Had the Tikka Masala and the Beef Vindaloo, as well as the sampler platter. Overall it was a very good meal! The appetizers were spot on, and the flavors were up to par with what I have come to expect in *good* Indian Food restaurants (a lot back home in New York). Definitely heading back there!

The lunch buffet is perfect if you are unfamiliar with Indian food. You get an opportunity to try curries, vindaloo, masala, etc....with no commitment. Naan bread brought to your table. And for only around $10. All wonderful! Great service, too. I'm so glad I finally tried this place. I've been craving it ever since!

Very Very good Indian. It is kind of located in a off-place, I found it on Yelp. I was very apprehensive about Indian after my experience with Indian food in the recent times, but these guys made my Sunday. This place was opened up in a place of a previous restaurant which used to shut on Sundays, so lots of people dont think it is open on Sundays, so it was kind of deserted with only 3 more tables occupied when I went. Starters were the best I have had in an Indian buffet. Great fish pakora, and there was a veggie bajji sort of thing which I did not know what it was but was tasty like hell. Excellent dal, chicken and fish. Loved the spread they had for desserts - usually, buffets are cheap with desserts, but these guys had gajar ka halwa, gulab jamun, rasmalai (which was disappointing), kheer and mango custard. Buffet is priced at 9.99$ which I think is very reasonable for the quality of the food. And the service is very good also. Overall, great place - would go again.

We went back to Bukhara Indian Bistro and found it even better the second time around. The $9.99 buffet on a Sunday noon is crowded with good food although the bistro is amazingly uncrowded. I liked everything but the highlight was the lamb dish as well as a wonderful piece of tandoori chicken along with the vegetable samosas. The naan came warm and tasty and we enjoyed every bite including the spinach with garbanzos, not something I would have tried if not for my previous trip. This place will definitely see more of us in the next year as it has made our starting lineup alongside Chistos and Quang.

Went here with a large group for my dad's birthday. The food was delicious, we shared about 8 different things. Quick service. We will be back! Brought a 3 year old and had no issues as well.

Bukhara is the best Indian food we've had in the Twin Cities. Prices are very reasonable & flavors are delicious. We had to start out with the samosas, which were very good. Hubby had the chicken josh & I had the chicken tikka masala. We easily cleared our plates. The highlight of our dinner was the mango ice cream dessert. DELICIOUS! I've never had this sort of ice cream before, but we wished we had each gotten our own. Take advantage of the coupons Bukhara has in the mailers & your meal will be more than reasonable.

Nothing to write home about. Decent little lunch buffet - you might want to get there early as it looks like the food wasn't being turned over very often.

My friends and I often eat at Bukhara. The food is consistently wonderful! The staff is friendly and will often make recommendations for us to try new dishes. If you enjoy fine Indian Cuisine, then Bukhara is a must-try!

I stopped in today for my fourth, and NOT final, lunch at Bukhara's medium sized 11am-2:30 weekday buffet. It's very good. Mild, but good....suitable for non-meat eaters, I even dare say. They had a beef and a fish dish. Chicken tikka, and tandoori, then the rest was non-meat, including delicious samosas, and an above average tofu dish (forgot the name) and a few more items. I always get a mango lassi, but today's was not as good as previous. It tasted a little sour, and since I know there's a good chance it's just the mango, I kept my paranoia of the dairy's questionability (on this 102F day) to my self and just left it unfinished. Service is fine and the price is right ($9), especially if you get in on the rare coupon or online promotion they offer (Groupon, Strib Steals)! The only time there were more than a few tables taken when I've stopped in for lunch was shortly after it opened. It's extremely convenient to the Carlson Towers and area office buildings, but kind of easy to overlook being in a not-very-attractive frontage rd strip mall. I hope it can survive!

Wow! I wish Bukhara had a restaurant in my home town! I started with a chicken battered appetizer based on the chick pea that came with two excellent sauces; tamarind (red sauce) reminded me of concord grape mixed with lingonberry, and an herb sauce that I think was parsley based. YUM! Dinner was lamb dish called Rogan Josh served over Basmati white rice. It was a thick, tasty, lamb stew that balanced sweet and savoury to perfection. I could eat that dish once a week for life! I was dining alone and did not have the appetite for dessert. Too bad because the options looked excellent. I would have preferred dining with 2-4 people so we could share plates but that's the downside of business travel. If you're in the area I encourage you to try Bukhara! The food was excellent and the wait staff VERY attentive. You won't be sorry!

Mixed bag. If you define yourself as the less adventurous type or stereotypical Minnesota bland, but want to get a taste for Indian food, try Bukhara. However, if you are well acquainted with ethnic food and love authentic Indian fare or you're from India/Pakistan, I can't recommend this restaurant. Unless they have a "special" menu that I was not privy to, I found the food very bland. It had all the look and feel of the Indian food I have grown to love, but none of the deep flavor (other than a good dose of garlic).

Good food, reasonable price. Easy to get to once you figure out it's on the 394 frontage road.
