Firehouse Subs

Brought the kids here today for a try. I had the Hook and Ladder light. It was very very good. It tasted more like it came from a "restaurant" than just a sub shop. The bread roll was warmed and the ingredients were fresh. It also came with a pickle wrapped so it didn't make my sub soggy. The kids also tried the chocolate chip and lemon cookies. They were very good! Truly a fantastic addition to the St. Cloud area. We will definitely be back again!.. No more subway for this girl!
Really good sandwich. Had the BBQ brisket. The meat was tender and the sandwich was really simple but high quality. Came with a pickle wrapped in a bag. Was a nice touch. Sandwich was pretty messy but can't really knock them for that. They were out of cole slaw and roast beef. What the hell. The picture of the pulled pork and slaw on Hawaiian bread is what drew me in the first place. Was disappointed about that but the BBQ brisket made up for it. Might try there again tomorrow. Hope they have the slaw this time.
Excellent service and very kid friendly! The owner went out of his way to help myself and the friends I was with. Sandwiches were great and the kids meals are a perfect size.

Quaint little place. We tried pizza and a couple sandwiches and all were good. The service was good, too. We would eat here again.
Excellent house blue cheese dressing. Small but very comfortable. Very tasty sandwich. Thanks for a very enjoyable lunch.
Amazing food in an intimate little restaurant. We've had salads, soup, and pizza here and have really liked it. Their desserts are great as well. The ambiance of the place, and its location just next to the theater makes it a great place to go before or after a play/concert, whether you're dressed casually or classy. We have never been disappointed here, aside from some rude comments made by another customer one time. We don't go here nearly as often as we should. I highly recommend it.

Greek Cravings

After a long day working on our house, we needed a quick meal. Instead of heading to Subway I consulted yelp, and found Greek Cravings. What a find! Jerry says we're eating there every night. We were greeted with a smile, and the place smelled heavenly. The gyro was beyond delicious, and the herbed fries absolutely fabulous. This is a fairly new business (18months), and it's sure to be a great success. I've lived in Turkey, which has food much like Greece, and this is the real thing. It's inexpensive, fast, and fabulous. Not only that, but the owner and his assistant were both warm, welcoming, and appreciative. Can't beat it!
Less than $40 for a family of 5! Great: food, staff, prices. Had gyros, kabob, rice and all were perfect. What a great little place!
I hasn't been in ere in a few months. They haven't lost a thing. Still great food at a great price. I highly recommend it. We were there Sunday after church. I'm surprised the church folks or hungover college crowd wasn't cheek to jowl.

This is a great walk up soft serve and slushee place. Reasonably priced. The neighborhood is lucky to have it. Wish there was a place to warm up on blustery days. Also, they need to feature some more "healthy" options, though I doubt they would be that popular... but sugar free syrups would be a nice addition.
Better than DQ, more Ice cream at half the cost. worth the drive to the west side.
VERY EXPENSIVE & not very tasty or good. All soft serve, cream pie sundaes flavorless. Go to DQ!

New York Gyro

Reviews:
Gyro - which is pronounced "Jai-Roh" by New Yorkers, "Yee-Roh" by Greeks, and "That Wrap Thingy" by Minnesotans are wonderful hand-held offerings of lamb, tomatoes, onions, and tazatziki (cucumber yogurt) sauce, served in a warm pita. I lived near Chicago's Greek Town for several years and have probably eaten my body weight in Gyros several times over. This place ranks right up there with the best I have eaten. If you are on the hungry side I would recommend the Lamb over Rice combo which is a great deal and very filling. They also one of the only places in town that offer falafel which is very tasty. The prices are very reasonable, the service is always friendly and fast, and the food is amazing. I hope that St. Cloud embraces this local business as it is far better than any chain restaurant.
I just had my first lunch at NY Gyro (lamb and rice, salad and samosas). It was all delicious. The sauce used on the samosas was particularly good. This place will be one of my regular lunch visits.
Really impressed with the quality of food. Sandwiches excellent, Briyani amazing, samosas mouthwatering! Also excellent service. Their new place has great sit down area.

Good BBQ! Lots of meat choices come either as a sandwich or a variety of meat plates. Choose: Texas brisket or sliced brisket, southern pulled pork, marinated chicken, tender turkey breast, Italian sausage, spicy cheddar sausage or pork ribs. Lots of side choices also. BBQ beans, dill potato salad, waffle fries, chips, ceasar salad, cole slaw, fried okra, green beans with bacon, fried onion tanglers, mac & cheese, baked potato casserole & jalepeno beans. They also have baked potatoes and salads. Free ice cream cones are a great way to finish off the meal.Daily specials include kids eat free on Sundays. *with purchase of adult meal. Seriously good food! I will be back again.
Great clean place with a clean American atmosphere. This will be my favorite go to bbq food in Saint Cloud. The big pork sandwich plate was tasty lean pork that wasn't dry but juicy, with great sauces to pick from. I like the jalapeno beans with it and slaw, endless drink, and free self serve ice cream. I never left unhappy.
Love this place and they all look the same. Atlanta Detroit and now Saint Cloud. All identical. It's like smokey and the bandit meets cannonball run in here. I feel like I need to grow a Burt Reynolds mustache to fit in here. Closest thing to southern Bbq north of the Mason Dixon line. It's really hard for me to rate a chain 5 stars but dickies earns it every time.

We were with a pretty large group--7 adults and 7 kids--and the service and food were great! They have a great menu with lots of variety and amazing gluten free options. There were several wraps ordered, nachos, taco salads, pizza, burgers . . . And everyone was happy! We will be back whenever we are in St Cloud!
Average food, but drinks are usually very well done. Ok in a pinch and nice outside patio
I have a #1 go to place for each of my favorite foods. When it comes to the perfect bufflo wing, Blue Line is in a league all their own. If I discovered that a meteor was hurtling towards earth and I had one last meal, it would be the "Extra Hot Traditional Wings with Blue Cheese" from Blue Line. They have this perfect tang and hotness and they're amazingly crisp. They never skimp on the sauce and their blue cheese dressing is unmatched. It makes me sad just thinking about how far away I live from this place. Then again, maybe it's for the best or I'd spend half my paychecks here.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries

4144 - 4146 2nd St S
St. Cloud, 56301
Reviews:
Much better than almost any other fast food burgers, including the many non-national chain burger drive-throughs close by. I definitely appreciate the size and taste of the Double Cheese Burger with Bacon. But what really takes the cake, of course, are the free peanuts (can you throw the shells on the floor?). Wait, they are free aren't they, or am just stealing peanuts? Do they always play classic rock loudly here, and is this a St. Cloud thing or do they do it everywhere? The place is spacious, well-maintained, clean, has a nice bathroom, and friendly people, what more do you want in a home?
Decent burger, better than BK or McD's but a lot more expensive. Fries were pretty standard. They offer free peanuts which was nice. I ordered a cheese burger with mushrooms and steak sauce, got one with onions and steak sauce. Not the end of the world.
I've tried Five Guys numerous times, but I have to confess I'm not a big fan of their hamburgers. I don't quite understand what the hype is. I do love their peanut-oil fried French fries. They're yummy, and you always get more than you can possibly eat. They're great to share. If you're not extremely hungry, but are looking for a place to share a snack with your significant other, go there for the fries. You won't be disappointed with them.

Cowboy Jacks

506 W Saint Germain St
St. Cloud, 56301
Reviews:
We and a large group of friends frequent Cowboy Jacks. Love, love, love the dry rub wings. Excellent happy hour from 3 to 6. 2.00 bottle beer and drinks. Half price apps. Free peanuts too. Service is usually very good. They have a mgr. walking through often also. Just in case you would have an issue. Always recomending this to friends.
i just wanted to commend Cowboy Jacks for their help an honesty... I accidentally left my credit card there (oops!). I was passing through the area, and hundreds of miles away before I realized this. The helpful woman I talked to on the phone agreed to mail it to me at their expense (not much, but the thought & effort counts). I received it back at home, across the country shortly thereafter. This was a heck of a lot easier than canceling the card... Anyway, it's refreshing to deal with helpful & honest people. As for the food - it was fine. Not gourmet, not bad... I'd suggest to stick with the basics & you should do just fine. While there are a zillion restaurants in St. Cloud, nearly all of them are really generic chains. At least Cowboy Jacks had a little atmosphere.
Cowboy Jack's has left a great impression on me the last two times I have been there and mainly because the service was exceptional. Such friendly and helpful waitstaff and quick service. Yes, it is a chain restaurant and there aren't any super stand-out items on their menu, but it is consistently good food and they do have a great selection of items on their menu. Great bar specials so the drink prices are reasonable. Great Bloody Mary bar on Sundays. Some of their dishes (like the chicken pot pie) are delicious but should automatically come with a to-go box because it is too much to eat in one sitting. Complimentary peanuts you can throw on the floor. Casual atmosphere. Perfect downtown location with a nice view of the downtown streets. Nothing particularly fabulous about this place, but always a sure-bet...and sometimes that's all you need.
