Fresh Picked PIZZA

1048 W Hwy 96

Reviews:
Y'all, I almost wept tears of joy today upon eating at Fresh Picked Pizza. I recently had to go gluten free and dairy free because of intolerance to wheat and lactose, and it has been a REALLY hard adjustment because wheat and dairy are all things delicious in this world. My husband had eaten here before and we decided to give it a try because the gluten free crust at Pizza Luce is not good and I was having a serious pizza craving. The first thing that is awesome is that they can make ANY pizza in the joint GF and dairy free. Plus, they do mediums and larges, in addition to the personal size, so there could actually be leftovers. Holla! I was overwhelmed by all the options, so I went with a basic veggie. My husband got a pasta and a salad because he was going to leave the pizza for me. They also sold a handful of different GF cookies and some that are GF and dairy free and that was a really nice surprise. We took everything home to cook so we had to wait less than 10 minutes for them to put everything together. Seriously, guys, the pizza was awesome! The ingredients are super fresh and seriously, it was just like eating regular pizza. The crust wound up being a great texture and the "cheese" melted extremely well. It wasn't any more expensive than any other pizza pizza place, either, so this will definitely be our new go-to pizza stop. I'm excited to come back and explore the menu further, especially to try their GF pasta dishes and the salads! I'm SO happy this place exists in the north metro!
The pizza is very good. As mentioned in other reviews, the ingredients are fresh and the cheese is "real." The lady who took my order must own the place, because she was as friendly and welcoming as I could have asked for. The people making the food were friendly too. And the kitchen (which you can see from the seats at the counter) is spotless. As far as that goes, the whole place is spotless. Don't be fooled by the location in a what looks like a run down strip mall. Stop by. I think you will like it.
Gluten free pizza is hard to come by, but this spot does it right. Their sauce is fresh and robust and they use (GF) crust from Bittersweet Bakery. A refreshing change from Pizza Luce's mushy cardboard.

I've only been here a couple of times, because it's not that close to my house. It's a pretty standard independent sandwich shop, with one caveat. Fantastic pickles. Pickled cucumbers, pickled asparagus, pickled pickles. I grabbed my sandwich to go and enjoyed the best that it has to offer at home. It's slightly pricey, and it seems like the menu tries to do a bit too much. Is it a sandwich shop or a bakery? That being said, it's a nice little independent shop with friendly staff, very good quality food, and awesome, awesome pickles.
If you're in the area and want a sandwich, you should definitely come here. The bread is reallly fresh and the house sauce makes the sandwiches taste even better. But I wouldn't recommend people to come here from across town.
Locally owned and operated sub shop. The fact that it is not a chain always makes it better. The prices are a little higher, but a great place to stop by for a quick lunch.

Five Guys

Malt Vinegar. Yep, I added a star for malt vinegar. I love that stuff on fries. 5 guys is a chain that has been in the twin cities a year or two. This place is the latest installment, which thankfully is in my stomping grounds. They serve burgers - not bad. Better than Smashburger and their ilk. I ate mine today with no ketchup/mustard/mayo just so I could taste the burger. It stands up to the inspection. This is one of the better fast food burgers available in the Twin Cities. The fries are fresh and come in very large portions. We split a regular and still had plenty left over. But, this place has the most uncomfortable chairs I have sat in in quite some time. You are forced to lean forward. Seriously uncomfortable. They could change the name to Burgatory with those chairs. So much for that extra star.
I should give this place one star for being so close to my gym and creating a terrible influence on my eating habits. But hey, I can't hate! The fries are amazing and the burgers are to die for. The burgers' capacity for almost-infinite customization has always been a favorite feature of mine. I have been here a couple times so far and the service and food seem on par with other Five Guys locations (a good thing). Five Guys is one of those burger places with a lot of buzz, so I would definitely recommend trying it at least once if you've never been to one of the metro locations.
We stopped here because we were going to go to the Cup and Cone for ice cream and subs and then realized, duh, that was the rest of the world's plan. We were looking for a quick way to avoid cooking and neither of us had been there.. So we chose it over Chipotle next door. Dumb. I'm not a big burger fan anyway, but it was hot in there, a ten minute wait, and just not so great. We shared a bacon burger and fries and the two year old liked the grilled cheese. The fries were pretty good. I wouldn't go again...I really miss Fudruckers.

I like to go to Meister's to sing Karaoke (they have it every other Friday.) I really like the bartenders too. Try their dry rub wings, they are delicious!!
Outside patio allows smoking, typical bar food. The location is in a strip mall area next to a hallmark store and a pizza place. The pizza place "fresh picked" is really good!
Great townie bar. No frills or thrills...great service, great drinks and tasty bar food. Super friendly staff.

Great location across from Target - easy access to 694 and a short drive to Snelling. Went in at 4pm to grab my normal Venti Blonde Roast with cream and they were all out so I waited for them to brew another batch. After five-seven minutes the first single brew came out with coffee grounds in it. They proceeded to make another cup which took another 5-7 minutes. All in all, they ended up buying my cup but I would have rather spent the 2.50 and had my coffee in 30 seconds, rather than wait 15 minutes. Glad that barista bought my coffee...
This a brand new Starbucks across the street from Target in a nice little shopping strip. The real effect of this on me is that now I can walk from my hotel across the street for my fix rather than drive all over creation looking for a REAL Satrbucks and not some Target kiosk. Good work whoever for the location. Service was spot on and everyone was trained right.
The staff seemed crabby today...... Could it be that they are all havering their cycle at the same time......!

Horrible service. Short haired blonde server was incredibly rude and down right mean. I would go out of my way to never go there again. Apparently they don't like wedding parties who are willing to pay and tip better.....
Staying at the Hampton Inn last week for work, there were limited options for food but I was happy to see the usual hotel bar was replaced with an actual bar and restaurant. Stopped in my first night and was happy with the experience, there is a decent tap list including local Summit brews and the happy hour included a list of apps for only $5.99. I tried the chipotle chicken nachos one day and the personal pizza the next. Honestly for bar food and for the price, this place is awesome. Update: Although this does seem minor, its worth pointing out since this is a restaurant attached to a hotel which i'm sure sees its fair sure of business travelers. Both meals at the Green Mill were not charged on my card until the next day - this made my expense reporting way off since my receipt was dated one day but the transaction wasnt posted until the following date. Just an FYI for those whom that would apply to - its a very odd occurance and one that caused me a headache.
A little lunch grab before I had my ass handed to me at Flaherty's in some bowling. The hotel it's adjoined with was under construction, which was fine, there was no work going on that caused an annoyance during lunch. Although, I could imagine at another time it might - so be warned about that. It's been a long time since I've been to GM. Back in the day at the one in Maplewood, it seemed like at one time it was good, then the quality overall of the food went down and I just stopped. The one on Grand seemed to be a bit better, but, still nothing overly special. Then I found myself at this one willing to give it another go. And it's the last go. I went with the Tequila Lime Chicken Salad. Which, let me forewarn anyone, if you plan on kissing your significant other within a days time, do NOT order this. You will have the most god awful breath that will attract skunks and strip corrosion off a car battery. The salad itself, left a lot to be desired. The "chicken" strips themselves that came on it looked like those Tyson frozen things that you can nuke from the grocery store. They certainly didn't have the taste of grilled chicken. The salad itself, romaine lettuce, was cut strip wise mixed with what seemed like coleslaw iceberg? I eat a lot of romaine salads, but, cutting the lettuce maybe a centimeter wide is just not a god idea. It has absolutely no flavor at all, and mixed with the iceberg crap is just not a good mix. Not to mention the texture is that of fake, presentation parsley (and yes, I've ate the presentation green stuff on plates to know this). Flavor wise overall, definitely needs more grilled lime action in there. Throw in some actual cilantro too, just don't put it in the description. My date went with the chicken parm. Very big proportion and wasn't half bad actually. I've definitely had better, and worse, chicken parms in my day. Breading was a bit on the thick side, so, if you're not the biggest breading fan for this, be warned. Service was solid. No complaints on that side. But, the overall quality of food leaves me with no questions as to why I stopped eating here a while back.

Playing Milton Nascimento ftw! We ordered amazing catering, which was still quite generous for our large party. I highly recommend it.
I've been to this location several times and it is, without question, the dirtiest Chipotle I have ever been to. Food on the floor, food on the tables, food overflowing from garbage cans. No visible effort to even attempt to redress the problems. Horrifying and awful.
It's Chipotle. How could you rate it at anything less than 5 stars?! It's delicious, nutritious, fast and cheap. The store is clean = 5 stars. it's busy, so plan for that. The staff is friendly and efficient.
