Caribou Coffee

2218 County D Rd W,Ste 1

Reviews:
Caribou is not the best coffee you can get, but it is good. So are its breakfast sandwiches (not cheap, but better than McDonalds). Normally I would be hard pressed to give any chain coffee store five stars, especially for one I've never been inside. But this is simply the best drive-through for coffee I've ever used. Normally, you are not going to drive to this location to sit and have coffee in the store, I would guess most customers are drive-through customers. It is on County Road D, before the entrances to several highways/freeways (35W, Old Hwy 8, and Cty Rd 88), so it is a convenient pit stop for coffee. The people staffing the so positive it is shocking. There attitude is infectious. The only reason I even tried their breakfast sandwiches, which I normally wouldn't have at a coffee drive through, is that I was so please with the attitude that I wanted to say yes--proving that great customer service is good business. My orders have always been correct and I've never had a problem with the drinks or food. Suggestions for other menu items are always friendly and not pushy or time wasting and the food is always handed over with a smile. I really hope that Caribou pays these folks a decent wage because it is exceedingly rare to find such professionalism in a fast-food drive through.

St. Paul Baglery really delivers on execution of their food in an unassuming but pleasant store and very affordable prices. I was raised on Brueggers (one of the very first shops is in my hometown), but St. Paul Baglery really takes it up a notch. Their bagels are well cooked - hard outside, soft inside- and taste very clearly like the advertised flavor. Their cream cheese incredibly flavorful and smooth with lots of interesting choices. Apricot almond cream cheese, where have you been all my life?? Bacon chive is another favorite. I also just had an amazing fresh, gooey, rich cookie from them. We used them for a series of work breakfasts (~100 people/day) and they were extremely friendly to deal with, reasonable prices, everything was ready on time, and they even did some 'extras' (like pre-slicing) for free.
"Luther vandross" on a garlic bagel - 3.5 stars pizza bagel for the kid - 4 stars according to him if it has sausage on it, order it without. the sausage isn't that great, but the pother proteins are good! the garlic bagel was excellent! not burnt like a lot of other garlic bagels I've had. the best part about this place is the eggs. real cracked fried eggs, not the rubbery yellow circles at breuggers or mcds.
We love this place. I HIGHLY recommend the St. paulie. Always spinning interesting vinyl. Have tried not tried smoothies bet they are great. The iced tea is different and good. Yummy scones.

Caribou Coffee

1127 Larpenteur Ave W
Roseville, 55113
Reviews:
Walk in, everyone happy smiling. Barista ready to great me as I walked up. Another modern Caribou that's closer to being Peet's Coffee. (I have a feeling in the near future Caribou will all change to Peet's, but I read too many financial journals I guess.) Quick efficient service, clean roomy shop and happy employees at least to us which is all that matters.
The pros: Clean, spacious, and well-lit. There is almost always somewhere to sit, because of the sheer size of this location. (Unlike, say, Spyhouse, or some of the smaller coffee shops.) The staff are always friendly and cheerful -- I've never had a bad service experience here. I adore the Spiced Rooibos tea. It's hot and delicious and warm and cinnamony without all the calories of a sugary latte. The cons: This location is only open until 9 p.m. most nights, which is fairly standard, but inconvenient for someone like me who needs to work in the evenings. Occasionally there are large groups of people who meet here for Odd And Noisy People Conventions (just coined that term)--it can be fairly noisy and distracting. But this is rare, thankfully. The wi-fi is slow. (Update: I'm going down a star because the wifi is SO SO SLOW that it's getting hard to get work done. I can't do it anymore.) Also, someone else posted about their drive-through -- this location does NOT have a drive-through, unfortunately.
This is my neighborhood Caribou and I visit it often. Uber pleasant staff with an easy going atmosphere. Nice place to relax, work a crossword puzzle and chat. A mixture of local folks and students. Some folks seem to use this place as a remote office and could use some restraint on the cell phone calls. We really don't want to hear your conversations.

I had some business in Roseville and didn't want to eat at the same old places, as good as they are. I realized I haven't been here in awhile. What a difference. They have lunch specials everyday, and I found egg foo young with chicken. You get 1 piece that is huge, fluffy, and loaded with chicken. Smothered in the most delicious dark brown gravy. It comes with fried rice. It's not your throwaway junk that a lot of rice can be with a special. This is loaded with peas, carrots, and chicken. When I was done with the foo I spread out the rice to get some in the gravy, and it filled the damned plate. The two cream cheese wontons are delicious, and not over fried. The old bathroom would have made Jenny's grossest bathroom list easily. Now it's gorgeous, comfortable, and in a more convenient spot. This has turned into a destination for me.
Good food that's always fast with great service. It's always hot and you get your choice of fried or plain white rice, no charge. The portions are huge and well worth the small price. I've always gone for lunch to get the cheap special and I always have enough leftovers for 2 meals. This place is great.
One lunch special is enough food for 2-3 people!

FreeStyle Frozen Yogurt

Among the fro yo places around Minneapolis, this one is at the top of the list. They have a pretty good selection of flavors as well as toppings. And they make it fun by having a spin wheel, for all of you, hard core gamblers! Your phone number is used instead of a punch card, so you don't have to worry about it bulking up your wallet or forgetting it. I do wish they would have hazelnut flavor yogurt though. Pretty please!
This is a clean, bright and delightful place to get frozen yogurt. TMI: But as I get older, I can't really eat ice cream anymore. SADFACE. But this place's froyo satisfies that ice cream need with less of the calories, fat and tummyache. Try the red velvet and tart flavors. That kiddo likes it, too....especially the gummy-bears.
This was some good yogurt! The sorbet was deeelicuous and didn't have an overly tart flavor that some places have. For the chocolate lovers out there like me, try the Ghirardelli chocolate yogurt!! Who knew I would be eating frozen yogurt when it was 20s outside?!

Sarpino’s Pizzaria

2216 County Rd D W
Roseville, 55112
Reviews:
We order from this place every week, but last week our delivery was taking a bit longer than expected so we called to see what was up. They said they had a new employee and that one of the pizzas had to be redone. When they arrived, the pizza was free, for the inconvenience. The pizza was perfect, as always. I felt so bad that we were eating it for free. That's what you call commitment to good service. Geesh. Tremendous.
I am addicted to Sarpino's pizza. I was so used to them back in Illinois that I started missing them after moving to St.Paul. One day after work, I went to get my mails from the mailbox and voila...sarpino's pizza ad in it. I went back to my apartment and called Sarpino's to order my large pizza for $9.99 and had it delivered in less than an hour. The same great taste I was used to back in Illinois. I would prefer Sarpino's over Pizza Hut or Dominos anyday. Go for it...I am sure you will love it. Oh BTW...try their Tiramisu too. It just melts in your mouth.
Love the veggie pesto pizza! Colorful, flavorful, and delish! Great, thick chewy crave-able crust.... This place has unique pizza's you won't find other places.

I came here for lunch first time today and it was a great experience. I had the crispy noodles with stirfry on top; highly recommended dish. Besides the delicious food they have there, everyone was also very friendly and welcoming as I entered the door. Ontop of that theres is also Rosedale shopping center a block down the street from it. I also noticed they have added Pho to the menu, which I will definitely try next time Im there for lunch. I am confident it will be just as delicious and savory as my crispy noodles dish today. Great people and great food!!!!
I have been going to his place for over 20 years now. They have the best sesame chicken and hot and sour soup, I have ever had. Their general Tso's and Peking chicken are also very good (if you are a fan of the battered and deep fried chicken with sauce). I also want to add, all of their chicken is white meat, which to me is a plus. Their lunch specials are super reasonable, $5 for soup or salad, entree and an app (cream cheese wontons, chicken wings, egg roll, etc). Dinner is also reasonable, ~$8-10 per meal. If you are in the area and want to try something new try this place. You won't regret it!
I'm not sure why this place has such a high rating. The service was good. Really friendly staff. However, this was some of the blandest beyond Americanized Chinese food I have ever experienced. I'm pretty sure they opened a box of frozen sesame chicken from Costco or something and heated it up. I doubt anything was made from scratch or even partly from scratch. The atmosphere was outdated and bordering on unclean. Would not recommend for anyone.

Jimmy John’s

1631 West County Rd C

Reviews:
I love this Jimmy Johns. It goes beyond what you expect out of Jimmy Johns . . . You expect them to be fast - right? This place is ridiculously fast. You can go in at lunch time and get in and out in less than 5 minutes (way less than sitting in McDonalds Drive Thru!). You expect good quality food - right? The bread is always super fresh here, some of the freshest I've had from Jimmy Johns. The meats and veggies are always fresh and good quality. One thing I especially love about this Jimmy Johns is that hey are super friendly and nice here - some of the best employees I've ever dealt with in a fast-food style resturant. They always greet you and are super pleasant and even joke with you. It's great. Plus, this place is always clean. Love it.
Great place for a very quick filling sandwhich and a cookie for a decent price. Much better than subway (I won't eat at subway anymore, mediocore food at it's best and last couple times just nasty.) Jimmy Johns is one of two fast foods I go to anymore, the other is Chipotle. Just say no to fast food crap!! It's not hard once you start.
I usually avoid places like this at the noon hour as I feel pressured and frantic, so I really have to give this place credit for making me not freak out even though the speed at which my sandwich was made was amazing. I barely had my receipt in my hand before I was reaching for my sandwich. My only complaint is that they are SLOPPY. When I opened my sandwich in my car lettuce flew in 50 directions and the meat was sticking out of the end of the bread like a tongue blowing a raspberry at me. I almost always get a #16 and I am never disappointed. YUM.
