I really like the idea of having a bar connected to a hockey rink. It makes for good entertainment while you are enjoying a cocktail. I just wish I didn't feel like I was paying for drinks at an actual hockey arena. Didn't try the food but it looked like they had some great daily specials. If you like hunting for cougars I think this is a place you would love! Might be a fun place during actual hockey season.

Had a great simple lunch here. Mainstream crowd pleasers and HUGE food...seems like it would be popular in this area of the Cities. We'll go back.

Returned here today after not being here for a year or so and was really impressed. Staff said they are under new management and it was very noticeable. Was served fast and staff was friendly. Had Hawaiin blue marlin as the fresh catch and it was better than some downtown restaurants I've eaten at and it was half the price. I'll definitely be back and bring family and friends.

Well this place has gone downhill as they had recently changed their menu. They removed like 30% of their true and tested menu items and hiked up the price on the existing items. I understand that out server isn't there to be our friend, but she was as insincere as they come. She pretty much dropped off the check, and said thank you while turning away and walking a million miles a minute. guess this is the last time we come here. Sad really

I could give or take this place. We had a coupon for buy one entree get one half off. We were pleasantly surprised that you weren't limited to the entree items and you could use it for burgers, pizzas, or sandwiches. I ordered the Sirlon med-rare, it came overcooked to med and was tiny, I was also a little surprised at the amount of liquid on the plate. I didn't know if it was herb butter melted off the steak or if it was water from the veggies but it made things soagy. I liked the potatoes. Brian ordered the calzone. It was okay. I'm personally not of fan of calzones becuase I always think they are dry and need a ton of sauce. I ordered a glass of wine during HH and they give you a huge glass which was great and our waitress was very nice and took $2 off the bill since the steak was over-cooked. I think we will go back to try some of the HH apps or stick with the cheaper non-entree items.

Went there and had breakfast last week. We had a coupon for half off a breakfast. Place was pretty crowded but service was exceptional. All the food was really good and I think we would go back again. If breakfast was that good I can't imagine how good lunch is. They have a full-blown hockey rink inside the restaurant. I will update again after we have a lunch there.

Spicy bloody Mary's and fresh catch fish tacos were exceptional not to mention the key lime pie for dessert! Never disappointed here!

We've been coming to Fireside since we moved to Rosemount a couple of years ago. There really aren't many other options in town, and we've grown fond of the place, really. Clearly a place for locals. Not sure why it's called 'Fireside' when it should be called 'Rinkside'. Lots of people going in and out wearing hockey breezers. This actually lends some decent atmosphere, and authenticates it as a sports bar and grill. The restaurant itself is nicely made, roomy, and fun. The food is not going to surprise anyone, and I have yet to try a meal there that would make it stand out as a specialty or anything to make the restaurant stand out. That said, the menu is extensive and should have something for nearly every taste. The biggest strike here is the service. The slightly below average service is about the most consistent part of our experience over the years. Your drink will go empty well before someone offers a refill. Your food will never be steaming hot. You'll never see a floor manager unless something goes wrong. After you are seated, it's a sort of mercenary process. Best advice is to get your own refills at the bar where employees are trapped in a pit and are forced to serve you.

Last night was our first time there. The food was good, but the service, well, it kinda sucked. The server was almost nowhere to be found and we had to flag her down a few times. We finished our meal and we were there for about a hour or so after we finished to hopefully have some drinks, but soon after we finished our meal the server brought us our bill, we paid, and then we never saw her again. We for sure would have had at least $50.00 more in drinks, which is all lost revenue for this place, but we did not want to have to keep on flagging down the server for every little thing we needed. We may go back again, hoping that the server was just new, or something. The only thing that I did not like (and Fireside cannot really control this) was all the hockey brats playing outside getting in everyones way and standing in the parking lot, preventing people from driving.

Let's keep this review simple. It's a restaurant (I used that term loosely) connected to a hockey arena. Drink here. Do not eat here. The food is VILIE.

The pizza has definitely changed, it's fantastic now. Fresh crust and pineapple. We come here a lot while my daughter has hockey practice next door. Great place.

First, I'd like to say that I live in Rosemount and we've eaten at Fireside many times since they first opened. I used to love the place but, since being taken over by new management, things have gradually gone downhill. Now it's to the point where I'm having doubts whether we'll ever go back again. Last Saturday, we decided to stop for dinner. Knowing that it fills up quickly on weekends, we showed up promptly at 4:55 and were seated right away. There were maybe a half dozen tables with other patrons. We put in our drink order immediately, and within 5 minutes the waitress returned with the drinks and took our food order. I ordered the salmon entree and my wife ordered turkey sliders. After 40 minutes, we still had no food and the waitress hadn't so much as stopped back to ask if we wanted another drink (our glasses had been empty for 10 minutes). Looking around, I saw that we weren't the only ones without food. The place was 3/4 full and yet there was only one table where people were eating. I finally flagged our waitress down and asked if our meal would be coming out soon. She said, yes, it would only be a few more minutes, and asked if we wanted "a salad or something" (we didn't). So we ordered another drink and waited. And waited. It was now 6:15; we had put our food order in an hour and ten minutes ago. My wife went over to the hostess station and asked to see the manager. He came over and we explained the situation, and he said he would take care of it. Five minutes later the food finally arrived (an hour and 20 minutes after placing our order), however, my salmon showed up minus the "roasted vegetables" that the menu description had promised. And my wife, who had ordered turkey burgers, got beef burgers instead. We explained this to the waitress, who apologized and said she would get us a replacement. This was the final straw, though. We got up and left. On the way out, the manager was very apologetic and said they would comp our entire meal. It was very nice of him to offer, but we had had enough at that point and declined. We left and went down the street to Rudy's Red Eye Grill. Although it was 6:30 on a Saturday, they found a seat for us and within 20 minutes we had our meal. Now that's service.

Not a memorable place. We had a "call ahead" for four people at 6pm on a Thursday evening. Turns out, 6PM meant, wait at the bar until we have a table ready at 630. OK, no biggie. I guess I'll get right to it: - Food: Decent (OVERLY expensive salad bar) - Atmosphere: Typical, not really anything different than anywhere else I've been - Service: Below what I would expect. Just nothing to make me want to come back or even feel welcome the first time. We saw the "manager" walking around in jeans and a t-shirt...we honestly thought he was some guy walking thought, taking food off of people's table - Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. The bartenders (for the 30 min we were there) had a better time flirting with each other and the servers than actually doing their job (hence the $1 tip for 4 drinks). This place really needs to take a step back and look at the types of people they want to stop by their restaurant. I won't be coming back.

First I just want to say the service was excellent! The waitress checked on us often and was very polite! As for the restaurant itself, it is attached to an ice rink and kid's play hockey games there. So with that said there was a lot of young kids running around the restaurant and the wait staff had to keep on telling them to slow it down. God forbid their parents do that! Geez. This is a nice place to hang out with friends and just eat and talk, not expecting anything special for food or ambience. The food looked great, but lacked flavour. I had fish and chips and my wife had meatloaf and they were both bland as could be. Not my kind of place, this is more geared for parents of sports kids.

As a hockey mom whose son played here every sunday october-march 2012. I frequented this place a few times with fellow hockey moms. I liked the Bruschetta sandwich without chicken, Ahi tuna appetizer and green beans appetizer. Hockey kids usually like the chicken strips. Sundays are all day happy hour 2 for 1. the chicken nachos were good the first time and 2nd and third time very disappointing. They used left over chicken the 2nd and 3rd times. Very inconsistent, different cooks? Service is hit or miss. Us hockey moms give your place a lot of business, maybe hire more waitstaff during hockey sundays...

My wife Sue and I stopped in for dinner at your establishment on Saturday 11/30. We were greeted right away and the hostess asked us if we had a seating preference. We said the dining room and she sat us right in front of one of your fireplaces. What a great choice. We were very comfortable. Your wait staff could not be better. It was pretty busy that evening. We made it in time for happy hour which my wife was real excited about. You have a very good selection of house wines. The food came fast, fresh, and hot. It was very delicious. We ordered the buffalo chicken salad and a chicken wrap. The atmosphere was very comfortable and the decor is spot on. I will let be back soon.

I'll keep this short and sweet: Date of visit: Wednesday, 5/2/12. 1. Food: I had the bruschetta sandwich with grilled chicken breast. It was very tasty! I would order it again. The french fries were average--I'd get a different side next time. 2. Ambiance: I don't know why more people haven't thought of this before--a restaurant attached to a hockey rink is a brilliant idea. It had a very cozy feel to it, similar to how the old Timberlodge Steakhouses used to be. NOTE: Wednesday night is karaoke night. BAD IDEA to go there on Wed. night (after 9p): very loud and a lot of bad singers seem to live in Rosemount, based on the quality of performances we heard!! 3. Service: TERRIBLE. Absolutely terrible. Hence the 2-star review. Our waitress (who never introduced herself, prob so we wouldn't know her name...we finally learned her name from the check) came over maybe 4 times total--we were there for 2.5 hours. She forgot my drink order, screwed up my friends' food orders, we had to track her down at the bar to pay...not good. This was my first time dining there, and my friend said that service is always terrible there and everyone knows it. All in all, I would say this place is between 2-3 stars, mainly based on service alone. I will be going back for a wedding rehearsal dinner, so maybe sitting in the "Warming House" (the private dining room) will improve my opinion of the place...however, for now, I will leave my review as 2 stars.

For today's dish I decided on the Big Kids Mac and Cheese because I needed the carbs for a bike ride tomorrow. The dish looked delicious when it came out with a very nice garlic bread stick on the side. I started digging in on one side of the plate.....hmmmmm.....a tad runny with a creamy, cheesy substance. I took another bite, looking for the tomato and bacon that I was promised on the menu......hmmmmmm....missing. I tasted the cheesy creamy substance and too many bread crumbs on top. The bread crumbs add texture but if you put too many on it, you get too much of a bread crumb taste and that's not what Mac and Cheese is supposed to taste like, right? Maybe I was brain washed as a kid? I did find some tiny cubes of tomato and I tasted them by themselves and they were flavorless. I still wasn't able to locate the bacon After a few more bites. EVERYTHING is better with bacon on (in) it but you have to be able to taste, or even find it! Come on, my favorite Rosemount restaurant, I don't want to start looking for a new favorite again.

Place is ok , slow service and only 20 people inside . Food was nothing special -Denny's , Perkins level . Don't plan on using the restroom . Shared with "The Pond" ice rink next door . Full of 10 year old hockey players. No soap, no towels , plumbing for urinal was ripped out of the wall and missing . WOW

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The decor of the restaurant is tasteful. It is a pleasant mix of sports memorabilia with an upscale north woods feel. We sat next to the fireplace, which was just what I needed on a blustery day. The fireplace also provides a nice buffer between the bar and dining area. The food was served in an appropriate time and came to us nice and hot. The french fries were the star of the show.

I was very surprised by Fireside Grill and Bar, I think the location has always made me wonder how good can the food be if its connected to a hockey rink, maybe my expectations were low, but the food was really good, we ordered Thai lettuce wraps for an app and they were delicious, they did use romaine lettuce which made it a little difficult to "wrap" but our plate was gone in 5 minutes. We stuck with the normal grill food from there. My wife got a patty melt, my son got a burger, and I had a Rueben. All of our sandwiches were delicious and tasty. The decor is very sports bar with a northern cabin feel, but very comfortable. There is a bar side and a restaurant side, on the bar side you can watch players on the hockey rink. I would definitely try the Fireside again.

The atmosphere is hockey themed next to a hockey rink and you can see players playing on the ice. If you are a hockey fan a very cool place to get something to eat. My girlfriend and I really liked this place and the food was great. I had the Fireside burger with hand cut fries and a sweet tea. The burger was good and the fries are good but, eat them when they are hot they will get soggy. My girlfriend had the Tilapia sandwich (which I had half) with sweet potato fries. The sandwich had lots of seasoning and the fries were sweet which were very good. All and all the service was great and I will be going back again sometime soon.
