I'm very impressed by the desserts that I purchased. Better than most I've tasted in any state or country, truly. I used an Amazon Local voucher. Everything was fresh and the ganache was just the right texture and thickness. Even though what I bought was mostly chocolate, it was not too sweet. I highly recommend. I'm going to try the Anoka location for their savory menu next. What I bought: Wild Thing, Chocolate Mint, Flourless Chocolate and Nirvana

This place is kind of hidden in a strip mall. I went to take a gander since i bought a groupon deal for it. I got the Concerto and Nirvana dessert. They were both really good, but the Nirvana was my fave! The added nuts surrounding the dessert added a nice crunch and gave it some added texture. I would go back to get the Nirvana dessert again and maybe try something new too :)

As of 2015, the Plymouth location is closed. Very sorry to lose the best bakery in the west metro.

Evil wonderful fabulous. The quality and variety make me feel like I'm back in San Francisco. It's not like being in Plymouth at all. The chocolates and desserts are beautiful enough to be works of art. The flavor is even better than the looks. I'd love to bring desserts from here to an intimate little party or home for a date night. It'd make it feel like being at a five-star hotel.

While I was antiquing in downtown Anoka with my sister we got a little hungry and took some time out for lunch. I've driven by this place quite a few times and loved the outside decor so had been wanting to try it out. It's not only charming on the outside but just as cute in the inside. This is a casual lunch spot where you order at the counter. Seating is somewhat limited and it was busy over the lunch hour. We both ordered the soup and salad combo. The walnut, pear and gorgonzola salad was delicious. There were a variety of soup options all of which were homemade. The most difficult thing here will be to try to avoid all the treats (red velvet cakes, cookies and tarts) in the glass showcase where you order. I definite must try spot if you are in downtown Anoka.

After stopping in to Pineda Tacos for lunch today I noticed the open light in TnT next door. This was a very good sign to see on Valentine's Day! This location is not normally open on a Tuesday, but was open for VD! I came back around 3pm to grab some delicious chocolate goodness to earn my hero badge on VD. Several customers milling around, ogling the goodies in the cases, but I knew what I wanted. Thankfully a helpful staffer saw that I was ready to order and I let her take care of my order. I was out of there a couple of minutes later and set the treasure in the back seat for the ride home. After dinner the morsels were served up with care and they did not disappoint. The chocolate, raspberry, Baileys and cream made sure that this holiday was enjoyed by all. Thanks TnT!

Like some of the other reviewers, I too noticed this place for the first time when dining at Pineda Tacos (a great place for an afforable Mexican lunch, btw). Even after years of watching movies at the cinema across the street, I never knew it existed until recently. The location isnt very good for this place. Actually, Im not sure how they stay open, which is a shame to say. They have good pastries and some unique items--but it's tucked away between a couple restaurants and it's hidden from any main roads. Also, the bakery hours are very odd. A couple times Ive been there during the day it's been closed. Im not sure if this is to accommodate private orders/catering... But definitely check before you make the trip. The lady that has helped me there is very friendly. In fact, she allowed me to sample 4 different things one time--I didnt even have to ask. I would have never tried the peanut butter and jelly tart if not for the free sample, and I must say it was very tasty and unique. The best thing there is the cannoli. Having spent a lot of time in NYC, I always appreciated a well-made cannoli and they are surprisingly hard to find in the Twin Cities. This one is made well (also try Sweet Taste of Italy for good cannoli). Overall, it's a good little bakery. It's a small place in a bad location and the hours are strange... But they put out good products and the people are nice. Worth checking out if you need something sweet and are in the area. Pros: Good products--one of the better cannoli in the cities, friendly people, unique items like the PB&J tart, big parking lot Cons: Strange hours, small space, bad location

Truffles and Tortes supplied the desserts for my daughters wedding reception, and they were delicious! I would highly recommend this bakery!

Disclaimer: This review is for the cakes only! . So here I was in Plymouth on a Saturday, which meant I should make a stop @Truffles & Tortes. which is on my list of cake places to try. I was a bit surprised that the store was a bit hidden away, it is located in strip mall parking lot, a little bit of a drive from hwy 169 exit, which I rarely take..so I would definitely not have found this store if it was not for Yelp and my gps. If you are not looking for it, you can miss this tiny store located in btwn big restaurants and businesses. When I got there and opened the door to the shop..I found the store to be even more smaller than I thought...TINY...where were about 5 pple in the store, counting myself and the lady behind the counter it was a packed full house. I was excited though, being in the tiny crowded room..and anticipated in delight as I looked inside the lighted display case showing off the beautiful truffles, tortes and cakes behind the ppl before me. Well, it seemed like the trend for everyone was to get individual slices of the cakes..how funny, I didn't mean to follow suit but I also got the slices of cake, which I was here for.. the sweet lady behind the counter giggled when she got to me when I asked for slices (I was her last customer in this little rush) "Oh my goodness...the cakes didn't even have a chance to be returned back to the display..!" . I decided on a slice of their raspberry torte cake and chocolate cake. The very nice lady described the cakes and told me it shouldn't sit in the car too long, which concerned me..O no.. I still had an appt in about an hour and currently in betwn errands so the cakes will be in the car for awhile I said..so she suggested that it would be best for me to pick it up later then, after my appt. She told me that they were open until 8pm she made sure that I didn't forget.... they are closed the next day, Sunday she said, until Thurs. The store is only open Th, Fri & Sat..Wow, I was really surprised at the times/days...I said I will definitely made sure to stop by after my appointment - and I did. I can understand why this bakery has been a favorite to many people here on Yelp, and in the Plymouth area..super-nice customer service and gorgeous beautiful cakes. The 2 slices of cakes which I split with my mom later that day was rich, moist and tasty. .good...except it was a little too sweet for our taste though...funny I noticed another reviewer here said she preferred Byerly's which is exactly what my mother said...Since the cakes are a little too sweet for me and the store is a little out of my way,I probably won't be back for cake here...but I will always remember the pleasant experience at Truffles & Tortes, so that is why I am rating this review 4 stars, because it makes it to my "Yay, I'm a fan category". To those who think customer service and relationships don't matter, think again. I am certain the very nice lady has very loyal customers in that area and beyond, and I wish her the very best!

This place is truly a hidden treasure. I ventured out with my mom and sister here with a groupon we bought online. The bakery shop is in a small and old strip mall but the outside doesn't do it justice. Inside, it is small but the pastries and desserts are fabulous! So good that once you try them you will have to come back. We tried a few different pastries and bought a cake while we were here. Nothing disappointed us after trying them. I was surprised at how moist, rich and tasty everything was. This is a small place that has a big bang! People were waiting before it opened to get in right when it opened. Since it is a small place, it is first come first serve so if you were hoping to get a certain cake that day, you will want to be first in line. They seem to be in high demand and working on keeping up with customers. Although, I found out while I was there that they do take orders so that is good to know! The ladies there are so sweet and try to help in a timely manner. This bakery will not disappoint. There were customers in line that were regulars and raved about how great the service and desserts are and they were right! They also have chocolate truffles there but didn't get to try them this time so probably will next time I go.

Amazing desserts! I always ask my husband for special treats from here for our anniversary or Valentine's day. We have yet to get something we don't care for from T&T. Do yourself a favor and grab something delicious on the way home!

I've tried this place multiple times trying to find a dessert I love. I've come to the conclusion that this isn't the bakery for me. Everything is too sweet and too rich for my taste. The fruit tarts are okay, but I can get one just as good for half the price at the Byerly's bakery. If you don't get there within the first 2 hours they are opened, the selection is limited to about 8 items and because everything is delivered from their mothership location, you're simply SOL. This location never knows what they're going to get the next day, which gets annoying because you'd think communicating the daily list would be good business sense. But this patisserie is too good for that. The next time I have a sweet craving, I will drive the 5 miles to a Byerly's bakery than walk 200 meters to this place.

I moved away from the Twin Cities a year and a half ago, and still daydream about the desserts here. All the cakes, tarts, and signature desserts are amazing. I have never been disappointed with the desserts, however, I am not the biggest fan of the truffles. No matter, there are enough rich decadent baked and layered things to crave, yes, even over a year since you've last had them.

What is the thing to do when your relationship is going down the tank and your friends are pissed at you for ditching out on them? Pick up a tart from here (key lime is recommended), gather your friends, and go watch the movie waitress (probably not playing as this all happened about 2 years ago) in the movie theater across the street. The world will seem better for a chunk of time I promise.

I went there last Friday afternoon, and after I followed my gps to the strip mall parking lot, i was thinking .. oh! this place is here? Ive been to tea house a couple of times, but ive never noticed truffles & tortes. The inside is not that big, but the display case showed so many dessert items, and they all looked so yummy and also very pretty. It was my first time there, and the lady that worked there was very helpful. She explained to me what each item was. I decided to get a piece of cannoli, a piece of their award-winning Nirvana, a piece of raspberry fudge tart, and a piece of red velvet square. The cannoli was very nice. The cream filling was creamy, but not overly sweet. However, I found the shell a little bit on a thick side, and i could taste a burnt flavor. Their award-winning Nirvana (velvety chocolate mousse with a hidden dome of creme brulee on a chocolate hazelnut praline) was very good. It was super rich but not super sweet. The raspberry fudge tart was also pretty good. I like how they used a slightly tart fruit to contrast with the sweet fudge. The red velvet square was probably the sweetest one of all the four. It was still really good. The cake was very moist and rich even though it's been sitting in my fridge for 3 whole days before I ate it.

REALLY GOOD. The truffles are fantastic, sold individually means you can try one or two for cheap and really savor the great taste without getting fat or spending a ton of money. The cake here is really exquisite as well. Buy a slice and share it with a loved one. It makes for a great bonding experience.

Stopped by Truffles and Tortes on a Sunday afternoon. I had always wanted to try it .Having a small business myself I thought it was important to give others my business. We got there around 3:30 -3:40 and they close at 4:00. I can not comment on the food, because we ended up walking out. I was surprised at how rude the girl behind the counter was. We got comments like "what can I get you... we are out of chocolate... we are out of chi.. And the best one.. ".bty. we close at 4:00 so did you want this to go? I don't mean to rush you but..." Im really disappointed. My cousin was in from out of town, and we thought that would be a fun thing to do. We ended up at the new Caribou up the street.
