Our favorite local breakfast spot. Large portions, fast service. Sometimes there is a wait due to popularity. A little on the expensive side but it is worth it. Hometown cooking with a smile.

I stopped in for lunch while taking a break from fishing . There were a total of 3 people in the diner and the service was terrible. I ordered the monster burger and fries I figured it's hard to mess up a burger. I was wrong the meat had a bad taste to it and my fries were mushy and undercooked. I would have complained but I didn't see the surly waitress again until she brought my check without a thank you or how was your food ( uneaten ). I will pack a lunch next summer when I go on my annual fishing trip to Minnesota.

No modifications allowed for any item on the menu. After getting up the courage to ask for chocolate chips in my pancakes (I'm an adult), I was ridiculed and bullied for such a childish request. I was told that "maybe if I was 5 I would be able to get chocolate chips in my pancakes." My response was "well can you at least try?" The server wouldn't even ask the chef to do it because "they're too busy back there." My pancake was served with no chocolate chips. :( Isn't it their job to make me food that I order, and then I pay them for it? Bad customer service Betty, and decent food.

Had breakfast here today for the first time. Very welcoming family environment! There are little games for the kids to play with while waiting and the food was delicious. Nice portion sizes! We will definitely go back!

Great homemade food and great friendly wait staff! Betty's is a staple in downtown Ottertail and their catering service is wonderful! Good food, reasonable prices, prompt delivery! Can't beat a homemade turkey dinner, or a wild rice omelet! We always bring guests to Betty's! Consistent quality and service!

Family owned and operated for multiple generations. This local diner is a must when visiting the Ottertail Lake area. The food is very good, service is efficient and kind, and prices are more than reasonable. Many have said the potato pancakes are the best, but i have not tried them. Make sure to bring cash or a check book as they do not accept debit or credit cards.

I gave Betty's a second shot this morning and I was just as disappointed. Three weeks ago I stopped by with some of my family and ordered the eggs Benedict. It was just ok. The coffee was watered down and disgusting. All in all not terribly impressed for my first visit in three years. Today our waitress was rather rude and snippy. The kitchen doesn't take requests (I like my hashbrowns extra crunchy) and our waitress just said "they are only fried one one side" then turned and left. The coffee was still watered down and disgusting. The place was packed and we waited quite a while for our omelets. The hasbrowns and omelet tasted pretty good but it doesn't really make up for the rest. Next time I head to the lake I won't be stopping back.
