Food was great prices where not so great, but i guess they need them prices to be high to stay open, this is a great place to take a girl on a date or even lunch, Servise is spectacular and so is the food, o ya the portions are a bit skimpy, wine was a bit over priced as well

When one finds them self in Elk River Minnesota you are offered chain restaurants en mass. Find a small wine bar with an eclectic, yet simply elegant menu? Unlikely.. Unless you wonder down the road to POUR. Flavor I would put up against some of the best in the business. Thoughtful and delicate with out pretense. Staff and owner are friendly and accommodating. Wine selection is on the small side but well chosen. There is a retail wine shop next door so grab some to go.. My week long trips up here include at least 2 nights of meals here! Stop here. Now. You won't regret it.

Shoutout to the owner Phil for stopping by our table and saying HI! Nice guy!! We had just taken family photos and now it's time for a late birthday dinner celebration for my sister in law. The restaurant is nice... However we were seated at a high table with a high chair for my newphew, which considering the high table we were sitting at, didnt' do much for lil' John since the "high chair" didn't reach the top of the table. He was okay though. still got fed. The food was good though. Hunnie Bunnie had the mac n' cheese which was with penne noodles of something and it was quite tasty! I had some kind of tomato pasta something or other with the grilled chicken option and it was tasty as well! I believe my dad enjoyed his bacon burger once they got it cooked right for him and everyone else seemed to enjoy their dinner as well. Nice local spot to enjoy for sure!

We went as a last minute decision to grab some dinner. Did a quick search on yelp. 15 minutes later we were in the restaurant. To find a place so close to home with reviews and pictures that make you so hungry was nice to see. We walk in 615pm. Seated right away. Our waitress was excellent. Very helpful in explaining the different wines. So we started with 2 flites. One was a white and the other a red. We were surprised to find wines that we would normally never have ordered or bought on our own. Then the appetizers we started with were the cheese curd risotto 2.5 stars. The saffron mussels 5 stars. We were so impressed by the freshness of these and the sauce was spicy (not hot) off the charts full of flavor. When they asked to take the empty plate of muscles they almost lost their hand. We kept it to use as a sauce to dip our fries from the main course "sirloin burger" (5 stars)we shared. This burger was tender moist the seasoning they coat it in was incredible. With food this good we had to end our visit with an after dinner dessert of drunken shrimp (5stars). We can't even begin to explain how impressed we are with the flavor and quality of the food and staff. So in all we had 3 appetizers 2 flites of wine, 2 glasses of wine, and shared and main course meal and with a well deserved tip we were just over 100$. We left more than pleasantly full and wanting to come back.

I absolutely love it here. The atmosphere is good the staff is friendly and engaging. The food is excellent and they have a great happy hour. Of course being named Pour you'd expect wine but their beer selection is great as well, and it changes frequently so you don't have to get the same boring brew.

Lovely ambience. High quality place for a Minneapolis foodie. Service was perfect. Bests: sirloin burger, dessert (Russian red velvet cake) and wine selections Interesting: both the avocado and cheese curd apps A must for anyone needing a quiet evening out!

Congratulations to the little guys! This is a real gem in the culinary wasteland of northwestern Minneapolis. Wine list has probably 75% wines I've never heard of which shows some originality and thought. Now, I like this, but the food tends to be on the salty side so just understand that coming in. Salt is one of the underrated spices and it really brings out the flavor if the food. I had the sirloin steak sandwich which is properly not called a French dip. It's spectacular. House salad with super minimal dressing isn't for his sauce guy but the cracked pepper and Merlot salt made me a convert. Make your way here and you won't regret it. Service was 100% spot on and atmosphere and prices were perfect. Well done.

Could be better. I've been to Pour several times and the food tends to have inconsistencies. The first time I tried the garden salad was on a slow weekday, and it was really good. My salad came out dressed, with the perfect amount of toppings throughout. I would have rated 5 stars. Since it was so good I had to go back and have it again. I went on a busy week night and was so disappointed. The salad was just thrown on the plate with the dressing on the side which was very bland this time around. It was a completely different salad. I've also tried the saffron mussels more than once (where else can you get mussels in the area?). The first time they were great, the second time they were inedible they were so spicy. Great atmosphere, service is fine, they just need to pay a little more attention to the food.

Yummy! This place exceeded my expectations. I usually keep it pretty simple like a cheeseburger or something but tonight I decided to give the lobster Pasta a try. It was delicious! Food arrived hot, tasted good and was fresh. Another person in my party got the pork chop which usually I stay away from since I'm not a pork chop fan, however I did taste it and it was also delicious! It was very moist, flavorful and just tasty. I will definitely be giving the pork chop a shot my next visit. There isn't a huge selection of items to pick from but my dish and the other one I tasted were both excellent. I would rather a place have a smaller selection and just focus on quality vs quantity which was clearly demonstrated tonight. The wine was also excellent. I got the Moscato wine and ended up going next door before I left to bring 2 bottles home with me which is also another positive to this place the wine store is connected to the restaurant. The lighting was dark which I prefer and the decor was a nice theme. After seeing the yelp sticker on the door after I walked in, I can now see why the reviews are so high. The food is awesome! I love supporting good local businesses, the place was busy and it should stay that way. The owner even stopped at our table after dinner to make sure everything was good. Great service, friendly & most important excellent dishes! I will certainly come back again.

It's all in the name . . . why would we expect anything else. My wife and I found this place while searching for a different restaurant, we finally took the time to drive there - not quite in our neighborhood. Mellow Thursday evening, we had a cocktail at the bar - which took 15 minutes to get with the owner trying to entertain us while finishing off what looked like a nice glass of red wine - We then went to the dining room for dinner. The waitress brought us water and left us with the menu stating she would be back to take our order . . . She never came back! She walked by us five or six times and after fifteen to twenty minutes we just got up and left - Very Pour Service. Very disappointed.

I had the mussels done with white wine. They were nothing fabulous maybe because the aren't in season??? Had the French onion soup which came in a teenie tiny cup. If you're gonna charge $6 for it, give a decent portion. It was pretty good, rich and salty but was not warm enough. My brother had the sirloin burger. He said it was mediocre. They didn't ask him how he wanted it cooked but regardless it was unremarkable. Nice waitress cute place but food is subpar.

The food would be good if the salt content wasn't so high. The server told me since I ate half my burger-though others have tasted it-she would only comp half my meal. I was very disappointed by the food and the service. She only got half her tip since she was half of a server.

By far, the best find in this area of MN. The wine selection and the prices are the best I have found. The owners are wonderful and make you feel as though you have known them since childhood. The Pepper Burger was my favorite. However, I have tried everything on the menu over the time I was in MN and can say unequivocally, everything was wonderful.

Great service, great food. Perfect for those that like an informed wine experience. I have had two appetizers, two entrees and one dessert, all were fun for the palette.

Our experience was both positive and negative. Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting - especially considering the cold night when we visited. The wine and beer menu is fantastic. I, being more of a craft beer drinker, was right at home. Our appetizers were delicious - bruschetta was bright and full of fresh flavors. The deviled eggs were also seasoned tastefully and were a nice twist from the norm. Unfortunately, we were not pleased with 3 of our 4 entrees. My mom's burger was quite good in her opinion, though I cannot comment personally. My wife ordered the steak sandwich, and it was rather tough and dry. My dad ordered chicken parm, which was also dry and under seasoned - not moist and savory as we'd hoped. I had the salmon, which was particularly disappointing. The fish itself was cooked well. Unfortunately, he rest of the dish fell flat. The sauce accompanying the fish left an already oily piece of meat even more so. It also was under seasoned, yet still heavy due to the oiliness. I was also surprised that as a 'large' entree, the dish has nothing but a piece of salmon and some wilted, flavorless greens. Overall - I would go again for drinks and apps, but would likely look elsewhere for dinner.

A hidden gem! We went there for a date night and everything was excellent. From the wine and beer selection to the food to the live music to the service- I was very impressed! I highly recommend the gnocchi and my husband said the sirloin burger was one of the best burgers he's had. Enjoy!

  • Brandon K.

Excellent!!! Real bistro food and strong wine list. Thank god for real cuisine --and not a chain!!!--in the northern suburbs!!!! We just munched apps and wine flights and had a very enjoyable "date night".

I had been meaning to try this place since it opened. Finally got an opportunity to stop by for lunch today. WOW! The food was outstanding. I had the Drunken Shrimp app. The shrimp were positively fresh and plentiful. Presentation flawless. For entree I had the Lobster Pasta which was delicious. Decor is warm and inviting along with their friendly, efficient service. I will definitely be back.

If your in the area you have gotta try this place!!! My husband and I love dining at non-chain restaurants for date nights. As much as our kids love pizza ranch or Applebee's they aren't our first choice for a romantic date!! We decided to try Pour one night and It exceeded our expectations !! The ambiance is romantic and quiet. Perfect for sipping wine and reconnecting with your spouse!! We started our date with the Avocado wontons which were very tasty! My hubby ordered the ribeye steak and I decided to try their Penne pasta. My man LOVED his steak ! He compared it to one he had at a steakhouse while we were in Las Vegas!! My pasta was very tasty and the perfect amount. We did however order a house salad to share after our appitizer however it was forgotten. When the waitress brought our entrees she looked shocked that we hadn't received our salad. We just asked her to cancel it. She instead brought it out to us free of charge. The salad was not great! It's only very lightly drizzled with olive oil. It needs a vinaigrette or at least a little vinegar with the evoo...if the salad was not forgotten and had better taste I would have given Pour 5 stars!!! We will try them again for sure!!

I heard good things from the locals - this place did not disappoint! I had the House Salad with chicken breast. The chicken was tender and flavorful. I'm with 5 others and we're all loving it. The wine selection is great (for what I know). The waiter is fabulous and very friendly. Great menu with nice size options in case you don't want to stuff yourself.

Is Otsego the burbs or is this considered the country? Anyways, putting that question aside the Wine Bar selection is few and far between as you head north of the city, plenty of pull tab bars but good wine, not so much. We came in with not super high expectation but was pleasantly surprised when we walked through the door. It's a nice comfortable open area with a bar and a lot of small tables to relax at. Service was good and it is definitely a friendly environment, we'll stay! Now the wine menu was OK, good for north of 694. We started with the Italian flight which was 4 small glasses of various Italian wines. I was expecting some guidance from the bartender/server (we sat at the bar because the place was full) but there was none. Now I was OK with this, I am not a wine snob but I also know my way around a wine bottle pretty well. My biggest disappointment was in the choice of Chianti. I was going to order a glass anyways before we decided to do the flights but the Chianti was weak and very watery. Now let me back up a little to say I am a HUGE Chianti guy and have consumed more than my share of this under appreciated red liquid. It is very easy to select a good bottle of Chianti and it can even be done without breaking the bank (hint; look for the Rooster, black is best but it must have a rooster on the label), this was not one of those bottle (no rooster). I would expect more from a place that has an Italian flight on the menu. Anyways, the menu was pretty good. The muscles were good and the sauce they were in was a little thick but very tasty. The pecan crusted chicken salad was very good although the chicken was a little dry it had a nice crust and good flavor with a tasty dressing. Would have loved to see a meat and cheese plate, especially if they took the time to get to know some of the local butchers (there are a ton of them north of 694) and added some local meats and cheeses to it. I thought it was a little strange to see a burger and no meat and cheese plate but OK. Nice place for a glass of wine just not a Chianti. We will return im sure, maybe I'll try the burger! KT

Great family owned restaurant right in Otsego! We had the cheese curd risotto cakes, and they were out of this world! They also have a superb wine list and an impressive craft beer bottle list. What a gem for the NW metro area!

Get the firecracker shrimp! 8 large succulent shrimp, the wine/cream sauce is so delicious you will find yourself soaking it up with the garlic crostini's. Also had the tomato-mozzarella appetizer, good but wish the would add more collard greens. Great happy hour drink prices! Will be back for sure!

Wonderful atmosphere and very friendly staff . This is a hidden gem of the area. If you want wonderful food and an awesome drink selection you have to try them. The wine is a bit pricy but the good was excellent. Seems like all the food was from fresh and a new take on the usual. The Bolognese and the sirloin burger were excellent.

TO.DIE.FOR. This place is absolute perfection. Just opened 2-3 weeks ago in the Elk River/Otsego area and it is exactly what this area needed. A modern, casual, classy environment. Tables and even the bar made from wine barrels, walls designed with cedar planks from actual wine cases, this restaurant would be great for a fun happy hour with girlfriends, splitting a cheese variety plate and a delicious bottle of wine; or date night with your significant other for that special anniversary dinner. Dress it up, dress it down--whatever you wish and you will feel welcome. The menu is unique and offers pairings that you wouldn't normally think to put together but end up working better than salt and pepper! The menu is organized by small plates (appetizers), mediums (sandwiches), and entrees. My fiance and I ordered the avocado wontons to start. Came with a delicious strawberry reduction dip. I ordered the Stuffed Sword Fish and my fiance ordered the Wild Atlantic Salmon. Both were fabulous and the presentation GORGEOUS. My favorite was the delicious tart, yet savory crab risotto that came with the salmon. Out of this world! Of course we each had a couple glasses of wine. The service couldn't have been better. Even the owner, Phil was there and came to check on us. Everyone is very friendly and you can tell they all enjoy working there. Last but not least---the cleanliness. (I am a stickler; refer to my other reviews...) SPICK AND SPAN! I appreciate a good clean wine glass too and those were washed and hand-dried at the bar to avoid those fingerprint/lipstick marks. Pour Wine Bar & Bistro---THANK YOU and I look forward to my next visit!

I was really excited to try Pour, and I was a little let down. I love the look of the place. High ceilings, a cool fireplace, and nice seating options were a pleasant surprise. It was very comfortable. We had great wine - no complaints there. The service was just ok, pretty slow considering they were not busy or on a wait. We had tortellini that could have come from anywhere. It was under seasoned and very small. My husband had a mediocre, overpriced pork chop. It was fatty and under seasoned. The chesecake was excellent. I would have appreciated complimentary bread or something while we waited. Small things like that will make us look elsewhere next time we go out. I can see this as being a great place for wine and appetizers. I left wishing I would have just ordered a few things from the app menu instead.

I have been to pour twice now. Once for my birthday dinner with a large group and then again with my wife. Both times were absolutely fantastic! The wine was excellent and the food outstanding. I had the stuffed swordfish and then salmon on the second visit and both were extremely tasty. We have had various appetizers and all have been wonderful. Phil the owner is great to talk with and seems to know food and wine. He adds a personal touch by walking around and talking to each table. The wines I tried were fantastic and all recommended by Phil. He claims to own a winery in California, but I refuse to believe him until he takes me there :) (kidding Phil knows his stuff). Only thing that was missing was a dessert drink/wine like a limoncello or port. Desserts each time we visited were average. I am hoping they will expand the dessert menu into something more than what it currently is. I would have given four and a half stars in hopes Pour would strive to expand their dessert drinks and dessert, but had to give five stars because the overall experience for this area is excellent and yelp doesn't allow half stars..

Fantastic food and they change the menu often. Nice but casual atmosphere. Good wine selection that focuses on smaller / less known brands. Just be prepared to wait a bit on busy nights. Well worth the wait though.

  • Julie C.

My husband and I went to Pour on a Saturday night at 7pm, and there was no wait. The tables were mostly high tops, and at least half were sitting on barrels. While I'm sure they look cool, they are extremely uncomfortable because you cannot put your legs under the table! My husband had to sit at a 90 degree angle from the table with his legs off the side of his chair! My options were to sit spread eagle to get close enough to the table to eat, or sit far away and hope I didn't spill. Weird!!! Fail. The wine list was impressive. The menu was odd, but interesting. We chose the Korean beef skewers, walleye cakes, and salmon with crab risotto. The beef and the walleye cakes were delicious. The salmon itself was not very flavorful, but perfectly cooked if you like it a titch rare in the middle like I do. The crab risotto was creamy, and cooked properly, but much too rich (and bland) for the fish. Just an odd pairing. Lastly, the salmon and risotto were floating on a sea of Bernaise sauce. Huge fail. There's no need for that heavy of a sauce with salmon! The risotto and Bernaise reminded me of mashed potatoes and gravy, ha ha! We will probably go back since we live so close, but will request a table without a barrel and skip the salmon! Maybe we should've tried having a veggie or two as well...

This is a great addition to the local dining fare. Had the Boursin Crostini - extremely well done. The spread complemented tomato confit extremely well. Second course was the walleye cakes. Once again great consistency and flavor. Only downside is that the barrel tables are not overly comfortable. Highly recommend.

Wow! ... Otsego? Pour is the perfect 'tapas' style dining adventure accompanied by fine wine. Phil and Diane are gracious and attentive hosts that have bottled their own vintage 'Hell Yeah' and have built a gem in the NW. Be sure to get there before the crowd finds it... Kudos!

Great alcohol selection, including a store attached where you can buy any item you tried while eating. Love music frequently. Pretty good food, and the menu changes seasonally is my understanding. Fun enviroment, nice decor. A fun place for netting for drinks, date night, or taking visiting family too.

Great atmosphere, Lauren was an excellent server, it was our first time here and she walked us through the menu. Excellent wine. The small plate items we ordered were excellent, my wife really loved the risotto cakes. The drunken shrimp was off the hook!!! I highly recommend this place.

A very nice neighborhood restaurant! My wife and I have dined at Pour about 20 times. The ambiance is great and the service is above average. On the weekends the live entertainment is wonderful - we especially like Benny James! The owners Phil and Diane are friendly and most always present. They have a good wine selection. It's a small menu, but you will always find something that makes you happy. The bruschetta is our appetizer of choice, and the blue cheese soufflé is good. The burgers with Bistro fries are very good. We enjoy the lobster pasta (my wife substitutes the lobster for chicken ... I stay with the lobster), the strawberry ribs are good, and I highly recommend the pasta bolognese.

Enjoy!

KT

Place is pretty good, small in the bar area but nice service and saffron mussels are the best around!

My favorite place. Wine and food are delicious with a great atmosphere. My favorite thing to eat is the mussels and blue cheese soufflé.

Fantastic food and they change the menu often. Nice but casual atmosphere. Good wine selection that focuses on smaller / less known brands. Just be prepared to wait a bit on busy nights. Well worth the wait though.
