go for the cheese curds and mushrooms---awesome----the bartender ken is a little on the crotchety side but he can make a damn mean drink and takes pride in doing an excellent job so I put up with his attitude and try to win him over..i like the atmosphere in the bar but the dining area could stand to be updated a little and the old lady waitresses they hire can be hit or miss some of them have attitude and are as slow as turtles pudding thru peanut butter... however as it was in my hood----I did enjoy going there frequently and the salad bar was always fresh the blue cheese dressing was awesome and I usually got a little petite steak meal with the cheesy hashbrowns....the garlic toast bread basket is very good too.....so the food is good---oh yeah....the pink squirrell ice cream drinks are fabulous...it will piss ken off a lil to put in the time and effort to make this however order one on up and enjoy!!!!!!

Went here for a birthday lunch. We had the early bird special. 6oz steak with shrimp. One batterfried with baked potato another had lemon pepper with au gratin and one had cajun with vegetable medley. Absolutely no seasoning on the steaks. Tasted like they were pan fried not broiled. All a little bit over cooked. Augratin potatoes no flavor. Batter on shrimp was bland. lemon pepper and cajun shrimp were way over cooked and rubbery. Vegetable medley was just overcooked boiled carrots broccoli and cauliflower. A tad bit of butter sauce would have done wonders. Basically the whole meal consisted of pass the salt shaker. Sadly the highlight of the meal was the complimentary ice cream sunday for the birthday girl.

We stumbled on this restaurant after searching Google for "walleye in Rochester." Eating on the lake seemed nice, so we decided to eat here for dinner. We had made reservations for a table on the lake. The view was awesome. While eating, we got to watch many of the boaters on the lake. Food- 4/5. I got the lemon pepper walleye and steak combination. The lemon pepper was a little strong (maybe I should've just gotten it fried). Service- 5/5. Our waitress had a good feeling for when to check on us and when to leave us alone. I never felt rushed, even though we stayed for a bit after the meal to drink the rest of our wine and look out at the water. Overall, the view is great, I agree with other reviewers that the prices are a little high for what you get, but the service make up for it.

Food is good, but definitely not worth prices being charged. Extremely out dated decor and appears that it has been for quite some time. We noticed a lot of dust on the window sills. Food arrived in a timely manner. The wait staff was very pleasant to be around. Unfortunately, I could get the same demeanor and good quality at an Outback Steakhouse and WAY cheaper.

I've been going to Fishermen's Inn for years and have never had a bad meal or bad experience. It's one of my favourite places to dine.

I was looking for something a bit different or out of the normal routine yesterday so drove a bit to try Fisherman's Inn. I had been there before but it had been several years. I won't go again at least for several more years unless they make some simple but significant changes. 1. Establish a customer service perspective. 2. Improve the quality of their food. The wait staff was pleasant, once they recognized our presence. We had to wait several minutes to be acknowledged by "Are you being helped?" The same thing happened to a group that arrived just ahead of us. The group had to approach staff to ask whether to wait to be seated or just grab a table. The place was not busy so the experience was without explanation. The batter fried cheese curds were really good. The fries were good. My burger was fully cooked and dry. The Swiss cheese looked and tasted like processed Kraft single "cheese." The place should be busy. It's a nice setting, overlooking a lake and surrounded by hilly woods. But it seems old and tired, a place that has not really tried to be what it could be with a little thought and effort.

The woman owner is difficult, we won't ever go back. She wouldn't honor the landing fee gift certificate due to expiration date. Is that legal? Too bad because the bartenders were fabulous.

I have been going to this restaurant as long as I can remember through however many owners. My parents used to bring me here as a kid. It is located RIGHT on Lake Zumbro. Dining by the windows overlooking the water at sunset is the perfect setting. The food is done well and are in good portions. They have a small salad bar in the evenings that is always fresh. The bartender there has been there longer than I've been alive and is very good. Go on Wednesday nights in the summer for the Waterski show. Good walleye and the chance to see someone bite it on skis? Priceless.

We went there for a birthday dinner. Their complementary garlic bread is great. We all got the early bird special and the prices were fair. Mine was a 5oz filet medium cooked. It came out just like I expected. The salad bar is your basic salad bar with iceberg lettuce, nothing fancy. Another in our group got Alaskan grouper and he really said it was quite tasty. As others commented the decor needs a little updating. The women's bathroom is run down, with scratched up toilet seats, broken brick, etc. It is clean though, just old. Our server was Brad and he was top notch! He made an average rating higher. Pleasant and a hard worker.

Location is awesome!!! Stopped in for a drink and a quick bit to eat. Service was slow and staff seemed to be overwhelmed. Thought we would skip the meal and sit at the bar and just enjoy a drink. No bartender ever showed up, so we left. Must get really busy since the sign walking in says bathroom for paying customers only, we used the bathroom, but no one waited on us, so we will call it even. :). Location is Great and because of that we will give it another chance when in the area on the Harley.

My husband's parents took us here for our wedding anniversary. We made reservations for a table by the window to view the lake and see the fall colors on the trees. It was a quaint place with a down-to-earth atmosphere. It was so comfortable and easy to have a meaningful conversation, that we stayed there for nearly 3 hours because we never felt rushed or distracted. We had the "light menu" which included a smaller version of an entree plus salad bar and we all left quite full and didn't have to bring leftovers home which was nice. Also, as a special perk, we received a free sundae in celebration of our anniversary. Our server was quite special and warmed our coffee cups with hot water before pouring the coffee to assure it stayed hotter longer. She also gave us a history lesson on the Inn and without asking, pulled framed pictures off the wall to show us how it used to look and the story about the bridge that fell down many years ago. Wow! This place is unpretentious and reminds me of a dining atmosphere found back home in the country where I grew up. I would come here again and again with my parents and special friends where the purpose of our visit was to have a chillax atmosphere and talk.

Our family loves to go here. It was a beautiful day and the view of the river and atmosphere is always enjoyable. They have a good full menu, I prefer the steak and shrimp which is always good. During the summer the Rochester water ski team puts on shows, which also is really fun. The service is very friendly and easy going, theres ample seating, they do a lot of wedding parties, and such.

The location of this place is nice. The batter on the cheese curds and fish dont have much taste and I've had better steaks at much cheaper prices elsewhere. The decor is VERY dated. Every time I go there I'm excited to get there yet disappointed when I leave. This places is way too hyped up for as much business it gets. One redeeming quality is that it has a salad bar with soup. I believe the soup is home made and I always enjoy a fresh salad and cottage cheese. The food definately needs a flavor kick to the face.

My family went to Fisherman's Inn for my husbands birthday and were pretty disappointed. the restaurant has been around for years, so we thought it would be a safe bet, but that was not the case. I ordered the special which was a 6oz medium rare filet and 5 Cajun seasoned jumbo shrimp with a side of fresh from the garden green beans. My husband ordered the other special of 10oz with something "stuffed" on top. We were both displeased. Both steaks were at least medium well, my shrimp were way overcooked and no even close to being jumbo sized - actually one of them was salad sized, and the sauce that covered my husbands steak was a scary green/yellow color. I had high hope for the fresh from the garden beans, but they ended up being the color of canned green beans. the salad bar was expected and the potato salad was good...turns out that they use Mrs. Jerry's!! And to top it all off, our bill was over $70!! Not was I expected for what we ordered or what the atmosphere presents. Sorry Fisherman's Inn, but you need to step it up.
