Great bar in a great town. St. Patrick, MN has a church, a softball field, a cemetary and this bar. No people live here anymore. Total dive bar, cheap drinks, nice people, pool tables. If by some chance you are driving to New Prague, stop in along way.

We stopped in to try some of their Czech items. We loved the Vomacka Soup and Jitrnice. Missed out on the Dumplings and Gravy. The Kolackys were delicious. Very friendly atmosphere.
Corned beef....best Reuben ever!!! Service was great too! Will be back next time we're in town.
You don't have to choose between service and quality food when coming to Ettlins. The recently remodeled dining areas are bright and clean. I have been a weekly visitor (usually more than once a week) since I moved to NP a couple years ago. I'm typically a weekend visitor because their breakfast is unbeatable. Homemade kolackys, pancakes made with pure honey, thick cut bacon, and a breakfast sandwich that, honestly, should be shared, all make Ettlins a favorite. Wednesday's lunch special is a beef commercial... I recommend taking the day off to experience it. The dinner service offers made to order green beans with slivered almonds, homemade bread, house made tartar sauce, and cheesecake that is big enough to be a meal. This gem continues to surprise me!

Food is always delicious! Love the Tuesdays as this is their Mushroom & Swiss basket days.
Stopped in at this bakery on a recent road trip. Lots of choices here! All kinds of donuts, bars, cookies, kolackys, cream horns and eclairs. The cream horns were really good, so were the eclairs but they definitely needed more custard in them, they were only filled about halfway through. Every thing we had tasted great. This place is really cute, with a retro looking counter that serves burgers and other food. If I ever find myself near New Prague again I will definitely stop in and get some more goodies.
After seeking out a place in the Twin Cities to find kolaches to no avail, I finally saw a review for a little place called Lau's Czech Bakery in New Prague (121 Main St W). New Prague is a bit of a drive for most from the Minneapolis area, but we live on the SW side of the city and figured if they have kolaches then it is worth the drive no matter how far. Let me begin by telling everyone about my love affair with the kolache. For those that are not of Czech/Slovak descent you many not have yet discovered this beautiful pastry and for those who haven't, all I can say is that you are missing out. Kolaches are a simple pastry, just a round pastry bread that is buttered and filled with preserves. The most popular are cottage cheese, poppy seed, prune, walnut and apricot in the Czech Republic but they have adapted other flavors upon their arrival in the US (cherry, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, lemon, etc.). Before finding out about Lau's in New Prague, I had to special order my kolaches from a bakery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (which has a large Czech population) and have them sent to me. The bottom line is that unless you eat a kolache within 1-2 days of when it was made, it isn't good. Finding a place in New Prague was a God-send. Lau's is a nice little bakery with friendly owners and GREAT kolaches! They have a nice variety of the classic Czech flavors and contemporary American flavors. What I thought was awesome about Lau's was the retro feel of the place. In addition to the kolaches and breads/donuts/etc, they do serve up a lunchtime meal where you can get a cheeseburger and fries for $5-$7 dollars, can't remember the price right off the top of my head. It included a drink. I didn't get it because after all, for me it is all about the beautiful kolache and their variety is as good as any I've had outside of the Czech Republic. Bottom line - try this place, even if it means you have to drive for an hour to get here. New Prague is close enough to the Twin Cities to make a morning out of it. There are other things to see and do in this quaint little community, but you absolutely must make Lau's Czech Bakery a stop. Great kolaches. Retro feel. Small-town charm. Lau's is a great find for this Czech!

I am very happy with my selection. The soup was a delightful, a wonderful balance of flavor. Fallowed by fish and chips. The breading was a surprise, it was crunchy and light. I am a fish snob, and their fish is frozen. So sad, but I understand. Cob is one of the few fishes I do not believe is to badly damaged by freezing. It was tender and flavorful. This translates to proper freezing and defrosting and being breaded at before cooking with the fats it was cooked in at proper temperature. The fries are fresh also. I recommend this place to eat, if this is an example of their food
The Fishtale is super cute! We were out riding the Harley and needed nourishment. We stopped here and I couldn't have been more pleased! From the outside, it looks sorta funky, but the inside looks like.... I'm not even sure how to describe it. I felt like I was IN a log cabin but then there were canoes and fake fish hanging on the walls. So.... I dunno what to tell you. I LOVED it, but it was a funny mixture of stuff. My favorite part was the kitchen. The kitchen was hidden behind a fake cabin with a boat on the roof. I mean, it was so cool! I totally failed to take a picture of it though. I started with a bloody and holy crap! It was amazing! The special of the day was a fajita wrap made with prime rib. Oh hello, my ears perked up and I was instantly sold. Prime rib is my jam and I love it with all my heart. My guy and I decided to split the fajita wrap with cottage cheese (ew, him) and the french dip with fries (yum, me). Everything was so delicious. The fajita wrap was everything. I was eyeing my guys half, even though it was in his hand and half gone.... The french dip was tasty and enjoyable, but after the fajita wrap, nothing could compare. I loved the fries, crispy on the outside and soft inside. Apparently, this place has some sort of food challenge involving a 3 pound burger and a ton of other crap that equals six pounds of food. I can neither confirm nor deny this. I only saw it on the website when I was searching for the menu on their site. All in all, it was a great meal! Would I make a special trip just for the food? Probably not. But if you're out on a motorcycle ride or passing through town, it's totally worth a stop.
We were sold on the French Dip and the Reuben. The Frenchman had been looking for a good Dip for days and we found it here. I also had the Vormacha soup. It was a plentiful cup of vegetables in a creamy dill goodness. I had not had it before. We also like the fishing decor and the extensive quality tap selections.

Came here for a Saturday evening dinner with my family that lives in New Prague. Living in Minneapolis, I may be biased, but this food was not as authentic as I can find on Lake Street or at Midtown Global Market. The menu has all the traditional items you'd expect to find at a Mexican restaurant. The fajitas had so much salt on them and in the seasoning I was drinking water all night, and the following day. I'm not sure what sort of sauce they are using, but it is nearing toxicity with all that sodium. The rice and bean plate that comes with many of the entrees is incredibly underwhelming, the rice is quite flavorless, the beans are salty and I was hoping for more guac than just a spoonful. Another person in my party agreed that the fajitas were overly salted. I do appreciate that they play Latin American music, I can't tell you how many times I got to a Mexican restaurant and I hear 80s or 90s music or rock playing. They give you free chips & salsa (the salsa is quite good, has a small spicy kick to it), which is a nice perk - many restaurants in Minneapolis no longer offer them for free. The food comes out fast, and was very hot. The service was good, the staff was attentive and split our bill, which is always helpful in large parties. I can say that other people in the party did seem to enjoy their meals - but living in Minneapolis, traveling to Mexico multiple times (and I'm not talking about just eating at large resorts complexes), I've had much more authentic and flavorful food. I got the impression the seasoning came from premade sauces in packets, and like I said - the amount of salt used was completely unnecessary and over-the-top.
YUMMMMM!!!!!!!!! Love this place!!! They have menu's you can bring home with you and the prices are not a hidden secret. They have a punchcard program for frequent people...like myself. ITS DELICIOUS!!!! Large menu and good drinks! My favorite! Good for large groups or just you two...or bring the little ones. Sopapias(where's the spell check) for desert is great or the fried ice cream. Fun for birthdays...call ahead to make sure they sing and bring out the hat or else the birthday boy or girl might talk them out of it. I call ahead to give them the heads up for large groups (proper to do for every large group at every sit down restaurant FYI) since reservations are not required. ENJOY!!!
Good Mexican food. I grew up on Mexican food and I am very picky. The food is not only very traditional but is also very welcoming to anyone who has never tried traditional Mexican food. The service is also very good and make the experience very enjoyable. I highly recommend it, for a quick bite to eat, or a fun night out with fun satisfying dishes to try, good drinks and good service.

Carbone’s Pizza

Reviews:
The pizza here is above average in comparison to the large chain pizza companies which advertise to the mass markets such as Dominos and Pizza Hut. This is easily the best option for pizza in this location. The restaurant provides a good atmosphere for dinner, or drinks with friends and family. The pizza is good, however it is in no way the best you'll ever have. The cheeses were good holding good texture and flavor. The sauce was above average and didn't give a sense of a condensed can sauce, rather more of a custom homemade blend with spices and herbs providing flavor. The pizza did have the slight after taste of a gas oven. In comparison to the flavor injected when cooked using a wood fired oven. The crust was crunchy yet maintained the correct balance of fluff and wasn't to soft. There's pizza I would drive hours to have, this is a good alternative to the delivery chains choices. I would order it again.
I don't get the bad reviews. Its a pizza place with sandwiches burgers and wings.....in New Prague. Not exactly a fine dining mecca, nor should it be. Restaurant is clean spacious kid/family friendly and well priced. The boneless wings are very good ( try the asian flavored and the Carolina mustard). Pizza is pretty good. Sausage chunks are solid. Lasagna is pretty good too. Unaware of something better in the area for a fast friendly and comfortable meal. Decent patio in the summer. Is there better out there if you don't mind driving 1/2 hour? Yes. Is there better in the area that meets above criteria. Not really.
The burger I had (Cajun burger) was decent, a little over seasoned but not bad. The fries however were less than satisfying, soggy and grease covered. The biggest issue is that it is definitely a small town bar and grill. Absolutely no craft beers worth spending money on, just miller bud and Coors products on tap. I won't be returning.
